Pull up a stool in the Northern northern northern Australian outback! At this near-empty Pub the team wrangle over the concept of difficulty in Escape Rooms, what it is, whether it is simply a feature of good or bad design, whether it is changing and, inevitably, what even counts as an Escape Room anymore at all! As always we come to you with humble recommendations to ease you into Autumn. Jamie - Thank Goodness You're Here! Cartoon style Steam game set in Northern England in which you help out the locals entirely by slapping things. Mike - Dungeon Crawler Carl books. Unapologetically trope-ridden fast food adventure books for when you'd like to read, but not to think. Jon - I Who Have Never Known Men. Utterly bleak dystopian sci fi novel, translated from French, that follows the first hand account of a young woman trapped in a cage with 39 other women for reasons none of them understand. You will be sad, but also know more. Jon (AGAIN) - Superliminal. Incredibly straightforward yet shockingly mind bending puzzle game that is all about changing your perspective. Think Stanley Parable if it looked better and were more optimistic. Genuinely moving and uplifting. What happens when you turn a lecture hall into an escape room? In this episode of Podagogies, Brock University's Mark Julien and Arica Oliver discuss how they've gamified human resources education. From puzzle-based test prep to navigating campus offices, their escape room activity blends competition, collaboration, and critical engagement with equity and human rights. The conversation explores how playful design can deepen learning, foster community, and make “dry” content memorable—while still addressing serious issues in HR and management. Mark Julien is a Professor of Human Resource Management in the Goodman School of Business at Brock. Arica Oliver is an experiential education coordinator in the Faculty of Education. Teyana Taylor can do it all: she's a singer, songwriter, actress, model, dancer, choreographer, and director and in this episode of ‘Reign' Teyana proves she is an incredible philosopher too, because WOW the amount of great advice she shares in this episode is off the charts! Teyana first came to our attention in the MTV show, ‘Super Sweet 16.' Her reality TV stints led to her choreographing for Beyonce and launching a music career with huge hits like ‘Gonna Love Me'. All before she announced she would retire from music to pursue acting. Plot spoiler - in case you don't know already - after a five hiatus Teyana returned to music this year with her new album, ‘Escape Room'. After securing roles in ‘A Thousand and One' and ‘Coming to America 2', Teyana is now getting deserved Oscar buzz for starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn in Paul Thomas Anderson's ‘One Battle After Another' which is out in cinemas from 26th September. Teyana plays revolutionary Perfidia, part of the French 75 revolutionary movement fighting against right wing politics. It's certainly a timely movie which raises questions around migrants, racism and white supremacy and it's truly one of the best movies of the year which will hopefully get us all talking. Teyana joins me for a deep chat, which shows a whole other side of her, as she talks about everything from the power of patience to operating in survival mode. Get your notepad and pen out whilst listening to this episode because there are so many quotes you need to live by! If you love listening to Teyana as much as I did, get in touch, as I always love chatting to you and you can find me @joshsmithhosts across socials. Love, Josh x P.S. When the Rapids backs were against the wall, they showed absolute grit! The Colorado Rapids took the early 1-0 lead behind the one and only Cole Bassett. Then after the half, the Houston Dynamo made it interesting with their own efforts to win by tying it up during the 68th minute. But if you still believe in miracles, the Rapids provided one! Paxten Aaronson, in his home opener with the Rapids, goes on to make it look easy in the 7th minute of stoppage time. 2-1 is the final at DSGP! Teyana Taylor has changed the game in entertainment throughout her career—so much so that it landed her on the cover of Marie Claire's Changemakers Issue. After living her life in the spotlight for decades as an actress, choreographer, creative director, and artist, Taylor shocked fans when she announced that she would be retiring from music in 2020. Now, years later, she's made a comeback with her brand-new album, Escape Room. The record is just the latest addition to her portfolio as a creative powerhouse. Taylor joins us to discuss the big three (money, power, and style)—including why she isn't afraid to invest money in her projects, how she finds power in being a lover girl, and what it was like working with Ruth E. Carter on her iconic Met Gala look.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Laura Hawkins is the founder of Gamemasters Escape Solutions, a creator and operator of high-performing escape rooms for hotels and resorts. After a successful career making viral television advertising, she discovered escape rooms on a European trip. She turned a passion project into a 14-room operation and a turnkey hotel amenity business (including installs at Atlantis, The Bahamas). She joins us to talk revenue, resorts, and escape room design. • Budget-season hot take: maximize social first and add hyper-targeted print ads if you have the cash. • From receptionist to rainmaker: Laura hustled her way off the front desk and into award-winning ads. • “Just Slow Down”: the graphic traffic-safety campaign that made her the Quentin TarantinA of Winnipeg. • Vacation plot twist: one so-so Dublin escape room → Athens upgrade → Paris hook → new career. • Resorts love it: low staff, durable props, and constant revenue. • Corporate catnip: team-building, communication, respectful-collaboration—plus a true differentiator vs. the hotel next door. • Design recipe: theme first → story → tactile puzzles (knobs, secret doors, scents)… and yes, limes. • Player pro tip: communicate, inventory the space, and OPEN. THE. DRAWERS. Our Top Three Takeaways: 1. Escape Rooms Are a High-ROI Amenity for Hotels and Resorts Laura emphasized that escape rooms offer hotels a unique way to generate revenue while differentiating from competitors. Unlike spas or waterparks, escape rooms appeal to a wider demographic—from families with young kids to teenagers, grandparents, wedding parties, and corporate groups. They're low-labor, durable, and cost far less to install and maintain, while still driving constant guest traffic and ancillary spending at restaurants and bars. 2. Immersive Entertainment Strengthens Guest Connection For Laura, the heart of escape rooms is shared experience. Guests disconnect from screens, collaborate face-to-face, and leave with stories they'll continue discussing long after the game. This creates a sense of joy and connection that builds loyalty and word-of-mouth—two of the strongest assets for hotels seeking repeat visits and community engagement. 3. Differentiation Requires Courage and Creativity Laura challenged hotels to show more boldness in shaping guest experiences. Too many properties look the same, leaving price as the only deciding factor. By embracing immersive, playful, and customizable amenities—like themed escape rooms or even immersive dinner theater—hotels can stand out, create memorable stays, and deliver new revenue streams. In this episode of the 3v0 Podcast, Brendan and Jordan dive headfirst into Blue Prince, one of the most unique indie puzzle games of the year. Developed by solo dev Tonda Ross, Blue Prince blends roguelike mechanics, intricate escape room puzzles, and immersive lore into a mind-bending mansion mystery. We discuss the game's layered mechanics, the importance of obsessive note-taking, and the joy (and madness) of solving estate-wide riddles with a friend. Plus, we share our personal gameplay experience, including the bizarre clues, secret safes, the elusive 46th room, and the Pepe Sylvia-style conspiracy board of it all. And stick around for a bonus round of “Two Truths and a Lie” featuring iconic architectural landmarks. If the Riddler had a panic attack and tried to design a house, it would probably look like this. Join Jamie, Mairi and special guests Dani and Bill from Escape This Podcast as we discuss accessibility in game design and what it means for creating escape rooms of the ears, the eyes, and all the senses. As always, we come to you with some recommendations for the month ahead. They are: Mairi - Signing up to vote in this year's TERPECAs. Or just using the site to find some cool escape rooms near you. Your inner circle shapes a lot—from your fav coffee spot to the little habits you just can’t shake. Like it says in the Bible: "Bad company corrupts good character." Sounds dramatic, but it's true. So surround yourself with good company. Because who you're with changes who you become.

I started City Girl Savings back in 2015, while I didn't go-full time with running the business until 2021, I've had women working for me long before then. I always had the intention of hosting a team retreat, but the timing was never right. In 2024, I declared there would never be a “perfect” time, so I made the decision to get our dates on the calendar! I reached out to The CGS Team via slack to confirm dates nearly 8 months out. By the end of December, I received final RSVPs and started booking everything. In this episode, I'm sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the first ever CGS Team Retreat and how the overall weekend together went. Here's a glance at this episode: [01:53] In spite of working together since 2022, the CGS Team retreat was the first time CGS Team members met in person. [03:27] Meeting at Raya's place in Palm Springs was a great location since 2 of the 5 CGS Team Members already lived in California. [07:00] Curious who the first one to fall asleep each night was? If you guessed Raya, you're right! She shares some background on why that was. [10:03] The CGS Team proved they could work well together while trying to get off The Titanic during an Escape Room activity. [12:06] Before parting ways Sunday morning, the CGS Team had their final meal together at a local Palm Springs diner! Rate, Review, & Follow: Did you love this episode? “Everyone else is doing it…so why shouldn’t I?” Sometimes, following the norm can have hidden costs. God doesn’t give you that list of "dos" and "don'ts" to be a buzzkill. It’s because he knows your best life is waiting for you. But to get there, you'll have to let some things go.

Forget passive viewing. Audiences today want to step inside the story. From Super Nintendo World to Stranger Things pop-ups, immersive entertainment is on the rise. But what defines an “immersive” experience—and why is it suddenly everywhere?Noah Nelson, publisher of No Proscenium and co-founder of the Immersive Experience Institute, joins The Excerpt to explain how the pandemic accelerated demand, what designers are learning from escape rooms, and how new formats—from LARPs to “Monopoly Life-Size”—are reshaping entertainment across the U.S.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Join us in the once watery depths of the former English Channel, now a desertified wasteland! So do you like 70s character actors? Gore sequences that vary wildly in quality? Body counts through the roof? Child actors giving charmingly hammy performances? Lance Henriksen? Evil Monsanto? A clear influence on the 'Final Destination' and 'Escape Room' franchises? Well, then your ship has come in! And if this movie is any guide, it probably just crushed someone who knows the truth about Damien, but let's not worry about that now.

Life feels like an escape room sometimes — the clock's ticking, and the pressure's real. Temptation pops up like a game of Whack-a-Mole, and the enemy's goal? Get you stuck, distracted, or settling for less. But God always gives us a way out — if we're paying attention and willing to run when it counts. Don't fall for the bait... choose wisdom, move fast, and walk in the win that's already yours
It appears as though we are watching the early stages of the second Bolshevik Revolution unfolding, as military-aged fighting men with negligible skills, no ability to speak the language, and low IQ are being intentionally flooded into the West. The question becomes less about what is happening and more about how to adjust to this new variable, which does not appear to be going away anytime soon. Do you stay and hunker down for a long slog, or do you quietly plot your escape and leave while you still can? We explore a few solutions that could help with decision-making.
