Every Summer ends with Labor Day!!! But here in along the coast we like to start the end a week early with our Spanish Mackerel World Championships. Hosted by Trilogy Outdoors Media annually, this family friendly event is contested the weekend before labor day out of Crazy Sister Marina. This year our team was lucky enough to be blessed with the victory in a very tough field. Capt. E, Winston Glover, Addison Glover, and the Bassmaster were blessed with a 5.26 pound fish and took home the title. There are many ways to target spanish and we feel like the tournament has been won on many different techniques over the years and we share our winning technique and exactly how much work goes in to being prepared to target these little spaniards. We also talk about the effects of Hurricane Idalia on the rivers here and how it may effect the opening of shrimp baiting season with rising waters from the massive rainfall inland. We hope you enjoy and happy hunting this weekend to all that are gonna get out and enjoy the opening of dove season and deer rifle season. Enjoy!!!!
We are talking about Every Summer After by Carley Fortune. We are digging up our long-lost loves, childhood bullies, and our feelings about Canada.

My goodness I really did not enjoy July's Book Club pick! I should probably note that I'm likely to be an unpopular opinion here, because as of July 2023, Every Summer After holds 4.26 on Goodreads with 365K reviews.
Every Summer we begin to analyze crop reports, look at the markets and ask the question, “Will Ag make money this year? And if so, which sectors?” Jarod Creed of JC Marketing & Ag Financial Services joins Damian to discuss farm income, recent ag economic history, political winds shaping or shifting Ag, and other forces impacting farm revenue. The good news: 2023 looks profitable for many. The bad news: We work in a business with plenty of ups and downs…as you'll enjoy hearing Jarod and Damian discuss. This Fall, things will look much different than usual. I'm not talking about politics or the weather, although they'll likely have an influence. I'm talking about your television screen. Every Summer, about this time, the TV networks start promoting their new prime-time shows. But thanks to both the writers and actors walking the picket line, you'll see a lot of repeats, game shows, and reality programming... In this episode, Tracie + Shellby review their book of the month, Every Summer After by Carly Fortune. We also discuss the new film adaption of Where the Crawdads Sing! Don't forget to follow us on instagram @bestfriendsandtheirbooks Google Books synopsis of Every Summer After by Carley Fortune: #1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER | NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Six summers to fall in love. One moment to fall apart. A weekend to get it right. They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of spending summers in cottage country, on the glittering lakeshore of her childhood, she stays in a stylish apartment in Toronto, keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart. Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry's Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she'd have to live without. For six summers, through hazy afternoons on the water and warm summer nights working in his family's restaurant, Percy and Sam had been inseparable. And when Percy returns to the lake, their connection is as undeniable as it had always been. But until she can confront the decisions she made, they'll never know whether their love is bigger than the biggest mistakes of their past. Told over the course of six years in the past and one weekend in the present, Every Summer After is a gorgeously romantic look at love and the people and choices that mark us forever.

Catastrophic wildfires are still sweeping Russia's Siberian region of Yakutia. The authorities declared an "interregional state of emergency" on Saturday, August 13. According to the Federal Agency for Forestry (Rosleskhoz), since the start of 2021, fires have destroyed more than seven million hectares (about 17.3 million acres) of forest - an area the size of Ireland or Georgia. NASA said that at the beginning of August, smoke from Yakutia's wildfires reached the North Pole. Earlier this month, photographer Denis Sinyakov spent several days in Yakutia's Ust-Aldansky District alongside the people who are charged with fighting the forest fires - the smokejumpers from the Aerial Forest Protection Service (Avialesokhrana). Meduza shares Denis Sinyakov's photographs and recollections here. Original Article: https://meduza.io/en/feature/2021/08/16/every-summer-the-forest-burns

I never wanted to go to the Isle of Wight. I didn't have anything against the place per se, but we didn't have the time nor money to do the trip I had planned, so this is where we ended up for a family holiday last September during our last week overseas. In the end, I didn't mind going. Let's face it, it was the Isle of Wight or another week in Wolverhampton. What I found when I got there stunned me. Narrow country lanes, picture postcard villages, deserted coastal paths, decrepit seaside piers, ancient castles, chairlifts, steam trains, amusement arcades, beautiful gardens, cream teas: this was the England of yesteryear. I bloody loved it. When I got back to Australia I had my film developed and scanned. When I saw the results, I knew this was the opportunity I had been waiting for, and I put together my first film photography zine Every Summer. EP15. In this episode I'm going to share 5 things I personally do in my business every Summer. For many creatives, Summer is the slow season, and it is tempting to let go of your regular business routines. But while the Summer often forces our goals and strategies to take a backseat, it might also prevent you from being in the driver's seat of your business going forward. This Summer you could choose to do things a little different to get ahead of the game, rather than just stay in the game. And while everyone is relaxing, you can continue to build your business without missing out on summer fun.
