Sermão para o II Domingo da Quaresma.Padre Marcos Mattke, IBP.Capela Nossa Senhora das Dores, Brasília.
E aiiiiiii Diooooovens!!

This week, we're sharing an episode from our friends at FCAT After School. FCAT After School is a podcast project led by student hosts from across SFU's Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology speaking with alumni about their career journey since graduation. You'll hear stories of and advice for traditional and unconventional career paths across communication, interactive arts and technology, contemporary arts, publishing and digital media. What does it mean to fail and succeed at the same time? How can one offer joy as a form of activism? What is the purpose of comedy in 2024? In this episode, host Torien Cafferata explores these questions with SFU School for the Contemporary Arts alum June Fukumura, an interdisciplinary theatre artist, clown, and comedian. June has appeared on the Arts Club stage, in film and TV, and an award-winning Fringe Festival solo show. Together she and Torien explore how, in June's line of work, failure is very much a form of success — and re-enchanting the everyday can happen both on and off the stage.

AI is no longer for data scientists only. Most businesses have made AI tools part of their workflow. For example, we've seen chatbots, automated emails, and the like. As we embrace artificial intelligence, we have to discuss it. What is AI? What is it not? Should we use it for everything? In this episode, Sarah Hoffman, VP of AI and Machine Learning Research in Fidelity Investments, defines AI and its impact on our lives. She also describes the ethical challenges of data bias and what people are doing to overcome it. Finally, Sarah explains why diversity and prejudice are significant concerns in AI development. Tune in to this episode to learn how AI pushes for innovation. Here are three reasons why you should listen to this episode:Discover artificial intelligence as a new approach to learning and training. Learn how AI is a reflection of our own beliefs and understanding. Understand the relevance of diversity in the field of artificial intelligence. Sarah: "We invest deeply in technology. But we've also always recognized that technology is just a tool. It's really how we apply it that matters." FCAT develops platforms and products to empower the next generation. Sarah is a part of FCAT's research team. They explore the future of artificial intelligence (AI). [02:29] Defining AISarah uses AI and machine learning (ML) interchangeably. ML refers to code learning from data. It produces answers based on stored information to make predictions. AI is math, not magic. [03:43] AI in the Finance World FCAT provides services that harness AI's true potential. Financial services use AI tools often. Many people use chatbots, robo-advisers, and automated email responders. Several companies have adopted personalization and sentiment analysis. Models need to adjust when something changes in the world. [06:46] Data Ethics Concerns AI learns biases through data. Ethics boards address ethical issues regarding AI projects and decide whether a problem needs AI. Fairness and explainability tools are available to protect against inadvertent biases. Using AI can enhance how we train people and use fairness and explainability tools. AI tools can help with issues regarding biases. [10:25] Automatic Writing and Coding Multiple tools are now available to help you automatically write and code. Some tools can write code for you. The system is not perfect, but it's a good way for new developers to begin. Artificial intelligence can speed up coding for experienced programmers. AI tools are limited in terms of fact-checking. It can help with brainstorming, but it's essential to be critical regarding the data an AI provides. [16:04] Democratizing Innovation The field of no-code/low-code has improved over the years. We must democratize innovation to share ideas with everyone. [19:57] Education and Machine LearningEach individual has their preferred learning method. For instance, some people don't learn well in classroom settings. Artificial intelligence offers another approach to learning. AI can simplify jargon and make knowledge more accessible to a broader range of people. [22:20] Inclusivity in AI AI tools provide feedback on how to use inclusive terms when speaking or writing. AI biases reflect our assumptions and prejudices. Sarah: “AI tools are showing us the AI bias. Maybe we can start thinking about it for ourselves and think about 'Do we have this bias?'...

--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jlio4/message

In today's Deep Dive Jim and Freddy discuss what they learned from the past two interviews. Matt Lewis on The Sinking of the Sudar Havid and Geoffrey Cain on China's Surveillance State. In their discussion of these episodes, Jim and Freddy weave through such important topics as the horrors of being on a tiny life boat in a massive storm, and if you'd rather be trapped underwater and eaten alive by sharks, or die waking up in a collapsed sink-hole in the middle of the night. (The answer is sink-hole, by the way, because sharks are scary as shit.)Then they go deep into discussing more aspects of the big-tech dystopian Black Mirror-type nightmare currently operating in Xinjiang, China, and different theories about why the world allows it to continue. (Hint, its money.)And to wrap it all up, Jim and Freddy get into an argument about the way controversial topics should be discussed, and if it is really important for saving the world to definitively figure out if Bill Gates has ever eaten a baby or not.So sit back, and enjoy this free-wheeling discussion between two independent thinkers, and then tune back in next week for a new interview with an actual smart person.Note: Deep dive episodes will soon be recorded LIVE with you, the listener, having the ability to call in to the show in real time and voice your own independent thoughts. It's free and easy to participate in the show, and be notified of the upcoming recording times, just download the "Callin" app (www.callin.com) on your phone and follow The Independent Riot.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/independme)

Thank you for joining our lively conversations with teachers, support professionals, parents and students, as they share issues that matter most in our public schools. Here are your hosts, Tina Dunbar and Luke Flynt.Tina Dunbar, Host Welcome to another episode of Educating from the Heart. I'm Tina Dunbar with my cohost, Luke Flynt. So Luke, can you name your favorite educator, one who had a really big impact on you?Luke Flynt, Host: Oh, absolutely. Mr. Powell was my fifth grade teacher at Glendale Elementary, and he's actually the reason I became a teacher. I wanted to be just like him when I grew up. How about you?Tina: Well, several come to mind, but Señor Milliones, he was my Spanish teacher. He really stands out. He was the best, no matter what was going on with the students, he was always there to inspire you and push you forward. So, can you remember your favorite class?Luke: Favorite class? That's a little tougher, you know, I'm a bit of a nerd. I enjoyed almost all of my classes. If I had to choose one, I would probably be History of the English language. I actually loved it so much, I took it as an undergrad and then again at the graduate level.Tina: Wow, that sounds interesting. I might have to get a lesson from you on that. So, one more question: Can you remember your favorite standardized test? I'm sure you've got a few to choose from.Luke: No, no, absolutely not. “Favorite” and “standardized tests” don't really belong in the same sentence. You know, Tina, I was really fortunate that I graduated from public school in Florida before the current testing craze. The FCAT didn't come around until the year I graduated, and seniors didn't have to take it. As a teacher though, I did administer the FCAT, the FCAT 2.0 and the Florida Standards Assessment. And I can tell you, even though the test had three different names, nothing else really changed about them.Tina: I hear what you're saying. And once again, Florida is preparing to administer a revamped assessment system. That includes progress monitoring and a new end of the year tests called F.A.S.T. Or the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking. And while Governor DeSantis has made some really big promises about these new tests,
On his death bed in 347 BC, famed Greek philosopher Plato was rumored to have declared that all of life's mysterious could be solved by answering just a single question..."would you rather be eaten alive by DARPA-created robotic wolf-dogs, or gang-stalked by an unknown private-military contractor until driven penniless and insane?"Luckily, on today's deep dive episode, Jim and Freddy answer this classic quandary to solve the meaning of your existence (you're welcome). They also discuss what they learned, questioned, and now want to know more about from the past two expert interview episodes with documentarian James Corbett and author Robert Guffey (episodes 18 and 19).Jim and F-Cat opine on fascinating subjects like gang-stalking, political anarchy, conspiracy-development within language and technology, and if an AI derived dictator would actually solve the world's problems or just eventually kill us all for our own good. Jim also reiterates why he is desperately hoping for a massive solar flare to hit the earth, and Freddy teaches how you can train multiple generations of baboons to beat up someone wanting to climb a ladder, because... it's just good information to have!Enjoy the show, and then tuned back in next time for more expert interviews where actual smart people talk.Useful Articles on Gang-Stalking:Psychology TodayTargeted JusticeSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/independme)

The date of January 6th is becoming yet another litmus-test topic of loyalty for the red and blue teams in America. Like vaccine mandates, the subject is pushing everyone into zombified Democratic or Republican parroting, while shutting down reasonable debate, or discussion about what the long-term ramifications might be.Was January 6th 2020 a horrifying, nearly-successful insurrection, organized by a group of murderous white-supremisists? Or, were the disturbing events from that day patriotically justified over a stolen election? Probably neither, right? Because the quickest way to know you've come to a wrong conclusion about anything is to check if it matches too closely with what either CNN or Fox News wants you to believe.Today's episode of the Independent Riot is another deep-dive discussion between Jim and F-Cat, recorded on Jan 6th, as they have a couple drinks while discussing whether the events in 2020 were a rebellion master-minded by Trump, or a pathetic case of gullible people being tricked into doing stupid things by the FBI. Hopefully, it sparks some new ways of thinking for you, or at least gives you a laugh. But before listening, please remember to hit the subscribe button, as we've got two fascinating expert-interviews from boundary-breaking independent thinkers coming up in the next week, and you won't want to miss those as they, unlike Jim and Freddy, might actually know what they're talking about. Thanks for listening!Videos to Help You Evaluate Jan 6th:How Deep State has Weaponized Jan 6th by Breaking Points and Glen GreenwaldJan 6th Insurrection Debunked by Tim Pool, Luke RudkowskiTimeline of Jan 6th by The HillFBI Cover Up on Jan 6th? by Breaking PointsJan 6th Derangement by Breaking PointsAre We All Being Duped by Jan 6th? by Russel BrandsArticles to Help You Evaluate Jan 6th:How America is Processing January 6th“Stop Calling January 6th an Insurrection” Oath Keepers Charged with SeditionSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/independme)

The United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is the stuff of legend. On the one hand, they're often portrayed as heroic Mission Impossible or James Bond saviors of democracy. On the other, they've been accused of orchestrating violent governmental coups, assassinations, torture, and mind-control experiments, sometimes on their own citizens. They're definitely America's oldest and most powerful intelligence unit, but is the CIA a force for good in the world, or the dark weaver of its' most bloody chaos.
