They discussher musical family upbringing and her journey from being a Maori girl in New Zealand to becoming one of Australia's beloved Broadway stars. Sir Cameron Mackintosh's invitation to play Fantine in Les Miserables marked a turning point, leading to other iconic roles like Elphaba in Wicked, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and her current portrayal of Satine in Moulin Rouge, prompting a fond laugh about her time with Australia's GIRLBAND signed to Sony.As for Patrice Tipoki, her early exposure to the entertainment industry set the stage for a remarkable career, blending her Maori/Irish heritage with a newly discovered Chinese background. Sir Cameron Mackintosh's invitation to play Fantine in Les Miserables broadened her international presence, performing in various locations including the West End in London. Her diverse musical credits include Nala in Disney's The Lion King, alternating as Elphaba in Wicked, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and recently, Erzulie in Once On This Island. Now, she's excited to be part of the Australian Premiere of Moulin Rouge: The Musical as the Satine Alternate.Beyond her stage performances, Patrice's passion for recording led to several successful singles and albums. Her signing with Sony BMG as a part of GIRLBAND was a significant chapter, featuring hit singles, TV shows, and a clothing range. Notably, her collaboration with Paul Cardall garnered recognition from the Gospel Music Association, contributing to an award-winning album. Patrice's charity efforts, including a cover of Ed Sheeran's “I See Fire,” showcased her commitment to giving back.Amidst her artistic pursuits, Patrice treasures her role as a wife and mother of four, finding balance and joy in Queensland, Australia, when not on tour. He was born with a congenital heart condition, essentially having half a heart. His infancy was marked by numerous surgeries to save his life, and this pattern of hospital visits and surgeries continued throughout his life. In 2009, he received a life-saving heart transplant, an experience that profoundly influenced his music and purpose.Paul's own struggles with chronic illness have fueled his commitment to creating music that serves as a source of healing, both physically and emotionally, for himself and others.Musical Journey and AchievementsIn 1999, Paul founded Stone Angel Music, an independent record label aimed at producing, marketing, and distributing his recordings. His music gained significant recognition when he signed a multi-album deal with Narada, an affiliate of Virgin Records. This marked a turning point in his creative process, inspiring him to record a series of improvisational pieces reflecting on his European heritage and ancestry. The resulting album, "Return Home," is a profoundly introspective work featuring 13 pieces for piano. The unique aspect of this album lies in the fact that Paul entered the studio without any preconceived material, allowing the music to flow organically. The pieces take listeners on a cinematic journey through the lands of his ancestors, incorporating various musical styles and influences that pay homage to his heritage.Paul Cardall's musical journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, resilience, and the ability of music to heal and connect us to our roots. Conclusion and Continued PhilanthropyApart from his musical endeavors, Paul continues to be actively involved in philanthropy, partnering with organizations like The Ryan Seacrest Foundation to provide keyboards to children's hospitals and establishing scholarships for students affected by congenital heart disease. For more about Paul Cardall and his musical journey, visit Paul Cardall's official website.

Of course in reality his life as been one of dedication and hard work. In this episode we talk about the process of writing soundtracks, how Stephen’s career came to be, his work on The Hobbit, The Lovely Bones and Human Traces, his collaborations with Brian Eno, Peter Jackson and Ed Sheeran and how the international hit I See Fire was casually written right in front of him.
We’re proud to present the new issue from DISCOPOLIS. It’s Twenty Fifteen and it will be your guide to the upcoming year. As you know we’ve been working on a new different taste since our Summer 2013 release so you’ll still have the classic Nu Disco within the first mix but the future Deep House within the second one. THE NU MIX starts with one of the artist of our beloved Duke Dumont’s label Blasé Boys Club, ‘Go Deep’ by Jax Jones, who was featured on Duke’s previous hit ‘I Got U’. We have Bondax’s tropical vibes with ‘All I See’, one of the Nu Disco tracks of the Summer. The 2 Bears (Joe Goddard & Raf Rundell) are about to release their new album and we need to show you how it’s gonna sound so you can find their new fabulous single ‘Not This Time’ here (which has a excellent video too, check it out). It’s important to highlight one of the songs of the past season, ‘Colourblind’ by Les Loups, a classy but catchy track. James Curds brings classic sounds from House and he remixes ‘Whenever’ by Hotlane and presents his new track ‘Say The Words To You’ for those who love late 90s house basslines. Then we’ll go back to 80s with The Young Punx & Louis La Roche and the retouch Mitch Murder made for Kiesza’s ‘Hideaway’. At the end of the mix the sounds get relaxed again with Walter Sobcek x Oxford, the amazing remix Yathzel made for Pekin Duk’s ‘High’, Keljet for Ji Nilsson’s ‘Heartbreakfree’, one of the best tracks of the year and the remixer to watch, Kygo, retouching Ed Sheeran’s ‘I See Fire’. THE FUTURE MIX is for being played very loud with the best Hi-Fi System you have in your house. Chase & Status produced the first track, ‘Your Love’ by Moko and when you hear it you will know the 90s have never died. But this is only the beginning because with the second one we’re going even harder. As we said before, we loooove Blasé Boys Club and its headman Duke Dumont so here you are the banger ‘Won’t Look Back’. If this song is not the first one of the mix it’s only because you couldn’t be ready without warming up. You will find some old friends like Blonde, Kiesza again but this time remixed by Billon, Gorgon City with ‘Unmissable’, The Magician with ‘Sunlight’, MØ remixed by Kant or Le Youth & Javeon’s ‘Feel Your Love’. But if the only thing you want to do is get crazy with the maddest basslines then check ’90’s Baby’ by Redlight, ‘You Got To’ by the legend guys Groove Armada, the remix Grant Nelson made for Sam Smith’s ‘I’m Not The Only One’ or one of the acts who was featured in our first release back in 2009, Treasure Fingers teaming up with Bosco with the smash ‘Names’. Don’t miss up Kulkid, one of the artists to watch this year. He touches Coolio’s ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ and turns it into a golden dancefloor track. But he’s not the only one doing magic with his remixes, Nico & Vinz’s ‘Am I Wrong’ gets revisited by TS7 (with free download from his Soundcloud page) and bring us the best possible finale. Brobdingnagian Bards were officially invited to DragonCon this year. We’re already planning this year’s shows. One of which is a Sunday evening Hobbit Drinking Songs show. The show is currently scheduled for 10pm in the Augusta Ballroom in the Westin. Every year, we like to change things up, doing something new and exciting. Last year, we added a fun arrangement of “Seven Drunken Nights”, hobbit-style. This year, I was thinking about how the show should conclude. What can we do to create one giant crescendo of a song where everyone is singing along with us? The song we decided on was “I See Fire”, the song from the end of the second Hobbit movie. It’s beautiful, dramatic and has a great sing-along at the end. At ALEP last year (the hobbit gathering in Central Kentucky), an Elf Choir performed the song. It was amazing. Wouldn’t it be awesome replicate that song at the end of the show? I threw the idea out to Andrew and together we talk about the logistics needed to make it happen. What we are envisioning. You can even watch the performance that inspired this idea on YouTube. Then you just need to show up at DragonCon on Sunday evening to see if we can make it look as cool as we hope it will be.
