Two friends uncover the truth behind the mysterious industrial accident that shuttered an organ preservation factory and cast its owner into ruin.  Genre: Mystery, Science Fiction   Excerpt: Jordan then glanced around the room, the basement room that was part of the secret underground laboratory beneath the abandoned factory that was once owned by Sabrina's mother, Alectrona Fabron, the famed pioneer of organ preservation technology. It seemed Alectrona had figured out how to preserve more than just organs.   What story or stories am I revisiting in this episode? Each Season 8 episode is a standalone story, but it's connected to or inspired by a previous story through a character, a place, an object, a concept, a continuation of events (ahem, sequel), and so on. This week's story is connected to the Year Five story entitled “The Strange Chamber,” in which two friends visit a long-abandoned organ factory that's become a local urban legend. But there's also a side character who first appears in the Season One episode called “Ignotus” and then in a later episode called “Nocturnal.” (There's also a passing mention of a fictional television show from an episode called “The Last Honest Vampire.”)   MERCH!Interested in merch, like mugs and notebooks, featuring my artwork? The REAL Reason Dumbledore Borrowed the Cloak of Invisibility - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing Dumbledore, the Potter's, and the fabled Invisibility Cloak. Specifically, we're going to be taking a look at the events of the time period surrounding the Potter's murder, and why on earth Dumbledore chose to ‘borrow' an item of such great protection when the Potter family's lives were in imminent danger. If the cloak is so powerful that even death can't find you, wouldn't it be more useful in the hands of people who are hiding from the most powerful dark wizard to have ever lived? Let's dive in. The Invisibility Cloak is a powerful magical artefact that once belonged to Ignotus Peverell- the youngest brother from the ‘tale of three brothers'- a story outlining the origin of each Deathly Hallow.  The plot surrounds the three wizard brothers and their ability to cheat death for a short period of time. After conquering death, a personification of death, under the guise of congratulating them, awards them with 3 gifts: The elder wand, the resurrection stone, and the invisibility cloak. Long story short, each brother chose one of the gifts that death had presented them. Ignotus (the youngest) chose the invisibility cloak. All 3 of these objects are massively instrumental in the Harry Potter story- and while the elder wand is a huge plot driver, the invisibility cloak definitely ended up being the most useful hallow for Harry- which is interesting, because it was indirectly handed down to him by his father. After James's death, it was kept safe until Harry was old enough to appreciate it, at which point Dumbledore anonymously gifted the cloak to Harry in the Philosopher's Stone.

– A vita magától értetődően számos ponton rezonál a kortárs irodalmi mezőt megosztó kérdésekkel – ezeket járja körül Lengyel Imre Zsolt, Sipos Balázs és Gulyás Márton.November: Beöthy Zsolt: Az irodalomtörténet elmélete (részletek) (1901) Beöthy Zsolt: Irodalmi forradalmaink (1908) Ignotus: A magyar kultúra s a nemzetiségek – Utóirat (A perzekútor-esztetikáról) (1908) Ignotus: Az üldözött irodalom (1908) Ignotus: Író és közönség (1909) Az évadban olvasott összes szöveg ingyen elérhető itt: https://drive.google.com/drive/folder...Hol találsz meg minket?Youtube-on: https://www.youtube.com/c/Partiz%C3%A1nm%C3%A9diaFacebookon: https://facebook.com/partizanpolitika/Facebook-csoportunkban: https://www.facebook.com/groups/partizantarsalgoInstagramon: https://www.instagram.com/partizanpolitika/Hogyan támogathatod a munkánkat?Legyél a patronálónk, hogy hozzáférj a vágatlan adásokhoz és extra tartalmainkhoz: https://www.patreon.com/partizanpolitikaPayPal-on keresztül is várjuk az adományodat, e-mail címünk: partizanalapitvany@gmail.comEgyszeri vagy rendszeres banki átutalással is segíthetsz! On the last episode of "Interesting Facts with Chase", Chase breaks down what happened to some of our favorite heroes that were not part of The Golden Trio 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts. Including favorites such as Cho Chang, Dudley Dursley, and Luna Lovegood. Who is the current Minister of Magic that began her role in 2019? "Parked all right, then?" Ron asked Harry. "I did. Hermione didn't believe I could pass a Muggle driving test, did you? She thought I'd have to Confund the examiner." "No, I didn't," said Hermione, "I had complete faith in you." "As a matter of fact, I did Confund him," Ron whispered to Harry, as together they lifted Albus's trunk and owl onto the train. "I only forgot to look in the wing mirror, and let's face it, I can use a Supersensory Charm for that." ((pg. 755) (Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows)) Closing out the episode Chase breaks down some of the most sought after Patronuses!  Cho Chang's Swan Patronus, J. K. Rowling's Patronus and our very own JNelly AKA Josh's Patronus! Now is the time to say goodbye to our heroes. Learn what the cast of our Golden Trio is doing today, including Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint. Albus, Rose, Hugo and Lily laughed. The train began to move, and Harry walked alongside it, watching his son's thin face, already ablaze with excitement. Harry kept smiling and waving, even though it was like a little bereavement, watching his son glide away from him... The last trace of steam evaporated in the autumn air. The train rounded a corner. Harry's hand was still raised in farewell. As Harry looked at her, he lowered his hand absentmindedly and touched the lightning scar on his forehead. "I know he will." The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well. ((pg. 759) (Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows)) The Cloak of Invisibility has been kept, the Elder Wand has been returned, and the Resurrection Stone has been abandoned. "I'm putting the Elder Wand," he told Dumbledore, who was watching him with enormous affection and admiration, "back where it came from. It can stay there. If I die a natural death like Ignotus its power will be broken, won't it? The previous master will never have been defeated. That'll be the end of it."  Dumbledore nodded. They smiled at each other. ((pg. 749) (Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows)) "That wand's more trouble than it's worth," said Harry. "And quite honestly," he turned away from the painted portraits, thinking now only of the four-poster bed lying waiting for him in Gryffindor Tower, and wondering whether Kreacher might bring him a sandwich there, "I've had enough trouble for a lifetime." ((pg. 749) (Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows)) Thank you for being the shields that guard the realms of fantasy, and being with Chase and Josh as they have embarked on this incredible journey with Harry, Ron and Hermione. Interesting Facts with Chase has opened at the close for the Harry Potter ride or die arc, but for "Chase & Josh: Fact or Fantasy" it is not a goodbye, but a see you later...

Enjoy!Summary: The Tale of the Three Brothers was a driving force for Harry and his friends on his journey in the Deathly Hallows. However, the story might not just be a children's story. I think there are four people in the Harry Potter universe that fit into the story's three brothers and Death. Death is Dumbledore. In the Tale of the Three Brothers, Death is pulling the strings. He has a goal, and it works out the way he wants. Death gives the three brothers the items they seek. Those items led there owners to their deaths. The plan worked. Dumbledore did the same thing. He had a plan for the three brothers in the Harry Potter universe to die. Dumbledore did give all three people items that did the same thing as in the story as well. Voldemort is Antioch, the oldest brother. This works for obvious reasons. Both Antioch and Voldemort wanted as much power as a person could have, and they both got killed because of it. Snape is Cadmus, the second oldest brother. This also seems to be very simple. Cadmus wanted his deceased bride to return from the dead and be reunited with him. Snape wanted the same for Lily. For both men, their loved ones were killed and both Snape and Cadmus died. Finally, Ignotus is Harry. Ignotus gets the invisibility cloak for his wish. Dumbledore, Death, gives Harry, Ignotus, the invisibility cloak as well. Ignotus uses his cloak right up until the second he dies, when he take it off and gives it to his son. Harry, takes off his cloak in the forbidden forrest right when Voldemort kills him too. All the strings match, and they fit too.Gmail: ThePotter Discussion@Gmail.comInstagram: @thepotterdiscussionWebsite:https://www.thepotterdiscussion.buzzsprout.com

From the Central Coast of California to Baden-Baden, Toronto, Siracusa, and Budapest, Christina Griffin's The Regulars’ Table: Conversations with Ferenczi (International Psychoanalytic Books, 2018) is about deep enduring friendships; then and now. Inspired by Ignotus’ eulogy for Ferenczi, Christina Griffin decided to emulate his experiments in thought transference. This experience of sitting wordlessly with a friend and “silent writing” is the catalyst for a great adventure from her home in California to the cafes of Budapest where Ferenczi once gathered with friends and colleagues at their regular table. In 1929 one of the regulars, Frigyes Karinthy wrote a short story, Chains where he introduced the concept of six degrees of separation. Through her receptivity as a psychoanalyst, Dr. Griffin allows for the “interruption of the uncanny”, explores the “consequences and fears of vanishing” and discovers that she is separated from Ferenczi and his regulars by fewer than six degrees. Mining the Ferenczi correspondence as well as the writings of novelists, poets, painters, psychoanalysts, playwrights, and musicians, Griffin reconstructs a world where she joins Ferenczi to satisfy their mutual interest in “all that was human” and the “mysterious process of living among others.” Christopher Russell, LP is a psychoanalyst in Chelsea Manhattan. ¡Ah!

"A Nyugat első nagy nemzedékének alakja, Ignotus, Emma asszony nevében kiterjedt levelezést folytatott A Hét című folyóirat hasábjain mind az olvasóival, mind a szerkesztőkkel. Emma asszony számos maradandó alkotása közül a legnépszerűbb egészen biztosan az a receptverseny volt, melyet 1901. július 7-én hirdetett meg, kérve Magyarország hölgyeit eredeti, érdekes, nem kimásolt ételleírások beküldésére. A legjobb receptek aztán megjelentek A Hét szakácskönyvében. Dede Franciskát, a Tartsd jól a bestiát! című kötet szerzőjét azonban nem a receptek nyűgözték le. Sokkal inkább maga a verseny. (A magyarkonyhaonline.hu könyvajánlója)

This week: BAS on the west coast! We talk to Adriana Salazar and John Spiak, director and chief curator of the Grand Central Art Center, which has an exhibition of Adriana's work up currently. Also, we talk to Sabina Ott about The Terrain Exhibitions Biennial which is this coming weekend! Plan your life around seeing us at EXPO!!! You know you want to. ADRIANA SALAZAR: NOTHING ELSE LEFT 2013 California-Pacific Triennial Partnership with Orange County Museum of Art July 6 through September 22, 2013 Is there an end to our existence? Can we be separated from our bodies and be transformed into something else? Adriana Salazar's work has continued to revolve around these questions in different ways. This is why the realm of mortuary customs appeals to her: it presents numerous ways to approach the ultimate unknown. Her past series of works have attempted to bring inanimate objects to life; crystalize human actions into mechanical devices; worked to blur the line that separates the natural and the artificial. Death has been an ever-present part of her work, understood in a broader sense, in her own words, "I want to address death as a dare to the certainties of knowledge, and as a challenge to deeply rooted traditions. Thus, my work has taken its course transforming mechanical actions, obsolete objects, fading plants and passing life into installations and objects that could become questioning situations themselves." For this current series, created during a two-month residency at Grand Central Art Center, the artist desired to go deeper into that moment of transition between life and death, finding out as much as she could about what happens with our bodies, with our consciousness and with everything we build around the death of others. In her words, "I found, amongst other things, that there is an aesthetics of transition, that there are rituals trying to maintain life after death, and laws which govern our bodies, even when we are not fully present. I also found out that there are transitional techniques and an intricate industry around them." Some of these techniques of transition have the purpose of dematerializing the body - its physical presence, associated to life and its impermanence - replacing it with a different kind of immaterial presence. In the crematory, a compartment ignites at a very high temperature until the body is almost entirely dissolved. In order to secure the transparency of this transition, all particles of bone are carefully separated from any other solid object that might exist in our remains. These foreign bodies - implants, replacements, metal bodily parts, and every sign of our artificial self - must be removed. All that is left are bones, which are then reduced to the size of grains of sand. These remains are kept in homes, spread at symbolic locations, interned at traditional burials site, or used in other creative manners. The artificial parts, on the other hand, are usually recycled for their metals or tossed away. Salazar has decided to rescue as many cremated artificial body parts possible. These parts remain as solid as they were inside their bodies and are nevertheless considered residue. She found their value in this very ambiguity. They embody the question of the status of our own existence on a physical level: their materiality creates confusion between those objects as parts of a physical body and our own body, thus opening the gap between our certainties and uncertainties, beyond the matter of human death itself. The simple presence of these objects puts the status of life into question, allowing us to see, on one hand, the death of usage and value as something applicable to our own bodies. They allow us to see, on the other hand, the possibility of our existence as purely impermanent, earthly and physical. They allow us to see our possible becoming.
