In this episode of Atma Vision, and ahead of the upcoming festival of "Radhastami," we look at the theme of the internal pleasure potency of God, also known in the Bhakti tradition as Srimati Radharani. Making comparisons with the figure of Mary, we show how the worshiper approaches God via the compassionate intercession of His divine, feminine pleasure potency (whether having a maternal or conjugal ethos). We look at a verse from the Upanishads, a verse from the Bhagavata Purana and a verse from the Bhagavad-Gita, all relating to the person of Radharani. We also comment on a passage from Stevie Wonder's "Jesus Children of America" song from 1973.

Pastor Tom speaks about Jesus' love for children from Mark 10:13-16. In these verses, we learn why Jesus loves children, what we can learn from children, and why we, East Shore Baptist Church, should remain faithful in our children's ministry. Why does Jesus love children? What can children teach me about God?
Samuel talks about how much fun and how important it is for us to be involved in not only our own children's lives, but with children as a whole.

Sermon by Pastor Brad BogueScripture: Mark 10:10-13It was common practice for rabbis to bless young children, but when a crowd of parents present their children to Jesus, the disciples rebuke them. What if, instead of resisting them out of frustration, we saw them as an opportunity to be open to God? Perhaps our agendas are simply that? OUR agendas. Our agendas are the things that interrupt us from our plans or rather the inefficient things of life, are not obstacles or distractions, but are actually God's call for us.
Robert Glasper - "Why We Speak (feat. Q-Tip & Esperanza Spalding)," a 2022 single on Loma Vista / Concord. In 2012, jazz pianist Robert Glasper's fifth album, Black Radio, was a breakout success. It landed him the Grammy for Best R&B Album, while at the same time, hitting #1 on the Billboard jazz charts. The following year, Black Radio 2 was met with similar success, winning the Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance for the track "Jesus Children of America" featuring Lalah Hathaway and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Now, in 2022, he's released the latest installment, Black Radio III, where he continues to defy categorization and embrace collaboration. Featured guests include India.Arie, Meshell Ndegeocello, Killer Mike, Common, Ty Dolla $ign, and on today's KEXP Song of the Day, Esperanza Spalding and Q-Tip. “When I'm working on Black Radio, I'm not interested in who's the hot new artist at the time,” Glasper toldRelix. “It's more about people who are open to pushing the music. I'm interested in, ‘Are you actually talented? Do you actually work on your craft?' Black Radio has become a bar. If you're on Black Radio, you have to be a certain thing. Who really has something to say?” Read the full post on KEXP.org Support the show: https://www.kexp.org/donate See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this month's episode, Liam and Don take a look at Jesus' teaching on the laborers in the vineyard through the larger story of Jesus engaging with the people. Liam explores the tendency to isolate Jesus' teachings and parables from their story-based, literary contexts. Liam proposes that the author of Matthew's gospel (like the authors of each gospel) intentionally connected the teachings with the events surrounding them. As an example, Liam considers the vineyard teaching in conversation with Jesus blessing the children (Matt 19) as he goes about the towns blessing people, tending the sick, feeding people, and teaching. Don and Liam share some lively discussion about the implications of these teachings, especially when we consider the teachings in the context of the stories about how Jesus interacts with communities. Before closing, Don shares the lyrics to Ani DiFranco's song Coming Up. Musical track Zero Remorse by Jon Sumner from Epidemic Music. Available NOW! Richard Wardman continues this short series on what we can learn from encounters that people had with Jesus in the Bible. In this talk, he looks at what happened when some parents brought their children to be blessed by Jesus in Mark chapter 10. Jesus’ followers wanted to turn the children away: their thinking seems to be that Jesus was far too important to be bothered with kids. By contrast, Jesus wanted to bless them and commanded his followers not to stop them coming to him. What can we learn about how we see children and about how they can be encouraged to come to Jesus in today’s world?

By contrast, Jesus wanted to bless them and commanded his followers not to stop them coming to him. What can we learn about how we see children and about how they can be encouraged to come to Jesus in today’s world?
Darren talks to Alec Reyna about the sixth track from Innervisions, Jesus Children of America.
While our culture often places value on people based on their “usefulness” to us, Scripture teaches that we are valuable because each of us is made in God’s image. As Christians, this means that we should view children and those with special needs differently than the world. However, because Scripture also teaches that we are born in sin and stand guilty before God, many Christians are still left wondering, “What happens after death to infants, young children, and those with special needs––do they go to heaven?” In this message from Colossians 1, David Platt points us to the character of God and the truths of Scripture in order to find hope for these difficult questions. We can trust in the One who always does what is good and just.// Watch the full sermon, download the free discussion questions, and more by clicking here.
