The raw pet food sector was shocked when Jacqueline Hill and Roxanne Stone, the original founders and operators of Answers Pet Food, resigned and disassociated entirely from the company they helped build into a success. As the company's revenue began to plummet with CEO Keith Hill at the helm, Keith launched an aggressive attack against Jacqueline Hill and Roxanne Stone, as well as against the independent farmers who wanted to expand their business opportunities beyond Keith Hill. We reflect on the Iron's 3-1 festive away win at Oldham - the first under manager Keith Hill. We also discuss the excellent form of Myles Hippolyte, Hayden Hackney, recent postponements, look ahead to the January transfer window and the future of Boxing Day hero Ryan Loft.
We discuss a definite improvement under Keith Hill, as the Iron appear to edge closer to an elusive first win under his management.
Two managers this week in two very different situations. Michael O'Neill's Stoke City sit 5th in The Championship after an impressive start, and have surely got the playoffs in their sights as they look to keep pace with the pack. Elsewhere, the EFL's bottom club Scunthorpe United remain rooted to the foot of Skybet League Two, but have a new man at the helm, and he's a man with a point to prove. Keith Hill's CV stacks up with the best of them and there's not many people that know more about League Two than him. He's got a challenge on his hands to keep them in the EFL, but it's a challenge he's relishing and he's certainly going to give it a good go!
We react to the appointment of Keith Hill as the Iron's manager.
Jonathan Oakes is joined by David Prutton and David Stowell to assess all the latest from the Championship, League One and League Two.The panel dissects all the most recent news and talking points from the EFL, while we also hear from Middlesbrough's Matt Crooks in Ten To Tackle. In the Championship (from the start) it's all about Middlesbrough and the arrival of Chris Wilder in place of Neil Warnock. There was also a return to winning ways for Bournemouth and Coventry, and to a more significant extent Cardiff, and a huge win near the bottom for Hull at Barnsley. We also hear from Matt Crooks in Ten To Tackle (37m52s), as the Boro midfielder reveals all as he answers our quickfire questions. There was no League One or League Two at the weekend, but there was FA Cup first-round action (44m30s), where Sunderland suffered another poor defeat, and another managerial appointment to boot as the Football League's bottom club Scunthorpe brought in Keith Hill. All that and much more!

Right, so high on life after the late away win at Carlisle a few weeks ago I foolishly blurted out live on the pod that I was going to make a cup final song in the tradition of the atrocious FA Cup final songs teams did in the 80's and 90's. I firmly beliveve i have accomplished that, as this is utterly atrocious. If you like Bananarama - Love in the first degree, then you're gonna hate this. If you hate Bananarama - Love in the first degree, then you're gonna hate this. I CANNOT SING! Here's the lyrics in the highly unlikely event that you want to singalong: Last night I was dreaming We were relegated by the EFL When I woke up I was screaming Down on points per game Such a fudge by rick parry They put the blame on trfc They wouldn't go for our story They wouldn't hear our plea Tranmere’s going to Wembley We’ve got Vaughanyyyyy Vaughany Lloyd and Woolery, In a final no fans can go see. Fuck off Rick Parrrryyyyy Parry and PPG. Tranmere We’re going to Wembley Someday I'll believe it Why we got sent down to league 2, In the pizza trophy Vale, Liverpool, Wigan, somehow we got through, Leicester, Peterborough, city And Oxford we beat you. At 16 years and 274 days James Vaughan smashed the record for the premier league's youngest ever goalscorer, a title he still proudly holds to this day, and 16 years and 13 clubs later he should have been continuing his goalscoring habit at Wembley this Sunday, against one of his former employers Sunderland in the 2021 Papa John's Trophy Final. However, a recurrence of a knee injury that has blighted his career sees him injured and unavailable for selection, but he still hopes to be fit enough to travel with his Tranmere team mates, for what promises to be a very special day out for Keith Hill's Skybet League 2 high flyers. Elsewhere, Mark Clemmit catches up with Coventry City boss Mark Robins, who's looking forward to the return of fans, a return to normality and a return to the Ricoh Stadium next season after their groundsharing sabbatical at St Andrews.
Darryl Morris, Jack Dearden and Maggie Tetlow discuss the defeat to Tranmere, Ian Evatt's new role as Manager, the return of Keith Hill and the January transfer window.

Hello and welcome back to another LOVPod! Over the last few months we have been hugely fortunate to have had so many former players come on the show, and in episode 146 we thought the best way to round off this period for the podcast would be to discuss the players, their stories and the insights from them in open forum. Joining myself, Tom, was Chris, James and Will in this recording that took place a few weeks ago. As such, Keith Hill was still Bolton manager, Will was still part of LOV and I kept referring to this pod as 145. I can guarantee you, though, that this doesn't impact the quality of the pod! So, as ever, sit back, relax, and enjoy episode 146 of the LOVPod, our player guest review! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
