This week on Born to Watch, it's time for our Air Force One Movie Review, the movie review podcast where we don't take the movies or ourselves too seriously. Whitey, G-Man, and Will the Worky climb aboard one of the most patriotic action films ever made, as Harrison Ford swaps his whip and fedora for the Oval Office and proves that sometimes the President really can save the day.Released in 1997 and directed by Wolfgang Petersen, Air Force One became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, delivering a simple but irresistible premise. Terrorists hijack the President's plane, take his family hostage and quickly discover they've picked a fight with a Commander-in-Chief who just happens to be a Medal of Honour recipient. The boys dive into whether this 90s action favourite still holds up almost three decades later, or whether nostalgia is doing most of the heavy lifting.Harrison Ford once again proves why he remains one of Hollywood's greatest accidental heroes. Whether he's Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Dr Richard Kimble or President James Marshall, Ford has a knack for making ordinary people believe they can survive extraordinary situations. The team discusses why his grounded style works so well and why he's able to elevate even the most over-the-top action movies.Of course, no discussion of Air Force One would be complete without Gary Oldman. His performance as terrorist Ivan Korshunov is as intense as ever, even if the boys question whether one of cinema's greatest actors deserved a stronger script. Along the way, they celebrate Oldman's incredible career, from Leon and True Romance through to The Dark Knight, Darkest Hour and beyond. As always, the movie quickly becomes secondary to the ridiculous questions that only Born to Watch can ask.Just how many parachutes does Air Force One actually carry? Why is everyone smiling after jumping out of a plane somewhere over Kazakhstan?Does a 1997 satellite phone really keep working at 20,000 feet? Why is there an endless supply of drinks hidden in the cargo hold? And how exactly does one MiG fighter somehow survive an entire squadron attack just so the movie can have one more action sequence? The crew also takes aim at some wonderfully cheesy taglines, debates whether this is one of cinema's greatest presidential action thrillers, and wonders if Australians will ever truly understand America's obsession with the presidency.Elsewhere, G-Man delivers another outstanding Ordinary People segment, covering Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Glenn Close and a cast full of "that guy" character actors you've seen in dozens of movies. There's also a look back at the massive year that was 1997, including Titanic, Men in Black, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Good Will Hunting.Hit, Sleeper or Dud returns with another trio of recommendations, including Wesley Snipes' underrated Murder at 1600, the Spanish original that inspired Vanilla Sky, and one of the greatest movie titles ever discovered in the Dud category. As always, expect plenty of laughs, terrible impressions, completely unnecessary tangents, and more than a few moments where the logic of Hollywood action films is left hanging out the side of the aircraft. So buckle up, secure your tray table, prepare for decompression, and remember one thing...Get off my podcast! If you enjoy what we do, we'd love your support. Subscribe wherever you listen, leave us a five-star review, share the episode with your mates, and follow Born to Watch across social media. Every listen helps us keep celebrating the movies we all grew up with, one ridiculous review at a time.#AirForceOne #HarrisonFord #GaryOldman #WolfgangPetersen #MovieReview #BornToWatchPodcast #90sMovies #ActionMovies #FilmPodcast #GetOffMyPlane

The Interstellar (2014) Movie Review has finally landed on Born to Watch, the movie review podcast where we don't take ourselves or the movies too seriously, and this week Whitey, Damo and the G-Man strap themselves into the Endurance to tackle one of Christopher Nolan's most ambitious films.Love it, hate it, or spend three hours trying to figure out what a tesseract actually is, there's no denying that Interstellar is one of the most talked-about science fiction films ever made.Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine and an unforgettable surprise appearance from Matt Damon, Interstellar blends emotional family drama with mind-bending science in a way very few films have attempted before. Black holes, wormholes, time dilation, gravity, fifth dimensions and Hans Zimmer's thunderous score all combine to create a cinematic experience unlike anything else. The boys break down whether Christopher Nolan's space epic deserves its place among the greatest films ever made or asks just a little too much of its audience.Whitey shares why this remains one of the most emotional cinema experiences of his life and admits that even after multiple viewings, he still discovers new details every time. Damo dives deep into the science behind the film, the incredible soundtrack from Hans Zimmer and why this is a movie that rewards repeat watches. Meanwhile, G-Man experiences Interstellar for the very first time, proving that even a three-hour runtime can't stop Nolan from delivering one unforgettable ride.Of course, this wouldn't be Born to Watch without plenty of laughs along the way.The boys debate whether anyone actually understands the ending the first time around, discuss the emotional devastation of Cooper's relationship with Murph, marvel at Nolan's practical filmmaking techniques and question whether they'd leave their own family behind if they were humanity's last hope. There's plenty of appreciation for Matthew McConaughey's career-best performance, Anne Hathaway's emotional turn, Jessica Chastain's incredible work as the adult Murph, and Matt Damon's unforgettable heel turn, which completely changes the direction of the film.As always, the crew dive into the IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes scores, compares Interstellar against some of the greatest science fiction films ever made, revisits the incredible year that was 2014 in cinema and discusses Christopher Nolan's unbelievable run of films, including Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar.Expect plenty of discussion around Hans Zimmer's legendary score, practical visual effects that still hold up over a decade later and why Interstellar continues to inspire audiences every time it's re-released on the biggest screens possible.Naturally, the famous Born to Watch segments return, including Overs and Unders, Critical Thinking, Ordinary People, Hit, Sleeper, Dud, The Snorbs Report, Quickfire Questions and plenty more movie nonsense that somehow still makes perfect sense.Whether you've watched Interstellar once or twenty times, or you're still trying to work out exactly what happened inside the tesseract, this episode is packed with laughs, passionate movie discussion and enough Christopher Nolan appreciation to make even Professor Brand proud. So grab your headphones, set your coordinates beyond Saturn and join the crew for one of the biggest movie discussions we've ever had.Join the conversation! What did you think of Interstellar? Is it Christopher Nolan's greatest achievement? Does Hans Zimmer deliver the greatest movie score of the modern era? Let us know your thoughts across our social channels, and don't forget to subscribe, leave a review and share Born to Watch with your fellow movie lovers.#Interstellar #ChristopherNolan #MatthewMcConaughey #HansZimmer #MovieReview #BornToWatchPodcast #SciFiMovies #FilmPodcast #Interstellar2014 #MoviePodcast

Dudás Zoltán elmondja, hogyan választhattak olyan embert a javítóintézet élére, akinek a visszaélései évek óta ismertek voltak, azok miatt fegyelmi vizsgálat indult, és akit menesztették is emiatt korábbi munkahelyéről. Odgovor smo v tokratnih Jezikovnih pogovorih iskali v pogovoru z dr.

This week we're introduced to ShonnyDman, a nerd who enjoys Marvel, DC…. the list goes on. He's especially talented at interviewing cosplay models who have nothing going on in their lives. And wait until he tries to tell us about an animated series he watched months ago and has mostly forgotten. Riveting! Doug from Good Times Great Movies joins the show to explain that Partyhardycosplay might be a moron. Gallagher and Artie Fletcher were in Wyoming promoting their comedy show on Z94 FM. Watching Gallagher lecture Artie for being terrible on the radio is way funnier than whatever they do on stage. Jerry Banfield is desperate for companionship and thinks that going out on lots of dates but never getting to date number 2 is actually a triumph! Especially because he's spent $10k on dating advice already this year. Opie has decided to add another anchor to his show in the form of Erik Marino. This guy is a DUD!! Send us Fan MailAngelo, Rhea, and Jay are back — and this week there are three numbers that have shaken Hollywood to its core: $81 million, $100 million, and $52 million. That's what three YouTube kids just grossed at the box office... a 20-year-old with Backrooms, a 26-year-old who turned $750K into Obsession's biggest second-weekend spike in modern box office history, and Markiplier, who walked out of a gaming channel and grossed $52 million on $3 million. The film school brats gave us Scorsese and Coppola. The VHS kids gave us Tarantino and Rodriguez. Is this the YouTube generation?THEN: Scott Pelley walked into a meeting and told his new boss, Nick Bilton, to his face that Bilton and Bari Weiss are "murdering 60 Minutes" to placate Donald Trump. CBS is still waiting on federal approval for the Paramount/Warner Brothers merger, Bilton has zero broadcast background, and Pelley just lit a match on his own legacy. At what point does speaking truth to power become career suicide — and does it even matter if you're right?ALL THAT PLUS: Byron Allen's Comics Unleashed is a DUD, Rhea delivers what can only be described as a passionate sermon for The Sheep Detective, Angelo checks out a new show by The Fonz and much MUCH more!MAKE SURE TO VISIT OUR SPONSOR: Steven Singer Jewelers! The TV Show is a weekly podcast hosted by Jay Black, with regular guests Angelo Cataldi and Rhea Hughes. This episode I start off talking about the sudden arrival of my youngest child. Then we go into the main topic. The laziness of racial content. A guy name Chud the Dud tried to get famous by dropping the n word around Nashville. He got hot for a second then flamed or crashed out. Lazy content won't get you far. Remember that. Enjoy this episode. Aim for creativityHappy Birthday Uncle Hargus!!

Az információ még nem tudás. Tudomány és hírérzékenység. A magyar médiából eltűntek a szakújságírók. Az 1,5 celsius fok csak egy politikai termék. Erdőpoltika és klímaváltozás. Klímatudomány a tények utáni világ viharában – Tudományostények a közbeszédben és a döntéshozatalban címmel rendezett nemrég kerekasztal beszélgetést a Green Policy Center. Magyarországon ma már nemcsak a klímaváltozás fizikai hatásaival kell szembenéznünk, hanem azzal adezinformációs zajjal is, amelyben a tudományos alapú megközelítések gyakran háttérbe szorulnak. Egy olyan korszakban, ahol a kognitív torzítások és a véleménybuborékok alapjaiban rengetik meg a tényekbe vetett hitet, a hiteles kommunikáció sorskérdéssé vált.A beszélgetésünk során a szakértők beszéltek arról:--- Hogyan lehet hatékonyan képviselni a tudományos alapúmegközelítéseket egy olyan világban, ahol a zaj és a dezinformáció gyakran elnyomja a tényeket? --- Hogyan lehet a tudomány üzeneteit a döntéshozatalba bevinni?--- Miként érhetők el a fiatalabb generációk, és hogyanépíthető újjá a tudományba vetett társadalmi bizalom? 1953-ban a vorkutai munkatáborban Krisztust vállalva fejezte be földi pályafutását Csépes János görögkatolikus áldozópap, aki a szovjet diktatúra alatt is hű maradt egyházához, hitéhez. De mi történik egy családdal, ahol a hősies helytállás nemcsak történelem, hanem a mindennapok része? Hogyan válik a leszármazottak számára a „távoli vértanú” hús-vér példaképpé és közbenjáróvá? János atya dédunokájával, dr. Dudás-Feczák Donáta tisztelendő asszonnyal beszélgetünk, aki bepillantást enged a hitvalló családok titkaiba és abba a különös kegyelembe, amely a múlt feldolgozásán keresztül ma is gyógyítja a szíveket. Prawo i Sprawiedliwość weszło w nowy etap politycznej ofensywy.

The boys are back for 2026, and they are not easing into it gently. Born to Watch kicks off the new year with a full-blooded dive into one of the most aggressively 80s action films ever put on VHS shelves, Walter Hill's Extreme Prejudice (1987). Cowboy hats, cocaine, mercenaries, sweat, testosterone and a whole lot of unexplained shoulder shots, this one has it all. In this Extreme Prejudice (1987) Review, Whitey, Gow and Damo reunite as the A-team and take on a film that feels like The A-Team pilot collided head-on with a dusty Western, then detonated somewhere on the Texas–Mexico border. At the centre is Nick Nolte at peak brooding intensity, playing a stone-faced Texas Ranger chasing his childhood friend, now a drug-running psychopath in a pristine white suit, played with unhinged gusto by Powers Boothe.Directed by action legend Walter Hill, Extreme Prejudice is the kind of movie that barely pauses for breath. Secret military units officially declared dead, renegade majors, bank robberies, double-crosses, unnecessary nudity and a final act so chaotic it feels like an entire missing movie has been cut out, which, as the boys discover, is pretty much exactly what happened. The cast reads like an 80s action villain roll call. Michael Ironside growls his way through another morally questionable authority role, Clancy Brown looms menacingly, William Forsythe perfects the art of being deeply hateable, and a young Larry B Scott pops in an action film after Revenge of the Nerds turned him into a cult comedy icon. Add in Maria Conchita Alonso, singing badly on purpose, and you have a film bursting at the seams with characters who all look like they should be in different movies. As always, the boys break it down properly. Overs and unders are debated, including the uncomfortable realisation that Extreme Prejudice may make perfect sense if you're sixteen and not at all if you're over forty. There's deep discussion about whether Nick Nolte smiles even once in the entire film, spoiler, he does not, and whether anyone in the 80s understood centre-mass shooting. The Nut-Tuck-Yourself SAG Awards get a workout, with Nolte's pre-Prince of Tides physique under the microscope, and the Snorbs Report pops up exactly where you expect it to. Box office numbers are crunched, Walter Hill's career is put into context, and the boys try to work out how a film with this cast, this director and this level of explosive excess somehow lost money.Film School for F-Wits returns with a look at Hill's obsession with male-driven action cinema, while Hit, Sleeper and Dud for 1987 reminds everyone just how stacked that year really was, from Predator and Lethal Weapon to the absolute disaster that was Revenge of the Nerds II.Add in listener feedback, voicemail chaos, bird-related accusations, corn beef confessions, and a reminder that Born to Watch never takes movies, or itself, too seriously, and you've got the perfect way to start the year. This is sweat-soaked, ridiculous, deeply flawed 80s action cinema, and the boys wouldn't have it any other way.JOIN THE CONVERSATIONIs Extreme Prejudice peak 80s action excess, or just glorious nonsense?Does Nick Nolte smile even once in this movie? Is the final act pure chaos genius, or a missing half-hour of film?Listen now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or at BornToWatch.com.auBorn to Watch, because some movies demand to be watched, argued over and mildly roasted.#BornToWatch #ExtremePrejudice #80sActionMovies #WalterHill #NickNolte #ActionMoviePodcast #CultAction #VHSClassics #MoviePodcast #80sCinema

Jack's joins the boys to chat about The Chicken Sisters Season 2, Episode 3: Daddy's Home, Y'allABOUT THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E03Amanda, Nancy, and Gus try to mend fences following their Ultimate Kitchen Clash episode's airing, and Mae enlists Sabrina's help with wedding planning.AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E03:August 24, 2025 | Hallmark ChannelCAST & CREW OF THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E03:Schuyler Fisk as AmandaGenevieve Angelson as MaeLea Thompson as NancyWendie Malick as GusMargo Martindale as NarratorRukiya Bernard as SabrinaCaitlin Howden as ShawnaBRAN'S THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E03 SYNOPSIS:We get a flashback of Gus falling for Clayton. She fell for him despite him being one of Frannie's boys. It shows him leaving her while she was pregnant, and she never saw him again.Fast forward to the present: Clayton's back, looking dang good. It's Sunday, and everyone is at church — including Frank Jr. — as the pastor talks about forgiveness. After church, down in the fellowship hall, Mae and Shawna try to convince Amanda to go on a date with Officer Eddie. She reluctantly agrees when he shoots his shot.Frank Jr. walks up, tells his mom, Amanda, and Mae off, and storms out.Meanwhile, Linzey complains to her mom about how annoying Frankie's boyfriend, Dud, is. Sabrina launches into a “momalogue” about how everything that happens in life shapes you and makes you a more interesting person… or at least, that's the point. The mayor stops Nancy from leaving and tells her that if she wants the town to fix the broken train arm, she'll need to gather 300 signatures.Clayton tries to talk to his daughter Mae, but it's awkward. He tells her he's her dad, and they sit down for a conversation.Later, Nancy catches Gus hoarding stuff in the closet. Gus admits she's freaking out because Mae's dad is back in town. As Nancy helps her clean, she mentions she might be going on a trip for a couple of months with the pastor. Gus doesn't take it well — she's grown to really love being close to Nancy after hating her her whole life.Frankie and Linzey hang out, and Frankie reveals a secret: she started a social media account to showcase her mom's artwork. She also admits she and Dud haven't even kissed yet. Instead of seizing the moment, Linzey says, “Let's go get you kissed, then.”Amanda's date with Eddie ends early when duty calls. Sergio happens to walk in to pick up food, and Amanda invites him to sit. Afterwards, they share a long hug — clearly tempted to kiss — but part ways.Later, Linzey rings Dud's doorbell and runs, giving Frankie and Dud their first kiss.Mae thanks her mom for calling Clayton and bringing him to town. The episode ends with Clayton knocking on Gus's door, apologizing for not being there.
Lock, load, and prepare for a ballistic ride. This week, the Born to Watch crew take on the movie that brought Keanu Reeves roaring back into the action spotlight and set a new standard for gun-fu carnage with their John Wick (2014) Review.Whitey, G Man, Damo, and returning guest Bones gather in the "Red Circle Russian Baths" to break down this lean, mean revenge machine. The premise is simple: they killed his puppy, they stole his car, and now John Wick is going to kill absolutely everyone. What follows is 101 minutes of exquisitely choreographed violence, ruthless headshots, and underworld world-building that's as fascinating as it is stylish. The boys kick things off with an "overs and unders" rewatch count, Bones leading the charge with a double-digit tally, Damo admitting he was late to the Wick party, and G Man revealing this was only his second full viewing. Whitey takes us back to his last days running a video shop in 2014, when he first discovered the movie on DVD and immediately knew it was something special. From there, it's a high-calibre conversation covering the sequels (John Wick 2 gets big love, John Wick 3 cops a length warning, and John Wick 4 is called out for testing bladders at nearly three hours). They crunch the numbers on the original film's body count, 84 kills for Wick alone, and swap favourite takedowns, from the Red Circle massacre to the infamous knife-to-the-chest finisher. But John Wick isn't just about spraying bullets. The team dive into what makes it different: the cool, calculated underworld mythology of The Continental, the gold coin economy, and the assassin's code that adds sophistication to the chaos. They agree that the "no business on Continental grounds" rule is a masterstroke, and that Ian McShane's Winston brings the perfect mix of charm and menace.Keanu Reeves' career gets its own spotlight, with nods to Point Break, Speed, The Matrix, and even the roles he almost played (Platoon, Starship Troopers). Supporting cast members also get their flowers: Michael Nyqvist's quietly menacing Viggo, Alfie Allen's punchable rich-kid villainy, Willem Dafoe's sniper guardian angel, and a surprise cameo from wrestling giant Kevin Nash.In true Born to Watch fashion, the chat spirals into side quests: hot takes on Taken's influence on modern revenge films, debates over whether Russians are cinema's ultimate gangsters, and an oddly passionate discussion on Japanese onsens and Russian bathhouses (including the etiquette of washing before soaking with strangers). They also unpack critical reception, David Stratton's dismissive "all gun battles" take versus The New York Times' praise for its style, wit, and box office performance, noting how word of mouth turned a modest $86 million return into the launchpad for a billion-dollar franchise.Signature segments return in force:Hit, Sleeper, Dud, Swinger – with Interstellar and Edge of Tomorrow as hits, Frank as the sleeper, Dumb and Dumber To as the dud, and Pompeii roasted as a "swinger" that belongs in cinematic ash.Snobs Report Special – veering gloriously off-topic to Alexandra Daddario's career-making scene in True Detective.Question Time – covering everything from the realism of Wick's "magic pills" to whether Iosef's death was anticlimactic, and what exactly makes a headshot so satisfying.Through it all, the crew's affection for John Wick is undeniable. They celebrate its stripped-back storytelling, grounded stunt work, and unrelenting pace, while acknowledging its few stumbles. It's the perfect mix of 80s-style simplicity and modern fight choreography, proof that a revenge story, told well, never goes out of style. If you're a fan of tight, furious action films with a killer lead, a colourful rogues' gallery, and a fictional criminal underworld you want to explore (but not live in), this is the Born to Watch episode for you.JOIN THE CONVERSATIONIs John Wick the best modern action franchise or just a stylish headshot marathon?Which kill in the Red Circle nightclub is your all-time favourite? Is killing the puppy the single most effective way to make an audience cheer for revenge?Drop us a voicemail at https://www.borntowatch.com.au and be part of the show!Listen to the full episode now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your pods.#JohnWick #KeanuReeves #MoviePodcast #ActionMovies #BornToWatch #GunFu #RevengeMovies #CultAction #FilmReview #PopCulture #borntowatchpodcast
