November is "National Gratitude Month." What better time than to bring our friend Philip Bennett back on the show to discuss just how important it is for leadership (and not just in the contact center) to be grateful for their agents? We're going to learn just how big of an impact ungrateful leadership can have on your contact center, and as a result, your entire brand. We're not just talking about hurt feelings and poor culture; we're talking lost revenue and lost brand loyalty. Tune in to learn why you should ALWAYS be grateful for your contact center agents. [3:31 - 5:21] What gratitude looks like in the call center and how we can properly show gratitude to our agents. [10:19 - 12:40] Having ungrateful leadership will lead to a sense of resentment and disengaged employees, which will trickle down to customers. [15:36 - 17:33] When customers are calling in, they are usually frustrated and they can put that frustration onto the agent. The conversation needs to be turned around so that the frustration is directed at the company and not at the agent personally. [22:52 - 24:38] We should be looking for ways to make our agents' jobs easier. If we can make their jobs easier to do, then it will be easier for them to want to stay. As always, thanks for tuning in! To listen to a recording of this and other episodes, visit vistio.io/podcasts. And to join our show live each week, go to vistio.io/cxlive.

Welcome to the last day of November which, unbeknownst to me, is apparently National Gratitude Month. If you saw my post on Facebook a couple of days ago, you saw a picture of my kitty Leesi lying on my shoulder, and of course she saw the title. She loved me, then she bit me. Today, first I'll share the story, then 2 reasons why it's hard to be grateful, and finally 3 tips on how to be grateful. I've been making it a point to be and feel more grateful. This month is National Gratitude Month, and we also celebrate Thanksgiving. It's time to focus on how to be and feel more grateful. I will talk about ways to find gratitude in your life, even when it feels difficult and challenging. What if you spent 365 days focused on solely making your dream a reality? This is what we're going to do in The Dangerous Woman Mastermind The Year of You. You and nine other women will spend an entire year focusing on your biggest goals, along with deep level coaching, support, and massive amounts of action and accountability. We start in January and registration to join the group is open now. Episode Highlights: [01:32] How can we feel thankful when times are difficult? [01:57] Choose to be grateful. Intentionally set out to find gratitude in your life. Put thought, time and action into it. [03:33] Looking at life's difficulty in a different way will put you in a completely different mindset. [03:58] Begin to seek out ways to serve others that are suffering. Set aside your problems and take the time to be present for someone else. [04:52] Ways to implement gratitude practice in your life. Start noticing your complaints and follow them up with a statement of gratitude. [05:27] Intentional gratitude. Allow yourself to express your feelings, and then follow it up with something positive. [07:01] I caught myself complaining about having to take my children to all of their sports events, then I realized that eventually they'd be out of the house, and I wouldn't have these opportunities. I became grateful for the carpool time. [08:40] Look at your life and see how the complaints of one-season becomes the longings of another. [09:06] Journaling is a great practice for gratitude. Make a point to write out three to five things that you are grateful for. [09:51] You could also create a gratitude jar. Start with intention and make it part of your dangerous woman manifesto. Did you know that showing gratitude is actually a tool you can use to reconnect with lost joy? Research shows that acts of kindness and gratitude positively impact our well-being. In scientific studies, people who practice gratitude exhibit lower levels of stress and depression, cope better with adversity, and sleep better. Gratitude has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy and compassion, and even improve mood. It can decrease blood pressure and the stress hormone cortisol, which directly impacts stress levels. Physiologically, gratitude can positively change your brain. (You read that right!) Practicing gratitude boosts serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters in the brain that give you feelings of satisfaction and well-being, and cause the pleasure/reward centers in your brain to light up. In today's episode we're looking at gratitude with a new lens. We chat about what gratitude is, is not, and how to practice it in new ways so you can start experiencing all these amazing health benefits. Need one more reason to listen? Welcome to November 9, 2022 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate the season of gratitude and a regional favorite. Most people agree that the Thanksgiving meal is one they look forward to all year. And while the tradition of what's on the menu may vary from home to home, the secret ingredient that makes every meal delicious is gratitude. Perhaps you've noticed how counting your blessings makes everything in life appear sweeter, even when it's hard to see the silver lining. When life goes off course try keeping an attitude of gratitude. It's not an essential cooking ingredient, but it is one of life's best kept secrets. During National Gratitude Month, we invite you to watch as the things you're grateful for begin to multiply. If you're not from Philadelphia, you've probably never heard of Scrapple. This regional favorite was brought to Philly by immigrants from Germany, where it was popular with rural communities. Farmers butchered their hogs, and used most of the meat for sausages or bacon, but all of the remaining parts were made into scrapple. The traditional version was made with meat only, but Americans combine it with cornmeal or buckwheat, and form it into a loaf. This is then sliced and fried, and typically served as a breakfast side dish. Today the recipe may also include beef, chicken or turkey. You will see it topped with applesauce, ketchup, maple syrup or horseradish, though not all at the same time. On National Scrapple Day, celebrate by trying something different, which may just be easier now that you know how the sausage is made. I'm Anna Devere and I'm Marlo Anderson. November is National Family Caregiver Month and National Gratitude Month. National Gratitude Month encourages us to embrace the power of gratitude. Gratitude is more than simply saying “thank you.” Gratitude's amazing powers have the ability to shift us from focusing on the negative to appreciating what is positive in our lives. Practicing daily gratitude gives us a deeper connection to ourselves, the world around us, and to our spirituality. Research has shown that gratitude can enhance our moods, decrease stress, and drastically improve our overall level of health and wellbeing. On average, grateful people tend to have fewer stress-related illnesses and experience less depression and lowered blood pressure, they are more physically fit, they are happier, have a higher income, more satisfying personal and professional relationships, and will be better liked.National Family Caregivers Month recognizes the dedication of family members who provide round the clock care to loved ones. When medical conditions demand attention, family steps into roles, they are often unprepared to accept. They become caregivers instead of partners or friends. Sometimes this change occurs suddenly or over time.Caregivers rarely have time for themselves. There's always another thing to be done. However, a caregiver requires rest, too.So this month, I want to spend time on The Caregiver Cup episodes to talk about one of the best practices you can incorporate into your daily routine and that is gratitude. Gratitude is the human way of acknowledging the good things of life. But you just can't say I am grateful and you see positivity and feel happier. It requires a practice and you need to want to do it. It's a muscle you have to build. Then it requires practice to do it naturally and the result will lead to a mindset that focuses on positivity, good and more happiness. “Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions.” Zig ZiglarBio, history, purpose Support the showThank you for listening. Cultivating joy can seem difficult, especially after more than a year of social isolation, political turmoil, sickness, sadness, and other challenges to your well-being. We get it. But did you know that showing gratitude for others is actually a tool you can use to reconnect with lost joy. Research shows that acts of kindness and gratitude positively impact our well-being. In scientific studies, people who practice gratitude exhibit lower levels of stress and depression, cope better with adversity, and sleep better. Kindness has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy and compassion, and even improve mood. It can decrease blood pressure and the stress hormone cortisol, which directly impacts stress levels. Physiologically, kindness can positively change your brain. (You read that right!) Being kind boosts serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters in the brain that give you feelings of satisfaction and well-being, and cause the pleasure/reward centers in your brain to light up. In today's episode we're looking at gratitude with a new lens. We chat about what gratitude is, is not, and how to practice it in new ways so you can start experiencing all these amazing health benefits. Need one more reason to listen? November is National Gratitude Month. So what are you waiting for? Listen now.

November is National Gratitude Month! If the only prayer we ever said was thank you, that would be enough. In this moving and deeply personal episode, Brenda bares her heart as she shares intimate details about her family and prayer life. Her "Book of Promises” is a journal she's kept for over a decade with scriptures that she speaks aloud daily over her her life which breathe new strength into her spirit. Brenda shares, “My ‘Book of Promises' was inspired by God and His blessings, and all of the things He's done in my life, and things I want to see come to pass. I started this book when my young family was coming together and I was very grateful, but I was in ‘Mom-mode' wondering, what's next? I've always had this burning desire and understanding that God has planted these seeds inside of me and I'm supposed to reach out and encourage people; that is such a huge part of my heart. I was frustrated because I wasn't in faith. I opened up my Bible, and I started writing down scriptures that resonated with where I was at, and I started speaking them aloud over my life daily." It's important to chronicle all of the miraculous things God has done for us over the years because if we don't take a moment of gratitude, we tend to forget our answered prayers when we're enjoying a time of prosperity and rest. Brenda reflects, “Prayers never die. They stay alive and active, and they're sharper than any double-edged sword. If we really understood the power and principle behind prayer, we would pray with fervency and more often. I often refer back to my breakthrough moments in my “Book of Promises” when life throws me a curveball. Looking back on those scriptures remind me of God's faithfulness." As you head into the Thanksgiving holiday, what are you grateful for? What scriptures would you include in your "Book of Promises?" God's word never returns void.

Im honoured to begin Novemeber, National Gratitude Month with Meg!
Experts say listing what you're grateful for is a great tool in reducing stress. And with November being National Gratitude Month, it's a great time for Kellie and Allen to take inventory. Kellie also has a great idea for Thanksgiving that could be passed down for generations to come. Goop is out with its annual list of holiday gift items and who knew Gwyneth Paltrow was so kinky?? Allen's ears perked up over one especially lewd gift idea. And Kellie loses it over one gift that should NEVER be given on Baby Jesus' birthday!! Allen reads a little listener mail, including a request from a soon-to-be mom looking for advice. Thank you to this podcast's sponsors! CrateJoy!
