An Irish band formed just a few years ago, Devil Take the Women, the name taken from "Whiskey in the Jar". The band is made up of Lauren on acoustic guitar and main vocals, Megan on fiddle and vocals, and Chris on the drums. The Irish bands and musicians I have seen and heard about in Pittsburgh have been around for many years. So to have a new band is pretty cool. My family and I, plus our friend Abby, saw Devil Take the Women for the first time on July 18 at Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle Irish Pub, and it was a great show. They have lots of energy, and a great stage personality. They throw in a few non - Irish songs from time to time, but most of the time it's Irish, which is good for us who have not been happy with the decline in the amount of Irish music played in the pubs for a number of years. We will be seeing them again, and hopefully get some more friends to join us." //The Wire//2100Z September 2, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: SABOTAGE ATTACK TARGETS SECOND GERMAN ELECTRICAL SUBSTATION. SHOOTING REPORTED BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AGENCIES IN UKRAINE. IRANIAN ATTACKS CONTINUE OVERNIGHT, TARGETING AMERICAN BASES.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE-----  -International Events-Middle East: Last night's attacks by Iran were somewhat successful, with strikes being reported at the airport in Erbil. An Iranian Shahed-type drone also took out the Persistent Threat Detection System (PTDS) balloon at this location, in addition to striking the fuel point. In Bahrain, several Shahed-type drones targeted the former headquarters of 5th Fleet in Manama and Sheikh Isa Airbase to the south. Several locations were also targeted in Kuwait, with unknown success. As of this report, the United States has not yet responded to the round of Iranian targeting conducted overnight.Ukraine: Overnight a small arms skirmish was reported in Kiev, which reportedly involved two different Ukrainian governmental agencies engaging each other in the street. Allegedly, the Security Service of Ukraine (the SBU, which is like a uniformed and militarized version of the FBI) detained Stepan Kaplunov who was the deputy commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps, a unit of ethnic Russians fighting on Ukraine's side during the war. Kaplunov was staying at a residential building in Kiev for Independence Day celebrations last week, when he was reportedly abducted for unknown reasons. After this kidnapping, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (the GUR, or the main military intelligence unit) launched an investigation into why the SBU took him, which resulted in a scuffle and subsequent shootout at the scene of the earlier abduction. One GUR officer is dead, and several others were wounded during the initial engagement.Analyst Comment: As one might expect, Ukrainian sources are downplaying this incident, and Russian sources are trying to amplify it, so determining the truth is challenging. However the incident did take place, and the small arms engagement in the street between these two agencies was captured on film.As it stands, video evidence from the time of the shooting indicates that tensions were high between the SBU and the GUR right before shots were fired. Both agencies were arguing with each other, with the SBU refusing to allow the GUR into the crime scene, and a standoff situation emerged. As the agencies continued arguing and fighting with each other, eventually the altercation became physical, and devolved into a shooting. After the shooting, the standoff situation continued throughout the night and the next morning. Eventually, the SBU ended up releasing Kaplunov, ending the incident. Several prominent Ukrainian leaders have called for an investigation into what happened, and for more details to be made public.Germany: Yesterday afternoon, another electrical substation was targeted by malign actors conducting sabotage operations. Locals observed an explosion and arcing at the Bergheim Power Station in western Germany, shortly before the power went out. Local authorities state that 6x rocket launch sites were located in a field near the second substation that was attacked, continuing the same attack vector as witnessed at a different power station yesterday.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In Germany, the attacks on electrical substations over the past two days have been substantial. In short, these attacks were probably not carried out by amateurs. Locals report that upwards of twenty separate rockets were launched over the top of the substation near Berlin. These rockets were not fireworks, but specifically constructed devices built for the task. These rockets were also trailing thin copper wire, which was intended to cause electrical shorts.This is not entirely a new tactic, after all the United States pioneered this tactic of taking out enemy substations with "blackout bombs" that operate very similarly. Cruise missiles were used to deploy such devices over Baghdad during the initial invasion of Iraq in 2003, with thin graphite wires being trailed over the top of exposed substation transformers and electrical connectors. More recently, an unidentified malign actor also attempted to target an electrical substation in Pennsylvania back in 2020, which resulted in widespread media coverage at the time.Malign actors using almost thirty rockets to achieve the same effect in Germany is a substantial escalation that is not likely to have been undertaken by non-state actors. Germany is infamous for having some of the more serious ecoterrorists around the world, who have conducted IED attacks, train derailings, and other similar attacks on electrical infrastructure. A six week jury trial is about to get underway in California, which could pose the biggest threat yet to Meta's operations. A coalition of US states have accused the parent company of Facebook and Instagram of putting profits ahead of children's safety, by deliberately designing platforms to be addictive to young users. A Meta spokesperson said the claims were "unsubstantiated", and the company stood by its record of creating strong protection for teenagers. The states are seeking upwards of $1 trillion from Meta. Also: President Trump's envoy and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has failed to overturn Israel's objections to a US backed Gaza peace plan after two days of talks in the Middle East. The US President has also threatened to bomb Oman - a US ally - if it "gets in the way" of his administration's own talks with Iran. Fifa has sacked its chief operating officer Kevin Lamour, weeks after he criticised the organisation's president, Gianni Infantino. As Russia and Ukraine trade more deadly strikes, the deputy head of Ukraine's military intelligence service, GUR, tells the BBC he expects the coming winter months to be harder for civilians than last year. Russia's prominent anti-war politician Lev Shlosberg has been sentenced to eleven years in prison for criticising the conflict in Ukraine. Witnesses have begun giving testimony in the long awaited murder trial of the American rapper, Tupac Shakur. La parte más interna de nosotros,  es esa energía que nos ayuda como un "Gurú", como Dios, y hoy les quiero platicar y profundizar sobre como podemos llegar a esa energía, lo que quisiera decirles es que es REAL y EXISTE. Qué increíble pensar que tenemos dentro de nosotros algo que nos está guiando.    Nos vemos dentro, Durga Stef. 

El otro día me pasó algo curioso. En menos de 24 horas, tres videos diferentes aparecieron en mi feed hablando del mismo tema: el fin de la Marca Personal. Mi primer instinto fue ignorarlos (ya sabes, otro título clickbait más). Pero había algo especial. Los tres venían de creadores que respeto, y los tres llegaban a conclusiones similares desde puntos de vista diferentes. Lo que descubrí analizándolos me hizo replantear mi futuro como creador junto con mi marca personal.Recuerda que la versión de video y audio de este episodio amplía el contenido de esta entrada escrita.¿Ya estás suscrito?Pero antes de enterrarla, déjame que te cuente. Estaba revisando mi feed de LinkedIn cuando me encontré con un post que decía: "La marca personal está muerta, ahora es el momento de ser auténtico". Me hizo gracia porque, ¿no se suponía que la marca personal era precisamente eso, ser auténtico? La marca personal nació como una promesa de libertad. Era la idea de que cualquiera podía construir una presencia en internet que le permitiera monetizar su conocimiento y experiencia. Sonaba genial: Sé tú mismo, comparte lo que sabes, y la gente te pagará por ello.El problema es que nos olvidamos de algo fundamental: cuando intentas convertir tu personalidad en un producto, algo se pierde en el proceso.Lo auténtico se empieza a convertir en algo dirigido por likes y follows, y la conexión genuina se transforma en una estrategia de marketing.Al final la marca personal se termina convirtiendo en un puñado de plantillas, una foto de estudio y un nicho al que explotar con mensajes y contenidos que están más que refritos.Por eso hemos visto tantos "gurús" que parecen clones unos de otros. Mismas poses en Instagram, mismo tipo de contenido, mismas promesas. Se ha convertido en una fórmula, y las fórmulas funcionan pero su vida es limitada.2025 no será el año de las marcas personales hechas con un cursito que te bajaste en PDF.Será el año en que lo auténtico comience a recobrar valor.La razón: la gente está hasta las narices.Está cansada de perfiles perfectos, de promesas huecas y de contenido que parece salido de una fábrica de trabajo en cadena.Ahora bien, sería injusto decir que nadie ha tenido éxito con la marca personal. Los primeros en llegar, los que realmente innovaron, construyeron imperios. Empezaron cuando el mercado estaba virgen y, lo más importante, no se quedaron atrapados en la fórmula de la marca personal.Otros perfiles que también han sacado mucho rendimiento a la marca personal son los propios Gurús del Personal Branding.Ya los conoces, Gurús cuyo negocio es venderte el curso de cómo crear tu marca personal y no los saques de ahí porque no hay mucho más.Cómo ver que el modelo está rotoSi miras tu feed de LinkedIn o Instagram, verás el patrón:* Plantilla de carrusel de Linkedin con el mismo diseño/contenido* Los mismos consejos recauchutados* Promesas de "Gana 10k al mes en menos de una semana"* La misma foto con los brazos cruzados y sonrisa de "experto"El problema no es solo la saturación. Es que el propio concepto de marca personal se ha convertido en una cárcel donde nos encerramos nosotros solitos cuando entramos en este mundillo.* Tu personalidad de marca te obliga a mantener un personaje y salir de ese traje es complicado sin romper alguna costura.* Tu nicho te limita a darle vueltas y vueltas a una misma idea, por el mero hecho de ser consistente en la temática.Pero el cambio ya está aquíEl modelo actual de marca personal está agotado.Y no solo porque la tecnología haya cambiado y todo sea más accesible para el creador, más bien es que la gente se está cansando de lo que es o parece artificial.Cansada de:* Contenido que parece salido de una fábrica* Promesas grandilocuentes sin sustancia* Perfiles que parecen clonados entre síY aquí es donde está la oportunidad.Mientras la mayoría sigue optimizando para algoritmos y métricas vanidosas, se está abriendo un espacio enorme para la autenticidad y el trabajo con un poco de alma.Esta es mi apuesta: La conexión humana real es lo que marcará la diferencia.¿Pero la marca personal entonces está muerta muerta?La respuesta no es tan simple como un sí o un no.Lo que está muriendo es una forma específica de entender la marca personal. Un modelo que ya no conecta con lo que la gente necesita y busca en 2025.Lo que está muriendo (y con razón):* La autopromoción constante* El postureo digital* Los posts motivacionales vacíos* La obsesión por las métricas* El "síndrome del experto"Es como esas tiendas de DVD que seguían abiertas cuando Netflix ya estaba en todas partes. Podían seguir funcionando, pero el mundo ya había cambiado.¿Qué hay entonces después de la Marca Personal?Lo que está naciendo y viene a llenar este hueco es algo que podemos llamar “trabajo vital” y tiene algunas de las siguientes características:Primero, la voz propia. Durante mucho tiempo nos han vendido que necesitamos ser expertos absolutos para crear y compartir contenido. La realidad es que tu perspectiva única, tu forma de ver y entender las cosas, es lo que te diferencia de cualquier otro creador.Segundo, el valor real. Estamos saturados de información. La gente ya no busca más datos ni más consejos genéricos. Temas tratados en profundidad y buscan transformación: quieren ver cómo aplicar ese conocimiento para cambiar su realidad.Tercero, las relaciones genuinas. Los números han dejado de ser relevantes. Un seguidor que realmente implementa lo que compartes, que interactúa y crece con tu contenido, vale más que mil que solo dan like y siguen scrolleando.Cuarto, la especialización con propósito. Olvídate de buscar nichos solo porque son rentables. La verdadera oportunidad está en encontrar ese espacio donde tu experiencia personal y tus ganas de seguir aprendiendo se encuentran y generan un contenido útil para el resto.Y quinto, la adaptación con cabeza. El mundo digital no para de cambiar, pero eso no significa que debas saltar a cada nueva tendencia o plataforma. La clave está en adaptarte de forma inteligente, manteniendo tu esencia y tus valores intactos.La pregunta correctaNo deberíamos preguntarnos si la marca personal está muerta.La pregunta es: ¿Estás construyendo algo que realmente importa?Si todo esto que te he contado resuena contigo, vas a llegar a un momento de transición.Y llegamos a un momento de transición. No será fácil.Requiere valentía dejar de hacer lo que "funciona" para hacer lo que importa.Y todo esto significa:* Publicar menos pero mejor* Alejarte de fórmulas probadas* Arriesgarte a que no todo "escale"* Mostrar el proceso, no solo el resultado* Construir relaciones reales, no solo númerosCómo hacer la transición (sin morir en el intento)No voy a venderte una fórmula mágica. No existe.Pero sí puedo compartir un marco de trabajo que te ayude a hacer esta transición de forma sostenible.1. Revisa tu trabajo actual Abre tu perfil y hazte estas preguntas:* ¿Cuánto de este contenido seguirá siendo valioso en un año?* ¿Qué posts has publicado por obligación vs. por convicción?* ¿Qué contenido te hace sentir realmente orgulloso?2. Define tu trabajo vital (IKIGAI) Tu trabajo vital no es un nicho. Es la intersección entre:* Lo que te apasiona explorar* Lo que se te da naturalmente bien* Lo que el mundo necesita* Lo que puedes monetizar de forma ética3. Puedes empezar a connstruir activos como tu biblioteca digital En lugar de crear contenido efímero, empieza a construir una biblioteca de recursos valiosos:* Documentos de referencia* Guías prácticas* Sistemas y procesos* Experiencias documentadas4. This week, The Times of Israel deputy editor Amanda Borschel-Dan speaks with Rachel Gur, the deputy CEO of the grassroots Lobby 99. Today, as part of the "what is good for Europe is good for Israel" import reform, the Knesset ministerial committee for tackling the high cost of living unanimously approved that European standards will apply automatically and will override the need for domestic regulatory standards approval. This comes after a recent report that food and beverage prices in Israel are 52 percent higher than the average among developed countries, second only to South Korea, according to comparative consumer price data released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in June and reported by Channel 12. Prices for bread and grains in Israel were found to be among the highest in OECD countries, at 49% above the average, with only Swiss prices coming in higher. Similarly, Israeli prices for dairy and eggs were the second most expensive among the 38 OECD countries, at 64% more expensive than the average, second to South Korea. And while some of these costs are linked to the ongoing war against Hamas, most are not and are rather linked to a dearth of competition in Israel's "free market" economy. Currently serving as the deputy CEO of Lobby 99 -- "the people's lobby" -- Gur moved to Israel from the United States at age 17 and served in the IDF Spokesperson's Unit. After demobbing, she earned an L.L.B. and B.A. in political science from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya and an L.L.M. in Legal Theory from New York University Law School. (She also married The Times of Israel's senior analyst Haviv Rettig Gur and had four children.)
