The National Space Centre (NSC) has launched Ireland's first Space Academy, a pioneering educational initiative aimed at Engineers, IT professionals, and network industry personnel. Supported by Space Industry Skillnet, an enterprise-led training network for Irish companies delivering technology and services to the global space market, this innovative curriculum is designed to equip Irish firms with the skills necessary to develop commercial applications within the rapidly growing space economy. The NSC Space Academy offers a comprehensive range of courses spanning from one to five days and specifically tailored to provide a core understanding of space communications and satellite applications. "More spacecraft were launched in 2023 than in the entire prior 50 years of the space age," explained Bruce Hannah, CTO at National Space Centre and Head of Education at the Space Academy. "There are over 10,000 satellites now orbiting Earth, delivering data for industries ranging from communications to humanitarian aid. The commercial landscape for space communication and satellite applications is a huge opportunity for Ireland's technology and engineering companies." Courses are based on-site at the National Space Centre in Elfordstown, Cork. The NSC is home to the 32-meter Big Dish, an iconic piece of Irish telecommunications history and the origin of satellite communications development in Europe. Today, the site is home to myriad ground stations for satellite applications and space communications, offering students an exciting and richly relevant context for their studies. Among the unique course offerings is the one-day Space Applications Project Day, a team-building event focused on the supported conception, drafting, and design of a commercial space application. This hands-on experience encourages innovation and collaboration, key elements in driving the future of space technology. More traditional courses include Satellite System Architecture, Radio Signals and Network Design for Space Communications, and Commercial and Non-Commercial Space Applications. Completion of five Space Academy modules will qualify learners for the newly accredited NSC Space Academy Certification in Space Engineering Essentials. Courses are supported by Space Industry Skillnet, which offers a limited number of subsidies for course costs for employees of private companies, sole traders and consultants. All courses are also eligible for Continuing Professional Development credits for those who need CPD hours. Courses are offered six times a year, and dates, registration information, and enrollment can be found at https://nationalspacecentre.eu/courses/.

ICYMI we'll give you the rundown. Once hashing power on the Proof-of-Work chain brought mining difficulty to the TTD, total terminal difficulty, it was the end of an era. Reaching TTD triggered the merge of Ethereum's beacon chain into the running chain and began the Proof-of-Stake on Ethereum as beacon chain validators began to provide attestations of the current state. Within the first 8 minutes from the merge, over 100ETH was burned. Block rewards dropped from 2.5ETH to under 0.1ETH per block. And, Ethereum reduced global energy consumption by 0.2% solely as a result of the merge. In this episode, Andrew, Ninaad, and Dan look closely at the importance of creating a win-win situation in Client-3PL relationships.  Fulfillment is a complicated series of actions that eCommerce companies take to deliver orders on time. As Andrew explains, merchants will face complications and challenges such as weather, technology, and labor challenges, especially when warehouses have multiple clients. And when fulfillment providers cannot keep up with brand growth, it can significantly affect customer experience, NPS scores, returns, and refund rates, to name a few. This is why merchants need to focus on building relationships instead of just working with their service providers. As Ninaad, Dan and Andrew discuss, building confidence on both sides includes having accurate invoicing and forecasting, thorough node strategy planning, and even in-person visits. Why is this important? Because the fulfillment side is where you make or break the customer experience and when they're not happy, be ready to face some angry customers…   On this week's episode of the eCom Logistics podcast, find out: ·      Seasonal brands and customer expectations·      Delivery expectation  ·      Outsourcing fulfillment and the relationship  ·      Node Strategy depends on your business   ·      3PL invoicing  ·      SLAs    Mentioned in this episode:Dr. Squatch Tipsy ElvesFulfillment IQShipHawkProShip

Today on Heavy Networking, we discuss NVMe over fabric, where your Ethernet and IP network is the fabric. Many NVMe over fabric discussions focus on what's happening inside the storage packets themselves. This conversation focuses on the network. What does the topology need to be? What are the latency and loss characteristics of an NVMe transport fabric? What QoS tools should you be considering, how do they work, and when should you use them? Our guest for this vendor-neutral conversation is J Metz.

Hello! Being surrounded by people who can support you in all areas of your life is really important to help things flow more easily. It's a concept I learned from Dr. Joanna Martin, founder of One of Many, called Conscious Network Design. It's essential to have a network of people you can rely on for the day-to-day stuff; not simply when you're faced with a crisis. Having this level of personal, practical support is just as important as being on top of your finances and having an emergency fund to get you out of a sticky spot. Examples might include support for promotions at work, or help looking after your children so that you and your other half can enjoy a much-needed date night together. Being alone is no fun and makes everything so much harder. That's why it's so important to have a strong network of people around you — and it's best to get this network in place now. Who in your life right now is there to help you in all the different areas? Nikki x P.S. For help with all things money-mindset related, I'll be opening the doors to my Money Mindset Reset course in just a few weeks' time. This course will help you to lift the lid on your limiting beliefs and clear them so you can get on the path to wealth and abundance. If you feel stuck around money, or would rather do anything but sort your finances out, then this course is definitely for you. To be first to know when it's opening, you can sign up here. There's no obligation to join me, it's just an invitation to find out more when it's available.
