Happy 35th Birthday to the extreme metal album that took Venom into different and interesting directions !!!!From the Ashes of Punk that had warmed the cold and Bleak Newcastle Upon Tyne landscape, comes a monster that was forged in the shadows of the rusty gates of the cemetery that was industry. Unemployment on the cards for most the only way out was Rock and Roll. And from the those ashes rose the Phoenix that is VENOM. And after many years of touring a some of the most seminal albums of the burgeoning NWOBHM movement, it was time for one of the happy band of metal maniacs to move on. Apologies to our listeners in the north of England; it's not your fault that Inside No.9, Cilla Black, the Worst Radio Times Letter of the Month and Clear Sound mode on Simon's TV made us so regionalist! Let's blame a bad mood caused by having to watch the films of Roberta Findlay for this episode. We cover Blood Sisters, Lurkers, Prime Evil, The Oracle and Snuff, while in the Horror Helpdesk we examine how far we can stretch the definition of horror.
On this week's episode, we start the show off paying tribute to Steve Albini and Tommy Viator. We also talk rock and metal news with stories on Ozzy naming favorite guitarist, New tours from the likes of Dark Tranquility, Burton C. Bell, and Coal Chamber as well as some updates on Kerry King. Our two bands you should know artists for this week are Impact Approved and Prime Evil. In 2017, Candice Mama was honored with the Human Beacon of Dignity Award in New York (Columbia University), presented by Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Evelin Lindner, for her significant contribution to forgiveness and reconciliation.Understanding that love and hate cannot coexist in the same space, Candice's story encompasses the forgiveness of Eugene de Kock, a former South African Police colonel, torturer, and assassin, who operated under the apartheid government. De Kock, nicknamed 'Prime Evil,' was sentenced to 212 years in prison on 89 charges, including the murder of Candice's father, Glenack Masilo Mama.Join us as we delve into her journey, the power of forgiveness, and the introspection required to close chapters and embrace new beginnings.

“ So many people are afraid of taking risks. And they are so afraid of betting on themselves just in case they fail. But I've come to realise that people aren't afraid of failure, people are afraid of failing in front of other people. And I think once you take that out of the equation, and you're like, you know what, even if I do fail, I would rather be the person in the ring, fighting for what I want, and falling a few times and stumbling, then be the person in the audience judging and pointing and saying how that person could have done it better. So, I think when you take a risk on yourself, you realise it's really about choosing you and choosing the life you were destined to live. ” Candice Mama Top Five Tips For Harnessing in Power 1. Overcoming difficulties 2. Using pain as fuel 3. Taking a risk on yourself 4. Listening to your intuition 5. Choosing youTIME STAMP SUMMARY01:07 How trauma shapes us 02:51 The story of forgiveness11:32 Failure is a lesson16:15 Summary of the Top Five TipsWhere to find Candice?LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/candice-mama Website http://www.candicemama.com/ Who is Candice Mama?My name is Candice Mama, I was born in 1991 in South Africa a country that was gripped by the grossly violent and oppressive system of Apartheid and this is my story. In September 2014 , The National Prosecuting Authority reached out to my family to enquire about whether or not we would like to meet Eugene de Kock ( a former South African Police colonel, torturer, and assassin, active under the apartheid government. Nicknamed “ Prime Evil” and sentenced to 212 years in prison under 89 charges). As many would imagine, it wasn't a decision we came to without many dinner-table discussions and some trepidation from members of the family. We agreed to schedule our meeting for the following Tuesday. In the days to come, a sense of self-reflection enveloped me. My dad, Glenack Masilo Mama, was brutally killed in a vicious and unjust time in our country's history. My memories of him were nothing but compilations of different people's stories and pictures we collected over time. However, the one thing I knew for sure about my father was that he had been tortured and then burnt to death by a man named Eugene de Kock. I went on to read numerous articles and books about the man dubbed Prime Evil and his legacy, which was that of being the face and embodiment of an unjustifiable system of hate and oppression. Growing up in a house where reading and introspection were encouraged allowed me to be able to contextualise my dad's killing. Which, in my mind, made his death mean something. He died fighting a system and wanting a different country for my brother and myself, which we are extremely fortunate to now be living in. This made me realise I couldn't hate De Kock because love and hate cannot operate in the same space. If I wanted to resent him, I would never be able to fully enjoy the life my dad and so many others willingly or unwillingly died
Featuring: Ammosart, Ashgar, Belghast, Kodra, and Thalen Tonight's show is a bit of a strange one. We had a bunch of absences and at the start of the show, it was just Ammo, Bel, and Thalen. Then as we recorded a wild Ash and Kodra appear, but this does have the effect of causing a few topics to be rehashed. We start talking about the nonsense that Bel is doing where he attempts to fix the episode gap on YouTube and re-releases the original 73 episodes. We dive into Guild Wars 2 and specifically the Living World Season 1 and the current Dragon Bash event. Bel reprises the topic of Diablo Immortal this week and talks about having gotten to level 56 and all of the many monetization traps in that game. Then Thalen talks about his experiences playing Talos Principle and Stanley Parable. Kodra appears and we reprise the Guild Wars 2 topics a bit before Bel dives into a discussion about the universally good changes coming to New World. [00:30] Brooklyn Subway Train Shooting (10 minutes)Yesterday morning, a 62-year-old black man by the name of Frank James shot 10 people on a subway train in Brooklyn, New York. The legacy media neglected to mention his race as reports of the attack emerged, but it is now widely known that Frank James is in fact a black nationalist with a hatred for white people. As Jesse Watters noted on Fox News last night: All the media "ever talk about is race, and when it actually matters … they just leave it out.” [10:25] U.S. Border Under Attack (5 minutes)Biden's border policies are going from bad to much worse. As a Washington Post columnist noted yesterday, “Biden is ready to double down on disaster by lifting Title 42. If Biden does so, he will turn crisis into a catastrophe—both at the border and at the polls.” Why is Biden implementing such catastrophic border policies? [15:55] Biden Crime Family Compromised (13 minutes)Yahoo News journalist Michael Isikoff—the same journalist who promoted the fake Steele dossier—is now raising questions about the counterintelligence vulnerabilities of the Biden crime family. Isikoff is one of many left-wing journalists now wondering if the Biden family has been compromised by a foreign enemy of the United States. [28:05] Bible Study: ‘Try the Spirits' (26 minutes)In his first epistle, the Apostle John instructs members to “try the spirits,” whether they be of God or of the devil. In today's Bible study, we discuss how important it is that we follow John's counsel, recognize Satan's powerful influence, and actively war against him by using the Spirit of God.
Since this is our initial excursion into unfamiliar territory (specifically bands covering songs by a specific artist), we figured what better way to kick things off than for us to pay homage to the artists who have paid homage to the Founding Fathers of Metal, the almighty BLACK SABBATH!!! The beauty of cover songs is the myriad of unusual ways in which they can be performed. Some artists stay faithful to the original down to every last nuance and detail, while others go completely off the reservation altogether and create something uniquely their own while still capturing the spirit and essence of the original. None of that really matters to us: if it's anything Sabbath, we're intrigued and interested. Full stop. Findlaybruary continues this week with PRIME EVIL!!! Starring Christine Moore, Amy Brentano (Who is absolutely a gem in this), Ruth Collins and Mavis Harris, Prime Evil is all about Alexandra as the mysterious Father Thomas grooms her to be her grandfather's human sacrifice for the Winter Solstice, this movie is very, very disjointed with huge amounts of plot happening off screen and only told through exposition. The villains face absolutely no roadblocks or conflict until the climax and despite really solid acting… nobody is given very much to do other than Father Thomas who gets to make out with all of these much, much, much younger women, Ultimately this one is pretty ‘meh'. I love one-stop shopping!
Judith Kelman, well-known mystery novelist, happy to explore the "what-if" of life, discusses becoming a writer and how "Prime Evil" was born. Kelman founded a remarkable program at Sloan Kettering, pairing patients who want to write with authors/mentors.

The media painted him as the arch-villain of the apartheid era and labelled him "Prime Evil". The Truth Commission singled him out as the man who broke the code of silence and forced security policemen to seek amnesty. He was Eugene de Kock, former commander of the Vlakplaas death squad, convicted murderer serving two life sentences and 212 years in jail for apartheid crimes, and amnesty applicant who helped convict former president PW Botha for contempt of the Truth Commission. Eugene de Kock waged war against liberation movements in Namibia, Zimbabwe and Angola in the seventies and eighties. When he returned home to fight the ANC, he said: "My war is only just starting." At Vlakplaas, the colonel led his men from the front. At various amnesty hearings, the prisoner still refused to abandon them. But for his former masters, the politicians and the generals, Eugene de Kock had only bitter venom. Credits: Angie Kapelianis, Darren Taylor, Sally Burdett and Danny Booysen. Saturday night at BotCon unfolded like many previous BotCon Saturday nights. After the traditional dinner reception, many BotCon attendees partook in a fun Casino night accompanied by drinks and other entertainment. Many of us headed to Town & Country's Charlie's bar afterwards. Once the bar closed down, we thought it'd be fun to do an impromptu Seibertron.com Twincast/Podcast recording because, you know, that's always a good idea after a night of drinking and tomfoolery. Many regular Seibertronian BotCon attendees were present ... some of the roster includes Joevill, El Duque, ScottyP, his girlfriend Candace, Rated X, Flux Convoy, Claire, Prime Evil, Mr and Mrs Delicon, and many others. If you were there, please feel free to join our conversation to share your thoughts about the first ever official SEIBERSOCIAL! A word of caution about this episode ... it's a pretty raw episode. It was recorded around midnight on a Saturday night at BotCon after the bar closed. We were all having a really good time. During the episode, there are some ramblings, repeated questions, etc. And we all continued on with having fun while we were recording. It's a light hearted episode that some of you will find very entertaining while some of you will find it very annoying. It's just a carefree episode with a group of Seibertronians recording a moment in time at BotCon 2013. You've been officially warned!
