Welcome back to another episode of the Fantasy Life podcast Today, we've got some juicy player discussions with Chris Allen and Ian Haritz. Let's dive right in. Starting off, Chris shines a spotlight on Geno Smith. With an Underdog ADP of QB16 and a ranking of QB12 by Dwain McFarland, it's clear that his value hasn't taken the proper rise since the draft, especially considering Seattle didn't draft a quarterback and their tight end, JSN, isn't a worry. Next up, Ian highlights Alexander Mattison. Despite an Underdog ADP of RB26, Ian believes Mattison could soar as high as RB17 without Dalvin Cook in the picture. Backing this, he cites Mattison's past performances, such as his stellar Week 17, 2020, performance when he ended up as RB4. However, workload might be an issue as the Vikings ranked 27th in targets to the running back position last year. Chris then discusses Elijah Mitchell, with an Underdog ADP of RB41. Interestingly, despite concerns about CMC splits, Mitchell has a pick value of 93.6 vs. 135.1 in Dwain's ranking. Jaylen Warren is next on Ian's list, with an Underdog ADP of RB46 and a ranking of RB43. The fact that the Steelers didn't draft a running back and that No. 3 RB Benny Snell is still a free agent, might play into Warren's favor. Antonio Gibson is another running back in focus, with Chris noting his Underdog ADP of RB39. Despite Ron Rivera's constant affirmation of giving Gibson more touches, his ranking is a pick value of 100.8 vs. 140.8. Ian then brings up Jerome Ford, with an Underdog ADP of RB58 and a ranking of RB49. As the direct backup to Nick Chubb with Hunt out of the picture, Ford might have an increased role this season, given the reluctance to give Chubb the pass-down work over his career. Turning to wide receivers, Chris talks about Jordan Addison, with an Underdog ADP of WR34 and a Dwain ranking of pick 49.2 vs. 89.7. Ian then discusses Diontae Johnson, who despite having an Underdog ADP of WR38, has a personal ranking of WR24, mainly due to his consistent target distribution. The tight ends aren't left out either, with Chris discussing Pat Freiermuth, who has an Underdog ADP of TE10, but ranks TE8 in Dwain's list. Ian ends with Gerald Everett, who despite having an Underdog ADP of TE20, ranks TE12, courtesy of his career-best marks in 2022. On the latest episode, we continue to explore the long-form format of docu-series by tackling HBO's Hard Knocks: Training Camp w/ the Detroit Lions. Sure, it's classifiable as Reality TV, but when it comes to getting an in-depth, behind-the-scenes, all-access look at the ins and outs of running a professional football team, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more illuminating source than the first and longest-running sports documentary series in TV history. Produced by NFL Films and narrated by Liev Schreiber (a tidbit neither of us were privy to during the recording and were both undeniably shocked to learn), the flashy series feels shackled by some of its dated/vestigial stylistic traditions. The narration, aping David Attenborough's Nat-Geo style of zoological/anthropological objectivism and wonder, feels oddly at ends with the subject matter - somewhat dehumanizing the players and team. Fortunately, the voice-over framing device is seldom applied, and outside of its gaucheness, the show shines. Detroit & its eternally underperforming, down-and-out Lions offer a riveting subject matter. The team/season is helmed by the imposing yet affable presence of Dan Campbell, and led by spirited personalities, including Jamaal Williams, who's passionate post-practice speech about the previous year's abysmal record went viral for good reason. Another standout is Aidan Hutchinson, the darling 1st round draft pick who knocks it out of the park with another viral bit: a spunky, training camp performance of MJ's "Billie Jean." What makes this season particularly riveting is the focus is largely on players on the cutting block still trying to make a name and earn legit, 6 or 7-figure paycheck. Instead of spending time with Swift and Goff, this pre-season look at the Lions details the ups and downs of those seeking the last spot on the depth chart - Craig Reynolds (the RB3, maybe RB4 with an older brother in jail), Obinna Eze (the Nigerian), Malcolm Rodriquez ("Rodrigo"), David Blough (the 3rd string QB), and Kalil Pimpleton (the juggling, super speedy, but butterfinger-hands slot receiver). Witnessing these players practice, prepare, and put it all on the line during pre-season matches elevates the otherwise meaningless games. For an outsider, preseason football is but a glorified practice - a chance for football teams to workout the kinks. But for players on the cutting line, each snap is a tryout - a matter of keeping their job or getting sent packing home or to another team's practice squad. For sports fans who care more about the existential dynamics of the humans behind the pads, this element couldn't be more riveting. It made the season more profound and pathos-filled than any in-season glimpse at x's and o's could ever hope to be.

Ne deriva che il monaco, il quale non solo non avverta il disagio, ma anzi si compiaccia di discorsi vani, e ne lasci invadere la sua solitudine, è un controsenso, in quanto vive in opposizione abituale proprio con quelle tendenze profonde che dovrebbero averlo determinato all'elezione della vita monastica.NON AMARE DI PARLAR MOLTOPuò darsi il caso che le circostanze impongano la necessità di dover parlare, e anche molto parlare, ma l'anima, in situazioni del genere, dovrebbe sperimentare un penoso senso di costrizione, dal quale sente il bisogno di evadere, non appena si allenti la stretta del dovere.San Benedetto, con profonda sapienza, non ha detto: "Non parlar molto", ma: "non amare di parlar molto" (RB4,52). La cosa è ben diversa.Del resto, in qualunque condizione di vita, perché la voce di Dio raggiunga l'anima, e l'anima stessa possa percepirla con chiarezza, ordinariamente è necessaria questa atmosfera di silenzio, poiché Egli non si comunica con strepito di parole, ma in modo misterioso, quasi inafferrabile...Il silenzio è lo scrigno che custodisce le nostre ricchezze più intime e le sottrae a ogni sguardo profano, dandoci coscienza delle risorse di forza, di sopportazione, di carità, che la grazia ha deposto in noi: non si esaurisce in un atto, o in una successione di atti, ma è un abito interiore che S.
