Nour speaks on a wealth of topics, including: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnPNUHI-hPs (Curve Benders:) The intersection of the Future of Work, Strategic Relationships, and Non-Linear Growth. How will the way that we work change in the next 20 years? For most people and businesses, growth is linear, but some relationships can dramatically change our direction and ultimate destination in a non-linear manner; these relationships are our Curve Benders. How do we find them? How do we become one? Where do we have to be in our lives, and how do we open ourselves up to this? In his latest book, Nour shares the research and findings of how to build relationships with Curve Benders, and how to become a Curve Bender in the lives of others. Relationship Economics: how to build more intentional, strategic, and quantifiable business relationships and transform everyday relationships into business relationships. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkR2z4_cnYo&feature=youtu.be (CO-CREATE:) Your success won't be created by you alone, it needs to be correlated with others that demonstrate vested interest in success. Learning to co-create well fosters innovation while the economy is strong, so that when the next down-cycle occurs, you're able to recession-proof your business. Why Change, Creativity, and Collaboration will continue to be drivers of problem-solving and of changing technology. How to foster creativity in your business thinking. How to create and sustain a culture of innovation. How to make lasting change in your organization beyond charismatic work.
Today on the podcast, we have David Nour, a trusted adviser to global clients, corporate leaders, and rising entrepreneurs and the author of the recent book, Curve Benders. David is an expert in Relationship Economics: how to build enduring relationships that last a lifetime. Inside this episode, David shares how deepening relationships is the way to succeed in today's distributed workplace. David proposes three relationship-centered goals for leadership development in a hybrid work environment that allow leaders to both deepen their relationships and stretch the true potential of their teams no matter where they are. Relationships: Your Company's Biggest Undervalued AssetCompanies rarely tap into their biggest undervalued asset: relationships. Strategic relationship planning is the most important part of a business strategy, yet is often overlooked. The question for leaders today is, how do you build that relationship-centric team, especially now where many teams are not getting together physically? Goal #1 Relationships Before BusinessEarly in David's career, he thought about how he could combine the art and science of relationships to teach people how to identify, build, nurture, and sustain valued relationships beyond the inauthentic “networking” lessons. David wants to teach the following practices. Unlike typical - and often ineffective networking approaches--David talks about the value of relationship deposits, where you cannot ask for a favor until you've earned the right to do so.With his experience living in several cultures, David was able to see the vastly different ideologies within relationship economics in different countries compared to America. In other countries like Iran, Asia, and Latin America, relationships are built first before two people conduct business. Unfortunately, we as Americans are so focused on the business first, that we typically don't focus on relationships until after there is a good business fit. Once the business part works, we then begin forming relationships. But when it comes to having a successful business, leaders must remember that people will prioritize who they will invest in based on their relationship with you. Their relationship with you is based on four considerations: know, like, trust and respect. Relationships must be first, you must get other people to know, like, trust and respect you before you engage in business. Trying to bypass these four factors rarely works. To be an effective leader for your hybrid teams and for your customer, it is so important to build relationships first before doing business.Goal #2 Build Relationship Centric TeamsRelationship centric teams have three characteristics:1. A defined set of personal characteristicsRelationship-centric teams need a clearly defined set of characteristics that they know are required for that team to succeed. The team then needs to be clear on further developing these characteristics. Many teams look for characteristics such as grit, personal accountability, responsibility, and proactiveness. 2. Trust. Trust is easy to talk about, but incredibly difficult to build, nurture, and sustain. Trust takes years to develop, and an instant to destroy it. When it is destroyed, it's often because one is Pennywise and pound foolish. Relationship-centric teams are skilled in developing trust and having conversations around when trust is broken.Click here for the entire summary

In the post-pandemic world, you'll need to think about your business relationships differently. Those you new pre-pandemic, mostly through your in-person interactions, you've been forced to engaged only online for the past 13 months! Conversely, there are others you've only met/connected with online whom you'll need to prioritize and engage in person. Welcome to the world of Hybrid Relationships. I believe we're thinking about coming back to work all wrong. Beyond the tactical 'how many days in the office,' we need to rethink and reimagine our work. A strong enabler of that journey will be the relationships you choose to invest in. In this episode, I review some of my seminal work from Relationship Economics, such as the Relationship Currency Roadmap, your most neglected relationships, the need to recalibrate your Relationship Value Pyramid, ABCs of your relationship investments, and the 10 Relationship Impact Moments. I then link those ideas to ten (10) Digital Relationship Best Practices in the post-pandemic, hybrid relationship world. I hope you find these ideas of interest and value. Come join us in the Nour Forum to continue the discussions. Best, Nour --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/david-nour/message
A business that succeeds is a business that continues to learn. This is one of the many reasons why talent development is important—it helps people within a business to develop their skills and competencies. However, the current COVID-19 pandemic has undeniably forced many of us to rethink, reimagine, and, if not, reinvent talent development, especially with how executives can keep up with learning about the business. He then shares his expertise in this area to us by speaking about what he calls https://www.amazon.com/Relationship-Economics-Transform-Valuable-Professional/dp/1118057120 (Relationship Economics®), explaining why we need to be strategic about the relationships we choose to invest in.

Episode Summary The unprecedented speed of this global pandemic is creating organizational shock and uncertainty. Your corporate strategy became obsolete when the global economy shut down in March. There is no playbook for our current market dynamics and the CO19 is an impetus to reimagine, reinvent, and reinvigorate a portfolio approach to business model innovation. Remote team leaders need mission-critical strategy alignment with the ability to turn daily huddles of their top priorities into visual strategies, so they can: • Stabilize current and generate new revenues, • Keep and maximize their talent capabilities, • Collaborate with their teams digitally to co-create, and • Enhance their brand value while they mitigate risk amid the CO19 storm. Join us and senior leadership/board advisor and best-selling author of Relationship Economics, Co-Create, and the forthcoming Curve Benders, David Nour, as he shares insights from global executive conversations in the past six weeks, his research into Crisis Resilience, and innovation opportunities from Co-Creation. His new book, Curve Benders, talks about how people are affected by external and internal forces of business transformation. Want to learn how to think about the people side of rapidly accelerating, technology-driven business transformation? Tune in!
Most professionals would say their business depends upon relationships, yet few take a strategic and economically based approach. David Nour, the author of Relationship Economics and Co-Create, joins Jim to help you bridge the gaps.
What if your customers had a vested interest in guiding your company toward greater success? What if your employees had a personal as well as professional commitment to elevating your organization? Imagine how different your results would be if investors, vendors, and even analysts treasured the relationship they have built with you? Most important . . . is your company capable of setting aside a bit of its own self-interest to become part of dramatically more rewarding collaborative effort? That's the provocative and ultimately earthshaking question David Nour poses. He argues that co-creation is a transformational journey that naturally leads to growth and evolution . . . because it gives birth to shared interests that dwarf anything that existed previously. David Nour is a growth strategist and the thought leader on Relationship Economics® – the quantifiable value of business relationships. In a global economy that is becoming increasingly disconnected, The Nour Group, Inc. has attracted consulting engagements from over 100 marquee organizations in driving unprecedented growth through unique return on their strategic relationships.
