In the 2nd episode of today Craig was joined by 3x PGA Tour title winner & 1x Korn Ferry Tour winner & long time PGA Tour pro Jim Herman who gives in his own words a brilliant analogy of his long 23 year pro career from the highs and the lows of a PGA Tour professional.    Born in Cincinnati, Ohio Jim turned pro in 2000 is the winner of 2010 Moonah  Classic on the Nationwide Tour (KFT) in Australia beating Chris Kirk in a playoff, the winner of 2016 Shell Houston Open defeating 2016 Open Champion Henrik Stenson by 1 shot his 1st win as a PGA Tour player, he then followed that up with 2 more PGA Tour wins at 2019 Barbasol Championship in Kentucky at -26 & 2020 Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield CC in North Carolina.    Jim worked as a Assistant Club Pro at Trump National Bedminster and is friends with Donald Trump himself having played plenty of rounds with the former US President in the past. Jim is a loving family man and now resides in Pennsylvania after moving last year from Palm Beach, Florida.   This was a great interview with a 3x PGA Tour winner. I hope you all enjoy, subscribe and listen in. Thanks Jim   This show is brought to you in association with Golf Tips Checker.

Today on to the Brain Booster we welcome an extra special guest from the US in Phil Blackmar. Phil had a successful career on the PGA Tour including three tournament victories. The Greater Hartford Open, The Provident Classic and the Shell Houston Open were all victories achieved by winning a play off. The Provident Classic play off was against one of the game's true legends and tragic losses Payne Stewart. In the show Phil describes the intriguing mental game tool he used the week of his victory to turn his game around. He then went on to play on the Champions Tour winning his first event the AT&T Championship in 2009. At the weekend he went 36 holes without making a bogey to secure victory. Standing at 6ft 7in Phil is one of the tallest players to have played the PGA Tour After his playing career he went on to be a very popular analyst and on course presenter for the GOLF Channel During our time together Phil gave some wonderful insights to his development as a player. How he fell into the trap of being overly concerned with swing mechanics and the mental trap of perfectionism. The importance of the shot creating the swing in the moment How to be able to MANAGE and ADAPT in the moment with what you have today We also discussed ‘feeling good' to ‘play good' as opposed to waiting for the golf ball to make you feel a certain way. The relationship to the game and what Phil would have done differently How for a period of time his enjoyment of the game was taken away In his time Phil played with some of the greats of the game such as Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino but he makes a special mention around the legend that was Arnold Palmer and the incredible aura he had. The great Jack Nicklaus take on ADAPTABILITY and being able to adjust in the moment The development of Tiger Woods. How he trained to develop his mind with Dr Jay Brunza with what is known as ‘situational training' The use of hypnosis and meditation The blending of both ART and SCIENCE to maximise your game To conclude Phil makes THREE wonderful suggestions that you MUST hear To book your Mind Factor workshop go to https://themindfactor.net/workshops/breakthrough

Such as: Newcomer Kevin Kisner, Jordan Spieth going for back-to-back Masters titles, Rory McIlroy trying to complete the major grand slam, Jason Day going for back to back majors or three consecutive PGA Tour wins. Then their is fan favorite Phil Mickelson's continued quest to get the green jacket once again. Dr. Bob explains that players are fighting not only the battle in their own mind, but they and others expectations. The mental and emotional jousting along with a lot of great golf. The duo talk about the Masters' Par 3 contest had 9 hole-in-ones including back-to-back aces on the same hole by Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler. Gary Player had an ace on the first hole at 80-years-young.  Garry Smits, Florida Times Union in Jacksonville, calls in from the press room at Augusta National. Garry said that there has been a lot of discussion about whether some of the players have over prepared or under prepared. The Masters has the best practice area in the world. Jason Day had mentioned that you can be out there all day and leave your game on the range. Dr Bob asks Garry about that premise. Garry feels that the way that you beat this course is to play it over and over, instead of spending hours on the practice greens and driving ranges. Holly talks to Garry about the weather at Augusta for the week of the Masters.  Smits mentions that the greens are firm and fast. He thinks the wind might be the issue more than the rain. The wind players and the Europeans and someone like Rickie Fowler have the advantage typically with these conditions. Holly asks about Jim Herman's win at the Shell Houston Open last week that earned him the final spot for this year's Masters tournament. There were some really good golfers in the field that Herman beat. Gary said that Herman has played a lot of golf and is 38 years old. Gary said that his pick is Bubba Watson to win his third Green Jacket this week. SwingClick PLUS, one of the #1 training devices on Amazon.com. Master your timing, temp and rhythm with SwingClick. Mike Weir, Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson are three left handed golfers who have won The Masters.  Holly asks Kevin Sternett, who has been to Augusta six times, about his experience at Augusta many years ago. Dr Bob talks about the undulations and the slope of the greens at Augusta and how they are different than other courses. Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, calls in from Augusta after spending time at the ANA Inspiration the week before won by Lydia Ko. Her second major championship at the age of 18. Steve talks about that Ko isn't the most powerful golfer on the LPGA, but she is one of the most consistent players on the tour. Dr Bob talks to Steve about the demeanor of Lydia and that is what separates her from the field. Steve said that he feels that Jason Day or Bubba Watson to win the Masters this week. Kip Ingle calls in from The Golf Auction to wrap up the show and talks about some vintage golf collectibles and memorabilia. The actual ball that Cary Middlecoff used to win the 1955 Masters. Arnold Palmer's 1958 ball he used to win the Masters. A first edition of Down The Fairway that is autographed are just some of the items you can bid on. After a few months hibernation, The Golf Insiders is back kicking off Season 8 with show host Holly "G" Geoghegan and special guest Jay Golden, Winter Pines Golf Course in Winter Park, Fla., and PGA Instructor.  Holly and Jay recap the week in golf that saw Jason Day win the WGC-Dell Match Play Championship and Tony Finau capture the Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach. This week is the Shell Houston Open followed by the season's first major championship, The Masters. This week is the first of 5 majors on the LPGA, it's the ANA Inspiration.  Will Perry, Founder and Creative Director of EVVUS is also in the studio this week. Will is going to be "ramping" up the social media platforms at The Golf Insiders. Bob Harig, ESPN.com, is the season's first guest. Holly asks Bob about Jason Day's back-to-back wins on the PGA Tour. Bob said it was a little strange that a couple weeks ago Day was asked about his slow start on the Tour this season. Next thing you know, he wins back to back events and everything is changed. Now it's six wins in his last 13 starts. Even though he almost withdrew from the WGC due to back issues, he gutted it out and won.  Bob said that it sets up for a great Masters next week. Holly talked about Jordan Spieth and the naysayers comparing this year to last year and Jordan's response was that I already won this season and didn't last year. Last season Spieth lost in a playoff the week before the Masters and he went on to win it.  Jay asks Bob about Spieth's putting this year so far as compared to last year, especially from 20-30 feet. Strokes gained tee to green last year was near or in the top 5 on the PGA Tour, so putting wasn't the only key last year. Bob feels that Jordan isn't striking the ball as well so far this year consistently as he did last year. Holly asks Bob about this format at the WGC compared to last year. Bob doesn't like the fact there are so many matches on Friday that really didn't matter. He thinks it might be better if there were more double elimination matches in the first couple of days. Once you get to Saturday, if good players have survived match play, then it's good TV. Holly asks Bob who he thinks really would benefit from going into the Masters and do well for the rest of the season.  Bob said Spieth, Phil Mickelson and Patrick Reed. But Bob feels the Rory McIlroy really needed to play this week to get in form for the first major. Jay asks Bob if there is any updates on Tiger Woods?  Bob said no and he doesn't realistically think Tiger will not play in the Masters this year even though he has not shut the door and said No, he won't play. Holly tells the listeners about The Golf Auction hosting its annual global online auction that runs through April 10, 2016. Numerous memorabilia and collectibles will be auctioned off during this 10-day auction. This year's online auction will feature a number of finds of great historical significance.  They include championship-used golf balls from Arnold Palmer's 1958 Masters win and Cary Middlecoff's 1955 Masters win, along with Ben Hogan's 1951 U.S. Open win and Ed Furgol's 1954 U.S. Open triumph.  In addition, the Middlecoff and Furgol balls are autographed, and Middlecoff's also bears an inscription to Ralph Hutchison, the legendary golf pro who from 1947-1971 was the 18th green announcer at Augusta.  Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, calls in from Rancho Mirage, California, the site of the ANA Inspiration, formerly the Dinah Shore. Holly and Steve talk about Lydia Ko and the success she's had so far this season. Steve said that Lydia said that she doesn't remember hitting the ball better than she is now. She used to "over cook" some of her drives and now she doesn't.  Holly said that there is only one American in the top 10 on the money list so far this season, Stacy Lewis. Holly G asks Steve about Lewis and how she seems now since she recently go engaged. Steve thinks that inside the ropes he thinks she will do fine this year.  Steve and Holly also talk about Michelle Wie who turned pro 10 years ago. Todd Lewis, The Golf Channel, calls in from the Shell Houston Open. Todd says that this is a big week for Jordan Spieth, who recently lost his #1 ranking to Jason Day. He says that Spieth has been playing well, but not great like he was before when he had his number one ranking.  Holly talks with Todd about who might win the Masters. Jason Day, Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth will be talked about a lot this week prior to the Masters and Todd thinks that is a good thing for McIlroy who needs the green jacket to complete his career grand slam. Todd also feels that Phil has a really good shot at winning the Masters this year.

JB Holmes beat Jordan Spieth and Johnson Wagner in a playoff at the Shell Houston Open.  Garry Smits, Florida Times-Union talks to Holly about Tiger being loose. Way more than ever at a major championship. Holly and Garry discuss the fact that other marquee players are benefiting from Tiger Woods playing in the Masters as the focus shifts more to Tiger allowing players like Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth to fly need the radar.   Tiger has been working his butt off but has not been ready prior to this time. Garry points out that in the past Tiger has always beenable to put himself against the world, or the course and build that up In his mind for motivation and take his game to a different level.  The trio talk about the fact that Tiger is now a father and Garry says that fatherhood helped Jack Nicklaus, so maybe there's a little bit of a higher calling now for Tiger ... being a father.  Tiger may be more relaxed now. Holly and Garry discuss Jordan Spieth. Garry states that Spieth's stats may not be earth shattering but he gets it in the hole. He is able to recover from errant shots and gives himself opportunities. He also putts well from 6-20 foot away and is able to save par.  Kip Ingle, The Golf Auction.com, calls in from Augusta to talk to Holly about the massive global online auction. There will be more than 900 items to bid on. One of the featured items for bid is Jack Fleck's 1955 Ben Hogan 2-9 irons he used to upset Hogan. Fleck was the young professional who came from behind to beat Hogan in 1955. Considered one of the biggest upsets in golf, Fleck was a virtually unknown touring pro from Iowa. He prevented Hogan from winning a record 5th U.S. Open title forcing an 18-hole playoff at the 1955 Open, and did so using a custom made set of Ben Hogan irons. Hogan's company began making clubs in 1953. They were the only two in the field playing with Ben Hogan clubs. Ingle states that there will be a wide range of items including autographed golf balls, bags, flags, etc. Masters memorabilia. The Golf Auction sold one of the original 1934 Masters tickets for more than 30k.  The online auction runs through Sunday.   Todd Lewis,The Golf Channel, calls in from Augusta. Lewis reported that Kevin Streelman won the Par 3 contest. His caddie was a Make A Wish recipient with inoperable cancer. Holly asks Todd about Tiger. He says that this is definitely a different Tiger. Todd feels that Tiger is lowering the expectations of the fan. He is maturing and other reasons Tiger has changed. He points out that people want to see what's going on with Tiger's game both good and bad.  Todd told the story of how Ben Crenshaw pulled into the Champions parking lot and Tiger Woods was there. Tiger spoke with Ben and asked him who he was playing with in his final Masters practice round. Ben said Jordan Spieth, a fellow Texan. Tiger asked Ben if he could play the practice round with them and Mr Crenshaw said yes.  Todd's Masters picks: He likes JB Holmes and Keegan as sleepers. Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson Jimmy Walker are Todd's favorites to win Masters. Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, calls in and talks with Holly about ANA Inspiration ... The first major of season for LPGA won by Brittany Lincicome. Steve said that it was one of the best competitions this year. She beat Stacey Lewis after an eagle on the 18th to force a playoff. The playoff took 3 holes. Holly and Steve talk about the Masters, the expected weather and some of the players who Steve feels that will be in contention. He likes Jordan Spieth and Jimmy Walker.  Holly brings up Phil Mickelson. Steve says that Phil has a masterful command of the greens at Augusta. Rich B picked Henrik Stenson and Holly chose Matt Kuchar to win the Masters.

Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in to talk to the duo about Bay Hill, the tournament and the storm. Bob talks about having Tiger back in form makes golf that much better to watch and it is good for the game.  Not that he will always win, but he is putting well enough and playing well enough to win every time, according to Harig. Sean Foley really has Tiger dialed in. Bob talks about how great players fine tune their game as they get older to compensate for power lost. Team Albany wins on first hole of the playoff at Tavistock Cup after Ian Poulter sunk his putt. The Golf Insiders gave away a 10th Anniversary Collectors edition Tavistock Cup. Todd Lewis, The Golf Channel, calls in to discuss Bay Hill. Todd was actually back at the station just in case something happened with the weather. Todd also talks about Phil Mickelson missing the cut. Steve Eubanks is a bestselling author and award-winning writer whose work has appeared in Sports Illustrated, FoxSports.com, Yahoo!, Golf Digest,Golf World,Golf Magazine.. and the list goes on... A college golfer who was resoundingly thumped often enough to realize he could not play for a living, Steve became a club professional and general manager. He became a distressed golf property specialist who did work for CitiGroup, Prudential Securities, Bank of America, and the Royal Bank of Scotland. He and a group of partners built and owned golf properties in the Southeastern U.S. Then, in a radical career move, Steve became a writer. In addition to authoring the first unauthorized club history of Augusta National, Steve has authored novels, narrative non-fiction sports-history books, a golf memoir, and co-authored books with Arnold Palmer, Lou Holtz, Jeff Gordon, Tracy Austin, Mark H. McCormack, Butch Harmon and Ty Murray among others. Steve was also the publishing consultant for the Royal & Ancient Golf Club at St. Andrews. Steve is a frequent guest speaker. He taught seminars and business schools for the PGA of America, and was the keynote speaker at the 2007 Joint Forces Reserve Orientation Course, Command Second Fleet, Norfolk, Virginia. Steve lives in Peachtree City, Georgia with his wife and children. Founded in 1933, the Augusta National Golf Club is the perfect course. Co-designed by legends Bobby Jones and Alister MacKenzie, Augusta boasts gorgeous fairways and perfectly manicured greens, set against a breathtaking backdrop of azaleas and pines. Every April, the invitation-only Masters Tournament is watched by millions of avid viewers around the globe. But the exclusive club, with a membership comprising some of the world's most powerful and influential men, is also notorious for a legacy of secrets and controversy. Journalist and novelist Steve Eubanks used all of his investigative and storytelling talents to get to the heart of Augusta's turbulent history, including its 44-year rule under the iron fist of Cliff Roberts and his suicide on the club's grounds; the Masters' impetuous yet long-standing relationship with CBS; allegations of racism; and the club's countless, rigid rules (members can even be expelled for wearing their green Augusta blazers outside the club). With 45 inspiring photographs, Eubanks's balanced account also captures the historic moments that evoke deep affection for Augusta, from Dwight Eisenhower teeing off in the days before the Masters was televised to Jack Nicklaus's emotional victory at age 46, 23 years after he won his first green jacket. With a new chapter on Tiger Woods's 1997 triumph and published just in time for the 1998 Masters, Augusta is essential reading for anyone who wants the complete story of American golf's most hallowed groundVisit the Golf Talk Radio sponsors and tell them GTRadio sent you they help make the show possible! Slickstix.com, Avila Beach Golf Resort, Blacklake Golf Resort, Shore Cliff Lodge and Aramco Mortgage and Dr. Tullius.  Visit Golftalkradio.com for the latest show information, contests, videos iPhone and Android Apps and more!

Mark Long: PGA TOUR Caddie/SkyGolf Advisory Board MemberMark Long has been a PGA TOUR Caddie for more than 20 years, and currently carries the bag for PGA TOUR veteran and Champions Tour standout Fred Funk.Recognized as one of the most respected TOUR Caddies, Mark has been a staff advisor to SkyGolf since 2000, when the initial SkyCaddie model was in development. Mark has been instrumental in developing the SkyCaddie TOUR proven Mapping Methodology -- based on a TOUR Caddie’s perspective. TOUR Caddies walk every yard of the golf course to provide distances their pros can trust, as walking the course is the only way to truly understand the intricacies of a golf course, and SkyGolf is the only company that has adopted this methodology.Long is the author of several yardage books for TOUR players. In 1998, Mark started authoring yardage books for TOUR pros, by 2001 he perfected his technique, and today is one of the most sought after yardage book authors on TOUR. In fact, Mark authored the USGA yardage book for the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, and will author the USGA yardage book for the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black.Mark started his competitive golf career as a Terrapin for the University of Maryland under the leadership of Fred Funk. Mark has caddied in over 600 tournaments for Fred Funk and Nolan Henke, including 30 majors. He saw his first caddie win with Nolan Henke and, while with Fred, has seen three PGA TOUR and three Senior Champions Tour wins.TOUR Proven Mapping:Only SkyCaddie, after getting permission from each golf club, walks the course with skilled golfers – using sub-meter, survey grade equipment – to record and verify its course information, using the same method trusted by TOUR Caddies, for the game’s best players. Using unverified and possibly out-of-date satellite images is a cost-saving short cut that could produce unfavorable results for both the facility and golfer and could hurt the growth of this category, which is the only growing category in golf. In fact, satellite images are aerial views that are created by IT technicians who don’t necessarily have knowledge about the game of golf.SkyCaddie professional course mappers have literally walked 23,000 courses using state-of-the-art GPS survey grade equipment to capture distances from every angle on every course. These course mappers are skilled golfers and established caddies that understand what’s important for a golfer to score his or her best.Avila Beach Golf Resort - www.avilabeachresort.com Blacklake Golf Resort - www.blacklake.comInn at Avila Beach - www.avilabeachca.comAvila LaFonda Hotel - www.avilalafondahotel.comGolfland Warehouse - www.golflandwarehouse.comSlickstix - www.slickstix.comFor more information on Golf Talk Radio with Mike & Billy visit www.golftalkradio.com and visit www.centralcoasttoday.com for Golf Talk TV with Mike & Billy.
