I am a podcaster and an online educator that provides workshops to help people survive and thrive in business, I would like to share my journey with you.This all started about two years ago when I wanted to record a group of people, in a business networking event, so I could produce a podcast.I've always been a bit of a tech head, any software or hardware that is going to make me more productive and look more professional, I'm in. I'll go and purchase it on my credit card and worry about paying for it later.The problem with being able to record video, and broadcast, is there are so many options available and so many different variables, that you really have to find your own way to get it going correctly. So in saying that, my journey may not be your journey, but I am absolutely sure you will gain a lot of knowledge by reading or listening to this article.A good of friend of mine, Rob Woolley, is currently trying to set himself up as a YouTube educator. He has also been going through some of the trials and tribulations that I experienced at the start, all due respect to Rob, he likes doing things on a budget. He was having problems setting up his green screen and I received this message from him, “I've officially given up on getting green screen perfect, so I'm going to paint my wall as a backdrop I think”. I'll be honest, his message inspired me to write this blog.There is no right way and there's no wrong way of achieving your setup, just remember be good today, rather than perfect tomorrow, because tomorrow never comes.To make this a little bit more logical I think it would be best if I break this into different sections; sound recorder, microphones, green screens, lighting, camera equipment, editing and streaming. One thing I never do with my blogs is add images within the content, however I'm going to make an exception for this post.1) Sound RecorderSo as I said originally, I wanted to record 20 people in a room when I was running a think tank meeting for my business networking company. I did some searching and I read some good reviews about a recording device called a “ZOOM H6”. The reason I went with this, is that it would enable me to run four microphones simultaneously, as well as an additional two microphones that come with the unit. It can be powered with a USB charger, so it was an ideal unit, it was mobile and recorded brilliant sound. It has served me well. I used it for at least 12 months and I still have it, just in case I start doing more mobile interviews. It has a lovely compact carry case too.I started hanging out on a social audio app called Clubhouse. When talking to other podcasters, the industry standard and the unit that you want to get, is a RØDECaster Pro. Funnily enough, this would not be my recommendation if you want to be mobile. However, since I've had the RØDECaster Pro, I've never used my ZOOM H6 again. Recently I switched my recording hardware to the ZOOM PodTrak P8, as this is also a mobile unit and also a desktop sound recorder. I now get the best of both worlds and I love it. ¿Qué cámara Sony comprar en 2021? En este episodio del podcast nos toca hablar de las cámaras que recomendamos de Sony Full Frame y de Sony Aps-c. Y como Sony es la marca de cámaras más de moda hay que ser un poco sensatos/as y no caer en comprar cualquier Sony por el mero echo de que estén de moda. Veamos que Cámaras Sony comprar si quieres trabajar en tu pasión, la fotografía. Pero antes te recuerdo que tienes disponible más de 26 cursos de fotografía y marketing (y creciendo), pero si quieres aprender de manera personal también te ofrecemos consultorías de marketing para fotógrafos como de la parte técnica de la fotografía. Partiendo de la base que todas las marcas actuales de fotografía tienen modelos 100% válidos para trabajar con ellas en fotografía, voy a contarte los pros y contras que tiene Sony sobre el resto de marcas. El mejor enfoque del mercado (Tanto en Aps-c como en Full Frame). De lo mejorcito para grabar vídeo.Su respuesta a Isos altos y rango dinámico.Muchas ópticas donde elegir, tanto nativas como de 3º marcas. Su robustez no es la mejor.Menús farragosos y pantallas no abatibles (en algunos modelos van solucionándolo).Ópticas nativas caras.El color hay que trabajárselo más en postproducción. Sony tiene muchísimos modelos de cámara en el mercado. Han estado años sacando nuevos modelos y actualizaciones prácticamente anules, y aunque ya se han relajado... puedes encontrar muchísimos modelos diferentes. No los vamos a nombrar todo o sería larguísimo. Pero empezamos descartando modelos, toda la gama alpha 5000, las cámaras A7S, ya que están realmente orientadas al vídeo. Y también descartaría las Sony Alpha 9 y la reciente Sony A1 por ser cámaras de precios casi prohibitivos. Y como último descarte meteríamos a la Sony A7c, ya que basicamente es una a7III algo recortada en el cuerpo de una Sony A-psc. Por lo que la ergonomía de cámara muy pequeña con ópticas grandes de Full Frame es muy malo. Por lo que nos quedaríamos con las cámaras sony A7 y A7R para Full Frame y Sony A6000´s si prefieres el formato Apsc. Y entre estas gamas abajo te mostramos las 2 ganadoras en cada segmento según el tamaño de su sensor. ¿Estas son las únicas cámaras Sony recomendables? Por supuesto que no, pero estas son las que compraríamos nosotros. Pero si quieres más megapixeles y no te importa sacrificar un poco el ISO puedes comprar la Sony A7RIII, la A7RIV que salió al mercado hace poco no la recomendamos porque apenas hay cambios que merezca la pena pagar más. Y si te da igual sacrificar algunas especificaciones como el estabilizador, podrías comprar la Sony A6400 y ahorrarte un poco de dinero. Sea como sea atento a las ofertas puntuales que suelen verse en cámaras Sony, ya que suelen bajar mucho el precio.

I mostly shoot weddings and families with a Nikon D750 and have an X-T10 for fun. I want to switch completely to the Fuji X-T2. There are other mirrorless brands but they just don’t interest me and I don’t want full frame due to the size of the lens. The one thing that is holding me back is the time between shutter actuation on the X-T10. I know Marco uses the X-T2 and was curious if he has noticed it on that camera. This week I had the opportunity to test out the new real-time autofocus on the Sony a6400. The results are interesting. Gear used in this video Sony a6400 https://goo.gl/Ec1j6x Atomos Ninja V https://goo.gl/RvTZ7H The Sony a6400 is the first camera to use what Sony calls "Real Time Tracking Autofocus" which essentially adds pattern and color recognition to its AI autofocus system in addition to face detection and Eye AF. This allows for subjects that might turn or pass behind an object as the camera stays in focus on that subject. It works and its not bad - especially considering the price point. The one area that's problematic is in the graphic display that tells you what its focusing it on. This week Sony flew me to San Diego for the release of the Sony a6400 which is the new APS-C, entry level mirrorless camera in the Alpha lineup. Pre-order yours at B&H https://goo.gl/Ec1j6x The big new features on this camera are a 180 degree flip screen, unlimited recording in video mode, an HLG picture profile and object tracking/AI integrated autofocus. This is an interesting release from Sony as it seems they have upgraded the a6300 and a6500 cameras specifically targeted at vlogging, but the autofocus system additions push this camera over the top for me. While they're not nearly as fast as the Sony a9, they do offer a new range of flexibility if you wish to track your subject in real time. The artificial intelligence algorithms intelligently track subjects with the ability to recognize color patterns in addition to face detection and eye detection. This opens up a considerable amount of accuracy in tracking subjects for things like sports. Also interesting is the battery life is noticeably better on this camera compared to my experience with the Sony a6300 that I currently own.
