(Dn.7:2-14; Dn.3:59,75-81; Lk.21:29-33) "The beast was slain and its body thrown into the fire to be burnt up." Daniel prophesies the coming of pagan empires in his vision of the four beasts. The vision is, in short, an overview of the coming salvation. Notice that even as Daniel watches the beasts emerge with their horns and tusks and great iron teeth, even as he watches these terrible creatures devour and crush and trample in a kind of destructive euphoria… what does he see? "Thrones were set up and the Ancient One took His throne." The Lord God, the Eternal King, is there. (He is never far away.) And the arrogant horn is cast into eternal flame, and the other beasts lose their dominion, too, though they received "a prolongation of life for a time," indicating that a measure of the wickedness of such beastly empires – several of which we have seen very clearly in the last century – shall remain. But, nonetheless, there is "one like a son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven," and He indeed receives "everlasting dominion," a "kingship [that] shall not be destroyed." Like the Father in His eternal reign is the Son, who has come into our midst and even now winnows away the chaff of this world. That even as evil presumes to reign the Lord is at work, is assuming His eternal reign in the heavenly kingdom, is evident in Jesus' words to the disciples in our gospel. He has told them to watch for the terrible signs which will come upon the earth and bring its destruction, and equates the recognition of these signs and wonders of the end time with the budding of a fig tree signaling the coming summer. Jesus is the fig tree, the peace that is born even in the midst of war, the love that grows though surrounded by hatred – the light that overcomes all darkness. "The heavens and the earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." Though the mountains fall into the sea, the Lord's heavenly reign but comes to fulfillment. Then all creatures, all "beasts, wild and tame," "everything growing from the earth" and all "seas and rivers" will "praise and exalt Him" whose kingdom lasts forever. ******* O LORD, the myriads ministering to you overcome the power of all beasts, and by your only Son their fate is sealed and the kingdom comes forever. YHWH, your reign is near, always at hand. Despite the beasts which remain for a time, your Son has come and conquered all darkness. There is no death or sin in Him, no power that evil has before Him, and so those who find their life in Him shall indeed endure forever. Heaven and earth are passing away but His dominion is everlasting. Thank you for sending your Son to us, dear God, to cast all evil to the dust, to teach of the kingdom to come. In Him indeed summer is near, a time of great fruitfulness – the time when we shall share with Him in the eternal fruits of Heaven. Peace is upon us, though the destruction of war be all around. And so, what can we do but praise you, LORD of Heaven and earth? All your creatures can but sing of your glory and bless your holy NAME. This day let your fire burn all our sins away. Alleluia.

This is a deep dive into the problems of 1814 (being terror and bitterness) and the solution: Legitimacy,Huge, vast problems gripped Europe in 1814.  Usurpations all over Italy, chaos and foreign occupation in Germany, Thrones without occupants, deserters roaming France.   Solutions are needed, but can a continent dominated by fear find workable solutions.  The history of the last 22 years was not encouraging.  But someone was thinking through the problem.  So let us step into the mind of Talleyrand.We look at Legitimacy as it is commonly used in history today, how most used it in 1814 and how Talleyrand used it specifically to chivvy history along a few steps, until it stood safely away from the sheer.Roberto Calasso and Guglielmo Ferrero provide most of the thinking for this episode.

NerdDaily did an interview with Rick and Mark for The Court of the Dead. They describe writing the book as “improvisational jazz” and we really love that. They have no plans for the future, but that doesn't mean there might not be any…in the future. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Create Your Fate: A Coloring Book hits store shelves on November 11. The Sea of Monsters graphic novel (with a new cover) and the Disney+ tie-in edition also come out on the same day. The Red Pyramid discussion (00:31:38) This is it! We're here to talk about the final chapter of The Red Pyramid and then make our predictions for what may come next. A lot happened in the last two chapters, so we do a mini recap. Carter gets the last POV chapter! The kids (and Amos) return to Brooklyn and are greeted by an enthusiastic Khufu. Muffin is safe and comfortable, and everyone gets a spot to sleep amongst the rubble. How thoughtful. It takes a while to rebuild the mansion, and each sibling has their own strength. Amos is still struggling with what happened to him, and we totally understand why–it was such a violation. Who is the real Amos and will we get to see him in Book 2? The amulets are safe, and we wonder what it'll be like when the kids are actually ready to host the gods again. Why can Carter see Anubis in his human form now? It must be so weird to see their old home in L.A. We were right about Julius, Osiris, and the Underworld throne! The banter between Anubis and Sadie is what romance books are made of! The situation with Julius is complicated to say the least, though we understand why he did what he did. Ruby shows up and we learn that she was kind of there with Isis when Sadie was hosting the goddess. Horus takes the throne of the gods and no one challenges him. Then all the gods bow to the Kanes. ZEUS WOULD NEVER. The gods restored the mansion, which is super nice, but we all know what we were really hoping for. Amos is leaving to go back to the House of Life and leaving the kids on their own. Except Bast is totally back! Carter thinks Sadie will want to go back to her grandparents, but she's totally going to stay with him in Brooklyn. We really loved the end of this book and how it hints to more coming soon. What were our favorite lines and favorite moments? What can we expect in Book 2? We can't wait to see the new recruits! Carter is totally going to track down the real Zia. The holy Scriptures, from beginning to end, are filled with mentions and descriptions of the Heavenly Host: not to believe in angels is not to believe in the Bible. In the heavens they behold the face of God, eternally hymning His glory. They are intimately involved with mankind as well: an angel is appointed guardian over every nation, and over every individual Christian. The Archangels Michael and Gabriel, whom we especially commemorate today along with all the other bodiless powers, have served as messengers to man. "Michael" means "Who is like God?";"Gabriel" means "God is mighty." Gabriel especially was appointed to announce the coming of Christ in the flesh.   There is no reckoning the number of the Heavenly Host, though we know that they are a great multitude. They are ranked in nine orders, called Thrones, Cherubim, Seraphim, Dominions, Powers, Authorities, Principalities, Archangels and Angels. "Angel" means "herald" or "messenger" and is properly applied only to those who serve as messengers from God to man; but the name is often applied to the entire host of bodiless powers.   Though bodiless, the angels are finite in knowledge, extension and power. The angel Lucifer, once the highest of them all, desired to be like God Himself, and was cast forever from the presence of God, along with countless others who followed him. These we now know as Satan and the demons. (Needless to say, they are not commemorated today).

X2M.232 — Katakrateō (The Grip Phase / Dominion Seized) CR17 Runtime • Teva Kernel Edition • Compiled October 2025 (ET) Katakrateō marks the moment the verdict of heaven grips history.¹ The Starchild enthroned at 227Σ (Yāshab ⊗ Skēnoō) set a decree that no counterfeit throne could evade; 228 through 231 exposed, dissolved, and routed the dominions of darkness.² Now the hand closes on the crown—katakrateō, from κρατέω, “to seize or to prevail,” signals not conflict but consolidation.³ In October 2025 the world hails a global peace accord, but prophecy reads another signal.⁴ While nations toast a New World Order, the heavens thunder with Revelation 12—the casting down of the Dragon by Michael.⁵ Lucifer falls as the earth applauds false peace. Gabriel (Strength of God) announced to Zachariah the forthcoming birth of John the Baptist, and to Mary, the birth of Jesus. His greeting to the Virgin, "Hail, full of grace," is one of the most frequent prayers. Raphael (Medicine of God) is the archangel who took care of Tobias on his journey.The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us that the existence of spiritual, non-corporeal angels is a truth of faith. The name angel means servant or messenger of God.In the liturgy, the Church joins with the angels to adore the Trinitarian God, invoking their assistance,Angels are pure, celestial, or heavenly spirits created on a higher order than human beings. They have intellect and will, and are immortal.They are a vast multitude, but each is an individual person. Archangels are one of the nine choirs of angels listed in the Bible. Read Online“Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” John 1:51In Heaven, we will see all things as God sees them. That full perspective will be beyond glorious. And among the many things that will amaze us from the perspective of Heaven is the incredibly powerful ways that the celestial beings participate in the bringing forth of the Kingdom of God. The Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archangels and Guardian Angels all cooperate with God's grace in ways similar to how every member of an orchestra works together to produce a single piece of beautiful music. God is the conductor, but these celestial beings participate in the grand fulfillment of the will of God, acting as living instruments of His divine grace.Today's feast honors three of the great archangels mentioned in Scripture: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. The Archangel Michael is described as a protector in the Old Testament Book of Daniel and as one who does battle with satan in the Books of Revelation and Jude. In Revelation, Michael casts satan out of Heaven along with the other fallen angels. The Archangel Gabriel is spoken of also in the Book of Daniel as one who interprets Daniel's vision. In the New Testament, he is identified as the one who appears to the high priest Zechariah while Zechariah is offering sacrifice in the temple. In that appearance, Gabriel revealed to Zechariah that his wife would have a child, even though she was advanced in years. Gabriel is perhaps best known as the one sent to the Blessed Virgin Mary to reveal to her that she will become the mother of the Savior of the World. Lastly, the Archangel Raphael is referred to in the Old Testament Book of Tobit and is said to have been sent to bring healing to Tobit's eyes.As we honor these three archangels, we can be certain that they are three of a countless number of other angelic beings who cooperate with God, bringing forth His grace and His will into our world. Try to imagine that profound truth. Some angelic beings build up the Kingdom of God by devoting their existence to the perpetual worship of God before His throne. The highest of these are the Seraphim. Other angelic beings build up the Kingdom by bringing forth God's grace and truth to us, intervening in our lives in accord with God's will. These are especially the guardian angels. The archangels, three of whom we honor today, especially have the task of communicating to us the most important messages and graces from God. Reflect, today, upon the glorious reality of the whole host of the celestial beings. Specifically call upon the mediation of these three celestial beings whose names we know, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, as well as upon the mediation of our guardian angels and all others celestial beings. By doing this, we not only entrust ourselves to their loving care, but we also make an act of faith in God by expressing our belief that God has chosen to use these celestial beings to bring forth His Kingdom. By themselves, angels are powerless to act. But since they act only in unison with the will of God, their mediation is as powerful as the grace of God, since it is God Who works through them.
