Longtime NHL Head Coach Bruce Broudreau stopped by to talk to Cam and Strick. Right off the bat you can hear his personality and his willingness to have fun with the boys. Boudreau has had an interesting life in the game, this guy put up unreal numbers as a player, primarily in the minors, where he ranks among the highest scoring AHL players in their history. He also spent some time with both Toronto and Chicago in the NHL. Why didn't he have a longer NHL career? He tries his best to provide an answer. Boudreau touches on a number of topics including how he would handle the Tukka Rask situation, what about Allan Walsh's tweet, or the negativity surrounding Head Coaching tactics thanks to Bill, Peters, Marc Crawford, and Mike Babcock among others. How badly does Boudreau want to get back behind an NHL bench and where is his favorite place he's coached in the NHL? How hard is it to hear the criticism he's endured for not having playoff success? Who's the most impressive head coach in the game today? These questions and many more are discussed in this edition of the Cam and Strick Podcast.
Steve Carney is calling it. The best possible match up in the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Tampa Bay Lightning..... is the Boston Bruins. On this week's Block Party Seth Kushner talked to Lightning Founder Phil Esposito about what he ate during the 5 overtime game, who the most important player for the Bolts is outside of Andrei Vasilevskiy, who gets to use his putting green at his house, Tukka Rask leaving the Bruins during the playoffs, the fact that the Lightning gave up too much at the trade deadline and he compares Seth to a celebrity.

So far, so good, right? The bubble appears to be holding, but but that doesn’t mean it’s all champagne and roses, especially if you’re a Bruins fan. Deb and Erika talk about today’s biggest story (Tukka Rask), last week’s biggest story (that 6+ hour game), and the final slotting of the draft lottery. (Remember that?) We also touch on the sassiness of the Jumbotron operators; the heroes and villains of the playoffs; and, of course, The Refs (See also: heroes and villains). In this episode’s “What the Puck” we are all about the checks: body, hip and cross as well as a few that were new to us. And, finally, Erika has been sprinkling the internet with her hockey tidbits over at @HollyGoGarkly on Twitter. New to Hockey? We are here for you. Drop us a tweet or email us at beginnerspuck@gmail.com and we’ll help you navigate this wild, fantastic landscape!

Paying tribute to our new Stanley Cup champions the St. Louis Blues and Tukka Rask.
TSN’s Craig Button says when Tukka Rask is on his game, his feet are quiet, he is settled in his stances, moves with an economy of effort and that is how he has played in the Stanley Cup Finals. Craig also believes the Blues are fully capable of winning Game 7 in Boston.
Welcome to the June 5th episode of the Bench Boyz podcast. On this episode, Jared and Tyler discuss game 3 and 4 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals and some of the other news and trade rumours around the league. Saturday night was anything but a pleasure for St. Louis as they got pumped 7-2 by the Bruins. Binnington was not his usual self and let in some fairly bad goals that really hurt the Blues. One in particular was really bad, a soft shot from just inside the blue line that lead to a failed offside challenge and another goal against, basically sealing it for Boston. Game 4 was a much different story for both teams. A great back and forth game with lots of chances and some great goal tending by Tukka Rask saw the game come down to the final minutes just like in game 2. St. Louis ended up tying the series at two games a peice but the big story is Zdeno Chara’s potential broken jaw. Also this week the NHL ruled in favor of Evgeny Kuznetsov and his excuse for being photographed in the same picture as some “white powder” while in Vegas over the summer. The Erik Karlsson rumours are starting on where he could possibly be signing on July 1st and Sean Avery stirred up the hockey world when he went on Instagram and claimed he knew of a trade involving “Nazeem” Kadri and Jacob “Troubda” Thanks for tuning in, we hope you enjoy.

The Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast is pleased to announce that it's officially draft szn, everybody! And that means it's time for Elan and Brian to comb through the entire Yahoo! default draft rankings-- from #1 Connor McDavid to #1009 Kalle Kossila-- and then ruthlessly attack them for the most egregious examples of over- and under-rated players found within. Follow along as we name more players in an episode than we're likely to on any regular season episode.(In an episode where we ranked hockey names, by the way, Kalle Kossila could easily crack the top 100.)(In an episode where we possessed Grays Sports Almanac, by the way, we'd use our knowledge only for good.)Players discussed on this episode include Ben Bishop, Thomas Chabot, Cale Makar, Tukka Rask, Devan Dubnyk, Alex Ovechkin, Johnny Gaudreau, Jack Eichel, Patrik Laine, Max Pacioretty, Jamie Benn, Dylan Larkin, Tyson Barrie, Jacob Trouba, Jonathan Toews, Vincent Trocheck, Oscar Klefbom, Roope Hintz, Anthony Mantha, Shayne Gostisbehere, Alex Edler, Quinn Hughes, Erik Karlsson, Brent Burns, Tuukka Rask, P.K. Don't make that add, drop, or trade just yet -- on this episode, Elan and Brian take a look at why some guys are way up, why others are way down, and why you shouldn't get caught with your head spinning all around. This week's edition of Keeping Karlsson kicks off with a prescription for deep breaths, especially regarding two goalies who have been particularly testing their owners after slow starts. In the headlines, we also cover injuries to a couple key contributors, the Leafs' blueline situation, and a new face in the Avalanche net.We then take a look at some underlying numbers that are just a little bit wackier than they should be at this point of the year, naming early candidates for you to consider selling high or buying low. Elan and Brian also share their views on how patient you need to be with the team you picked on draft day.The show closes with the return of the Lightning Round™, where the guys give the lowdown on the names that appeared the most in our Twitter mentions this week.Players covered this week include Victor Hedman, Jason Garrison, Brock Nelson, Tukka Rask, Damon Severson, Troy Brouwer, Gabriel Landeskog, Rick Nash, Calvin Pickard, Patric Hornqvist, Tanner Pearson, and more.If you enjoy the show, you can support us by telling a friend, subscribing to and reviewing Keeping Karlsson on iTunes, and following us on Twitter (@keepingkarlsson). First things first: Elan and Brian have not traded Karlsson. They are still keeping Karlsson. This podcast remains Keeping Karlsson. Anyone who does that is smart. Anyone who doesn't, particularly in actual real life, and particularly without getting anything of remotely similar value in return, is not. So anyway, yeah, here's another episode of the Keeping Karlsson Hockey Podcast. It's a pretty good one. It was supposed to be all about Yahoo Average Draft Pick rankings, which we were going to comb through and then pick out some guys who we thought were being picked either too high or were bargains being picked as low as they were. But then this other thing came up. So instead, Brian rants for a bit at the start. Then Elan refocuses on the fantasy fallout of Karlsson to San Jose. Then Elan invokes a bit of a Smörgoåliesbord redux by wanting to tinker amongst tiers based on recent preseason news. Brian is chagrinned by this and wants to refocus on the trade. Then they look at the fallout of Karlsson gone from Ottawa (spoiler: it's not good). Afterwards, the guys do get around to combing Yahoo ADPs as originally planned, highlighting a handful of market inefficiences on both the high and low ends based on fantasy drafting trends to date. Also: the Keeping Karlsson NHL 2018-19 Audio Almanac is out now! Elan and Brian slaved over hot mics and keyboards for weeks to put together the world's first audio fantasy hockey guide. It all adds up to a comprehensive and exhaustive 32 chapters, 27+ hours of content, 285 player points projections, 65 goalies tiered, and too many arguments to count to help you win your fantasy pool and just know pretty much everything about every relevant player in the entire NHL. Head to keepingkarlsson.com/almanac to purchase, where you'll also find a link to download the first chapter for free. This is also a good place to mention that Keeping Karlsson patrons get 20% off their Almanac purchase! Players discussed on this episode include Erik Karlsson, Brent Burns, Evander Kane, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Tomas Hertl, Timo Meier, Martin Jones, Aaron Dell, Jonathan Quick, Devan Dubnyk, Tukka Rask, Pekka Rinne, Jake Allen, Ville Husso, Corey Crawford, Cam Ward, Cory Schneider, Carter Hutton, Brian Elliott, Carter Hart, Michal Neuvirth, Thomas Chabot, Matt Duchene, Mark Stone, Chris Tierney, Brady Tkachuk and more. * * * Like what you hear?
