First: A slew of new polls from three crucial swing states show a remarkably consistent reality. The country is divided and the presidential race is up for grabs. We break down the numbers and what it means for both candidates' path to 270. Plus: Team Harris is relying on Tim Walz to cut into a huge source of support for Donald Trump: men. The group White Dudes for Harris is also launching a $10 million digital ad buy. But will anything narrow the gaping gender gap? And: The Teamsters Union decides against endorsing either presidential candidate for the first time in nearly three decades. Donald Trump is calling it an honor. But is it? Nelson Walters joins us again, this time with Part 2 of his explanation why the Apostle John cried like a baby when it seemed like no one in heaven could open the 7-sealed scroll. (Did you miss Part 1? Listen to it here.) John's weeping shows that he understood what the scroll was and why it was important. And because he never identified it, it also shows that he assumed his readers would know what a 7-sealed scroll was as well. In this Part 2 episode, Nelson continues his identification of the scroll's purpose and links the passages in Revelation with their parallel passages in the Book of Daniel.

There's confusion and frustration surrounding the surgical centre sitting empty at Auckland's North Shore Hospital. It was originally set to open this month after several delays, but the date has been pushed back with no opening in sight. Health Minister Dr Shane Reti says the scope of the project has changed - and has only just passed council consenting. "We're hoping to open it in the next few months, but that's why we're still here with the building that can't quite be used." LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Both money and staffing issues appear to be behind a new surgical centre sitting empty at Auckland's North Shore Hospital. It was originally set to open this month but is now slated to begin a phased opening from mid-year. Health NZ says when it took over it was unclear if it'd be ready, so they opted to continuing delivering planned care elsewhere to ensure they meet targets. Nurses' Society National Director David Wills told Mike Hosking that the change in government hasn't helped in securing funding. He says you obviously have to have the money finalised in order to be able to then commission and recruit. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A brand new four storey building the size of a provincial hospital is sitting empty on the grounds of North Shore hospital, with its opening date delayed and no new one set. Construction of the 150-bed Tōtara Haumaru surgical facility is finished and the first stage was initially supposed to open last December, then this month. But Te Whatu Ora/Health NZ doesn't yet have enough staff for it, and doesn't know how much money it will have to run it. Health Correspondent Rowan Quinn reports.

Dr. Don and Professor Ben talk about the risks of consuming heavy cream from an unopened carton almost 3 weeks past it's expiration date. Dr. Don - not risky
In a tragic incident in Maple Grove, Minnesota, a daughter is accused of attacking her mother during a heated dispute over unpaid rent. According to the Maple Grove Police Department, Nicole Mari Wobbeking, 49, was arrested on July 29 for misdemeanor domestic assault in the fifth degree. However, the charges were later upgraded to assault in the third degree when investigators discovered that the victim, Sheila May Wobbeking, 78, had suffered a broken bone during the altercation. Initially released after the first arrest, Nicole has been in custody at Hennepin County Jail since the second arrest. Unfortunately, the elder Wobbeking, Sheila, passed away at her home in Plymouth on July 5. Law enforcement in Plymouth alerted authorities in Maple Grove, and detectives are now requesting homicide charges. The incident occurred on June 27 when Sheila went to her daughter's residence, which she owned and where Nicole was also a tenant, to address the issue of unpaid rent and complaints from nearby individuals. According to the criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime, Nicole became agitated, and a heated confrontation ensued. She allegedly slapped her mother and then violently pushed her down several stairs. To the horror of the investigators, it is reported that Nicole used a jar of unopened pasta sauce to inflict further harm on her mother's ribs and hips. Despite her injuries, Sheila managed to leave the house with her granddaughter and wait for the arrival of the police. She was taken to a hospital in Maple Grove, where it was discovered that she had suffered a broken ankle in the incident. Tragically, Sheila's condition deteriorated, and she passed away days later. In the aftermath, Nicole stated that her mother was her landlord and entered the residence without permission, admitting to pushing the stairs down. Now, homicide charges are being pursued. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office has determined that Sheila's death resulted from a pulmonary embolism triggered by the broken ankle sustained in the attack. As the investigation continues, Maple Grove Police Commander Jon Wetternach said that a decision on the homicide charge is currently pending. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Cathy Endebrock, Kerri Brinkoeter, and Marlene McMichael interview award-winning author and media commentator, Richard Battle, about his new book "The Unopened Present." The book delves into the 43 nuggets of practical, Biblical wisdom that Richard intially wrote in a letter to his infant son. Richard was 45 when his son was born and was concerned that he would not live long enough to teach his son these important Biblical principles, so he wrote them down in a letter and filed it away. Three months later, his son was gone. "The Unopened Present" revisists the wisdom Richard wanted to share with his son and serves as a practical guide for anyone who wants to live life well.

As Christmas is quickly approaching, the story of Jesus' birth is one we can reflect on. It is one of unexpected events that require faith and trust in the Lord. Discussing the birth of Christ, Pastor Jeremy shares how Joseph and Mary experienced the gift of the savior, which required great surrender to God's plan and sovereignty. Ever feel like the gifts of God are frightening before they are exciting? Or blessings come in unusual ways? When we look in the Bible, Mary was given the gift of birthing Christ. However, leading up to His birth, she was unsure how it would all play out. Similar to Mary's situation, often the greatest blessings scare us before they bless us. In these times, we must remember that God orchestrates things in our lives in ways that only He can get the credit as He moves miraculously. While we may feel hesitant to receive the gifts of God in their fullness when we don't understand, we can trust that He works everything out for the good. As we practice confiding in Him, we can remember that our responsibility is not controlling how things will unfold, but rather our response to His ability to work in our lives. Even when we may not see the blessing immediately, we can be sure that He turns things around to bless us. Rather than trusting our immediate emotions, we can rest knowing God's hand is always at work. In this, let us be encouraged that God is faithful to finish what He starts.

In 1970, a 21-year-old heir to a margarine fortune became a nationwide sensation when he vowed to give away his money to anyone who needed it. Michael Brody was deluged with thousands of letters, most of which sat unopened for decades, until documentarian Keith Maitland and his team decided to read them. “We started researching people, and we started tracking them down,” Maitland says. “And over and over, we kept discovering that almost nobody remembered having written these letters.” Director Keith Maitland and Executive Producer Ed Pressman talk about exploring a strange, poignant, and all but forgotten story with the film “Dear Mr. Brody.”
