In the desert kingdom of Abu Dhabi, the sun is about to set on a record-breaking Formula 1 season. After an intense battle across 23 races, just one will now decide which team will be crowned World Champions. Formula 1's oldest rivals, McLaren and Ferrari are, once again, pitted against one another in a title fight. The Scuderia have 31 titles and McLaren 20 – but only one of them will claim the Constructors' crown in Abu Dhabi to add to their tally. The pressure is on McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Norris, fresh from his fight with Max Verstappen, must now keep his Ferrari rivals, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, at bay. The British star will need all the help he can get from his teammate Oscar Piastri as both of them must work together to bring the Constructors' Championship back to McLaren for the first time since 1998. McLaren are protecting a 21-point lead at the top of the table – and to win they must outscore Ferrari by 15 points.

On the very first episode of his new show, The Team Principal Podcast, former Aston Martin and Alpine boss Otmar Szafnauer is joined by The Race's Ben Anderson to discuss how a team principal goes about integrating a new driver into a team. First, Otmar talks about Lewis Hamilton's switch from Mercedes to Ferrari and the role Scuderia boss Fred Vasseur will have played in helping the seven-time world champion settle over the winter. Otmar offers his thoughts on what he'd do if he was in Fred's shoes, and then contrasts that approach with the approach Mercedes boss Toto Wolff will have to adopt to help Hamilton's replacement - rookie Kimi Antonelli - settle into his new life as a full-time grand prix driver. Within the discussion, Otmar reveals the techniques and strategies he used in his own career, and explains why being able to adapt your approach to suit the unique personality of each driver is so important for a team principal. To round off the episode, Otmar casts an eye over 2025's driver pairings, giving his team principal's take on which of the duos will be the most harmonious, which he'd like to manage, and which he expects to provide fireworks...
It wasn't a classic by any means, but on his sixth attempt, Charles Leclerc was finally able to take a victory at home on the streets of Monaco. Leclerc was able to pull away in the late stages of the race from McLaren's Oscar Piastri, with Carlos Sainz's Ferrari in third to make a double podium for the Scuderia. Joining Bryn Lucas on the Autosport Podcast is Alex Kalinauckas and Jake Boxall-Legge and together they discuss Leclerc's excellent performance, and a chaotic opening lap that led to both Alpine's coming together before the tunnel, and Sergio Perez colliding with both drivers at Haas. Also, should Red Bull be concerned about what Max Verstappen called “a fundamental problem” with the car as he had to settle for sixth, Williams getting into the points for the first time this season via Alex Albon's ninth, and is Aston Martin going backwards after their latest upgrade package? On this episode of Nailing the Apex, Carlos Sainz will be back behind the wheel of the SF-24 for this weekend, how tough has his recovery from appendicitis been, and will he be fit enough to do a full Grand Prix distance on a street circuit (1:20). Red Bull will always be the favorite coming into every race this season, but Ferrari's SF-24 seems far more competitive than what it was in 2023, and there are some who believe that the Scuderia can catch RBR and put pressure on them later this season (9:03). It's a jam packed mid-field. RB is not as competitive as a lot of us thought they would be to start the season, why is that (15:55). On Wednesday Susie Wolff announced that she has taken legal action against the FIA following their conflict of interest inquiry into her back at the end of 2023 (19:28). Nico Hulkenberg has said that Ollie Bearman's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix F1 debut will be “forgotten” if he is not able to perform in F2. Is he right. There were unsportsmanlike accusations against Kevin Magnussen for what he did during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, was he playing tough defense to get his team the last point, or was he being unsportsmanlike. #484 Lewis, Ferrari, Porsche & Dacia. Zog & Gareth react to the news of Hamilton's shock move to the Scuderia. Alex Goy argues that a Dacia Duster is better than a Porsche 356/2-32. Plus what is the SF24's USP? And when is a Red Bull not a Red Bull?
Scott Mitchell-Malm and Ben Anderson join Edd Straw for a chat on all things Ferrari, after the Italian team opted for a low-key launch of its new car, the SF-24. They discuss how the Scuderia are shaping up for this season, the potentially worrying aspect of its new car that leaves Ferrari as a clear outlier compared to its main rivals, and how much the shadow of 2025 signing Lewis Hamilton hung over launch proceedings. We also hear from former F1 technical director Gary Anderson, who provides an assessment of all the major changes Ferrari have introduced to its machine this year, and how big an impact they're likely to have on bringing it closer to Red Bull in 2024. He talks about helping Renault teammate Fernando Alonso become a two-time World Champion with Renault, the ‘pressure and power' he felt as an Italian driving for Ferrari, whether his F1 journey would have continued had he not joined the Scuderia, and much more.
