    Mark Wilson is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Pre-Hospital Care Doctor. He is Professor of Brain Injury at Imperial College and the Gibson Chair of Pre-Hospital Care in the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. His area of interest is the hyper-acute management of brain injury and hypoxic brain injury. He has worked extensively overseas including with NASA (investigating intracranial pressure in Astronauts) and on many expeditions. He is co-founder and medical director of GoodSAM (www.goodsamapp.org) - a global platform that crowd sources trained responders in emergencies and enables urgent telemedical assessment of patients.

    Former Formula One racing driver and 2016 Formula One World Champion, Nico Rosberg is the son of Finnish 1982 world champion Keke Rosberg. He was born in Germany and has dual nationality and drove for Williams F1 and Mercedes AMG Petronas under the German flag. Rosberg is, to date, the only driver other than Hamilton and Vettel to have won the Formula 1 title in the 2010s. He is the second second-generation Formula 1 champion, after Damon Hill, and the first to have achieved this feat during his father’s lifetime. Additionally, Rosberg is the first driver representing Germany to have won the title for a German team using a German-manufactured engine. Rosberg won the International Racing Driver Award at the 2016 Autosport Awards. The award was first won by his father Keke in 1982. He announced his immediate retirement from Formula One on 2 December 2016 at the FIA Prize Giving Ceremony in Vienna, having reached the ‘pinnacle’ of his career.

    By age six, Millie Knight had lost 92% of her sight in both eyes and at the same age started skiing. Today, at just 19 years old, Millie is a double Winter Paralympian, three-time Paralympic medallist and current World Para Alpine Downhill Champion – titles she won competing with her sighted ski guide, Brett Wild. Last year Millie was shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and Sunday Times Young Sports Woman of the Year awards; and was also made an Honorary Doctor of the University of Kent for Commitment to Sport. In September this year, Millie will be going to University to study Psychology, before defending her downhill world title at the World Championship in Switzerland in March 2019.

    Norman Tebbit is a British politician and life peer. A member of the Conservative Party, he served in the Cabinet from 1981 to 1987 as Secretary of State for Employment (1981–83), Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1983–85), Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1985–87) and Chairman of the Conservative Party (1985–87). He was a member of parliament from 1970 to 1992, representing the constituencies of Epping (1970–74) and Chingford (1974–92). He retired from parliament for Chingford in 1992, and has since sat in the House of Lords as Baron Tebbit, of Chingford. In July 2013, Tebbit was one of the guests on an episode of Peter Hennessy’s BBC radio 4 programme Reflections in which he talked about his life and career. Earlier that year he paid tribute to Margaret Thatcher, saying he wished there were “someone like her now”.

    John Bird MBE is the founder of The Big Issue and currently president of The Big Issue Foundation Board of Trustees. With no party-political allegiance, The Big Issue campaigns on behalf of homeless and socially excluded people. In June 1993, The Big Issue went weekly, and regional sister titles were later established in cities around the UK and subsequently in Australia, South Africa and the USA. In June 1995, John Bird was awarded the MBE for ‘services to homeless people’ and in 2006 he received the prestigious Beacon Fellowship Prize for his energy and originality in raising awareness of homelessness and his support of homeless communities worldwide. John Bird was nominated for life peerage by the House of Lords Appointments Commission in October 2015 to become a non-party-political peer.

    Dr Clifford Mann qualified in 1986 from London University. He undertook postgraduate training in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. He was appointed as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine to Taunton & Somerset Hospital in 1999. He has been Training Programme Director and Head of School for Emergency Medicine in South West England. In 2013 he was elected President of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. In 2015 he was credited by the HSJ as one of the ‘Top 10 Clinical Leaders in the NHS’ and in 2017 as one of the ‘hundred most influential people in health’. In 2016, Clifford was appointed National Clinical Advisor (A&E) at NHS England and in 2017 was appointed GIRFT National Clinical Co-Lead for NHSI. He was awarded an OBE for service to emergency medicine in the 2018 New Year’s Honours List. He continues to work as a full time EM clinician in Taunton.

    Paul was a career Royal Marines Officer. He spent 24 years in Britain’s elite fighting-force, reaching the rank of Major and specialising in Reconnaissance and Mountain Warfare. Paul served in numerous operational arenas, including Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Afghanistan; and was cited for his leadership in both Belize and Bosnia. Since departing the military 10 years ago Paul has worked briefly in the film industry, making films in the Himalayas and in Afghanistan. He now spends his time developing teams and leaders within sport, business and industry, and he leads expeditions annually to Morocco, Tanzania, Norway and Nepal. Morwenna was the lead mechanical engineer for the Sainsbury Laboratory in Cambridge, which in 2012 won the most sought-after accolade in the industry – the RIBA Stirling Prize. In 2015 Morwenna featured in Property Week’s ‘Forty under 40’ list of young entrepreneurs, disrupters and leaders. Morwenna has a passion for all aspects of design and was one of the 27 women showcased in the 2014 ‘Women Fashion Power’ exhibition at the Design Museum, alongside Princess Diana, Dame Vivienne Westwood and Dame Zaha Hadid.

    Mandy’s route to the top was tumultuous in every sense – awarded a RAF flying scholarship at 17, long before she even passed her driving test, she went on to win aerobatic competitions whilst still a student. However, despite her prowess in the skies, she failed the computer-based tests, taken by all potential RAF pilots. Undeterred, her self-belief and dogged determination persuaded the RAF to take her on as a test case, thereby overcoming seemingly insurmountable hurdles. Mandy relates her experiences of working within an elite team of fast jet operators with great clarity, outlining how the same values apply within any environment. She demonstrates only too well the importance of remaining calm under pressure and leading, quite literally, from the front, in order to get the best from herself and her team. Since leaving the RAF Mandy has served as a school governor, on the board of trustees at the Victory Services Club, London and is an ambassador for sport for Hampshire County Council.

    Cardiff-born Jeremy Bowen, BBC Foreign Correspondent for more than 20 years and the BBC’s Middle East Editor is a journalist and television presenter. He joined the BBC in 1984 and has reported from more than 70 different countries, predominantly in the Middle East and in the Balkans. He reported during the Bosnian War and the Kosovo conflict, during which he was robbed at gunpoint by bandits. In 2013, while reporting for the BBC the protests in Egypt, he was shot in the head with shotgun pellets. He escaped without major injury. He was one of the few journalists inside Syria reporting on the civil war. In February 2015, he spoke with President Bashar al-Assad about the ongoing Syrian conflict during an exclusive BBC interview.

    Youngest daughter of the well-known former champion amateur, trainer and television pundit Ted Walsh, Katie Walsh is one of the leading Irish amateur riders. She has a string of big race successes to her name including the Kerry National in 2014 and the biggest prize in Irish jump racing, the Irish Grand National, in April 2015, becoming only the third woman to ride the winner of the race. Three years earlier she rode her father’s Seabass to finish third in the Aintree Grand National, which was the best position ever attained by a female rider in the race. Katie enjoyed her first Grade 1 success when partnering the Willie Mullins-trained Blow By Blow to win the attheraces.com Champion INH Flat Race at Punchestown in 2016.
