Even if you know aren't familiar with Ayruveda, you're going to love today's incredible guest and walk away with advice and super easy tips that you can implement into your everyday life right away for big results.   On today's show I'm talking to Andrea Claassen, an Ayurvedic Coach, personal trainer, and new moon circle leader. Her mission is to help the type A mom slow down, tune in and connect to her divine body wisdom. Andrea is a wealth of information and breaks things down in ways that are simple and easy to understand.  We talk about what Ayurveda entails, the 3 different types of doshas and qualities associated with each that we can recognize in ourselves, and specific tools to use when we become out of balance.   We also really get into the connection that our bodies have to nature, how the seasons impact us and why we might need to change the way we eat with the seasons, and daily rituals and practices that can be incorporated easily into everyday life.   One of the biggest takeaways that I loved from this podcast episode is that Andrea stresses how Ayurveda teaches us to go inwards and have a better understanding around the fact that all of the answers are within ourselves. The older I get, the more I have come to recognize the value in this inner practice and listening to your gut, tuning in to what your body/mind actually really need.   5 elements of Ayurveda are fire, water, air, earth and ether.  3 types of doshas: vatta, pitta and koffa This episode is a wealth of information and you're going to feel reconnected to yourself when you're finished.  And if you love it as much as I do, let me know!  Shoot me an email or reach out on Instagram with your favourite part, I'd love to thank you in real life for listening!     FIND ANDREA www.andreaclaassen.com Instagram @andreaclaassen21 Facebook @ Andrea Claassen Peaceful Power Podcast   REFERENECS Change Your Schedule, Change Your Life, by Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar Find full show notes including all resources mentioned in the episode at emilygoughcoaching.com/045 roomtogrowpodcast.com   DON’T MISS… Want to chat more and do a deeper dive into this topic and get access to live videos, exclusive guest appearances and discussions?  The Room to Grow Podcast Facebook group is a judgement-free safe space to open up, and I’d love to welcome you in with the other amazing women in the group.  It’s the best place to go for a little extra support.  See you over there! About the book: Ever wondered why you’re feeling out of balance, stressed-out, sick, and exhausted but still can’t sleep? Western medicine often ignores the underlying issues that can lead to fatigue, illness, and disease, but there is a way to revitalize your body and mind without drugs or dangerous side effects. Ayurveda, the “science of life,” is a complete wellness system that includes all that we associate with medical care — prevention of disease, observation, diagnosis, and treatment — as well as self-care practices that are generally absent from Western medicine. This truly holistic approach considers not just diet, exercise, and genetics but also relationships, life purpose, finances, environment, and past experiences. In this thorough and practical book, Michelle Fondin guides you gently through self-assessment questions designed to zero in on your needs and the best practices for addressing them, such as eating plans, addiction treatment, detoxification, and techniques for improving relationships. She outlines steps you can take, with minimal cost, to heal common ailments such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, excess weight, anxiety, and depression. These time-tested methods for body, mind, and spirit wellness offer benefits to anyone at any age. About the author: Author of The Wheel of Healing: An Easy Guide to an Ayurvedic Lifestyle and owner of The Ayurvedic Path Yoga and Wellness Studio since 2008, Michelle Fondin practices as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor, yoga and meditation teacher. She holds a Vedic Master certificate from the Chopra Center and has worked with Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon at Chopra Center events teaching yoga and meditation. Michelle also writes for Chopra.com. Michelle regularly sees clients in Herndon, Virginia, teaching them how to live an Ayurvedic Lifestyle and achieve optimal wellness. She’s a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, The Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America and Yoga Alliance.

Now there's a question you don't hear every day on the streets of downtown USA, Europe or Asia. But it's one that our hearts long to answer, whether or not we yet even understand the question. As Eastern philosophies are more and more accepted in the Western world, the terms, dharma and karma have been tossed about quite a bit. But really, do you know your dharma? Well, Lissa Coffey comes to the Authentic Living show today for the second time to introduce us to our dharma. Her book just out, entitled What's Your Dharma? Discover the Vedic Way to Your Life's Purpose” is the subject of our talk today. Author of 6 books and expert on relationship, Ayruveda, Feng Shi, Aromatherapy, Hypnotherapy and other ancient philosophies, Lissa brings profound insight, about which Deepak Chopras says: “Your heart will thank you for Lissa's helpful and heartful vision.” Don't miss it.
