Hi everyone! Welcome back to another episode of The Chai on Life Podcast. I'm Alex Segal, and today we have Rebekah Saltzman on the show. Rebekah is an organizing wizard who is going to help all of us get into the decluttering and organization mindset today.Rebekah holds a degree in fashion design from Parsons School of Design, and for many years worked as a graphic designer. Rebekah's passion for the environment and helping people improve their lives drove her to change careers and create her brand, Balagan Be Gone.Rebekah's straightforward approach to managing “stuff” and her no-nonsense ability to get to the heart of what is important combines with her people skills to help people take control of their lives through organization. I love what she says when it comes to clearing out your space to make room for shefa and abundance to flow into your life. We speak about getting rid of the “just incase” mindset and what our relationship with Hashem has to do with decluttering.We also get to tachlis questions like what to do with the plethora of kids projects and toys that may come into your home, whether to involve kids in the process or not and how to do so, what to do if you're feeling overwhelmed at getting started and how to break free of that, what to do with seasonal items in your home and soooo much more.Also, I hate to bring up Pesach – and don't worry we have time! But it is coming and while you certainly do not have to declutter and organize your whole house for Pesach, there is something about this time of year with spring coming that makes you want to feel lighter, clean things out, and just get control of everything after a long winter where things may have built up. There is the phrase, spring cleaning, after all. Journaliste, directrice adjointe de la rédaction du quotidien français «Libération», Alexandra Schwartzbrod est aussi essayiste et romancière, autrice entre autres de la trilogie policière «Balagan», «Adieu Jérusalem» et «Les lumières de Tel-Aviv». Pour la première fois, elle publie un récit personnel sous le titre «Éclats» dans la collection «Traits et portraits», aux éditions Mercure de France. « J'aime les grilles des demeures entrouvertes, les chambres d'hôtel que l'on découvre la première fois, les lits défaits, et les voiles blancs qui dansent aux fenêtres, gonflés par le vent. »A.S.Dans cet autoportrait qui mêle violence de l'histoire et passion de l'intime, Alexandra Schwartzbrod rassemble les fragments d'une vie et nous éclaire sur son parcours de journaliste, depuis ses débuts au journal Les Échos puis à Libération, où elle est aujourd'hui directrice adjointe de la rédaction. À 20 ans, elle s'oriente par hasard vers l'armement, fréquentant un milieu interlope, principalement masculin. À 40 ans, en 2000, elle part à Jérusalem comme correspondante de Libération, pensant vivre un événement historique, la création d'un État palestinien, qui signerait la paix entre Israël et les Palestiniens. Elle assistera plutôt à la deuxième Intifada. Ce conflit reste une tragédie, amplifiée par les attaques du Hamas en Israël le 7 octobre 2023 et la riposte israélienne sur Gaza. Même si la paix semble être aujourd'hui une utopie, Alexandra Schwartzbrod refuse de ne plus y croire.Voici une vie de femme libre, d'amoureuse, de journaliste, de mère, d'écrivaine, une vie où l'engagement a toujours été au rendez-vous. Le festival francilien Jazz'n'klezmer fête ses 20 ans avec ses 3 mots-clés : yiddish, klezmer et jazz. Les Marx Sisters et Boogie Balagan, à l'affiche 2022, interpréteront 2 titres dans la #SessionLive et Laurence Haziza, directrice artistique présentera 2 groupes à l'affiche : Jowee Omicil & Randy Kerber et Yemen Blues.  Qui sont les Marx Sisters ? Marx est leur vrai nom. On a beau jeter un œil du côté de Groucho, Chico ou Harpo, rien n'y fait, ce sont bien des sœurs et elles chantent en yiddish. Marx Sisters est un groupe français de musique juive ashkénaze venant du Yiddishland d'Europe Centrale, mais interprète également un répertoire des chansons de comédies musicales de compositeurs juifs des États-Unis. Le groupe a été fondé par Mano Siri en 2012. Le groupe perpétue le répertoire yiddish et klezmer dans ce qu'il a de festif et d'universel. Le groupe débute en duo familial : Mano Siri accompagne sa fille Leah Marx à la guitare avec l'idée de perpétuer un répertoire ashkénaze traditionnel. Le duo devient quatuor lorsque les deux autres filles de Mano Siri, Judith Marx et Milena Marx décident de s'y joindre. Le groupe s'étend à deux musiciens du cercle des connaissances : Raphaël Setty et Benjamin Chabert. Le groupe forme un quintet, soutenu ponctuellement dans certaines prestations par des musiciens invités. Half of the duo, Tommy aka AK47 from hardcore band BudBurNerz, has been raised by the 90's rave music.
