It's a wonderful mixed bag this week on BEHIND THE LENS thanks to director TERRY LOANE and his beautiful new film THE LAST RIFLEMAN, and actor COLIN CUNNINGHAM with his scene-stealing performance in HE NEVER LEFT (not to mention his ongoing role in Kevin Costner's "Horizon: An American Saga"). Kicking off the show is the perfect film for this Veteran's Day – THE LAST RIFLEMAN – and my exclusive interview with director TERRY LOANE. Inspired by the true story of WWII UK/Irish Veteran Bernard Jordan, we follow the adventure of Artie Crawford (age 92 3/4). After the death of his wife, he sneaks out of his nursing home and makes his way to France to reunite with his brothers-in-arms and honor the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. Starring Pierce Brosnan as Artie along with John Amos in one of his final performances as a US veteran, and Jürgen Prochnow as a veteran of the Nazi war machine, there is plenty of emotionality in this film that is balanced with a light visual tone. Then, he's baaaaack! That's right, the wonderful COLIN CUNNINGHAM returns to #BTLRadioShow talking about his latest performance in the slasher/serial killer/thriller HE NEVER LEFT, something very very different from his other performances as well as "The Little Pink House" which we spoke about with his last BTL appearance. A blood-soaked adventure to be sure, HE NEVER LEFT is chilling and Colin's performance is explosively over-the-top with anxious freneticism as well as a wonderful character arc filled with growth and redemption. And no surprise here, I Colin also discusses his role in multiple chapters of Kevin Costner's "Horizon: An American Saga" as he dives into Costner's directorial style and the beauty and meaning of the unfolding story of the American West. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

Long-time Hollywood actor Colin Cunningham (“Horizon: An American Saga”, “The 6th Day”, “Da Vinci’s Inquest”, “Stargate”) joins Andy Farnsworth to talk about how impressed he is with the movie industry in Utah. Cunningham moved from New York to Utah in 2020 to be near family and, in his own words, thought his career was going to be over. But he was blown away by the level of talented actors here, and the emerging filmmaking voices. He says aspiring actors shouldn’t think they have move to L.A. or N.Y. to make it, since there are more and more great opportunities available right here in our own backyard. He also his strong feelings about the current quality of most of the content coming out of Hollywood (he’s not impressed), and talks about his experience in Kevin Costner’s filmed-in-Utah epic “Horizon: An American Saga”, and his upcoming project “The Pendragon Chronicles”. Listen to The Movie Show with Andy Farnsworth and Steve Salles on Fridays from 11 am to 1 pm on 102.7 FM & 1160 AM, kslnewsradio.com, or on the KSL NewsRadio App. Follow the show on Facebook at @TheMovieShow and join The Movie Show Club for exclusive perks! Incredibly during the thousands of assessments her company has carried out she has seen people working from their cars (a full 8 hour day) and another who was working from a wardrobe in an attempt to get quiet from kids at home. This week on the podcast, we are joined by none other than Colin Cunningham, an absolute chameleon of the screen to talk about his short film, Centigrade, which he is currently turning into a full-length feature film! We also discuss the difficulties and blessings of directing and writing your own films. Check it out!For more information about how you can contribute to Centigrade to get the film made, visit centigrademovie.com
Directed by, written by and starring Colin Cunningham (“Falling Skies”, “Preacher”), Centigrade was the short film that could. Premiering in 2008, the film went on to win numerous awards, including the Cinequest Film Festival award for Best Narrative Short Film, which qualified it for an Oscar nomination. Originally conceived as a feature film, the short takes a segment from the script that works on its own. The story about a man (Cunningham) who wakes up to become the victim of a unique kind of justice is both intense and horrifying. Now the film makers are going to be bringing the full vision to life, and they want you to be a part of it! They have launched a Kickstarter campaign to get the ball rolling on the project. An official synopsis for the film teases a story about five locals linked by a dark secret, with a lone black pickup rolling into town to deliver karmic justice. If the short is anything to go by, we are going to be in for a treat and I can't wait to see it come to life. Recently, we had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Colin about Centigrade and how you can get involved. We also talked about acting and directing, as well as some amazing stories from his career. Check it out, and make sure to visit Centigrademovie.com to learn more about the short film and the Kickstarter.

On this episode, Joey Stanizzi, Colin Cunningham, and Dylan Schuett interview Mario Beltran, head strength coach and aspiring national champion in Olympic weightlifting. He left a stable job to pursue his passions in the fitness industry and he hasn't looked back since.Beltran, from Tyler, Texas, has been competing in Olympic lifting since 2018. He was met with the decision not too long before to either stick to his steady job or pursue a career in fitness. If most people were in his position, they would've stuck like a leech to the steady job, especially considering he's entering one of the most saturated industries in the world, and he doesn't have a college degree to fall back on.He explains in the interview how he'd much rather fail at something he's passionate about and that when it comes between money and passion, you have to choose passion every time. Like the most successful people in the world say, if you love it enough, and you give it enough of your energy, you can make a living off of it. If you think about it, it's true. Once upon a time, Harvey Ball drew a smiley face outlined with a circle and filled it with yellow. Today, SmileyWorld owns the design and makes over $250 million a year. It's amazing what passion can do._____________What an insightful interview and the perfect example of pursuing what you love most. On this episode, Joey Stanizzi, Colin Cunningham, and Dylan Schuett discuss the topic of the day - If we could pick anyone to mentor us, past or present, who would it be and why?Our initial guest that we were expecting to have on could not make the interview, so we improvised and had a good friend of ours, Clark Kerner, on for today's episode. Clark Is the epitome of sticking to your path. His passion is hockey. Unlike most, he embraces the journey instead of solely desiring the end goal. He committed to play division 1 college hockey at a young age but unfortunately, the school de-committed him. Clark was just coming off a very serious injury that had him sleeping in a reclining chair for the better half of a year. He talks about his experience coming off of a major injury, his love for the journey, his ability to keep a cool mind during the whole process, and much more. Not by chance, the day he lost his D1 commit, he went out and put on his A-performance, proving his ability to keep a level head. He put up two points in that day's game. He continues to fight for the game he loves and we are confident this underdog story will be one that comes out on top. It's another jam-packed and eclectic episode of BEHIND THE LENS as we go dark with UNFRIENDED: DARK WEB, do a summer sizzle with the cast of HOT SUMMER NIGHTS, and revisit LITTLE PINK HOUSE with our special guest, COLIN CUNNINGHAM. First up we hear from the cast of HOT SUMMER NIGHTS. A real summer sizzler from writer/director Elijah Bynum, HOT SUMMER NIGHTS is a coming-of-age tale set against an East Coast beach community and an impending hurricane. (And I don't know which is more volatile – teenaged hormones or a hurricane.) HOT SUMMER NIGHTS is an explosion of beauteous stylized visual (and gorgeous color composition) married to a period-perfect 90's musical montage, serving as the framework for strong performances from Timothee Chalamet, Alex Roe ("The Fith Wave", "Forever My Girl"), Maika Monroe ("Independence Day: Resurgence", "The 5th Wave") and Maia Mitchell ("The Fosters"). Take a listen to excerpts of our exclusive interviews with ALEX ROE, MAIKA MONROE, and MAIA MITCHELL as they talk about their respective attractions to the story and getting into some very different character skins. Then we welcome veteran actor COLIN CUNNINGHAM, one of the stars of LITTLE PINK HOUSE, now available on DVD/On Demand. Listen as Colin talks about the importance of a film like LITTLE PINK HOUSE, a true story that focuses on the issue of eminent domain in the United States, and then balances that with his experiences on a series like "Falling Skies" or "Preacher" or a fun-filled tv-movie like "Mr. St. Nick". Calling in live from the set of his new film, "Bashira", a Japanese horror film, Colin's enthusiasm and excitement for his craft are palpable as he talks about performance and his approach to the industry plus, his overall body of work. We wrap up the show with an excerpt from our exclusive interview with writer/director STEPHEN SUSCO who talks about his new film UNFRIENDED: DARK WEB. Thanks to Timur Bekmambetov, we were introduced to the new film language of "ScreenLife" or "Screen Reality" with "Unfriended." Stephen now continues to explore ScreenLife with UNFRIENDED: DARK WEB. Take a listen as he talks about not only his approach in taking ScreenLife to the next level, but in developing a story rooted within the very fears of so many, the Dark Web. http://behindthelensonline.net http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

The @LegendsOfShield (Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Agents Stargate Pioneer and Lauren have fun with the 2005 Marvel Comic based movie Elektra! This week’s podcast hosts duo will also run down the week in Marvel news, and review down all the awesome Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. feedback. First 13 Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. podcasts [1:57] Now available again exclusively on the ww.LegendsOfShield.com website for download or streaming. Elektra [2:26] Lauren and Stargate Pioneer don;t cringe as much as they thought they would and actually took this week's Elektra watch to just enjoy an entertaining film. That's right, it is not a bad as Lauren remembers or that Stargate Pioneer thought he was going to think Elektra was. They still have issues with the film, but it is a great Saturday afternoon in the background movie to have playing. It's a good popcorn film that just didn't live up to it's potential. Among the many issue with the film was that Lauren doesn’t get the Jennifer Garner hawtness. She's never really been Stargate Pioneer's favorite either, but he did recognize the hotness on the screen in front of him. However, Lauren did love Goran Visnjic because of ER. Both hosts loved the supporting cast including Hiro Conagonwa, Colin Cunningham, Jason Isaacs and Terrance Stamp. The two fawned over Colin from his apperances in Stargate SG-1 at Maj Davis and his more recent renegade role in Falling Skies. One of Staragte Pioneer's issues was the introduction narration. It was a big disconnect with the Ben Affleck Daredevil film that Jennifer Garner/Elektra started in. Lauren had an issue with Treasure and the mystiscm in the movie in general. Maybe because the two hosts have a spot of OCD themselves, they both took note of Elektra's OCD and wondered why it was in there to begin with. Lauren brought up that it was a connection with Abby which is as good of a reason as any but it really brought nothing forward in the film other than perhaps an intruder tip off for Elektra. Both hosts are in grave awe over Elektra's one handed pullups and it reminded StarPi of either Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2 or Stephen Amell's workout scene in Arrow. StarPi brings up in jest a shirtless Jennifer Garner scene and Lauren shocks him by telling him it might actually have been a possibility early on in the film creation for a Rated R cut. Neither hosts were very impressed with the colored gasses when someone died. They can only reference them as fart villains as seen this television season in Gotham and Flash. Both hosts noticed the nice compound bow but they are both disappointed that they only get to see it once n the movie. Lauren brings up that sai weapons are originally peasant defensive hidden weapon and not originally offensive weapons. So Elektra is WRONG. One of the best part of the movie was the CGI'ed tattoo animals. Great CGI. Bright colors. Pretty cool. In true prepper fashion StarPi is now hard at work digging an escape tunnel to the field behind the house. Cause every house should have one. It's been said before but ninjas have terrible costumes. Another great part of this movie was the action scenes. The action was great with stunt people, wire foo and bullet time. Don;t forget the throwing stars as climbing footholds. Being the dad of a kid superhero sucks. The only thing poor Goran has going for him is superpower puppy eyes and his ability to get Elektra. Which brings up a question: What exactly is the mourning period in comic book world? Lauren's definitive answer? 3 issues. Every body has a type. Elektra’s type is blind guys. Is Elektra good or bad? Who knows? But she does look good sporting the braid of justice. So it's no Agent May - Agent 33 fight, but the Abby – Elektra fight is good despite obvious stunt personnel. The two hosts think about what the ability to have mind to mind conference call in dreams would do for you at work. One word: weird. Elektra’s outfit looks gooood. It's not functional. It's not realistic. It's just good. And finally what's with with room of flying Casper sheets? EXTRAS: Lauren finished Dragon Age Inquisition. Lauren always wanted to live in a hole in the ground. While StarPi has indeed visited the Ingalls family dugout site in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. From the wonderful mind of Lauren she reaches in for a recommendation for: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. In case of emergency Lauren's bug-out plan was always to live in a hole and then move into the Mall. Lauren brings up the crazy Steve Jackson card game: Ninja Burger. Lauren brings up her Star Wars nightmare with a butter dish with googly eyes. Everyone please be nice to Lauren until Star Wars VII comes out later this year.
