Un agent d’entretien de la STM est venu nous dire la semaine dernière à quel point son travail est difficile à cause de l'augmentation de l’itinérance et de la violence. In this fascinating conversation, Nathan sits down with PA Constable Timothy Kregiel to explore the often-overlooked history of Pennsylvania Constables and their vital role in the state's law enforcement landscape. Constables are entrusted with full police powers and authority, similar to those of Sheriffs, but they often fly under the radar or are misidentified and forgotten in discussions about policing. Their responsibilities include protecting the public, making arrests, serving warrants, and assisting with traditional police duties. In many ways, their role mirrors that of Sheriffs, the only other elected law enforcement officials in Pennsylvania. Most States have similar services, especially those of the original 13 colonies. Tune in for a deeper understanding of Pennsylvania's rich history in law enforcement and discover how you can help take control of your local communities by supporting you elected Law Enforcement officials. In 1994, some of the most classic hip-hop albums were released, and tucked in with all of them was todays topic - the debut LP from rapper O.C. titled Word...Life. This Brooklyn artist shined on this album attacking phoney rappers. While Organized Konfusion, Lord Finesse and DJ Ogee all chipped in beats, production was primarily handled by Buck Wild making this album an underrated classic. https://www.tiktok.com/@brandonhetzel996?_t=8sdHdPpF1os&_r=1 https://www.instagram.com/str8_the_clippa/profilecard/?igsh=cTBzNnFhenRkN3Nl https://www.facebook.com/share/1B41APt9E1/?mibextid=wwXIfr

We learn what their reporting found and why it matters. Also this hour: We meet Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock, the new board chair for Houston METRO, the agency that oversees public transit in Harris County. She's the first Hispanic woman to serve in that role. Lucrative pay and enticing housing packages are luring a number of Kiwi police officers across the ditch. Australian police figures show 77 officers are leaving to work in Queensland, and close to 20 are heading off to the Northern Territory. Constables starting out in the region start out on $100,000 a year, and experienced officers could expect a $118,000 base salary- with $20,000 on offer to cover relocation costs. Police Association president Chris Cahill is concerned these numbers could snowball if officers who leave are open about these incentives. "The real concern is- if they get over there and what they see is as good as they've been told. They'll start telling their mates, one tells one etc. It's a real concern." God Created Law Enforcement Officers, what does that mean? It seems obvious, but we seem to have forgotten our local heroes, those warriors who keep our communities safe and protect our individual rights of where we live. The right to freedom of property, freedom of safety and freedom to gather and voice our political opinions. The soldiers on those front lines are Law Enforcement Officers (LEO). LEO's have a thankless job in America and are themselves targeted and under attack. Most people could not do the job of these brave men and women in blue. MASSIVE INSANE SPOILER WARNING!!!!Apologies in advance for Alec's mic, he is traveling for the holidays and did not have the proper audio equipment to record this episode. Anyways, this week Alec and Justin discuss the latest Whodunnit film, “See How they Run”. It seems like a resurgence of the genre is happening these days, but the twist with this one is, it's based in 1950's London and revolves around a murder in a theater. Stellar cast, funny moments, and very nice costume & set design. Justin does his darnedest to convince Alec this is a good film, let's see if he succeeds. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!!!!

There's hope a new pay deal for police will see less disruption in the daily lives of officers. Constables through to senior sergeants who have a roster change within 14 days, will now get $100. An extra $50 will be paid out for subsequent changes during the same two week period. Police Association President Chris Cahill told Mike Hosking it will penalise short notice changes staff had been experiencing. He says in the past, the shift changes were happening even on big events such as Christmas and Easter. The money will also be available for police civilian staff. Shownotes “Policing is a service to the citizen, when citizen needs the policemen, the policemen should be there at the police station. This is the responsibility of a democratically elected government, this is a guarantee given under the constitution to protect the life and property of every citizen.” Maintaining law and order is a state subject in India. This means that each of India's 28 states has the responsibility to ensure an effective and efficient police force that ensures the safety and security of all. Though all states have their own laws all of them are modelled on the Police Act of 1861. This was designed to: control a subject population; isolate the police from the public and obey the orders of the rulers of the day rather than protect the rule of law. The question is, is this the model we want to keep 75 years after independence and if not what can be done to change it. √ Public perception of police is at an all time low √ Police forces in India (both central and state) are short staffed √ India, the second-most populous nation in the world, has amongst the lowest global police to population ratios at 158 for 100,000. This is inadequate when compared to UN recommendations on 222 personnel per lakh √ Police personnel work long hours without weekly offs, heavy work load, inadequate training √ Constables constitute 86% of the police forces and they are generally promoted only once in their career resulting in lack of motivation There is a difference between the police that we have and the police we need. Experts are clear that policing has to change from merely maintaining law and order and preventing crime to being one that is a first responder in creating a public environment in which all can enjoy every right to the fullest within the framework of rule of law. In the 4th episode of the podcast Jacob Punnose ex-DGP and State Police Chief of Kerala and Jayanto Choudhury ex-DG NSG and ex-DGP Assam Police talk about the systemic issues that ail India policing - the conditions of work; budgets; internal culture; accountability; public perception …….. Today is primary day in Pennsylvania. I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute. Here in Pennsylvania, the primary has become quite interesting. Trump has endorsed Dr. Oz for the US Senate and went as far as to disparage the other Republican candidates. The leading Democrat candidate for that US Senate seat had a stroke over the weekend. If you watch this in video format, you can see that I am wearing a uniform. This is because I am a Pennsylvania State Constable, and election days are essential to Constables. The only mandatory job of a Pennsylvania State Constable is to guard the polls on election day. I make sure everyone is allowed to vote, and there is no voter intimidation. I will be bouncing between the five polling locations in my little town for the 13 hours the polls are open today. The party, now rested, makes plans to head towards Sloane. They decide that they would head around the mountains of Tarren Ridge, avoiding Antonius, to the Constables machine out by Dragonborn Valley. However, the day starts with Cereius gone, along with all his possessions. Assuring themselves that he was safe and only doing what was needed for him and his goddess, they make their way. Zechs and Galahad discuss their futures, their headspaces, their plans, and what they should do with Kyver's lingering Orcus problem. As their watch ends they come to find that Kyver has left as well, and while not having anything to do with Orcus the group is still concerned. They push through and hope that he will be safe and return to them. The next night is also filled with lots of tension and unease as the party begins their watches. Shanks and Arguile have a very heated conversation with Elrin after he shared some bombshell revelations with them. They come out of their conversation to find a displacer beast heading for Salix.
