The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have strengthened their roster after the playoff appearance last season and have added weapons like Emeka Egbuka to help Mike Evans and Baker Mayfield in the passing game. The Atlanta Falcons look like they're turning the reins over to Michael Penix Jr who will have a stable of talent to throw the ball to - Kyle Pitts, Drake London and Bijan Robinson. The Panthers and Saints will be looking to surprise teams this year. Bryce Young came on strong at the end of 2024 and will look to solidify his status as the Carolina Panthers starting QB for the foreseeable future while Kellen Moore looks like he will work on steadying the New Orleans Saints ship after a few unsteady seasons following Drew Brees' retirement. In this episode of Take-Away with Sam Oches, Sam talks with Jeff Fenster, the founder and CEO of Everbowl, an acai bowl concept that has grown to 100 locations in nine years, and which now counts athletes like Jayson Tatum, Drew Brees, and Shaquille O'Neal among its investors. Much of Everbowl's success can be attributed to Jeff's knack for disruption in the marketplace, his entrepreneurial mindset, and his intense passion for his business. For example, Jeff started an entire construction company just so he could cut down on build-out costs and build Everbowl stores more quickly. Jeff joined the podcast to talk about how he's rethinking the standard way restaurateurs scale their businesses and why there's no replacement for hard work, determination, and love for what you do for a living. In this conversation, you'll find out why:As a restaurant leader you should be a problem solver, not a problem seekerYour competition isn't necessarily in your categoryStreamlining your construction process could help you grow fasterEvery restaurant you open will teach you something about location and real estateThe opportunities right in front of you are the catalysts for brand change If you love what you do and work hard toward your goals, you can be unstoppable Register for CREATE, our event for emerging restaurateurs, by clicking here. Donny Football Debrief – Poni skipped a field trip to a Yankees game in Little League, and missed a perfect game. Is Ben Roethlisberger a better quarterback all time than Brett Favre? The guys do not think so. Donny thinks Ben is around 12th best all time, while Favre is around the 8th. Poni mentions that Brees gets dinged for playing in a dome, but Favre doesn't get any credit for playing in bad weather. Mullsy says that Favre's last season was statistically better than any season Ben had. Poni says that he is going to bet on the Hall of Fame Game.
Isaiah Likely was carted off the field at practice today, John Harbaugh called it a multi-week injury. Greg Newsome was also carted off the field, and his injury is assumed to be bad. The guys disagree with the Ravens being the Super Bowl favorites, according to Fanduel. They think that the Ravens will run into a wall against Kansas City or Buffalo. Pirates Broadcaster Greg Brown joined the show. Greg says that he still thinks that Ben Cherington will make a big trade before the deadline. Brown says it's possible that David Bednar has pitched his last game as a Pirate, but it's also possible that he will remain a Pirate. He also says that Bednar took PNC Park all in after his 100th save. Brownie says that he's confident that Cruz and Skenes will remain Pirates at the deadline. He also says the Pirates should take advantage of desperate teams at the deadline, and that the Pirates need a left fielder. What's the Pirates best deadline move? Poni and Mullsy name JA Happ, Zane Smith as potential answers. Mullsy says that JA Happ should have pitched the Wild Card game against Jake Arrieta. Tony Watson for Oneil Cruz was a great trade, but not good enough to be the best ever. A commenter says that Austin Hedges for bonus pool money should be in contention. Poni says that the Red Sox do not like Mitch Keller. Donny Football Debrief – Poni skipped a field trip to a Yankees game in Little League, and missed a perfect game.
