Today I am talking to the WONDERFUL Ruby Peacock, one of my fabulous students and I'm so proud to call her my friend. You are gonna fall in love with her!! Ruby is an ex-spaceNK educator, turned bridal artist, turned educator. Her thing? She helps people find their signature artistry style and has created an absolutely 10/10 course called Face Facts, teaching artists how to do makeup on hooded eyes, mature eyes, prominent eyes and deep set eyes (with skin/base coming soon I'm sure!). She basically created the course to teach the skills every makeup artist needs, but is not necessarily taught. We talk about doom scrolling, imposter syndrome and how to work with it, and the BTS behind building a course! We talk about the educator space and how we are trying to fit into it. Honestly, what didn't we talk about. Prepare to fall in love with the incredible Ruby Peacock!Follow Ruby here on her educational accountCheck out her FABULOUS website here and courses. Christine speaks with Joseph McGuire, a Facial Analysis Expert, Behavioural Negotiation Consultant, Online Communication Skills Trainer and Author.Joseph has taught the ancient Chinese skill of Face Reading (Mien Shiang) since 1985, initially as a diagnostic tool for healthcare professionals. He is now focused on presenting it as a tool for enhancing communication in business. Having taught and honed his techniques over more than 35 years, Joseph has developed a mastery of observational skills. His work now combines Face Reading with FBI techniques from the worlds of body language, interrogation and negotiation. He works with the understanding that mind, body and spirit are inseparably connected.CHRISTINE AND JOSEPH DISCUSS:Mien Shiang, the ancient Chinese art of face reading. Our forgotten natural communicative abilities.Language and presence. The courage to reach out and share.Believing what you see.The importance of the context of lying.BEST MOMENTS“It's a 3000-year-old tradition used in Chinese medicine, Chinese business and Chinese politics. I was introduced to it back in 1981.”-Joseph“I just intuitively knew about people's character, knew who was being really honest, who was holding back, who was confident and who was putting on a mask.”-Joseph“We've learned to trust and fear differently.”-Christine“Language proficiency does not indicate communication competence.”-Christine“There's an old saying that when you meet someone whose eyebrows meet, you should never trust them. That's actually inaccurate. The reality is they are less likely to trust you.”-Joseph“Part of what motivates me is to help women understand men.”-JosephGUEST RESOURCESinfo@clearsightcommunications.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/clearsightcommunications/ https://clearsightcommunications.com/ABOUT THE HOSTChristine Mullaney is a TEDx speaker, Podcast Host, Public Speaking, Presentation and Pronunciation Coach, and Neurocultural™ Communication Trainer. Episode 112: This week on Thinking Deeply about Primary Education, I'm joined by Lisa Coe, Shannen Doherty and Sarah Farrell for an in-depth exploration of multiplication tables, the fallout from the first official multiplication check in England and how we can support all pupils in developing automaticity and understanding in this area of mathematics. As part of the chat we discuss... 1. With regards to multiplication tables what comes first, knowing or understanding? 2. What systems or approaches should and can we put in place to help pupils learn about multiplication tables? 3. What did you think of the outcomes of the MTC this year (2022) Is there anything you'd change on a school or systemic level as a result? 4. If we imagine that the MTC is a suitable proxy for pupils knowing their times tables, what would you change on a systemic level so that more than 27% can be considered to know their times tables at the end of Year 4? 5. If pupils are struggling to develop quick or even derivative recall of multiplication facts what can we put in place to support them? ...plus much, much more. Whether you're new to the profession or an experienced senior leader, you won't want to miss this one!

Joseph discusses the importance of fully tuning in to ourselves and paying attention to our feelings and shares a fun political exercise for you to try out in the comforts of your living room. Lastly, would you believe us if we told you that your eyebrows could reveal a lot about you and your character!? We kid you not. Hit play now to hear all about it! Key points throughout include: - An introduction to Joseph McGuire - Trusting your intuition when making career choices - Levels of empathy: emotional and cognitive empathy - Living in alignment with your values - The human experience: moving beyond drama and difficulty - Breaking down barriers virtually online and the universal sense of insecurity - What your eyebrows can reveal about you - The impact of manipulative behaviour - The concept of thin slicing and the power of slowing down: how to communicate with authority - Tuning into your three brains and the power of kindness - The need of exceptional relationships in your personal and professional life ‘‘Neuroscience has demonstrated that we actually have three brains. Our heart is actually telling us a lot.'' – Joseph McGuire. The latest decision on Roe v. Wade must prove what a fascist arm of the oligarchy the SCOTUS is. Little has been decided in favor of the people as opposed to the rulers, owners of this country. From segregation to the latest gutting of the Voting Rights Act, this “legislative branch” is nothing more than a boondoggle. Moreover, if you think the Democrats are just beside themselves over this turn of events, you're an idiot. Sorry, but we got here, mollycoddling the less than serious.
