Lennon Parham is an actor, comedian, writer & producer. She can be seen opposite Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson in the HBOMax comedy MINX, about the fictional creation of the first erotic magazine for women in 1970s LA. Prior to that, she was a series regular in the ABC sitcom BLESS THIS MESS. Previously, she co-created and starred in her own show, PLAYING HOUSE and has recurred as Julia Louis-Dreyfus' hilarious Senior Advisor, “Karen Collins” whose specialized field was “common sense” on HBO's VEEP. She can also be seen rocking shoulder pads as Liz Flemming, the feminist math teacher at William Penn Academy on SCHOOLED, the 90's spin-off of THE GOLDBERGS also on ABC. Additionally, Lennon has made a number of memorable appearances on television including HBO's CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, DOCUMENTARY NOW, GHOSTED, REVIEW WITH FOREST MCNEIL, LADY DYNAMITE, MAD MEN and PARKS AND RECREATION. If you listen closely, you can hear her dulcet tones giving voice to characters on animated shows like BOB'S BURGERS, LITTLE BIG AWESOME, ANIMALS and ADVENTURE TIME, as well as the cult-fave podcast WOMP IT UP! On the feature side, she also had flashy supporting roles in THE HOUSE, HORRIBLE BOSSES 2, CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC and OTHER PEOPLE. Most recently, Lennon directed two episodes on the second season of BLESS THIS MESS. She has also directed an episode of PLAYING HOUSE. She is a proud alumnus of the improv and sketch theater, the Upright Citizens Brigade, and performs there whenever she can. For well over one hundred years, people have been attempting to make American colleges and universities more efficient and more accountable. Indeed, Ethan Ris argues in Other People's Colleges: The Origins of American Higher Education Reform (U Chicago Press, 2022), the reform impulse is baked into American higher education, the result of generations of elite reformers who have called for sweeping changes in the sector and raised existential questions about its sustainability. When that reform is beneficial, offering major rewards for minor changes, colleges and universities know how to assimilate it. When it is hostile, attacking autonomy or values, they know how to resist it. The result is a sector that has learned to accept top-down reform as part of its existence. In the early twentieth century, the “academic engineers,” a cadre of elite, external reformers from foundations, businesses, and government, worked to reshape and reorganize the vast base of the higher education pyramid. Their reform efforts were largely directed at the lower tiers of higher education, but those efforts fell short, despite the wealth and power of their backers, leaving a legacy of successful resistance that affects every college and university in the United States. Today, another coalition of business leaders, philanthropists, and politicians is again demanding efficiency, accountability, and utility from American higher education. But, as Ris argues, top-down design is not destiny. Drawing on extensive and original archival research, Other People's Colleges offers an account of higher education that sheds light on today's reform agenda. Alchemist Nation Podcast With Gualter Amarelo The Real Estate Mentor
The power of outsourcing is this, any job that is under $25/hour, pays someone to do it. Put it under scrutiny, and this will put all other tasks under scrutiny, including some of the stuff you wouldn't expect. Outsourcing can be done in four different ways. The last time I spoke about it, I said it's all about Virtual Assistants. There are four things in your life right now that you can outsource that are slowing you down. Watch the video here FIRST STEP: OTHER PEOPLE You may have heard of OPM. It stands for Other People's Money, the widespread chant in Real Estate. But a successful person does not aim for Other People's Money, they aim for Other People's Resources or OPR, Other People's Knowledge or OPK, Other People's Skills or OPK, and Other People's Time or OPT. Everything is OP something. These are things you can't do within but can multiple a hundred times a thousand times. Other people can be a source of motivation. They can also be a source of automation. SECOND STEP: YOUR ENVIRONMENT Your environment will always be stronger than willpower. “Will-power is not always on will-call.” You may have experienced that at a certain moment, you might be fully charged up and will want to change the whole world, fully amped up! And then, when it comes to doing that, you'll not be as motivated as you were. So, things in our environment can affect how we act, think and act during the day. We can change our environment by the likelihood of doing things. When you get into a complex task, it's easy to forget what must be accomplished. So, you need a checklist. And to complete that checklist, you need to alter your environment in that way so you will be motivated enough. Let's talk about your cellphones. Your wallpaper can dictate how you do things as you spend most of your day looking at that. So, set it to something that motivates you. THIRD STEP: SYSTEMS Systems are anything that would operate without you thinking. It's a pseudo version of willpower, a checklist. Mcdonalds is well-known for having a system for flipping burgers. Anything that would always be done in a certain order. Anything that can be systematized. When you review something and look for efficiency and effectiveness, you are looking for, “I'm building a system”. Survey Marketing is the future. It is what people fill out right now. What we are working on, is the Millionaire Path, a survey; with six questions that shoot out a very generic, “How To Become A Millionaire Based On Your Results”. It's not 100% operational right now but, you can take the Beta Test, and help us with What's Working and What's not working. https://yourmillionairepath.com/ There are over 40 different results that we can put out to answer that because our goal is to automate the Millionaire-Building process. If you don't have a survey right now, you need a survey. Surveys are how you get people to identify what's broken or what's not working in your system. Surveys are how you get people to give you information. Surveys are how you get people's contact information. If you are a Salesperson (Doctor, Crypto, Real Estate Investor, Wholesaler, etc.) you need to have a survey, to automate your businesses for you. Read the full article here Learn More About The 52 Weeks to Wealth This event is not just for the highly successful! You will learn the principles of single and multifamily real estate investing for beginners as well. It's Friday afternoon, the clock is ticking, and your fingers are jumping from one key to the other. You're working furiously, your five o'clock deadline is nearing, and the weekend is just around the corner. But you've still got so much to do and less than an hour to finish. You silently curse yourself for not starting sooner. So, what happened? How did you end up running out of time? Well, there were hours you spent scrolling through social media, your multiple coffee breaks, re-reading emails, and completing tasks that you could've started later. Procrastination haunts all of us. We're all guilty of procrastinating and saying, 'I'll do it later,' or 'I'll start in a while.' But the negative impacts of procrastinating can steal dreams, cause missed opportunities, and even destroy lives. Some people are lucky enough to pinpoint their tendency to procrastinate and how much it holds them back. Let's discuss how procrastination can wreck your dreams and how you can combat it. The Origins of the Procrastination is the Thief of Time Often, Charles Dickens gets the credit for coining the term 'procrastination is the thief of time.' However, the truth is that Dickens popularized the proverb by putting it into the mouth of Mr. Micawber. In 1850, Mr. Micawber said, 'My advice is, never do tomorrow what you can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time.' While Mr. Micawber became a widely quoted character for pronouncing the proverb' procrastination is the thief of time,' he was hardly original. In reality, the phrase is an adage created by English writer Edward Young. Young wrote a 10,000-line poem known as 'The Complaint' or 'Night-Thoughts on Life, Death, and Immortality or simply 'Night-Thoughts.' In this extensive poem, the poet muses over death over the courses of nine' nights,' i.e., nine sections. Young's use of the proverb 'procrastination is the thief of time' goes beyond caution against putting things off. Instead, the poet suggests that time wasted procrastinating one thing is time wasted doing nothing of any consequence. It goes to say that if we delay filling our taxes by arranging our spices alphabetically, the fact remains that we should have done something of far more importance. How Does the Proverb Describe 'Procrastination'? Edward Young describes a procrastinator as someone who procrastinates in doing things at the right time and finds themselves in situations where they had little time to complete the task. Typically, people procrastinate because: • The task is long and complicated. • The activity is tedious and not important. • They prefer doing their pleasurable activities. • They have a careless attitude and believe that nothing wrong will happen if they miss their deadline. • They are over-confident and think that they have enough time/competency to complete the task. • They do it as a result of peer pressure and fear mockery or ridicule if they hand in work early. • They do it due to pure laziness. Why is Procrastination the Thief of Time? 'Procrastination,' deferring a task or putting something off, is the 'thief of time' because you waste time by delaying tasks. This hypothesis potentially embraces two meanings: you are wasting time when you could have accomplished what you need to achieve. And that all procrastination is time-wasting. Let's discuss the top common examples of procrastination: • Someone who spends several days thinking about starting an essential assignment, thus they have to rush to finish work in a hasty and stressful manner. • A person who wastes months before approaching the person they're romantically interested in, thus missing their chance to enter a relationship with them. • Someone who wastes years before starting a project they're passionate about, thus struggling with guilt and shame. • A student who wastes the whole year not studying. According to an insightful study, up to 95% of all people procrastinate to some degree. And with approximately 25% of adults considering procrastination as a defining personality trait, it's no wonder it can be a thief of time that causes various other issues. Another study encompassing over 22,000 employees found that workers in different jobs have different procrastinating habits: ● High Procrastination Jobs- Legal secretaries, library assistants, food servers, sales representatives, and customer service administrators tend to procrastinate the most ● Moderate Procrastination Jobs- Photographers, lawyers, general operation managers, and creative writers often procrastinate ● Low Procrastination Jobs- Chief executives, loan officers, librarians, and economists procrastinate the least Why is Procrastination Bad? Let's take a Closer Look at the Downsides. Procrastination can lead to you missing out on incredible opportunities due to temporary enjoyment. In general, procrastination affects some sectors of your life, such as: • Employment and financial issues • Interpersonal issues • Reduced wellbeing • Worsening of mental and physical health • Delay in getting help • Increased future procrastination • Academic issues Now let's discuss the negative side-effects of procrastination. It can cause: Loss of Time Procrastination makes you realize that you've lost valuable time you could've spent chasing your dreams and achieving your goals. What about Lost Opportunities? Every person I know regretted not taking advantage of an opportunity when it was relevant. In most cases, the underlying cause is procrastination. And the harsh truth is that most opportunities only come by once. Putting Off What Needs to be Done Likely Results in a Poor Product Some people believe that procrastinating motivates them to perform the best. Although it is true for some people, it isn't always the outcome. Completing your essential project at the last minute will probably cause poorer results. What about You Adding Tasks to Other People's Workload No one enjoys getting extra work dumped on them due to another employee's failures. It results in resentment, adds to an employee's workload, and even causes feelings of anxiety. Let's discuss some ways you can stop procrastinating: 1. Make your environment clutter-free and remove distractions to increase your productivity. 2. Arrange some immediate reward you'll receive when you manage to start work. 3. Identify the steps you can take to get started. 4. Figure out what's causing you to procrastinate, think through the causes, and work to resolve them. 5. Keep a prioritized to-do list to avoid forgetting important tasks. 6. Tackle the most challenging task during peak productivity hours. The Bottom Line Procrastination can lead to various academic, employment, financial, and interpersonal issues. Not just this, but procrastination can cause decreased wellbeing, worsen mental health, and make it difficult for you to get appropriate help. Avoid procrastinating and be proactive. Secret number 1 is all about having governing principles. Then having strategies supported by tactics. In this clip, Graham explains how this secret relates to the current pre-crash challenge that many affluent people are facing. http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Graham-Arrowsmith-Secret-1-Organised-Effort.mp4 So, Dan Kennedy says STOP! Think hard and go back to principle. When it comes to money, what is your principle? As Graham says, it might be - I word amend hard for this money so I want to keep and grow it! That then spills down into strategies. It might be hire a great financial adviser. Or, it might be you DIY your finances. The tactics are then all those things you'd do to serve the strategies that fulfil on the principle. #2 MAKE MAXIMUM MONEY Ask yourself the question, "Is this making money?". Graham said the 1% aren't given to wasting their time on social media. Time is an important non-repeatable asset. http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Graham-Arrowsmith-Make-Maximum-Money.mp4 Kevin referenced the most recent John Lamerton podcast. He made the point about social media being transient. Graham spoke about Dan Kennedy's stage speaking. Kennedy extracted maximum money from his speaking: negotiate a higher percentage processed his own orders he'd sell at higher prices than other he provided order forms that sold his services follow up letters to non-buyers he also used dead time productively - meeting someone-else on the trip. The value of a business rises with continuous or continuity income. Plus, increase the customer lifespan. These two strategies are about creating equity. So, how do you find these ideas? Violate industry norms Appeal to malcontents be a true leader and not just an alternative. Be choosy about which objectives you pursue in the next 100 days. http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Graham-Arrowsmith-Control-Your-Time.mp4 There is logic in controlling access to you. We discuss the OFF THE GRID app with Patrice Archer. This is all about controlling your effort to control time. INFLUENCER MARKETING - Following a Parasite Strategy http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Graham-Arrowsmith-Be-a-Parasite.mp4 This is all about using OTHER PEOPLE"S RELATIONSHIPS. #5 ACCURATE THINKING Knowing facts you may not want to know. Gather empirical evidence. Graham mentioned previous guest Daniel Burstein from Meclabs. They are all about empirical evidence. #6 CREATE A COMPETITION FREE ZONE Kevin suggested we skip this and refer people to our podcast Episode 295 on this. SECRET #7 INVENT LESS, IMPLEMENT MORE People really like creating rather implementing. Is your CV just like this? http://thenext100days.

Do you feel free with your life, or are you in pursuit of freedom only you understand? Have you ever thought about what attaining freedom really means? Freedom means different things to different people. Like other complex concepts, there's no one way to define freedom. However, there are foundations of freedom that can guide us toward living a free life in the bigger picture. In this episode, Tim discusses seven foundations of freedom. He talks about how others define the concept and its “ultimate” form in the spiritual sense. Finally, Tim shares the story of the 100-year-old Guinness World Record holder for working at one company for 84 years. If you'd like to learn how to work on your life's seven foundations of freedom, tune in to this episode! 3 Reasons to Listen: Reflect and understand your definition of freedom. They're not in order nor definitive. What inspired the topic was a story Tim read in his newsletter. It's about the person who set a world record for having worked in one job for the longest period. [02:54] Seek, Go, Create Audience's Definition of FreedomTim turned to the podcast audience's definition of freedom. Some say that freedom is never free, life-changing, something you fight for, and only achieved in peace. Some also brought up the different types of freedom, i.e., spiritual and worldly. Others say it is another word for “nothing left to lose,” “found in Jesus,” “having choices,” and “elusive in this world.” [10:49] Freedom and Independence DayWe often associate the word with Independence Day. The events during the holiday are related to the word in many ways. But there are various layers to freedom, including spiritual, physical, financial, and political. [12:53] #1: Freedom is Not Specific to a Country, Politics, or Geographic LocationThis sentiment is near to Tim's heart because he and his wife do not have a geographic-specific location. The USA doesn't own the concept of freedom. There is freedom in other parts of the world. Many people feel limited in life because they believe their children must attend school in one geographic area. Homeschooling showed Tim that this is not the case. There's a certain degree of freedom in not believing that you have to live in one place. Political structures, in reality, are all about limiting a lot of freedom. No political party is “freer” than the other. Freedom has to do with the ability to control our world and life. Other people's opinions significantly impact the elements explored in the first foundation. The other side of the coin is allowing those opinions to control us. Social media has a huge role to play in this. It allows both positive and negative comments to impact what we think about ourselves. [18:51] “Freedom is not impacted by other people's opinions. In other words, we have the freedom to not allow what other people think about us to control us.” https://ctt.ec/O4_Wj (Click Here to Tweet This)[20:54] #3: Freedom from Emotional TurmoilWe often allow our emotions to control us. Relating to the second foundation, we allow what other people think of us to impact our...

Remember musical chairs? You remember right? Play the music and have the players walk around the perimeter of the chair circle. When the music stops, everyone must immediately sit in a chair. The one person left standing is out. Seems kind of silly to bring this up. However, what if life is a lot like musical chairs someone is left out. My guest today is Stacy Leicht. Stacy has been a teacher for 25 years. She has taught elementary, and middle grades, and now is currently working at UNC-Greensboro in the Elementary Education department as a lecturer and supervisor to the junior and senior teams. As a teacher, she became very aware of the many students who did not have a hunger for reading. It became her goal to build a desire in children to want to read. She realized, it began with her as a reader. The students needed to see that she loved reading too, or they would not find a love for reading. Stacy is here to remind each of us that there truly is "A Story In Every Seat" you better hurry up and press play because you don't want to be late for class.
