I attended the Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo's Indie Game Showcase this weekend to see lots of games made in the Southeast that may or may not come out soon - and I give a high level overview of them. Forza Horizon 5 was out to those who bought the Ultimate Edition, and it was worth every penny. EA says that NFT's are the future of gaming, but doesn't exactly explain how. Intel's new Alder Lake CPU's are designed in such a way that Denuvo DRM software believes that they are two separate computers. Then we talk to rob about Final Fantasy XIV's expansion delay.

He says stuff by H. Beam Piper, Space Viking, Cosmic Computer, John Varley, Citizen of the Galaxy. I comment that I appreciate that he has always kept the bar high -- high standards. Traveller never goes low. Never incorporates creepy, sexist, gross-out, lowbrown stuff, and that from getting the boxed set when I was a kid the game was uplifting and "made me feel smart." He says many people have told him the game changed their lives, and he appreciates that. Later in the talk, with regard to potential movies/TV, he reiterates his desire not to allow lowbrow lowest-common-denominator stuff (My words, not his) to be associated with Traveller. Talks about Zhodani core expeditions a bit. That's all I got, folks. It was a 2 hour talk, and really fun. I got a chance to really look at the new hardback Book 1. I have the PDF, and I found the PDF overwhelming. Looking at the book in person, I found it easier to understand. This isn't an official review, but it this looks really good, seems well-organized. Looking at it as a toolkit makes a lot of sense. He mentions that it will be $100 for the whole set - compared to $150 for the 3 D&D 5e books, so its a bargain! Oh, the art is pretty good in the books. Mark mentioned that he prefers descriptive art in his books so you can see what things look like, as opposed to "atmospheric" art. The loss refers to lost productivity due to apathy or lack of energy that lead to an inability to function at work or cope with daily life.Depression is the single largest contributor to years of living with disability. It is the top cause of disability in the world today. That&`&s according to Dr. Dan Chisholm from the World Health Organization.He said depression is 1.5 times more common among women than men.A further 250 million people suffer anxiety disorders, including phobias, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive behavior and post-traumatic stress disorder.Some 80 percent of those stricken with mental illness live in low-and middle-income countries. This is Special English.Constant stress has been linked to various physical and mental health problems including hypertension, heart disease and insomnia. According to new research, days filled with stress may also increase your risk of becoming overweight.The research was led by Sarah Jackson, a research associate at the Institute of Epidemiology and Health at the University College London. The research results were published in the journal Obesity.For the study, researchers from the university followed over 2,500 men and women aged 54 and older for around four years.The researchers took a sample of hair from each participant to measure the levels of cortisol, a hormone which is released into the bloodstream in times of stress. If a person is under constant stress, the level of cortisol will be much higher.Previous research measured the levels of cortisol in blood or saliva, but these levels can also be affected by other factors, making them unreliable for research.The researchers also collected data on participants&`& weight and compared cortisol levels in the sample to body weight. The results showed that participants with higher cortisol levels tended to have larger waist circumferences.The research concluded that these results provide consistent evidence that long-term stress is associated with higher levels of obesity.Based on the conclusion, Jackson suggested that people should look for better ways to manage stress. This weekend was AWESOME. I had the pleasure to go to SIEGE (Southern Interactive Entertainment & Game Expo) for the first time. For those of you who don't know what SIEGE is, let me give you an overview. It is a game development conference like GDC and Unite, but it is hosted just in Atlanta. Like other game dev conferences, it has talks about relevant topics in the industry, a Showroom where people can play local studio's games, and of course, it has a big party where you can meet other devs. In today's episode Zack and I tell Andrew our experiences in SIEGE 2016. In addition, we try a new episode format because we include some interviews that I made while I was there. The conference was extremely fun and helpful. I not only had the honor to talk to Rand Miller, but also was part of the portfolio review team, where I could help other fellow devs who recently graduated from school to find their path and prepare for future job interviews. It was certainly an unforgettable conference for me, but that was not the best part, my favorite moment was when I went to Zack's talk about version control.
