This is a major escalation that will very likely result in the situation becoming more tense over the next few days.-HomeFront- Massachusetts: This afternoon a suspicious death was reported at the home of a high-ranking MIT professor. Nuno Loureiro, the director of the Plasma Science and Fusion Center at MIT was found dead in his home in Brookline. He was found deceased, with several gunshot wounds being the preliminary cause of death.Analyst Comment: Due to the Brown University shooting, it's likely that increased scrutiny will be placed on crimes that occur at universities or within the sphere of higher education in general. So far, not enough information is known on this murder case to discern what happened here. This could be a more routine murder, or it could be something else entirely, there's no way to know at the moment.Washington D.C. - This afternoon the White House announced a revision to the previously-implemented travel restrictions from High-Risk nations. The update now includes a total travel ban on Palestinians entering the US, along with adding partial restrictions to most of the continent of Africa. Laos and Sierra Leone have also moved up from partial restrictions to full restrictions.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Mass stabbing attacks are rare in Russia, and this one was very disturbing even by western standards. The attacker recorded the attack by mounting his phone to his helmet, and took selfies with the victims after he stabbed them. Going by the textbook, the US might classify this individual under the new category of terrorist, the "NVE" or Nihilistic Violent Extremist. Московский трубач Виталий Головнев, выпускник Российской Академии им. Гнесиных, экс-солист биг-бэнда Игоря Бутмана, оркестров Лундстрема и Гараняна, выпустил альбом Горки. Это концерт записанный в августе 2023 года на фестивале Игоря Бутмана Джазовые сезоны в Ленинских горках. А так же рад, что кроме новых фестивалей и клубов в РФ появляются новые джазовые лейблы и специалисты продвижения этой замечательной музыки. Дополняет запись один джазовый стандарт Фредди Хаббарда Dear John, который построен на гармонии из легендарного трека и одноименного альбома Giant Steps Джона Колтрейна.Несмотря на импровизационную природу записи, альбом звучит целостно и концептуально. По словам Виталия, магия произошла сама собой - материал органично сложился в драматургически выстроенный и яркий живой альбом. Горки - это не только результат творческого эксперимента, но и задел на будущее: артист планирует развивать этот формат и в студийных проектах. Главное - найти себя, собственное звучание и почерк. In der zweiten Geschichte geht es um einen Wanderer, der während einer Tour durch den Wald in ein verlassenes Dorf stolpert. Da der Mann nicht aus der Gegend stammt, hat er von dem Schauermärchen, was sich die Einheimischen über das Dorf erzählen, jedoch noch nie etwas gehört und weiß nicht, auf was er sich während seines Besuch eingelassen hat.

V istú septembrovú noc roku 1989 v malom mestečku na dalmátskom pobreží zmizne dievča. Po sedemnásťročnej Silve akoby sa zľahla zem a policajné pátranie neprináša nijaké výsledky. Naposledy ju videli na miestnej rybárskej zábave, a hoci existuje viacero teórií a podozrivých, Silvin prípad zatienia politické a spoločenské udalosti v Chorvátsku – ekonomický kolaps, zmena režimu, vojna. Poslední, ktorí sa ešte nevzdali nádeje, sú jej najbližší a mladý vyšetrovateľ Gorki Šain poverený prípadom. Uplynie takmer tridsať rokov a Silva je stále nezvestná. "Gozo" de Azahara Alonso  (Siruela) ha sido elegida por el gremio de libreros como mejor libro de no ficción del año y este viernes 3 de mayo ha entrado con todos los honores en la Biblioteca de Antonio Martínez Asensio de Hoy por Hoy. Ya estaba en nuestras estanterías, de hecho fue el primer libro que archivó  nuestro bibliotecario  el pasado septiembre. "Gozo" es un ensayo incalificable a mitad de camino entre la crónica y  el diario. Cuenta en primera persona la historia de una joven que decide irse con su pareja a la isla de Gozo (Malta) para busca un sentido a la vida y para decidir que hacer con ella. En ese año de aislamiento reflexiona sobre el trabajo,  el tiempo libre, la pereza y la culpa por no hacer nada, el turismo o  la obsesión por fotografiarlo todo. Es un libro que nos pone ante el espejo de un mundo en el que hemos vendido todo nuestro tiempo. Además de la visita a la Biblioteca de Azahara Alonso, Antonio Martínez Asensio como homenaje al 1  y al 2 de mayo nos ha traído tres libros: "Diario de peón"  de Thierry Metz (Periférica), Emilio Zola "Germinal" (Alianza) y "El 19 de marzo y el 2 de mayo" de Benito Pérez Galdós (Alianza). Azahara Alonso nos donó tres libros: "Matar a Platón" de Chantal Maillard (Tusquets), "La invención de Morel" de Adolfo Bioy Casares (Alfaguara) y  "Tractatus" de Ludwig Wittgenstein ( Cátedra) . El empleado Pepe Rubio nos trajo novedades: "La estrella más hermosa" de Yukio Mishina (Alianza) y "La ciudad y sus muros inciertos"  de Haruki Murakami (Tusquets). El libro perdido rescatado por Pascual Donate "La fuente de la fama:un paseo por el Madrid del Barrio de las Letras" de José María Goicoechea y Antonio Tiedra (Cordelia) . También entró entró en nuestros anaqueles un ejemplas de "Un libro una hora", en este caso "El principito" de Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Y los último en donar a nuestra biblioteca, los que llamaron primero, los oyentes que dejaron en las estanterías "La madre" de Máximo Gorki (Cátedra) , "Decidme cómo es un árbol" de Marcos Ana (Umbriel) y "el tiempo que nos une" de Alejandro Palomas (Matriarca)

Von mehreren Schlaganfällen gezeichnet lebte Lenin 1924 in Gorki und kommunizierte mit der Führung der KPdSU per Brief, da er kaum noch sprechen konnte. Auch wir haben hier im Podcast dokumentiert, dass er von der europäischen Presse von Zeit zu Zeit verfrüht für tot erklärt wurde. Doch am 21. Januar 1924 verstarb er tatsächlich, wahrscheinlich an einem weiteren Schlaganfall. Die Berliner Zeitungen bringen dieses Ereignis, das mit der Frage nach seiner Nachfolge verknüpft war, am 23. Januar, und zitieren bereits, so auch die Berliner Volks-Zeitung des Tages, die Kommuniques der Sowjet-Regierung und der Kommunistischen Internationale. Noch bevor die riesigen Trauerfeierlichkeiten, die in einem ersten provisorischen Mausoleum den einbalsamierten Lenin ausstellten, stattfanden, begann bereits die Debatte nach der Bedeutung Lenins und seinem Erbe. Se la Rivoluzione bolscevica è – come alcuni l'hanno definita – l'evento politico più significativo del XX secolo, allora Lenin deve essere considerato, bene o male, il leader politico più significativo del secolo.
