Ondersteuners voer aan dat dit Namibië se vastrapplek in die bedryf kan versterk. Kritici waarsku egter dat die sukkelende diamantmark die onderneming riskant kan maak. Kennedy Hamutenya, die voormalige hoof van die staat se diamantbemarkings- en verkoopsmaatskappy, Namdia, sê die sleutel lê in hoe die belegging gestruktureer en bestuur word.

Die Regeringsinstellings Pensioenfonds het die opening van die Goreangab-winkelsentrum van 300 miljoen Namibiese dollar verwelkom en dit beskryf as 'n tasbare uitkoms van sy beleggingstrategie. Die winkelsentrum is ontwikkel deur 'n vennootskap tussen Oryx Properties en Safland Property Group, beide ontvangers van beduidende fonds-gesteunde beleggingsmandate wat daarop gemik is om Namibië se kommersiële eiendomssektor uit te brei en ekonomiese groei te bevorder. Waar het evenement in de jaren ‘70 begon als regionale aangelegenheid, is het inmiddels een volwaardig festival met christelijke rock, hiphop en zelfs moshpits. Een begrip in christelijk Nederland, maar ook daarbuiten.    Religiewetenschapper en antropoloog Miranda Klaver deed onderzoek naar hoe de Jongerendag door de jaren heen is veranderd.  (36:02) Afgelopen woensdag overleed de Iraans-Franse Marjane Satrapi op 56-jarige leeftijd. Met de nadruk op Noord – want die naam wijst er natuurlijk op dat er ook een veelgroter, zuidelijker deel van Brabant bestaat, in België.    Ooit vormde het samen één groot Hertogdom, maar door de verdeling over Nederland en België zijn de Brabanten aan beide zijden toch een beetje ondergeschoven kindjes geworden.    En bij onze zuiderburen nog erger dan bij ons, vindt VRT-Journalist Luc Pauwels. Hij besloot daarom een Brabants-nationalistische geschiedenis te schrijven, en dat werd het boek Het verhaal van Brabant.      (01:11:48) OVT Doc: Het probleem de wereld in, de begintijd van 'Blijf van m'n Lijf'    Het was schokkend nieuws deze week: Vier mannen zijn aangehouden in een groot onderzoek naar het drogeren en seksueel misbruiken van vrouwen.    Reden voor ons om de documentaire te herhalen die Christianne Alvarado maakte over de begintijd van de ‘Blijf van m'n lijfhuizen.' De opvanghuizen voor mishandelde vrouwen ontstonden in een tijd waarin geweld tegen vrouwen absoluut niet serieus werd genomen, zelfs niet door hulpverleners. The county remains a major producer of avocados, citrus, nursery crops, floriculture products, and specialty crops, supporting thousands of jobs and contributing significantly to the local economy. “The public has this image of farming that's often large industrial-scale farms,” Groot said. “San Diego County, we're family-owned farms, specialty crops, and sell a lot of what we grow here locally.” One of the biggest concerns discussed during the interview was the increasing cost of doing business in California. Groot noted that farmers must compete against imported products that are often grown under very different labor, environmental, and pesticide regulations. “The consequence will certainly be imported foods,” Groot explained, warning that California growers continue to face higher production costs than many foreign competitors. Labor remains another significant challenge. According to Groot, San Diego County growers struggle to attract workers due to high housing costs and long commute distances between urban residential areas and rural farming communities. “The issue in our county is really the available housing tends to be in the more urban locations, and the farms tend to be in the more rural locations,” Groot said. The discussion also highlighted the importance of San Diego County's nursery and floriculture sector. California leads the nation in nursery production, and San Diego County remains the top county in the country for nursery and floriculture products. However, industry consolidation has changed the landscape over the past several decades, leaving fewer independent retailers and more reliance on large chain stores. Pest and disease management continues to be another concern for growers. Groot discussed ongoing efforts to protect citrus production from the Asian citrus psyllid and Huanglongbing disease, while also noting increasing challenges from invasive pests and plant diseases impacting ornamental crops and strawberries. Despite these challenges, San Diego agriculture continues to benefit from one of the most favorable growing climates in the country. The region's mild weather allows growers to produce crops year-round, providing a unique advantage compared to many other agricultural regions. Groot also emphasized the importance of public education and outreach, encouraging consumers and policymakers to learn more about farming and understand the role agriculture plays in food security, economic development, and environmental stewardship. “We all stand a better chance of thriving,” Groot said, “if we all work together.” The interview underscored a common theme heard throughout California agriculture: farmers continue adapting to rising costs, labor shortages, water concerns, and increasing regulations while working to maintain local food production and support rural communities.

Back as Bruce, He warns Doctor Stephen Strange and Wong that Thanos is coming.  Tony Stark joins the conversation. Before he can call Steve Rogers to get the band back together, they attack the city to claim the Time Stone from Strange. Spider-Man is pulled into the chaos, and after they captures Strange aboard his spaceship, Stark and Peter Parker secretly hitch a ride into space to rescue him while Wong remains behind to defend the Sanctum. Meanwhile, the Guardians of the Galaxy answer a distress signal and save Thor floating in space. They agree they need to work together to stop Thanos. But they're too late. Thanos already possesses the Reality Stone and uses its power to manipulate everything around them. He captures Gamora after learning she knows the location of the Soul Stone. Desperate to save her adopted sister Nebula from torture, Gamora tells him where the stone is .  When they get there, the keeper of the Soul Stone, one Red Skull, reveals the price required to obtain it: the sacrifice of someone truly loved. In one of the film's most tragic moments, Thanos throws Gamora to her death, earning the Soul Stone. Vision and Wanda are ambushed in Scotland by Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive, who attempt to rip the Mind Stone from Vision's forehead. He explains why he wasn't around but says he wants to be the father he always hoped to be now.  Meanwhile, blue whistle boy Yondu is hired to track them down. Things go sideways FAST when Yondu refuses not to give up Quill location. He ends up being imprisoned with Rocket and Groot, but they escape with some wild arrow work. Back on Planet Daddy Issues, Ego reveals he's basically a god who's been planting himself all over the universe (red flag), having kids everywhere (bigger red flag), and murdering them when they don't have powers (biggest red flag).  Oh, and he casually admits he gave Quill's mom a brain tumor. Cool cool cool. Quill snaps, the team reunites, and it becomes a full-on “let's destroy dad” situation. They head to Ego's literal brain at the planet's core, plant a bomb. The bomb goes off, Ego is toast, and Quill loses his powers in the process. But the emotional gut punch? Yondu sacrifices himself to save Quill, proving he was his real dad all along. we cry. You cry. Everyone cries.  the Ravagers show up to give Yondu the send-off he deserved all along. And we get a thousand mid credit scenes and none of them matter.
