I am excited to have Leo Tonkin joining us today. Leo is a passionate advocate for Halotherapy. He believes the respiratory system is the key to longevity and quality of life because those who cannot breathe properly cannot live well. Even though we take around 20,000 breaths daily, we often take our breath for granted. Unfortunately, our respiratory system degenerates as we age, and the air quality around us keeps deteriorating. So if we fail to care for our lungs, we can lose the ability to sleep, work, and live well, and that's where Halotherapy, or salt therapy, can help us. Benefits of Salt Therapy: Clears mucus and reduces inflammation in the airways It is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal Eases symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, COPD, and allergies Helps prevent and relieve colds, flu, and sinus infections Strengthens immune function, increases lung capacity, and improves breathing Promotes deep and restful sleep Safe for pets and people of all ages Leo Tonkin's Bio: Leo Tonkin has been a pioneer in many industries, and in 2012, he revolutionized the salt therapy industry with his innovative approach and tireless dedication to transforming the way people think about their skin, respiratory, and mental wellness. With a deep understanding of the science behind salt therapy and its benefits, Leo started SALT Chamber, the world's leading salt therapy design, equipment, and decor company. Over a decade ago, he created a global industry for providing a safe, drug-free, evidence-based modality that is ‘hacking' into our respiratory and skin systems to enhance performance and recovery while improving quality of life. In 2014, Leo was the Founding Chairman of the Salt Therapy Association, which now has over 3600+ members in 62 countries. Understanding that air quality and climate change are major contributors to our well-being, he launched the Respiratory Wellness Initiative for the Global Wellness Institute. He has a passion for making a difference in every breath we take, especially since being a Stage 4 cancer survivor. He lives in Delray Beach Florida, with his wife Lori. He has 4 grandchildren. Today, we're going to take a look at how salt can effectively get rid of bacteria, fungi, yeast, and mold in the body. Salt causes water to move out of the cell, eliminating these pathogens through dehydration. Salt thins mucus with this same mechanism. Salt removes water from the mucus, making it thinner so that it can be more easily expelled from the body. To eliminate mucus using salt, dissolve a teaspoon of sea salt (not table salt) in a glass of water. Drink or gargle the salt water. This exposes the mouth and throat to salt, which helps to get rid of mucus, improves immunity, and strengthens the autonomic nervous system. You can also use diluted apple cider vinegar. This changes the pH and helps kill microbes. A Neti pot uses nasal irrigation to gently send a stream of diluted salt water through your sinuses, helping to thin the mucus. If you have a constant post-nasal drip, you may have a fungal infection or mold issue going on in your sinuses, and cutting sugar from your diet may help. You can also use a humidifier with a saltwater solution while you sleep. A humidifier turns liquid into vapor, allowing you to inhale the salt water. Halotherapy, or salt therapy, can also be beneficial. If none of these remedies seem to be working, an ear infection could be the source of your mucus. In this case, try putting four to five drops of saltwater directly into each ear. You can try the same thing with diluted apple cider vinegar or use one drop of garlic oil in each ear. Vitamin D supports your immune system and helps prevent mucus. Vitamin D deficiencies are associated with enlarged tonsils, sinus allergies, sinus mucus, and ear infections. Try taking 20,000 to 50,000 IU of vitamin D once per week to address mucus. I LOVE exploring different healing modalities and this is one I stumbled upon at a water park of all places! Halotherapy is a therapy that uses salt (in most cases, Himalayan salt) and something called a halogenerator that puts tiny, almost microscopic pieces of salt into the air to breathe. When you breath it in, the trace minerals that are found in the salt can help heal your body of a variety of ailments. Since I'm far from an expert on the topic, I brought in Jess Oltman, owner of "The Cedar House," a new healing center that's opening up in the Cedar Falls, IA area. Jess is a wealth of knowledge on this topic and does a great job of covering the ins & outs of halotherapy. Here's what we cover in this episode:How does halo therapy work? What are the benefits to halo therapy? What conditions can halo therapy help with? What does a typical session look like?To learn more about The Cedar House, visit: https://www.thecedarhouse.us/To learn more about Mindy CLICK HERE

Today's guest is a former civil engineer who is now bringing a new kind of wellness solution to everyone. She is the owner of Koru Wellness Ltd, Executive Director of World Halotherapy Association, founder of UK Halotherapy Network, Erin Lee. In the beginning of our talk, as I'm really curious with her career transition, I ask Erin how she switched to doing halotherapy from structuring buildings and residential properties. And her story tells how her new life makes her more grateful and pursue the halotherapy solutions. Prior to halotherapy, Erin does install saunas in different homes to bring wellness. As time passed by, an idea popped up in her mind to upgrade the wellness solution. I can tell this new idea was a success since she experienced the life changing result after trying it out on her own. There's a bunch of benefits that Erin mentioned to me about halotherapy and if you want to try it, she offers a special discount to anyone who uses the code "SA101" on all of their products here https://halotherapysolutions.com/halotherapy-infrared/ Register to learn more about halotherapy here: https://worldhalotherapy.com/world-halotherapy-conference/ Contact Erin at erin@halotherapysolutions.com

We discuss EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Celia's Replenish Healing Retreats. Feeling ill with a cold or cough and looking for a natural way to speed healing? Try Halotherapy also known as a Himalayan Salt Room. You'll most likely change from your street clothes into a robe and barefoot you'll enter a salt room for 40-60 minutes. You can lay on the ground on a bed of salt or sit in a chair with your feet in the coarse salt while inhaling micro-particles of salt. Those micro-particles will enter your body and cleanse the upper respiratory tract. You might notice you cough a little more after your session but that is your body cleaning out your mucus or infection. Obviously if you are very ill or with a fever you'll need to wait so you don't infect others and you'll want to see your doctor to make sure it is not something more serious.
After suffering from Crohn's Disease as a child, Amber set out to empower her kids to take charge of their health in order to feel their best. As a mother of 2, Salthaus was born due to a lack of places to engage in wellness together with her family. Amber discovered Halotherapy and wanted to share her mission ‘wellness together' with the world by redefining wellness, making it social, fun and available to all ages. During our conversation we discuss how when looking for a creative outlet she found her idea, and it was as if striking a water pipe with a pick - it never stopped flowing. We also talk about the importance of believing and following signs and omens when they present themselves to you, and how we should include children in the wellness conversation, in order to teach them how to create healthy rituals beginning at a young age. This conversation inspired me to seek more creativity in my personal life, it doesn't only belong to to artist or people in creative arenas - you can be creative in simply planning your day. For me this translates into being more creative in how I spend time with friends and participating in new activities which do not involve drinking - Salthaus anyone? New wellness spas are popping up all over the place. Have you tried any treatments like Cryotherapy, Halotherapy, Floatation Pods, or Red Light Therapy? Listen in for my take on these new trends and what works for me.
We talked about this therapy last week, Halotherapy is an excellent therapy for the treatment of any sort of upper respiratory aggravation, especially allergies. In a Halotherapy room, a salt vaporizer pumps dry aerosol salt vapor into the air, so you can breathe it a bit deeper into your lungs. This process supports and strengthens the body's immune system by eliminating toxins and allergens that are trapped within the mucus lining of the respiratory system. Listen in for more on my experience with Halotherapy. For more info check out: http://bit.ly/2NcMjOV
The term “Halotherapy” comes from “halo”, the Greek word for salt. Simply put, Halotherapy is the use of salt vapor to treat respiratory ailments, skin irritations, and combat mental lethargy. For centuries, monks used naturally-occurring salt caverns to treat respiratory ailments. Today, manmade Saltrooms recreate salt caverns, with one huge improvement over nature: in a Halotherapy room, a salt vaporizer pumps dry aerosol salt vapor into the air, so you can breathe it deep into your lungs. Listen in to hear my experience with Halotherapy. For more check out: http://bit.ly/2NcMjOV
Halotherapy also known as salt therapy are microparticles of salt blown into the air . People with upper respiratory conditions or asthma feel most relief from a session.
If you have been struggling this week to really relax and sink into meditation or mindfulness looking into Halotherapy. Halotherapy addresses a wide range of needs, from skin and breathing disorders to stress management and relaxation. the antibacterial and antimicrobial qualities of the salt create a pure, salt-infused balm in the air, while the negative ions induce a positive reaction in the body's nervous and lymphatic systems. During your visit, you remain dressed (minus your shoes) while pure medical grade salt is infused into the air. Sometimes music is played other times its quiet. But it is the perfect place to go, to sit and relax and quiet the mind. Give it a try. Google "salt cave" along with your zip code and see if there is one near you. If not, slip into a hot epsom salt bath for a similar effect. My favorite local haunt: https://www.saulthaus.com/
