    Nutrition for the Skin

    Taking care of your skin is not just about using the right beauty products. It's about making sure your detox pathway are open and the liver is strong enough to detox properly so the skin doesn't have to.  The skin is the largest detox organ the body has.  If you have any skin issue: acne, itchiness, rosacea, psoriasis, hives, eczema, etc. know that it is due to the body having trouble detoxing something.  To figure out what that something is we muscle test to get the biofeedback from the body.  We can identify 42 different heavy metals and 41 heavy chemicals that could be stuck in your body causing your skin issue.  Healing the skin is an inside out job.  On the inside, if any toxin is not properly detoxed by finding it's way to the liver and then broken down and moved to the intestine to be excreted then the body will push it out through the skin as another way of getting rid of the toxins.     The Three Phases of Weight Loss

    Weight loss can be a tricky thing for a lot of people because it is hormonal based.  If you want to lose weight there are 3 phases to doing it in a healthy way. The first phase is the transition to restore metabolism. Once that is established then the second phase is when the body starts losing weight. The third and final step is to maintain optimal health and keep the weight off. Dr. Armitstead explains in this podcast how your hormones will change in response to the nutrition and lifestyle changes that you'll make. Your body will also rebuild at the cellular level with nutrients that were not available during previous poor habits. The more damaged the current metabolism, the longer it will take for this process to be complete.     How to Get Healthy Post COVID

    Unfortunately with Omicron Dr. Armitstead has now seen enough post-COVID patients from various strains to create this podcast.  Good news is if you have gotten COVID and still feel off in any way she has some health tips to help you feel like your old self again.  Post COVID or long haul COVID are the terms used when symptoms or signs persist for more than two weeks after COVID-19 onset.  Dr. Armitstead explains that symptoms can continue for months after and include fatigue, headaches, poor focus or attention, shortness of breath, and so much more.  Symptoms after having COVID-19 continue after the initial infection because the SARS-CoV-2 virus goes into the body causing more inflammation than the average virus.  The number one place that inflammation hits is the air ways and lungs because that's how it gets into the body. Because other doctors aren't trained to look for parasites and medical testing isn't thorough Dr. Armitstead by default treats lots of people with parasite infections in her office. If you are having trouble sleeping, fatigue, or mood swings it might be due to parasites. If you are having trouble with your bowel movements or bloating it could be parasites. When you go to your MD these types of complaints are considered manageable and if treated, they are treated usually with over-the-counter medication to only get symptom relief without addressing the real issue. Dr. Oz says that 90% of Americans will have a parasite problem at some point in their lifetime. I tend to agree.
