Scripture:  Exodus 20:15, Joshua 6-7, James 1:17, Ephesians 4:28, Leviticus 9:13, 1 Timothy 6:17-18, 1 Peter 2:12, Philippians 2:4, Philippians 3:20, Ephesians 2:8-10 This command is simple words, but words with great depth. What does “stealing” cover? It's the taking of what's not ours. Pastor shares a biblical demonstration from the story of the Israelites of the consequences of taking what is not ours and what the Lord has said not to take. There are consequences to disobeying God's clear will and He has established moral law that's be given to us for a purpose - It's for the protection of society and for everyone. You Shall Not Steal     ⁃    Ownership - there is personal ownership but this is not absolute ownership, because everything we have comes from God. God is the giver of all good gifts.     ⁃    Stewardship - take care of what we have - use wisely what God has given us, and bless others with what we have.     ⁃    Citizenship - Be a good citizen - we are part of a culture and called to be a blessing. The way we behave: integrity and honor can be seen by others and can bring them to knowing Jesus and the way we behave brings glory to God. We are called to look out for not only our own interests but also those of others. Our citizenship is in heaven and so we live that way. Citizens of this world but above all we are citizens of heaven through Jesus and what He has done for us and THAT calls us to live like we know that! TWIN DANGERS     ⁃    Legalism - thinking we've done so much better than others. Legalism destroys faith, destroys relationship with God and becomes the worship of self rather than worship of God.     ⁃    Antinomianism - is the thinking that since Jesus died for me and paid for my sins, I can do whatever I like. That is not true and is a complete misunderstanding of what the Bible says. It doesn't say sin doesn't matter! Jesus DID die, DID pay for our sins, DID rise from the grave, IS returning AND BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THAT - we don't want to do what we please.  We want to do what pleases Him! When God gave the Ten Commandments - He did not say, “Do these (Ten Commandments) to be save.” He began these commands by saying, “I am the Lord your God who brought you out of bondage. I am the One who saves you. THEREFORE - now live this way: The Ten Commandments.” Ephesians 2:8-10: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. So by faith we give thanks for Jesus and we desire to live lives that give God glory and bless others. Now What? Learn about God at  https://www.awakeusnow.com EVERYTHING we offer is FREE. As a Jesus Follower, Do You Forgive Others Before They Forgive You, Just as Jesus Did for You on the Cross? MESSAGE SUMMARY: We modern-day Christians are bad about living in our bitterness towards others whom we believe have “wronged us”. However, in Luke 23:33-34, Jesus set the example and His expectations for the “forgiveness of others” when He sacrificed Himself on cross for us: “And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.' And they cast lots to divide his garments.". We are great at putting on our Christian face for the public. On the other hand, we have someone in our lives, when even their name is mentioned, we become hateful and bitter towards this person in our actions and words. Jesus modeled what we are to do from the cross -- we are to forgive the person that elicits this kind of bitter response in our lives. We need to release this person and then get on with our lives. As Jesus said: “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, help me to grab hold of you today. I need you. Set me free to begin reorienting my life around you, and you alone. Help me to pay attention to and honor how you have uniquely made me. Thank you for the gift of rest. In Jesus' name, amen.       Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 122). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. If our money could talk to us, what would it say? Maybe more amazing is the parallel between what our money might say and what Jesus DID say. Jesus viewed our wealth as a tool, a means not the end. If being a means to an end gives life meaning, to what ends do we want our lives to be a means?

Luke 8 contains a number of miracles. These demonstrate Jesus' authority and power over nature, demons, sickness, and death. But can we believe that Jesus DID these things? Are there other explanations? Are these stories just the observations of ancient people who saw "god(s)" in anything and everything? In this message we look at the issue of miracles and why we doubt them.

I've been pondering this question for quite some time now and I always come to the same conclusion. As I run through who Jesus was, the life He led, His attributes and characteristics, I want you to think about the fact that Jesus DID live, He DID suffer for us, and He WAS buried. But is that what makes Christianity so special and unique? What is about the third day that is so pivotal and foundational to our faith? Join me as I talk about these things as we near the celebration of the most important aspect of our faith. It is the bedrock of why we hope the way we do, why we believe the way we do, why we spend time studying the Bible and longing for His return! Do you know someone who has a disability? Through researching for this episode I learned some staggering statistics. 1 in 4 adults are affected by a disability. 1 in 5 children have learning or attention issues. That means the chances that you have or will have someone walk into your church with a disability is very very likely. Jesus DID not say “Let the little children come to me, except those that are crippled” He welcomed all into his arms. Are we as a church providing space for those with special needs?  In today's conversation with Joanna French we learn some practical ways we can embrace our disabled friends in ministry. There is something we can all do regardless of our church size.    Joanna French Pastor Joanna French is the Special Needs Pastor at Flint Hills Church in Junction City, Ks. Seven years ago she founded their special needs ministry, Embrace. Since then Joanna has spoken nationally on the subject of Disability Ministry nationally, written two books, and shares her wisdom for the national ministry Key Ministry. Joanna seeks to help other churches make the gospel accessible to everyone.   Statistics 1 in 4 adults have some type of disability. (61 Million People with Disabilities in the United States (abilitymagazine.com) 1 in 5 children have learning and attention issues. (The State of Learning Disabilities Today – Learning Disabilities Association of America (ldaamerica.org) This means if you are not directly affected, most likely you know someone who is. Do you have any of these people attending your church? How are you accommodating them? Can we do better?   Can you imagine being told you are welcome to come back to church but please find a sitter for your kids next time?    What can the Average Church Do to Embrace those with disabilities and mental illness? What to include: use a cheap backpack  Noise canceling headphones Fidgets Communication cards Visual schedule   Create a Sensory Safe Room (could use a closet) What to include: Bean bag chair Noise canceling headphones Pillows Puzzles Fidgets   Advanced Steps: Provide sensory safe space when offering community events Host Respite Nights Host Siblings Day (event for siblings of disabled)   How can Implementing this Type of Ministry help Prepare us for Revival? Revival requires empathy.  In the recent move, “Jesus Revolution”, we see that revival started by meeting people right where they were at, without judging them for their actions. They simply offered them the love of Jesus. Proverbs 27:17 says “Iron sharpens Iron, and one man sharpens another..” These special friends will sharpen us as we get to know each other. They will change us. They will make us more compassionate, more accepting, and more thankful. They will teach us to worship uninhibited. They show us what true worship looks like. It helps us love people in a revolutionary way and that is key in preparing for revival.   How to start an “Embrace Ministry”? Talk to the disabled and their family members - they will have necessary input for you to create a good disability ministry. Ask their opinions and what they need.  Do the three things listed above and don't despise small beginnings. Even if it is for one person or one child.  Offer support for anyone. You may have people who are not “diagnosed” with a disability but need additional support. Have the buddy bags and alternate spaces available to anyone.   Prayer: Make sure you listen till the end for Joanna's beautiful prayer at the end of our time together.    Scripture References: “The servant came back and reported this to his master. What do Snakes, Adam & Eve, and a guy named Nicodemus all have to do with each other? Tune in to learn! Jump in with us in Sections 24 of the Gospel Harmonies @ https://www.harmonychurch.cc/tracking-jesus-timeline/. IT'S EASY TO GIVE at Harmony, text any amount to (859) 459-0316 to get started (or give online @ my.harmonychurch.cc/give ). OPENING ILLUSTRATION: Time for me to expose a secret about my wife… She LOVES the tv show survivor, I mean like crazy loves it. If I try to make fun of it, I'm sleeping on the couch loves it… Ha. One of the staples of the show survivor is Jeff Probst comes on at the beginning of the episode and says, “previously on survivor!” and then they recap what's happened up until that point. Today, we are going to look at one of the most well-known passages of scripture in the bible. b But before we do, I've got to recap a few stories for you so we can see something you may have never seen before. Is everyone ok with that? So, “Previously in the bible!” Two stories: Story One: Adam & Eve First, Adam & Eve, my guess is most of you are at least familiar with this story, right - you may not believe it's actually true, but you're familiar with it. Even if you don't believe it actually happened, which I do, you have to at the least admit it is the story of humanity in a nutshell… Adam & Eve are the first created humans in all of history. They are formed from the dust of the ground, God breathes life into them. They live in union with God until one day the serpent comes to them and tempts them to eat from the one tree in the Garden that God had told them not to eat from… Does this sound familiar? You know the story right? In Genesis 3, they eat, realize they are naked, and sew fig leaves to cover themselves. Then God comes walking into the Garden and they hide from Him. God asks them why they are hiding and Adam lies, he says, “Because we were naked”, but they weren't naked anymore They are hiding because they can't bear to be exposed… either physically or spiritually… Ok, Keep story one in your back pocket Story Two: Snake Bites In Numbers 21 there is a story about the Israelites after they have left Egypt, this is Moses leading them out into the desert, this is 1,600ish years before Jesus. A long time ago…. The people are wandering around in the desert, they had followed Moses out of Egypt thinking they were getting freedom, which they did, but it wasn't what they thought. They were thirsty and hungry and had enemies on all sides and they had to trust God. They are in the middle of the desert, and they get mad at God, they get mad at Moses and they start to complain and grumble. This kind of cracks me up, God sends poisonous snakes among these people… I know it's serious, but I know this is how people are. God is taking care of them, He's providing food and water, He's freed them from slavery and given Himself to them and it's not enough. So, He lets snakes start to come after them…. The people come to Moses and confess that they sinned and they ask him to pray that God will take away the snakes. Moses prays. God tells him to make a serpent out of bronze and put it on a pole so that anytime anyone looks at the bronze serpent after being bit, they will be healed. So, now we've got story one and story two, but what do they have to do with Today? “Kent, have you gone off your rocker?” Let me tie these together in Section 24 of the Harmony of the Gospels Last week we talked about Nic coming to Jesus at night, Jesus told him to be born again he had to be born of water and the Spirit. We are picking up at the end of that discussion, check it out… John 3:9-21 9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. 10 “You are Israel's teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? ILLUSTRATION: Have you ever tried to explain something to a teenager that they think they already know everything about? I was the most arrogant teen in the world and thought I knew everything - if I already knew it, you weren't going to teach me anything… It's hard to see things you aren't looking for… b Nic can't see it and doesn't understand it because it doesn't fit in the way he understands God. I think, can't prove it, but I think this is why Jesus started with fisherman instead of scholars - because Nicodemus already has a way of thinking about God and he can't see any other way… Jesus is about to blow Nic up! Check this out… 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[a] ILLUSTRATION: When I was in High school I had a nickname, queso - yup, I went by “cheese” - someday I'll tell you that story. But, there are certain people in my life who will still call me queso - they know what it means and there are others that when they hear that name, know exactly who is being talked about. I'm not going into it today - but when Jesus calls Himself “The Son of Man” He is specifically using a title in Daniel 7 that refers to one who would come in the clouds.. You need to know that Nicodemus would have understood Jesus to be referring to Himself as the Messiah in Daniel 7 - The Son of Man. Man, this is so chocked full - this passage, but we need to get to the meat of it… Jesus continues… 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[b] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[c] Did you hear it? Story Two - Jesus is saying He will be lifted up and everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. B Jesus is unabashedly dividing all of humanity into those who believe and those who don't. Those who have eternal life and those who don't… b Just as the serpent on the pole healed the Israelites of the snake bite in the desert, Jesus heals us of the snake bite given in the Garden of Eden - the sin we all live in. And then He says this - you need to know, some bibles don't put quotes around this, but I think it's Jesus' words… Listen this is the passage you've heard your whole life… Out of the motif of the snake bite - Jesus says this 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. Jesus DID come to separate - but He's not the one doing the separating, we decide for ourselves if we will stand condemned or not. So, what about Story One Kent? Listen to how Jesus ends this whole thing… 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. CLOSING ILLUSTRATION: One of the things I've learned about myself is that I hate more than anything being exposed. I used to not think this was true about me. I actually held a value that as long as I told you the truth about myself that I could do anything I wanted. But that wasn't quite the truth. I was willing to own up to the terrible things I did, but couldn't face the consequences of them… I have a feeling we are all like this, it's a born trait. It's why we all understand Adam and Eve and their hiding from God in the Garden. Because we know what it's like to be exposed and to want to hide. Jesus says it is this trait inside of us all, this desire to hide from the light that keeps us in the dark. What is it that is keeping you in the dark? What are you afraid of exposing? God already knows it, guess what, it is already going to be exposed, the question is whether you will come to the one who can heal you of it and free you from it. He is the serpent on the pole. He was lifted up on the cross to free you from the poison of sin in your life. You hiding from being exposed doesn't help anything. ILLUSTRATION: I tell my kids when I ask them a question that I already know the answer so be honest - which is true, I wouldn't know to ask the question if I didn't know the answer. God already knows, the question is whether you are going to be honest enough with yourself to admit just how bad the consequences of your life are and your need for a savior. He's waiting for you to come to Him for freedom and life!

Are you set apart FROM God or FOR God? For something to come to life, for sin to be eradicated, something innocent has to die. As a matter of fact, someone innocent -- Jesus -- DID die. He died for you! He died so that you would have life. And when Jesus died on the cross, his sacrifice was once and for all time. It was a pleasing aroma to God. Sin breaks the father's heart because sin breaks his children. You can come to Jesus just as you are, and when you come BOLDLY to the throne, he will change you from the inside out!

Jesus' love and power have no borders. And we, His disciples, are called to serve in God's power to every nation and tongue. As we study Matthew 15:21-39 and Mark 7:24-8:10, we will uncover the lessons that underlie Jesus' miracles of healing and provision to both the Jew and the Gentile. ******* Welcome to Walking in the Word, the biblical teaching arm of the Women World Leaders' podcast. My name is Julie Jenkins. I have the privilege of being the Teaching Leader for Women World Leaders. I've spent years studying the Bible – diving into God's Word, seeking to know Him better and to hear His voice more clearly. Shortly after I graduated from college I had a conversation with a friend, lamenting to her that I was feeling far from Jesus. Her advice was to spend time reading the Bible, to which I responded, I don't know how to read the Bible. That began my journey of attempting to quench my thirst for knowing Jesus…and after many classes, studies, and even a obtaining a masters degree in Biblical Exposition, I've come to the realization that the more I know Jesus, the more I want to know Him deeper. So I keep studying, and I keep growing. It is my honor and joy to share with you what I have learned along the way, and to keep learning even as I prepare these podcasts. I am thrilled you have come alongside me in this quest, and I hope you will join us on Saturday, June 4th from 9:30-12:30 et as we host our first Women World Leaders gathering since the onset of covid! This free event, appropriately titled Renew, will be held in South Florida, but will also be broadcast on Facebook Live. We will have teaching, worship, and will be blessed by DeAnn Alaine, a hysterical comedian, who you can learn more about at deannalaine.com (d e a n n a l a i n e .com). You can register for the event and find out more information on our website, womenworldleaders.com. And if you can't attend in person, find us on Facebook under the name Women World Leaders. On this, the Wednesday edition of the Women World Leaders podcast, we are currently walking through the gospels chronologically as we study the life of Jesus. Today, we will focus on Matthew 15:21-39 and Mark 7:24-8:10. Before we begin, let's pray. Dear Most Holy God, we come to you today seeking your presence and yearning to know you more. Guide our minds and our hearts as we study. We invite you to not only teach and bless us, but to convict and refine us. Sharpen our rough edges, help our unbelief, and heighten our understanding of who you are. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.   As we walk with Jesus, we learn from both His actions and His teaching to the crowds, His disciples, and individuals. This isn't different from what we have been studying, but what IS different in today's reading, is that Jesus has moved away from Jewish territory, and is ministering among the Gentiles, in their land. In fact, the people we encounter today have a reputation for being godless and controlled by a desire for wealth and power. The renown Jewish historian Josephus, called the people from this area ‘bitter enemies' of the Jews. And yet, Jesus led His disciples there, and by looking at Jesus in these unique surroundings, we realize that His love and power have no borders – that He indeed came for the salvation of all. In this passage, we see a trio of events unfold – the freeing of a Gentile girl from demon control, physical healing of Gentile individuals, and a miracle of provision as Jesus feeds well over 4000 Gentile people. Let's begin in Matthew, chapter 15, verse 21 from the New Living Translation. 21 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.” The Gentile woman approaches Jesus, full of faith in Jesus, whom she calls Lord, Son of David – clearly a tribute to the fact that He is the Jewish Messiah – far outside of her own race and her culture's beliefs. Strikingly, Verse 23 says… 23 But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word. Then his disciples urged him to send her away. “Tell her to go away,” they said. “She is bothering us with all her begging.” Maybe you've been there. I bet you can remember a time in your life when you sought out Jesus and cried out to Him – “Have mercy on me Lord, I need you.” And then you heard…nothing. Silence. It's tempting to think all sorts of things in those moments of silence – whether they be mere seconds or if they stretch into years. Is God there? Did He hear me? Does He care? Is God even real? But Jesus' silence didn't sway the Gentile woman… Finally, Jesus DOES reply…but it surely isn't what we would expect… “I was sent only to help God's lost sheep—the people of Israel.” Wow. Still, this faithful non-Jew doesn't give up, because she knows what Jesus can do. So she chose to worship Him. When we are at our lowest, and God seems silent, the best thing we can do is hold onto our faith, and worship God! Proclaim Him as our Lord out loud, letting the devil and the world know exactly where we stand and exactly who we belong to! Verse 25… 25 But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, “Lord, help me!” 26 Jesus responded, (again, NOT how we would expect) “It isn't right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” That's harsh! Was Jesus calling this woman a dog? The Jewish people DID call their Gentile neighbors dogs, in a very derogatory way. They considered them low-life, scroungers, wild, and unrefined. But for Jesus to say this? Upon looking at the structure of word usage in the original text, many theologians believe that Jesus was creatively playing off this customary derogatory name-calling. But, rather than use the word for mangy stray dog, as was the norm, Jesus used the word for beloved family pet. And the woman caught on, responding… “That's true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters' table.” A very funny aside: I was studying these particular verses this morning when my sweet puppy jumped up on me and curled up in my lap. As I pet my Marlo and thought about how much I loved him, I laughed at God's real-time illustration to me of this passage! Oh…how I love my puppy! And to think, my love for him doesn't even BEGIN to compare with how much God loves me. And how much He loves you. You see, Jesus DID come for the Israelites. We've seen that. The Old Testament tells their story, and here, in the New Testament, we see Jesus as the obvious fulfillment of the Jewish law and the prophets. But the deeper reality is that Jesus didn't come JUST for the Jewish people. He's just too big to be a God of only one nation. He is God of all the nations – every tribe and tongue, throughout all of history. In this passage we see that it was time for the world…and the disciples…to recognize that Jesus is a God for all people for all time. This Gentile woman may not have understood the depth of Jesus' reign, but she KNEW that Jesus was there FOR her and her daughter. And Jesus put HER faith on display for the world – and the disciples – to learn from. Verse 28.. 28 “Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed. Mark 7:30 says…  30 And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone. Jesus' love and power have no borders! Matthew continues… 29 Jesus returned to the Sea of Galilee and climbed a hill and sat down. 30 A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn't speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all. 31 The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn't been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking, and the blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel. As if to emphasize that Jesus is the God of the many AND the God of the one, Mark's version focuses in on the healing of one individual deaf man…Mark 7:33… 33 Jesus led him away from the crowd so they could be alone. He put his fingers into the man's ears. Then, spitting on his own fingers, he touched the man's tongue. 34 Looking up to heaven, he sighed and said, “Ephphatha,” ( eh FAH thah) which means, “Be opened!” 35 Instantly the man could hear perfectly, and his tongue was freed so he could speak plainly! Jesus' power and love have no borders. Next we read a story that sounds oh-so-familiar. Remember when Jesus fed the crowd of 5000 Jews with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish? Well, here He is again, in the midst of another crowd. This one a little smaller – there were only 4000 Gentile men along with women and children in this crowd. And instead of being there for a day listening to Jesus teach, these non-Jews had been in this remote area learning from the best for three days! Matthew 15:32… 32 Then Jesus called his disciples and told them, “I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. I don't want to send them away hungry, or they will faint along the way.” 33 The disciples replied, “Where would we get enough food here in the wilderness for such a huge crowd?” 34 Jesus asked, “How much bread do you have?” They replied, “Seven loaves, and a few small fish.” 35 So Jesus told all the people to sit down on the ground. 36 Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to the disciples, who distributed the food to the crowd. 37 They all ate as much as they wanted. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven large baskets of leftover food. 38 There were 4,000 men who were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children. 39 Then Jesus sent the people home, and he got into a boat and crossed over to the region of Magadan. (MEAH gah dan) Several things we can learn from feeding of the 2nd crowd: First, when we remember what God has done, our faith will grow. Jesus used this opportunity to remind the disciples of what He was capable of. I can recall as a young Christian remembering that I could pray about something. I don't know why, but I was stressed, up against something that felt impossible. And the Holy Spirit reminded me to pray. It was so freeing, to remember how amazing our God is! God isn't like lightning – He can strike twice in the same spot! When we remember His miracles in our lives, our faith will grow. Second, Jesus cares and will always provide what we need. I love that Jesus recognized that these Gentiles were so hungry that they were in danger of fainting on the way home. And after all, He knew they had stories to share about what they had seen! Jesus recognized their need and gave them nourishment to share what they had learned with others. Jesus cares and will always provide what we need. And the third thing we can learn…you can probably guess…Jesus' love and power have no borders.. Jesus may have been come to earth as the Son of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – the Jewish forefathers. And He certainly fulfilled what the Jewish prophets foretold of their Messiah. But Jesus came for every person – and He gave His life for every person – and He lives for every person. Jesus performed miracles and taught among the Jews. And THEN He performed miracles and taught among the Gentiles. Jesus blessed the bread and fish, and give it to the disciples to feed the hungry crowd of Jewish men, women and children. The disciples then gathered 12 baskets of leftovers. As you study the Bible, you will begin to recognize that 12 is a significant number that occurs often, leading us back to the 12 tribes of Israel. And then Jesus blessed some bread and fish AGAIN, giving it to the disciples for them to feed the crowd of Gentiles. This time, they collected 7 baskets of leftovers. Seven is the number of completion in the Bible. God's is gathering His complete family. He began with the Jewish people, but He has welcomed in every tribe and tongue and nation. Jesus multiplied the bread and fish as the disciples passed it out to both the Jews and the Gentiles. But Jesus had far more for the disciples to give to the world on His behalf. Jesus taught and cared for the disciples that they might teach and care for the world. If you have given your life to Christ, you, too, are a disciple – tasked with teaching and caring for God's people. Those from every nation. God has provided for you, and through His blessing and the work of your hands, His following will continue to grow on this earth. We all have a calling. And it is only when we each do what we are called to do that every nation will be reached. Let's pray… Dear Jesus…thank you for coming for the crowd and for the one. Thank you for coming for the Jew and the Gentile. Thank you for your provision that we all might be here today, leaning into your teaching. Thank you for the opportunity you give each of us to share your blessings with a world in need. God, help us to remember that your power has no borders, and that you call each of us to harness that power to spread your name throughout this earth. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

In Episode 98, we talk about the second and last part of a mini-series where we continue discussing Jesus' earthly existence and spiritual journey. In the previous episode, we revealed the first source of Jesus' power where it instructs, equips, and enables Christians to grow in grace and spread the gospel across the world for the glory of God.Although it is etched in the Bible's pages in countless stories, how exactly did Jesus achieve his divine power? The answer: it was not his own. It was the Holy Spirit and another source of power, a non-negotiable, that allowed Jesus to walk the path he did.Tune in now and let's go bigger, better, and deeper! If you enjoy this episode, please subscribe to the God Stuff Podcast so you're always first to know when a new episode is released. Episode Timestamps: Introduction [00:00]Jesus' Second Source of Power [02:40]The Power of God's Word [03:54]“The Sword of The Spirit is The Word of God” [08:19]How did Jesus Obtained His Power? TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, I will entrust to Him my future. I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.  From 2 Timothy 1:12 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Matthew 6:14-15; Matthew 6:9-13; Ephesians 5:1-2; Psalms 13:1-6. Keep Track If Money Talked November 21, 2021 Have you ever lost your keys? Imagine the morning rush…you're racing to get out the door on time. You've got a bagel in your mouth, your coat's half on, you've snagged your backpack with one hand, while you try to get your other arm into your coat so you can grab your coffee and herd the kids out to the car. And then, you reach for your keys… only to come up empty. But they're always right there! In that spot. That's where you put them every night! Well, apparently not last night. And then the rush kicks into overdrive as you search frantically for the missing keys. Keeping track of all the things can be a lot of work! There is just so much! There are the basics like time…wait, what time is it? How did it get to be so late? I still have so much to do! And then there's the refrigerator. What do you mean we're out of milk again? Why didn't anyone write it on the grocery list? And there's the kids, the school and sports schedules, the laundry, dentist appointments, and oops, the car needed an oil change over a month ago. So many things! Well, thankfully, technology has made it so that some things are easier to keep track of. My keys have this fancy little do-dad that allows me to locate them whenever they aren't where I expect them to be. I can just find them with my phone! Of course, that's assuming I know where my phone is! But if I've misplaced my phone, I can always track it down with my Apple watch. Ahhh…technology! There are also apps for keeping track of just about anything…your appointments, your workouts, your diet, your grocery list, the books you've read; if you want to track it, there's probably an app for it! There are even apps to help you keep track of your money! In our sermon series the last couple of weeks, we've been taking a look at what your money might say…if your money could talk. Interestingly, we've discovered that if money could talk, it would probably say the same things that Jesus DID say about money.

Thank you for your supports! We are continuing with our series concerning what Jesus Did for You and me and God at the cross. Our teacher, Dr. Mitchell is focusing on the doctrines of grace which proceed from the cross of Christ. In this study, he will be looking at the need for justification based on the character of God who is righteous. He gives us the definition of the word ‘Justified or justification.' Sinful man needs God's declaration of righteousness in order to stand in the presence of a holy God. Let's turn to Romans 3:20 where Dr. Mitchell declares the doctrine of justification by God for the one who puts their faith in Christ. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unchanging-word/message

This week, my guest (Bryce) and I dive into the second part of a two part series concerning effeminacy in men. The first part was geared more towards soft, weak, effeminate men in our society and that behavior being condemned in scripture. This week we dive into effeminacy in its fruition, namely homosexuality. This sin has been welcomed and invited in our evangelical Christian circles in America. The church has largely capitulated on this issue and terms such as "gay Christian" are now commonplace even in "reformed" circles. The scriptures are extremely clear on the topic although our culture would war against it. Christians cannot serve two masters. Thanks for listening! The Catholic Church is still reeling and recovering from a series of scandals involving some of its priests and bishops. The Church has also done a great deal to address them within its own ranks. There are, however, those who would do nothing but remind the Church of its checkered past, ignoring the rapid and revolutionary strides it has taken to ensure avoidance of scandal in the future, atonement for it sins, and the future protection of all people of all ages. Jesus also had something to say on the topic and the angle He takes is rather unexpected. Fr. Bill does not ask "What Would Jesus Say". Rather He reminds us of what Jesus DID say, as he addresses the overall dynamic of Church scandals, its efforts to overcome them, correct its flaws and atone for its sins, while at the same time dealing with those who would use them to rail against the Church and its moral credibility.

Did you hear that? Jesus is speaking through the Bible and He wants us to listen and respond, to become on fire for Him.We all know that Jesus came to light a fire among the men and women of His time. The choice for us becomes whether we will lay down, cold as stone, contributing nothing at all to our brothers and sisters in the faith. Or catch this fire with what He taught?Jesus confronted a violent murdering man on the road to Damascus by asking him a question. The response of this man was amazing. If you'll listen in we'll see how this man went on to change the world after he heard Jesus speak…and acted on His Words.Show-notes: (For complete notes go to hopesharbor.net) Hope's HarborGritty Bible DevotionsEpisode #4Title: Heart and Mind of Jesus – Did you hear that?Moving Forward After We Hear – Lesson 3Date: 4/26/2021Contact: info@hopesharbor.netKey verse(s):·         Col 1:28 - Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Intro:·         So that we don't forget the importance of fellowship between Christians I want to lead into this devotion with a lesson revealed to me by fire.·         Last night I experience something while sitting by a bonfire that is a mystery. It is the effect sitting around a fire had on me. It must be primal because it reaches beyond my normal reluctance to be in a group setting. This is by no means a slight against those who were there. It's something I learned in childhood, how to withdraw within.·         So, this morning while watching the fire in the fireplace I saw a log on top I had just placed there. It was contributing nothing to the fire at the moment. The fire had to exert an influence on that cold dead log. And it did this without an agenda or hidden motive, it's just what fire does, what it was created to do.·         Eventually that dead log came to life and gave back to the effort of the other logs. Then it hit me. Those logs once involved in the process release their potential, but only at the expense of their existence.·         Do you see the lesson in this?·         As we go through this lesson think about how Jesus came and lit a fire among the men and women who heard what He preached. The choice for us then becomes whether we will lay dead and cold, contributing nothing to our brothers and sisters in the faith, or catch the fire of what Jesus taught. ·         I thought of examples of people who responded to what they heard and how their fire spread throughout the world and down through the centuries since.·         The key verse of Col 1:28 – ‘Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus,' reveals what happened to Paul after he heard Jesus speak.·         This is the goal of every conscientious Christian teaching the Word of GOD – the goal to provide the means needed for growth and maturity in those who we teach.·         To teach well is my responsibility – to learn and apply is yours.·         Turn to Acts 9:3-16 (Read the passage)Complete notes are on hopesharbor.net

Raise your hand if you've heard this "Law VS Grace" thing before: God gave the Law to show us the difference between right and wrong. If anyone was able to perfectly obey it, they would never die or be punished by God. The bad news is that none of us can even come close to keeping the Law, and that means we're all going to Hell. But the good news is that Jesus DID perfectly keep every part of the Law. And because He was perfect and we aren't, He died for us so we don't have to. Now, we don't have to keep the Law anymore because we couldn't really do it in the first place. And that's called "grace." The problem with all of this is that Jesus said the exact opposite, and I'll prove it to you in less than 10 minutes. Looking for a resource to go DEEPER into the Jewish context of Scripture? 035 – The real solution to racism is to love like Jesus did. There is no skin color in heaven. Paul wrote to the church in Corinth, "flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven." (1 Corinthians 15:50)Jesus said we should love our neighbors as ourselves. When on earth are we going to learn what that means and then do it?In this episode, I talk about healing the anger and fear in our people's hearts. Your prayers are powerful healing agents in the world today. You may never know the good you're doing. The healing of racism is not going to come from legislation, demonstrations, protests and so many of the ways people are responding to the death of George Floyd. As important as these responses may be, they will only be effective if they motivated by a deep spiritual love. If the love is missing, all those efforts at reform will miss the mark.To conclude this week's episode, I share a poem called, "Teach Me to Love" written back in 1908 by Louise Wheatley Cook Hovnanian.
