Welcome to the Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast! In this episode, we explore strategies and inspiration to overcome fears and doubts, empowering you to bounce back with confidence. Yahne discovered her true self when she challenged the perspectives that life presented to her. She embraced the words of her favorite poet, Maya Angelou, and realized the phenomenal woman within herself. However, it took time for Yahne to fully grasp the deep meaning of self-love and accept her imperfections. Growing up, Yahne experienced abuse and a lack of love from her family, which made it difficult for her to truly love herself. Now, Yahne encourages everyone to embrace their authentic selves and strives to make the world a better place. Her motto is, "It's not what they tell you, it's what you tell yourself." With a background in social work, she understands that starting from the beginning when everything doesn't make sense is the way to heal not only internally but also one's present reality. Yahne has a passion for making sure that everyone knows they have a purpose and are meant to be here to make a difference. Yahne wants to eliminate distractions and negative forces and focus on what really matters: love, unity, and the pursuit of happiness for humanity. At the end of the day, the very essence of who we are is easily forgotten. We must remember that we are human first, before any titles or labels are bestowed upon us. 'Love, acceptance, and forgiveness' is messy business. How do we love, accept, and forgive those who are different from us? Those who are broken, hurting, and sinful? As Christ followers, there's much in our own lives that offends our Savior, yet He loves, accepts, and forgives us. Shouldn't we do the same?" From Sunday 06.26.24

The Wellness Empowerment Project: Two nurses exploring the art and science of holistic modalities.
In this episode of the Wellness Empowerment Project, Julie interviews Christina Coleman, a transformational life coach and Air Force veteran, about her journey to self-acceptance and the crucial role of worthiness. Christina speaks about her early desire to be a life coach, the challenges and rejections she faced, and struggling with unworthiness in the military and her personal life. Her pivotal moments of self-revelation came through confronting abusive relationships and professional stagnation. Christina underscores the importance of distinguishing between self-worth and confidence, recognizing patterns of unworthiness, and undertaking the deep inner work necessary to heal. She emphasizes the necessity of examining the roots of these feelings, typically formed in childhood, and their manifestation in adult behaviors, such as comparing oneself to others or experiencing imposter syndrome. With insights into overcoming self-criticism and fostering inner dialogue, Christina's story is a powerful testament to the transformation that can occur through recognizing and affirming one's inherent worthiness. Sheldon Fuller found his purpose in an unexpected place... the barber shop. Ever since he took a risk and took on a career as a professional barber, he has opened his own shop in Boerne, TX, and is using his chair to help encourage positivity, acceptance, and an attitude of taking things a little less serious to his community. Host, Zach Jewell and Sheldon had similar experiences of not feeling accepted by peers, and finding their voices in music from the likes of Metallica, Pantera, NOFX, and others along that vein, which was the catalyst toward a path of self understanding for them both. If you have listened to our show for any length of time or follow us on social media, you know that here at Growing Small Towns the traditional approach to economic growth just doesn't get us real excited. While it's great if a big business does want to come to your town and build an office or something, we like to think outside that particular box. What we like to focus on is how our communities feel and make others feel and what kinds of mentalities are holding us back from realizing our full potential, both as individual humans and as small town communities. This episode is all about those feelings and mentalities and it all shows up in practice. In this episode, we cover: Two big feelings we at GST like to generate: juicy connection, and brain/heart swell Why we as humans love an either/or, black and white scenario, and why those scenarios aren't the most productive Three of Those Scenarios: Audacity OR pragmatism Love/Acceptance of What IS OR Desire to Make it Better We're the Most Unique-ist OR We're Just Like Everyone Else Links + Resources Mentioned Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert Get In Touch Have an idea for a future episode/guest, have feedback or a question, or just want to chat? It begins and ends with you. Be it a parent, friend, colleague or boss; successful, courageous, abundant or loving--everything you are/aren't, and everything you'll ever be happens because of you and how you feel about yourself. Is there anything more important than that?! In this episode, Andryanna continues her quest in shining a light on the importance of loving and caring for ourselves. Starting with Valentine's Day observations and humourous parodies, she recalls her own shortcomings and limiting beliefs that led to disruption and struggles in her own life. This episode includes insights on why we should continually be working on building up our own self-esteem, confidence and acceptance. Andryanna shares information from parenting guides, and tools from self-development leaders like Louise Hays to emphasize how our relationship with ourself must always be a priority. She shares three tools and an exercise for building self-love, acceptance and esteem, ending with an affirmation reading on deservability that you'll want to come back to time and time again. As the Zoweh team further discusses the Ingredients of Love, they consider the power of Acceptance. When we truly acknowledge the Acceptance of God, we feel His invitation to come closer and to belong. We reciprocate by providing Him a platform to speak into our lives. Furthermore, Acceptance by God plants the seed in us to demonstrate Acceptance to others. They also unpack the difference between Acceptance of the person vs. behavior and how they have navigated this in real life examples. Connect with the Zoweh Team at exploringmore@zoweh.org.
