Hello to you listening in Nairobi, Kenya!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. The old ones in China tell a story about an equally old painter who invited friends to his home to see his latest work. His friends gathered around to admire the artist's painting which he had hung on a wall. The painting was a scene of a little park and a tiny footbridge crossing a stream that meandered through a forest that opened onto a meadow where stood a small cottage with an equally small door painted blue. Those gathered together turned around to tell the painter how much they admired his work but he was nowhere to be found. One of his friends said, "Look! There he is! In the painting!" He walked up the path that led to the door of the cottage, stopped, turned, smiled, and disappeared inside.Question: Imagine becoming so engrossed in your work that you end up disappearing into it in the same way. What do you imagine happens next? You are driving a car. The brakes stop working. To your horror, you are approaching a busy street market. Many people might be killed if you run into them. The only way to prevent a catastrophe is by turning fast to the right. Unfortunately, a lonely pedestrian might be killed if you do so.  Should you turn? Many people say you should. After all, killing one is better than killing many. But following the same logic, would you kill an individual to collect their organs for people in dire need of one? In this case, too, you would kill one to save many. Yet very few are willing to do so. Why? These are variations of the infamous “trolley problems”. Originally formulated half a century ago, these trolley problems continue to elicit heated conversations. They have a whole meme culture built around them. Yet for years, I was not convinced of their value. They seemed to squeeze ethics into narrow funnels of “yeses" and "noes", neglecting much of real life's texture. I have changed my mind. And I've done so largely thanks to Peter Railton. A professor of philosophy at UC Michigan, Railton used to share my scepticism about the trolley problems. But he, too, changed his mind. Having in-depth conversations about them with his students, Railton came to see these problems as revealing some important about morality. Combined with recent evidence from psychology and neuroscience, Railton believes that these insights can reveal a lot about the human mind more generally. I will let him tell you why. Why Google WONT Approve Your GMB (Google My Business)In this article, we will discuss the reasons why Google may not approve your Google My Business (GMB) listing and how you can overcome these challenges. We will also explore the importance of engagement and reviews in improving your GMB ranking. Additionally, we will address the question of whether WordPress is a suitable platform for your website and introduce an alternative option called Footbridge. Let's dive in!The Importance of Engagement and ReviewsWhen it comes to ranking factors on GMB, engagement and reviews play a significant role. Increasing engagement and obtaining more reviews can greatly improve your business's visibility in Google listings, particularly in the map section. If you have more reviews than your competitors, even if you are located further away, you have a higher chance of securing a top position in the map pack.Changing Address on GoogleIf you are planning to move your office to a new location within the same city, you may be wondering about the correct protocol for changing your address on Google. The decision to change your address on Google depends on several factors. If your current location is performing well and generating good leads, it may be best to hold off on changing the address immediately. However, if the new location is more ideal and you believe it will attract more customers, it's worth considering the change. When changing your address on Google, it's important to do it properly to avoid any negative impact on your business. One effective way to ensure a smooth transition is by using a tool like Yext, which allows you to distribute your new address information across various directories and lock it in to prevent it from being overwritten by outdated data.Footbridge: An Alternative to WordPressIf you're considering building a website for your local business, you may be wondering if WordPress is the right platform for you. While WordPress offers customization options and a wide range of plugins, it can be complex to navigate, especially if you're not a web developer. Additionally, the use of multiple plugins can slow down your website's load time, leading to a poor user experience and higher bounce rates.Footbridge offers an alternative to WordPress with its proprietary platform specifically designed for local businesses. Unlike WordPress, Footbridge's platform is optimized for speed, both on mobile and desktop. It provides an ecosystem that is proven to be effective for local businesses, with a monthly cost of $199.The Benefits of FootbridgeOne of the key benefits of using Footbridge is its ability to handle Google My Business (GMB) suspensions. If your GMB listing gets suspended, Footbridge can appeal on your behalf, saving you the hassle and increasing the chances of a successful resolution. This is particularly valuable as GMB suspensions can be challenging to navigate and can negatively impact your online presence.Additionally, Footbridge's platform offers seamless customer service and ensures that your website ranks well and looks great. With their expertise in local business optimization, they can help you make the most of your online presence and drive more traffic to your Local Domination 0-7k Course Pressure Washing Resource Page Footbridge Media $199 Lean & Mean Deal Pressure Washing Customer Contract Chemicals & Equipment The Pros Use Instagram

Friedrich Nietzsche wrote a large number of books defying systematization, creating a reputation for difficulty that is not altogether fair. For instance, “The Gay Science” (1882) captures the bulk of Nietzsche's philosophy through great writing highlighting its own anti-obscurantism, which makes it the perfect book for introducing readers to his work. In ArtiFact #39, Alex Sheremet and Irish poet Laura Woods tackle Friedrich Nietzsche's literary and intellectual accomplishments by carefully assessing the book's introductory poems and 383 aphorisms, by way of Walter Kaufmann's classic translation. They dissect Nietzsche's views of women, art, politics, war, questions of personal experience, and more, finishing their conversation in a patron-only discussion on the book's remainder. Other subjects include: Brett Weinstein and Aella (OnlyFans), Steven Pinker's misunderstandings of Nietzsche, how Friedrich Nietzsche can be used for left-wing politics, a men's rebellion on Reddit, and more. How I Took That Photo

Today, we're talking about a photo called Footbridge. This is an amazing photo. I was so excited when I saw this particular footbridge. There are a couple of ways that you can do night photography. I did talk about this a little bit and episode two on Space Needle lowering the ISO to 100 and pulling out the exposure time. This is the other way, if you need a short exposure time. You can see more of my work and connect with me on all of my social media sites through my website, caseybroda.com. Full written transcript is also available at my website. Known affectionately as Frosty the Showman; impresario John Frost has been at the pinnacle of Musical Theatre in Australia for several decades. The Gordon Frost Organisation contributes much of the commercial product that traverses stages around the country. His productions have garnered a swag of local awards as well as two Tony Awards for musicals on the Broadway stage.Frost grew up in Adelaide and harboured dreams of a showbiz life. He’d stage backyard entertainments with his doting Aunt Mary playing Eliza to his Henry Higgins. He's been stage-struck ever since. It was a childhood influenced by a regular diet of television and Hollywood movies. A dalliance with amateur theatre in his teens provided him with the realisation that he was suited more to backstage. He left school at 15 and began his career as a dresser on the J.C. Williamson’s production of Mame. Frost had found what he wanted to do and the young apprentice garnered enormous knowledge working his way through a succession of roles - Wardrobe Master, Office Assistant to Kenn Brodziak, Stage Manager, Company Manager and Actors Agent - each experience informing his prized accomplishment as Producer. In 1983 John Frost co-founded the Gordon Frost Organisation with Ashley Gordon. They took a lease on the University of Sydney’s Footbridge Theatre and presented a succession of shows that would demonstrate to the pair the precarious nature of ‘the business’. Shows emanating from The Footbridge included Women Behind Bars (starring June Bronhill), ‘Night Mother (starring Jill Perryman and June Salter), Agnes of God and a ‘just sensational ‘ production of Jerry’s Girls. It’s a riveting story and John speaks frankly and with great wit, about his journey and what is involved in being Frosty the Showman; producing commercial product, increasing the profile of musical theatre and delivering a magical experience to audiences.
