The Grown Ups are in charge. That's why Yvette Cooper would not go on GB News but did do a soft interview with her husband, Ed Balls, on ITV. The Grown Ups are in charge so is that why Keir Starmer will not recall Parliament or look at the reasons or possible causes for this violence. The Grown Ups are in charge but they do not want to discuss Immigration both legal and illegal even though it is clearly at the core of the problem. The Grown Ups listen to every community but never the working class. Wanting to discuss immigration or being concerned about it does not make you a racist or Far Right. The Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has been speaking to Today's Martha Kearney about efforts to transform the Met's culture, including the removal of more officers. It follows a review earlier this year by Baroness Louise Casey on the force's culture and standards after the abduction, rape and murder of Sarah Everard by serving police officer Wayne Couzens, in 2021. During the course of her review, another Met officer, David Carrick, was convicted of a series of rapes, sexual offences and torture of women. Baroness Casey found the force was institutionally racist, sexist and homophobic. The Met Commissioner also revealed the force is in talks regarding a pay-out to the family of murdered private detective Daniel Morgan. Mr Morgan was found with an axe in his head in the car park of a pub in Sydenham, south-east London, in 1987. No-one has been convicted over the father of two's killing, since which there have been five inquiries and an inquest, at an estimated cost of more than £40m.The Met has previously admitted corruption hampered the original murder investigation and apologised to Mr Morgan's family. Today our guest is Mark Rowley. Having walked to the edge between faith and atheism, being ready to reject God, Mark began to see himself as a son of God. Mark has learned to love God and himself and has a desire to help others see their own beauty and to be a light to those who may be on similar journey.

Turns out, those sunlit uplands are quite bleak and a bit shady. In this episode we learn that a top Bank of England official has been saying that people need to accept we're now poorer. So, all that post Brexit paradise we were promised…it's been cancelled, or at least, it's been cordoned off for the majority of us… Marina tells us what it was like appearing on Have I Got News For You which leads nicely into the detail on how Richard Sharp has finally resigned as Chairman of the BBC.  Then, more men in Chairs but this time it's Deputy Chairman, Lee Anderson whom Marina and Jemma are interested in. His questioning of the Met Police Commissioner, Mark Rowley, was quite something which didn't escape Twitter's attention. After former police officer David Carrick was convicted for offences, including dozens of rapes, the Metropolitan Police began a review in January to root out unsuitable staff. It has found that hundreds of officer cases need further checking - the Met Police Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley says the force can not succeed in its policing mission until changes are made. A highly critical report on Britain's biggest police force has found it to be "institutionally racist, misogynist and homophobic". Baroness Louise Casey's review says the Metropolitan Police has failed to protect the public from staff who abuse women, and that female officers and staff routinely experienced sexism. Mishal Husain speaks to the report's author Baroness Casey, as well as Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley about the findings. Sir Mark Rowley, the Commissioner of the Met gave evidence to the Home Affairs Select Committee this week and it provided a fascinating insight into the bewilderingly complex job that he has taken on. The preoccupations of the MPs and their obvious lack of understanding of the realities of modern policing was alarming but not at all surprising.

The new Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley, faces big challenges in his first week in office. The state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will be at the top of his agenda, but also improving the reputation of the force. The Met was heavily criticised following the murder of Sarah Everard by a serving policeman and the sharing of racist and sexist group chat messages by officers at Charing Cross police station. Public trust in the force was strained even further last week when an unarmed black man, Chris Kaba, was fatally shot in Streatham. Born in Birmingham, Mark Rowley attended Handsworth Grammar School before studying mathematics at Cambridge. After university he joined the West Midlands Police force, rising through the ranks to become the Head of UK Counter Terrorism Policing, overseeing the response to the terrorist attacks in 2017. He retired from the Met in 2018, and co-authored a crime thriller. Now Sir Mark Rowley aims to restore public confidence in the force. So, what kind of leader will he be? There has been much talk in recent weeks about the RSC's production of Macbeth, but turn your glance to the silver screen (and streaming platforms) and you'll find that Shakespeare's most abject analysis of greed, ambition, and lust for power, is wowing select audiences around the UK. Directed by Kit Monkman and starring Mark Rowley as Macbeth, Akiya Henry as Lady Macbeth and Al Weaver as Banquo, this is a stunning movie that mixes the traditional approach with a rich visual language, a tapestry of of vividly imagined locations presented as CGI set dressing for the story to unfold against. The movie summary is as follows: "Brilliant young general Macbeth pulls off a glorious victory in battle before returning to an indolent court where honours are dispensed by whim. Spurred on by prophesying drifters and an ambitious wife, Macbeth sets his sights on the throne.
