She had no idea just how much the birth of her first child would open up her family's world. This led to the revelation that her mother, Rebecca Massie, also sought sperm donors to birth Simone and Simone's brother Alex. Remember the flutters of first crushes and the buzz of schoolyard whispers? Together with my daughter Estela, we take a heartfelt plunge into the world of tween crushes and the ensuing gossip that can feel like navigating a minefield. We swap stories, with Estela offering a peek into the pulse of today's tween experiences, rife with the excitement and anxiety of burgeoning attractions, as well as the sometimes harsh reality of gossip. Through laughter and a bit of cringing, we dissect how to manage the tender confessions of young hearts, proposing personal journals as a safe haven for those secrets not quite ready for the light of day.Ah, the rollercoaster of tweenage drama, where yesterday's crush could become today's mortification—believe me, I've been there. Recalling my own tales of awkward crushes, like the time I found myself bewildered by the Brazilian classmate I once admired from afar, I share how these experiences, complete with the perils of puberty and cruel jokes, shaped my understanding of the often strange dance of youthful attraction. We encourage embracing individual preferences without the sting of judgment and invite our listeners to join the conversation—because whether you're a parent navigating these waters with your child or simply reminiscing about your own squirm-worthy escapades, we're all in this together. Catch our candid discussions on Instagram at Seeking Different, and share your own journey through the laughs and the lessons of growing up.Support the show

Mudita Earth has scaled quicker than they imagined and is on Amazon and they've pitched to Walmart! We talk a little about that experience too and what its like being a WOC in business. Mudita Earth is a member of 1% of the Planet, giving back to the environment that gives us Mudita Earth, which is such an inspo, and Pooja tells us all about it too. What's better than one gymnast in the family? Two of course! In this episode Coach Rebecca is talking to the mother and daughter duo who are both competing in level 10 gymnastics. For everyone who's been told they're too old, Liz is going to prove otherwise! Liz shares her gymnastics journey that started when she was a kid. At 12 she began really pursuing higher level gymnastics and hasn't stopped since, except to have her 2 kids. She's proof that starting at 12 can work, and staying with it can work too. It's okay to commit to your gymnastics training at any age. Maribelle has been doing gymnastics from a young age. She didn't start training until she was 6 and that was when she told her parents that she really wanted to. She's now level 10 and is a second alternate for nationals. She says that being in the gym with mom and dad coaching works, and it's an on-going process for all of them. When should you stop training? Liz said that after having her first child she thought it was expected that her gymnastic days were over. She began training to gain some strength after a postnatal illness. She shares how she made it back to not just training, but competing and winning. Maribelle shares her motivation. Right now, she's got her sights on qualifying for elite and she's thinking about competing in college. Coach Rebecca asks about the mental toughness part of gymnastics for both Liz and Maribelle and how they manage the mental part of training and competing. What if there was no end date? How would things look if coaches and athletes didn't add arbitrary dates and deadlines? Would the fear be the same? Would it be easier to manage? Great discussion about how this works for Liz and those she coaches. Liz and a Maribelle also share their take on: Diet and nutrition Training for performance and strength Focusing on what works for them (not being rigid about the process) What to do instead of avoiding a skill How to work with a coach and how to coach individually The advantages and disadvantages of having parents be your coaches Lastly, Coach Rebecca asks what they recommend for people who feel like they're “late” or want to start gymnastics when they are older. They have great advice for kids and for parents. Check out this great conversation and the fun advice and smart take on competing at any age, and making it work as a gymnastics family.

Confidence Within: Mothers and Daughters Learning From Each Other My 5-year-old daughter, Mickey, shares her voice and claims her rightful space. She is her own person, and her confidence within has changed my life. To try and mold her to be who I think she should be is wrong. She has a right to be herself. She is not a reflection of me and to treat her as such is projecting my own insecurities onto her. When I feel challenged or fearful of finding my confidence within, I think, “WWMD?” What would Mickey do? Undoubtedly, she would be true to herself and remain persistent. Her confidence within is my inspiration. Check out the mom self-love journal on Amazon. When moms take those few minutes each day to practice self-love, it allows us to love others at our best. Next up is Part 4 of 5 of the Fear Series where I'm sharing some of my fears, why they exist, what I'm doing to push through those fears and how you can do the same. Today is all about my fear of losing my mom and daughter. It's crazy how this episode was recorded in March 2020 and in April 2020 I got huge scares that flashed before my eyes for both my mom and daughter. On April 10, 2022 my mom had a stroke for the first time ever. She is now in recovery. On April 20, 2022 my daughter's dorm building at college caught fire. She and other students were relocated to temporary housing. My daughter wasn't hurt, but at least 4 people were hurt. We know that none of us will live forever. We are all going to die one day. We just hope that our last day is a long time from now. The best thing we can do is appreciate the good that life has to offer and spend time with loved ones who bring positivity into our lives. When someone you love dies, you might be sad, angry, or hurt. If you enjoy the good times while those loved ones are here, it may be easier to cope with their death once they are gone because you won't be wishing you should have called them more or spent more time with them. Spend more time with them now. Call them now. Text them now. Email them now. Go visit them in person now. Laugh with them now. Tell them how much you care, love and appreciate them. 00:00 - Losing a loved one can be scary 00:34 - Intro 00:54 - Part 4 of 5 (Fear Series) 01:12 - Fear of Losing My Mom & Daughter 05:56 - Daily money habits text community 07:06 - How to push through this fear 10:39 - Do you have any fears about losing a loved one? 10:56 - Wrap up 11:13 Outro __ The Financially Free with Cleo Podcast is available on YouTube and all podcasting platforms (Apple, Spotify, Google, iHeart, Amazon, PodBean) https://www.cleoyogafinance.com/podcast If you enjoy the show, please subscribe on Youtube, or subscribe, rate and review on Apple or Spotify. A mom steals her daughter's identity to relive her college days and is smoking tobacco a thing of the past in New Zealand?
A wellness practice that has been a life-changer for me is releasing caffeine from my life. Five years ago I was introduced to a product that started my journey of giving up coffee. If you're thinking - “I could never!” trust me I was just like you. I finally fully gave up coffee because of this product - Dandy Blend, a roasted plant beverage that actually tastes as good as coffee. On today's episode, I'm introducing you to the women behind the brand. Karin Reale, the CFO of Dandy Blend, and Gina Reale the CMO of Dandy Blend, with their family, have carried on the legacy of Karin's father, Dr. Peter Gail. Dubbed the “King of Dandelions,” botanist and Dandy Blend Founder Dr. Peter Gail devoted his life's work to the study of wild plants – particularly the dandelion. From teaching others how to safely consume freshly foraged weeds, herbs, and roots to using them for medicinal and healing properties, Dr. Gail amassed one of the largest collections of recipes and folklore for wild edible plants in the U.S. His passion for educating others was evident in the various books he published as well as his 16-year tenure as a professor at Cleveland State University. Today this mother and daughter team, in partnership with Dr. Gail's son-in-law and grandson, carries on the business in his honor – they continue to share Peace + Happiness with others through his legacy, a sentiment Dr. Gail held dear. In the episode we discuss: * The background of the brand * What it was like growing up in an environment that honors foraging wild plants * Stories from customers about how plants have changed their health * Health benefits of dandelion * Favorite ways to incorporate wild plants into your diet * Lessons passed down from Dr. Gail Find and follow Dandy Blend at @dandyblend Resource: Book mentioned in this episode: Raise Your Vibration: 111 Practices to Increase Your Spiritual Connection by Kyle Gray, Life As A Daymaker: How To Change The World By Making Someone's Day by David Wagner, The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo Upcoming events to know about: Join my upcoming workshops and courses, all of which are available on my events page. In an interview that almost didn't happen, Paula's 81-year-old mother, Carol, and her 13-year-old daughter, Caroline, join her for a very special Mother's Day episode. Little did they know just 24 hours after this recording, Carol would be hospitalized after suffering a major stroke however, she is now on the mend and already back to singing. In the episode, the three generations of women talk about their callings at different stages of life and are reminded just how precious their time together is. Caroline shares her perspective as a teen overcoming the challenges of middle school and learning to stand on her own instead of following the crowd. And Carol opens up about her life after losing her husband of 53 years and what she is hoping to do with the years that remain ahead of her. They reminisce about memories from their past and share how important they are to one another. “Motherhood is one of the greatest vocations you can strive for... it's so underrated.” - Carol #81AndNotNearlyDone #13AndLifesNotAlwaysADream
