Before taking off for the upcoming Chicago Critics Film Festival (May 2-8) which they program, Erik Childress and Steve Prokopy review nine movies this week. They include the latest from Francois Ozon (When Fall Is Coming) and a Jim Henson-like fantasy from A24 (The Legend of Ochi). Jack Quaid and Jeffrey Dean Morgan make for unique investigators of a kidnapping (Neighborhood Watch) and a new video game adaptation is decidedly less unique (Until Dawn). Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jacob Elordi have secrets in the 1950s (On Swift Horses) and we take a trip through the careers of one of the most famous comedy teams of all-time (Cheech & Chong's Last Movie). David Cronenberg takes us on a conspiratorial meditation on grief and death (The Shrouds) while Gareth Evans has Tom Hardy deliver so much death (Havoc) and, nine years later, Ben Affleck's lethal autistic numbers cruncher returns with bro Jon Bernthal  (The Accountant 2).  2:56 - When Fall Is Coming 9:44 - Neighborhood Watch 15:08 – The Legend of Ochi 19:42 - Havoc 33:46 - Until Dawn 41:19 - On Swift Horses 52:58 - Cheech & Chong's Last Movie 1:06:30 - The Shrouds 1:19:35 - The Accountant 2

This week we're sparking up that canon, hot-boxing the Video Dungeon, and blazing right into the hazy, hilarious world of Cheech and Chong's Nice Dreams — the third film from the legendary stoner duo! Pass it to the left as we break down this 1981 cult classic filled with talking iguanas, wild police chases, and a LOT of questionable decisions. Is this movie a trippy masterpiece or just a smokey mess? We'll talk characters, plot (what there is of it!), the best laughs, how it stacks up against other Cheech & Chong flicks like Up in Smoke and Next Movie, and if this should have been their last movie. Wyatt from  @CinemaTripReviews  joins us for this session, and he brought the tied-stick!

Ready for another wild ride with head-turning #cannabis #news, great songs and a few surprises!      Let's get into some juicy headlines: first up, the #U.S. #government is actually looking for people or companies to help roll #joints for #research.  Yep, you heard that right—the feds need someone to produce “research-grade” marijuana cigarettes with precise #THC levels, and they're opening bids for the job.  If you've ever dreamt of getting paid to roll, this might just be your chance to go pro in a government-backed way.      But not all cannabis news is as chill, #California's governor recently shut down a bill that would have allowed cannabis #farmers to sell their products at local farmers' markets, which had growers hoping for a direct line to customers.  Meanwhile, cannabis icons Cheech & Chong are back in the spotlight, and this time it's legal action: they're suing California over restrictions that ban #CBD in certain products, an unexpected twist for a state known for its progressive cannabis policies.      As always, tune in for the #music!  This episode's lineup features a killer mix: Black Sabbath, R.L. Burnside, Donovan, and Little Simz, with many more surprises.  And before we sign off, make sure to follow us on #TikTok for exclusive updates and behind-the-scenes clips. Catch it all on Air Tight #123—your gateway to cannabis culture, music, and more!

Today on the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to Precious Chong, daughter of Tommy Chong, aka The Man, aka THE Chong in the comedy team Cheech and Chong. It was a real thrill to talk to Precious as she is someone Josh had never met before but was part of his peripheral circle as she was friends with a few of his childhood friends while we were growing up. Oh and Josh's mom, Edie Adams, co-starred in Cheech and Chong's Up In Smoke as Chong's mother, Mrs. Stoner. Talk about connections! We spoke to Precious about her very lean years growing up as Tommy Chong's daughter which suddenly became very different with the success of the Cheech & Chong comedy albums, live shows and films in the mid 1970s and ballooned into superstardom in the 1980s. We also spoke to Precious about her years as an assistant in Hollywood (listen for the Val Kilmer story), her own career in comedy as well as her directing debut which was quite the buzzworthy indie film. Along the way, we talk about long lost shooting scripts, lost LA restaurants, the comedy scene in Toronto, her dads incarceration on debatable charges, his status as a the elder statesmen of pot and much more. Precious had such a viv and verve talking to us that it was a real pleasure to have that energy at the other end of North America. So sit back and take a listen, to this episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast with Precious Chong. Another child of a celebrity interviewed by the child of a celebrity.

Steve Cooper talks with comedian/actor Tommy Chong. Tommy is best known for his invaluable contribution to American counter-culture as part of the iconic comedy duo Cheech & Chong. During their reign, the twosome recorded six gold comedy albums, including the 1973 Grammy winner Los Cochinos, and starred in eight films, most of which Chong co-wrote and directed. The first, Up In Smoke, was the highest grossing comedy of 1978, topping $100 million at the box office. Others were Cheech and Chong's Next Movie (1980), Nice Dreams (1981), Things Are Tough All Over (1982), Cheech and Chong: Still Smoking (1983), and The Corsican Brothers (1984). Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, he began his entertainment career as a musician in a Canadian-based rhythm and blues band. Eventually, he landed a gig with the Vancouvers and co-wrote the band's 1960's hit, Does Your Mama Know About Me. From here, he eventually turned towards the life as an actor. The first step was forming City Works, an improvisational group where he consequently met his future comedic partner, Richard “Cheech” Marin. Throughout the 1970's Cheech & Chong earned a massive following until eventually, the duo had run its lengthy and prosperous course and they both embarked on solo careers. Tommy has appeared in several films including 1990's Far Out, Man! and National Lampoon's Senior Trip. He has also starred, most notably, as “Leo” on Fox's That 70's Show, and has guest starred on ABC's Dharma & Greg and The George Lopez Show.

Pisces men and women are emotional water signs. They easily feel suppressed, not just towards themselves but others too. It is because they are mega empathetic. They have this ability to identify with others' feelings and pain due to their dealings with their own emotional sensitivity.   Just like any sign, the quirkiness of a Pisces is no exception. They can be quite secretive, hard to control, and restless. One might say that they have built-in-rebellion in them, which allows them to have an inner thirst for freedom, life experiences, and something new.   If ever met with negative energy or draining interactions, it is best for him/her to set bounderies to generate a positive energy boost.   We are joined on this episode by Tommy Chong. As half of the famed comic team Cheech & Chong, Grammy Award-winning comedian Tommy Chong is legendary for his significant contribution to American counter-culture. The twosome recorded six gold comedy albums during their reign, including the Grammy-winning "Los Cochinos" in 1973, and acted in eight films, the majority of which Chong co-wrote and directed. “Sativa to change the things I can, Indica to accept the things I can't.”- Bob Marley   Greetings and welcome to HomeBrew RockStars Episode 84 “Hazy History of 420”. In this episode we visit the origins of '420'. There are many versions, but we have the real deal detailng some Cali teenagers in search of free weed unbeknown to them that they would carve out a piece of modern folklore and an unofficial holiday. In fact, Lagunitas Brewing Co. brews a seasonal beer artfully named The Waldos, commemorating those crazy teens. The guys also talk about a list titled ‘9 Beers with a 420 Twiist' So, grab a beer, roll one up if you wish and settle in for some fun history that they never taught you in school. This is an appropriate time to queue up some Sublime and Cheech & Chong before ya ‘hit' the podcast.  We sampled some beverages during our fact-finding venture. Starting off with an offering from a local brewery named Prairie St Brewing Co. aptly name Prairie St IPA. This is a 68 IBU / 6.4% ABV easy drinker with floral, grapefruit and pine notes. The hops are locally sourced from Live Wire Hops in Amboy, IL. Nice job gents! Sears brought his Belgian Wit with a Kick, which is generously dosed with THC tincture. Brent found a CBD beverage from Hi-Lo Cannabis of Chicago IL. A light, sugar free cherry-lime caffeinated drink with CBD that we all though was very tasty and refreshing. Great for a warm summer afternoon. There was a canned non-alchol Black Coffee drink from Marz Brewing Community to keep our energy up.  If any of you listeners have a home brew you want to have the guys sample on the show give us a shout either via e-mail, our web site or Facebook. We would love the opportunity and get ya to call in and share with us, we promise we will be nice. As always we are thankful for our sponsors who we are glad to see still rocking it! If you are looking for a great craft beer and some of the best vegan food in the state line? Try Pig Minds Brewing and check out the new addition, looks awesome guys! Also stop in and see our good friends at Urban Forest Brewing and try the fine libations Alex and Heath proudly pour… YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! Want to get some of Chicago area's finest craft beer without the travel into the Windy City? Or seeking a hard-to-find commercial craft beer, wine or spirits to take home or as a gift? Stop in to Artale & Co, Anthony and Aaron have plenty of great ideas. When you are ready to start a new indoor gardening project stop in to 815 Gardens, Bob will be happy to help. Tell them that HomeBrew Rockstars sent ya. As always, we appreciate if you make sure to Like us, Follow us and RATE US, or hate us, but do something! Prost! #drinkitup
