If you’re starting this year feeling stuck, late, or behind in life, this episode gently reminds you that you’re not late, you’re right where you’re supposed to be. Jay unpacks a quiet truth many of us carry: almost everyone feels behind in love, career, money, or purpose, even when it looks like they’re winning. We compare what we’re struggling with privately to what others show publicly and end up measuring ourselves by timelines that were never real to begin with. When you see only the surface of others’ success, it’s easy to believe you’re behind when in reality, you’re simply on a different path. Jay reframes what “behind” really means. There is no universal schedule for success, fulfillment, or clarity. Most people don’t find their direction until much later than we’re led to believe, and emotional maturity, financial stability, and creative breakthroughs often arrive in midlife, not early adulthood. The pressure you feel isn’t proof of failure, it’s often the result of unrealistic expectations you set when you didn’t yet know who you’d become. Feeling lost, especially in your twenties and thirties, isn’t a flaw, it’s part of being human. In this episode, you'll learn: How to Stop Feeling Behind in Life How to Break Free from Comparison How to Build Confidence in Your Own Season How to Let Go of Outdated Success Timelines How to Turn Invisible Growth into Strength How to Move Forward Without Rushing Decisions Life isn’t asking you to move faster, it’s asking you to move honestly. Trust the season you’re in, honor the lessons it’s teaching you, and keep showing up with consistency and self-belief. Acts 8:1-40 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - We think so much about the missionary journeys of Paul, but did you know that Philip had some missionary journeys as well? Acts 8 talks about some of the gospel work this faithful deacon and evangelist was involved in. He preached to crowds in Samaria, and many came to Christ. But he also shared the good news with individuals like the Ethiopian eunuch. This weekend we'll learn about God's providence, his love, and his New Covenant community composed of people from every kindred, tribe, tongue, and nation. May all the peoples praise his name.
On This Week at Charlestown Road, Jason and Roger revisit Sunday morning's sermon, The Ins and Outs of Discipleship, digging deeper into the importance of making sure our insides match our outsides.

You have been FIRST-LOVED by God. That is, God is love and has chosen to share his great love with you. We are over-shadowed by it. We are humbled, awed, grateful and worshipful on the INSIDE.Today's passage wants us to do something with our OUTSIDES too. Go love the brotherhood and so demonstrate the warm fuzzies that are on your INSIDE. Because God FIRST-LOVED you, go and second-love the sisterhood in a similar way. Because of God's MEGA-love, we are to share it in our inadequate, MICRO-love way. We have been FIRST-LOVED, so go love the KNUCKLEHOOD.Bewithme.us. Please SHARE.

Welcome back to The Truth About Addiction (and living sober.) Today's guest is a sober friend and professional mastermind named Devon Craig. Early into sobriety, Devon's career took off and gave her a life on the outside that culture and years of conditioning tells us we all want. Despite lots of accolades and financial successes, her intuition told her when things weren't right. She continued to pivot and trusted that she would land on her feet. One decision at a time, her recovery proved strong enough to remind her that success doesn't mean much if we are exhausted, lonely and empty inside. Her career story is a beautiful testament to how critical it is to work a 12 step program in all areas of our lives (sober or not!) so that we stay true to what really matters-love, connection and a deep sense of belonging.Check out her bio below!Devon Craig is a purpose-fueled marketer dedicated to creating experiences that educate and deepen the connection between consumers and the way they consume. Devon's formative years with lululemon provided her with an incredible foundation that has inspired her work both in-house and in-agency for brands including Commune, OWN, Spotify, Roc Nation, Live Nation, The Caterpillar Foundation, Refinery29, Well + Good, Wanderlust, Adidas, Ford, and Tidal. Though Devon's professional expertise lies in marketing, digital innovation, and product growth, her personal mission is to deconstruct our perceived sense of separateness to enable people to come together around common values and a shared sense of humanity. Devon's commitment to cultivating impact that elicits change has manifested in her deep passion for storytelling, team building, and an unyielding commitment to Diversity, Inclusion + Belonging (DIBs).#thetruthaboutaddiction#sobriety#the12steps#recovery#therapy#mentalhealth#podcasts
Dedicated by the Sputz family in honor of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Sputz on the occasion of his birthday, for a year of berachah and hatzlachah. 16 Teves | Day 28 The Insides and the Outsides The full text of the daily Tanya is available at: Chabad.org/DailyTanya __ Have you ever tried studying Tanya but encountered a language barrier? The issue isn't translating the Hebrew to English, but translating the Tanya terms into language that is resonant and relevant. Words such as “G-dly soul” and “animal soul,” “soul powers” and “soul garments,” “great love” and “worldly love,” etc., etc.—how do they translate into my life and my real struggles in my avodas Hashem? If you relate to this challenge, Let's Talk Tanya. Rabbi Naftali Silberberg, an acclaimed scholar and teacher who has been teaching Tanya to diverse audiences for more than twenty years, is launching Let's Talk Tanya, a brand new daily Tanya series. Available in both audio and video, every day's segment, approximately five minutes long, will convey the basic idea of the day's Tanya and will zoom in on one large idea contained in that day's study. Tanya is the owner's manual for the person who seeks to serve Hashem and live a life filled with holiness and purpose. Give yourself the gift of fluency in this remarkable sefer. Hey there! Welcome to A Team Podcast. Glad you're here.Since you're here, it's very likely that you, or someone you know, has been searching for information about autism in adults. You've come to the right place. This podcast is all about authentic conversations about being an adult AND being autistic. We're out and proud, and you should be, too. We hope that hearing us talk and laugh (we laugh a lot) and occasionally cry (emotions overwhelm us) will make you feel nothing but positivity about life for autistic people. We call ourselves the A Team for a reason, and we're happy to have you join us. We're re-running our very first recorded conversation because we think it's an important one. Our two founders, Rafael and Robert, explore what it means to them to have learned as adults that they are autistic. We've heard from hundreds of people that this conversation helped them feel, for the first time, that an autism diagnosis was not necessarily a bad thing. In this conversation, we discuss life before and after getting diagnosed, Imposter Syndrome, masking to get along, the history of autism diagnosis, and how having a diagnosis leads to having more understanding and support. If you want more information about the topics we discuss, check out your podcaster's description of this episode for links. And check out the chapter markers to find things that may be important to you. Thanks for listening. This lesson will help every human on the planet: don't compare your insides to someone else's outsides. I'm actually not sure where I heard this (I didn't make it up!), but this is a fundamental coaching principle that will help you feel better today. This shows up as feeling pain when we think coworker's schedule is easier, sister is a better mom, or our friend has a better coaching business. Human brains compare All.The.Time. It really isn't a problem UNTIL we make it mean that we are doing life wrong, we are lazy, and we'll never succeed. In this podcast, we flip the script on all of this. We START with this powerful question: What if your brain is RIGHT? What if you do deserve a better schedule, more money, and a bigger practice? If we can drop the despair, we can maintain curiosity about how to get exactly what we deserve. Folks, this episode is pure

Julie and Casey chat with Elsa Isaac, stylist extraordinaire for entrepreneurial women, about what we wear and why it matters. Along the way, they dive into what is “appropriate”, changing bodies and finding ways to make your authenticity more visible. TOP TAKEAWAYS: No one can give you style or do you better than you do, but a stylist can observe, notice, and collate patterns and help you put it all together. Your body language actually shifts when you wear something you feel good in. It doesn't matter if something is “In” or not. If it doesn't make you feel good, it's not gonna work. People change, needs change, and BODIES change and that is normal! Transformation is expected as we grow. The more time you spend wishing to be different, the more time you're stealing from the work you're supposed to be putting out into the world. Mini-lesson: POLISH! Go deep and deal with your crap
This weeks episode is all about wandering around outside and trying to get inside. The Nearlies find a very interesting looking tree that a wizard is probably living in, that they would also very much like to get into for reasons of curiosity (and possible larceny, Val we are looking at you.) But to get there, having burned some bridges with the line of aspiring heroes, they find themselves needing to cross through a second line of heroes… each a lone wolf, each wearing black, each with a long, tragic, and kind of self indulgent, but undeniably badass back story that they would love to tell you all about. Gwendylyn Evangaline Cloot might become Gothdylyn of the Black Parade, take a listen and see if we can get her back. Suffragists fought hard for the vote. They also knew that gaining access to the ballot was not the end of the struggle for political representation. This week Amended host Laura Free introduces a special episode from Civics 101, a podcast about how democracy works, to help us understand what a vote really means. The United States is a representative democracy. The idea is that we're a government by the people (we vote officials into office) and for the people (the officials in office are supposed to represent our interests). But Civics 101 hosts Hannah McCarthy and Nick Capodice learn that it's not so straightforward around here. Our guides to American voting are Nazita Lajevardi, author of Outsides at Home, Kim Wehle, author of What You Need to Know About Voting and Why, and Andrea Hailey, CEO of vote.org. Visit amendedpodcast.com for a transcript of this episode and additional resources. Listen to Civic Action: Voting, Part 2 here (or wherever you get your podcasts). Civics 101 Credits: This episode of Civics 101 was produced by Hannah McCarthy with Nick Capodice. The staff includes Jackie Fulton and Felix Poon. Erica Janik is the Executive Producer. Maureen McMurray is the Head of Content Development. Music in this episode by Silicon Transmitter, Patrick Patrikios, Jesse Gallagher, Astron and The Mini Vandals. If you suffer from feeling that you're not enough or don't have enough, this episode may help. Comparing yourself to others is potentially endless - you can always find someone who has it better than you. That means it's almost always a losing battle. This is especially so when we compare our inner life to someone else's outer life. We simply don't know what kind of demons other people are wrestling with! When we do this, it reinforces our sense of inadequacy. Learning to keep the focus on yourself, and comparing yourself to your former self is much more fruitful.★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
Quote of the Week: "Even the sharpest of knives cannot cut if held the wrong way." -- Rachel Wolchin Catchphrase of the Week: "Don't hit the baseball, hit through the baseball." Some people on my Little League team even tried "throwing" the bat at the baseball to "save time getting on base." Guess how well that worked out? Thought of the Week: You need to have enough judgement to know when to be the "drone employee" (follow the steps exactly) and when to be the creative CEO (remove steps or experiment) Seven Motivational Strategies Strategy #1: Four Daily Tasks & Accountability Group: four business related measurable tasks you COMPLETE, and not CONTINUE. Strategy #2: Deadline & Three-Day Window Strategy #3: Minimum Viable Product: what if you had to stop today? (absolute focus on one goal, milestones, and use early profits as motivation to keep going) -- avoid "fake it till you make it" Strategy #4: Do It Better Than "That Idiot Who Doesn't Deserve It" (common enemy) Strategy #5: What's In It For Me (help others with real solutions instead of talking about yourself) Strategy #6: Teach Your Notes, Criteria, Checklists, and Templates (product, membership site, book, blog, podcast) Strategy #7: Don't Compare Your Insides to Their Outsides (keep your own side of the street clean when it comes to: haters, competitors, customers) -- mind your own business, you don't know what happens behind closed doors, what and what "they" are going through. People don't care about your mistakes as much as you think. How do I know? Write down today's date, but 5 years ago. Then try to remember someone you know who embarrassed themselves 5 years ago today. You can't think of one. People won't remember your mistakes or embarrassments either. Bonus: Think about the benefits instead of the difficulties. (i.e. that new car you'll buy instead of your hourly rate)
