Why We Need More Ritual and Less HustleThe Missing Practice in Healing, Manifestation, and Personal GrowthIn this episode, JJ Flizanes explores a powerful question: When was the last time you intentionally paused? Not because you were exhausted, overwhelmed, or forced to stop—but because you consciously chose to reconnect with yourself. In a culture obsessed with productivity, achievement, self-improvement, and constant action, many of us have become disconnected from our bodies, our emotions, our intuition, and our inner wisdom.JJ discusses how hustle culture has infiltrated not only our work lives but also our healing journeys. We read the books, listen to the podcasts, take the courses, and attend the workshops—but often fail to create the space necessary for integration. True transformation doesn't happen through accumulating more information. It happens when we slow down enough to embody what we've learned.Drawing on themes from recent conversations about mental health, spiritual awakening, nervous system regulation, and emotional healing, JJ shares why intentional rituals may be one of the most overlooked tools for creating lasting change. Rituals create predictability, safety, reflection, and regulation. They tell the nervous system that it's okay to stop, breathe, and listen.Listeners will also hear the inspiration behind Sacred Rhythms, JJ's new community centered around New Moon Rituals and Full Moon Ceremonies. More than a spiritual practice, these gatherings provide structured opportunities to pause, reflect, create, release, heal, and reconnect with what truly matters. Whether you resonate with moon cycles or simply need a way to step off the hamster wheel of life, this episode offers a compelling case for bringing more ritual and less hustle into your daily experience. In This Episode:Why hustle culture is keeping us disconnectedThe difference between learning and integratingHow nervous system dysregulation fuels burnout and overwhelmWhy rituals exist in every culture throughout historyThe role of intentional pauses in emotional healing and manifestationHow nature teaches us through cycles of growth, release, and renewalThe difference between New Moon creation and Full Moon releaseWhy Sacred Rhythms was created and how it supports transformationKey Takeaways:Healing is not about collecting more information—it's about living what you learn.Manifestation isn't just about creating; it's also about clearing and making space for what's next.Rituals help regulate the nervous system by creating intentional moments of safety, reflection, and presence.Growth, healing, manifestation, and life itself are cyclical—not linear.Memorable Quote:"If we don't pause and take time to assess what we're doing and how we're doing it, we're on autopilot. “Why won't my newborn just sleep properly?” If you've ever found yourself asking that question at 2am while bouncing, feeding, or googling wake windows in desperation, this episode is for you. In this honest and reassuring Baby Bitesize conversation, the host unpacks why newborn sleep feels so unpredictable in the early weeks and what's actually biologically normal. Instead of chasing perfect routines or trying to “fix” sleep, this episode explores how feeding, nervous system regulation, connection, sensory nourishment, and developmental immaturity all shape your baby's sleep in the beginning. Most people are using AI completely wrong—and if you're teaching your expertise through courses, coaching, or memberships, you're sitting on a business model opportunity that most experts are completely missing.I've been having the same conversation over and over lately with course creators, coaches, and membership leaders: How is AI actually impacting our businesses? And here's what I've realized—most of us are approaching AI as a task machine. We're asking it to write captions, summarize emails, draft sequences. And sure, that's useful. But that's like having a world-class chef in your kitchen and only asking them to wash the dishes. In this episode, I'm breaking down the real opportunity: the difference between generic AI and expert-backed AI—and why that distinction could genuinely transform your business model.I walk through three concrete before-and-after examples for course creators, coaches and membership leaders to show you what it actually looks like when you embed your frameworks, your methodologies, and your thinking into AI tools (we call them Bot Squads) that your clients can use, not just learn from. This isn't about becoming an AI teacher. When everything feels off — your energy, mood, sleep, digestion, and weight — it can feel confusing and overwhelming. And for many women, that quickly turns into self-blame.In this episode, Janell Yule walks through what she calls full-system overload — a pattern where multiple systems in the body become dysregulated at the same time. This isn't random. And it's not a lack of discipline. It's often the result of years of accumulated stress, dietary patterns, over-exercising, life events, gut disruption, and hormonal shifts. Over time, the body can move into a state of protection — prioritizing survival over optimization. You'll learn how this pattern shows up, why quick fixes often don't work, and how to begin shifting your approach in a way that supports your body instead of pushing against it.In This Episode You'll Learn:Why feeling like “everything is off” is a real physiological patternHow multiple systems (hormones, gut, nervous system, metabolism) become dysregulated togetherThe cycle of fatigue, crashes, poor sleep, and overwhelmWhy adding more solutions can sometimes make things worseHow to move from self-blame to understanding your bodySimple first steps to begin calming the systemNext Step:Take the Hormone Clarity Quiz:https://www.thetransformationlife.com/hormone-quizIf this episode resonated, make sure you're following the show so we can continue untangling these patterns together. And if you feel comfortable — what has this season of your health been teaching you?
Balancing business growth, family, and leadership is one of the hardest challenges for any provider. In this episode, I break down the tension that many business owners, husbands, and fathers face daily: how to provide for your team, your clients, and your family without burning out.Early on, I was trying to do everything at once answer every message, take every call, and manage every part of the business. In this episode of The Clinical Leadership Podcast, Dr. Alex Earl, DC breaks down one of the most overlooked challenges facing chiropractic students and associate clinicians: understanding what actually needs to be done to responsibly open a clinic. Most chiropractors know that starting a practice involves more than signing a lease and treating patients—but very few have a clear picture of what the full process looks like.In this episode, Dr. Earl simplifies the complexity by introducing the three critical categories every clinic owner must solve before opening their doors:Federal requirementsState requirementsHealthcare and operational requirementsBy organizing the process into these three domains, this episode provides a clear framework for thinking about clinic ownership—and highlights why so many clinicians feel overwhelmed when they try to figure it out on their own.If you're a chiropractic student considering ownership, or an associate chiropractor who knows you're capable of building something of your own, this episode will help you understand the structure behind starting a modern rehab practice.
In this episode of Thriving Parenting, we explore what's really happening when your child's big emotions set off something big in you. From meltdowns at bedtime to public tantrums and sibling fights, these moments can feel overwhelming and deeply personal. But what if your child's behaviour isn't something to fix, it's communication? Drawing on insights from Circle of Security, we unpack why behaviour is a signal, what “shark music” is, and how your nervous system plays a powerful role in shaping your child's emotional development. This is an honest, compassionate conversation about triggers, co-regulation, rupture and repair, and how to stay bigger, stronger, wiser and kind — even when it feels hard.In this episode, you'll learn:Why behaviour is communication, not manipulationWhat your child is really asking for during meltdownsHow “shark music” gets activated inside parentsWhy when emotion goes up, thinking goes down — for both of youThe snow globe metaphor for understanding overwhelmWhy regulating yourself first is not selfish, it's essentialPractical ways to pause and reset in triggering momentsThe difference between fixing behaviour and containing emotionWhen and how to teach after the storm has passedWhy security is built in the middle, not through perfection, but through repairThis episode is a reminder that your child's big feelings are not proof you're failing. They're proof your child feels safe enough to fall apart with you. And your power as a parent lives in the pause. If you've ever wondered why motherhood feels harder than the things you once excelled at, this episode will remind you that you're not failing. Sensitive women feel deeply — and for many, emotional pain can feel overwhelming, unsafe, or impossible to sit with. There's often a fear that if you really let yourself feel it, you'll fall apart and won't be able to recover. In this episode, I unpack why emotional pain feels so intense for sensitive and neurodivergent women — and why this has nothing to do with being fragile or broken. We explore how emotional overwhelm is actually a capacity issue, not a personal flaw, and how many of the ways we've learned to cope with emotion are protective — but ultimately keep us stuck. This is an honest conversation about emotional overwhelm, overthinking, self-judgment, and how learning to stay with yourself during emotional pain can fundamentally change your relationship with your emotions — and with yourself. In This Episode, We Cover:Why sensitive women often fear fully feeling their emotionsThe difference between emotional pain and emotional overwhelmWhy emotional overwhelm is a capacity issue, not fragilityHow we're taught to fix, explain, or numb emotions instead of feeling themWhy intellectualizing emotions leads to overthinking and burnoutCommon patterns sensitive women use to cope with emotional painHow urgency, meaning-making, and self-judgment intensify emotional painThe difference between managing emotional pain and relating to itWhy emotions don't need to be solved in order to moveHow to separate sensation in the body from the story in the mindWhat it actually looks like to “stay with” an emotionWhy emotional processing should feel quiet, boring, and non-dramaticHow emotional capacity grows through presence, not forceA personal water-skiing story that illustrates how emotional capacity is builtKey TakeawayEmotional pain isn't the problem — being alone inside it is. When you learn how to stay with yourself instead of trying to fix, outrun, or explain your emotions, your capacity grows. Sensitivity stops being something you manage and becomes a strength you can trust.Mentioned in This EpisodeEmotional capacity vs. emotional fragilityClean emotional experience vs. emotional overwhelmSeparating sensation from storyInternal companionship and self-trustPresence as the path to emotional confidenceWork With MeIf this episode resonated and you want support applying this work to your real life, I'd love to talk with you.I currently have space...

Dina Cataldo knows what it's like to feel completely overwhelmed by the demands of being a lawyer. As a former criminal prosecutor, she worked long hours, prioritized everything except herself, and thought stress was just part of the job—until she was forced to rethink everything. After a life-changing health diagnosis, Dina began a journey to redefine success and take control of her time, energy, and mindset. Now, as a Master Certified Coach for Lawyers, she helps attorneys do the same. In this episode, Dina shares how lawyers can break free from stress, manage their time more effectively, and build practices that support their lives—not the other way around.Lawyer Side HustlesDina's journey into entrepreneurship didn't start with coaching—it started with tea. Wanting to try something new, she launched a loose-leaf tea business, thinking it would be an exciting way to explore business ownership. But as she learned more about entrepreneurship and business strategy, she realized that selling physical products wasn't where her true passion lay.“I created a business I don't actually like. I don't like having a physical product. I don't necessarily want to be tied down to this model that I currently have and I'm not really energized towards growing this,” shares Dina Cataldo in Episode 183 of You Are a Lawyer.Rather than forcing herself to continue with something that didn't excite her, she pivoted. She applied what she had learned from running a business to a field she was deeply passionate about—coaching. Now, through Be A Better Lawyer Coaching, she teaches attorneys how to work smarter, manage their time more effectively, and build fulfilling careers without burning out. Her experience highlights that side hustles aren't just about extra income—they're a way to experiment, grow, and ultimately find the work that truly lights you up.LISTEN TO LEARNHow to set boundaries, take control of your time, and eliminate overwhelmWhy mindset shifts are the key to breaking free from burnout and stressHow to create a legal career that supports your personal and professional goalsWE ALSO DISCUSSDina's journey from prosecutor to full-time coach for lawyersThe importance of prioritizing yourself—before your career forces you toHow small changes in your routine can transform your productivity and well-beingJoin the FREE mailing list!Get behind-the-scenes content from You Are A Lawyer. 1) Visit www.youarealawyer.com2) Add your email address to the Subscribe pop-up box OR3) Enter your email address on the right side of the screen4) Get emails from me (I won't fill your inbox with junk)!Interact with You Are A LawyerKyla Denanyoh hosts the You Are A Lawyer podcast. You're juggling multiple priorities, deadlines are looming, and your emotions are running wild. It's easy to feel stuck in a whirlwind of chaos. You are overwhelmed. But is this emotional or practical overwhelm? They are different, and the tactics to deal with them are also different. Emotional overwhelm occurs when you feel overloaded or unable to cope with the intensity of your feelings. Common signs of emotional overwhelm include feeling anxious, stressed, frustrated. Sometimes, emotional overwhelm emerges when you're avoiding something big in your life. It could be a difficult conversation. It could be a crucial change. But it cannot be fixed with just a bubble bath. Practical overwhelm, on the other hand, signals a gap between your tasks and your resources. You have too much to handle or manage within the available time or resources. Understanding the distinction between emotional and practical overwhelm can help identify the root causes and find appropriate solutions. And this is what I'll do in our time together. What I mention in this episode:Difference between emotional and practical overwhelm Ways of analyzing emotional overwhelmWhy practical overwhelm is easier to identify (but this is why sometimes we don't do anything to deal with it) What you'll learn from it:How to identify the type of overwhelm you're experiencingHow to discover what you're avoiding in your life if you deal with emotional overwhelmActions you can take to reduce practical overwhelmImportance of establishing minimal acceptable standardsI hope you can extract a golden nugget from this episode to handle overwhelm with compassion and love. xo, KavethaPS- It's one thing to know what brings you joy and how to access those moments, and it's another thing to be present while you're actually engaging in those situations. Today we welcome author coach and marketing mentor Kelly Weekes to the podcast. We talk about:Ways to reframe comparisonitisHow to tackle overwhelmWhy it's important for authors to prioritise self-careHow to deal with rejection and criticismAbout Kelly WeekesKelly has been involved with books and publishing for almost her whole working life from when she first started out as a bookseller through to senior marketing roles at HarperCollins and Hodder&Stoughton where she oversaw the marketing across the adult list. She has worked with household brand name authors like Stephen King and Jodi Picoult, launched debut authors and has worked on a broad selection of non-fiction authors.Since starting her own business, Kelly's focus has been to mentor authors (and some book related organisations) through the process of marketing themselves and their books.Being an author presents all sorts of mindset and confidence challenges that Kelly became more and more aware of through her marketing work with authors. Common challenges are a fear of being visible, how to handle rejection and comparisonitis, lack of self belief, loss of confidence, overwhelm, burnout and procrastination.Through working with a coach herself for a number of years, Kelly recognised the power of coaching to transform people's performance through working with their mindset. She wanted to take the power of coaching and use it to support authors.Last year she became an accredited coach (Institute of leadership and Management) and now works with her coaching clients to help them past any challenges they face in their author careers. Her real passion is helping existing authors who have been writing and published for a while, but have fallen out of love with their careers for whatever reason and are feeling really negative, reignite their passion for their writing again and to move forward. Nothing beats the satisfaction of seeing an author client who has been feeling burnout and overwhelmed, or has stopped writing altogether, start writing again with ease and positivity.Kelly has delivered workshops and talks on marketing and mindset for organisations like The Independent Publishers Guild, The London Writers Cafe, Byte the Book, The Novelry and Bookmachine. She is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Development. When she is not working, or has her head in a book, Kelly is often running around after her young sons. In the last year she has also started Kickboxing and has fallen in love with sea swimming, managing to swim almost every week throughout the winter.Key TakeawaysPressure on ourselves is constraining for our creativityIf you're suffering from comparisonitis think about what is triggering you. There's often a message there. Flip it to show you what's possible for you too.The time you spend worrying about what other people are doing is a wasteDealing with criticism - Know from the outset that not everyone is going to like you and that's OKIt's important to take negative reviews with a pinch of saltQuoteIf we don't have self-belief and confidence it's hard to put ourselves out there and be visible and talk about our books and projectsConnect with Kelly WeekesWebsiteInstagramCreating Confident Authors Facebook GroupConnect with Victoria BennionBook your free podcast guesting strategy session today. To learn more about working with us visit

We've been challenged like never before in being alone or with the same people every day. But, we need other people, to feel OK in everyday life, and to heal.During Covid-19, we may have become very self-reliant, and we may have shut down to some extent, at the same time as craving good contact and connection. It would be natural to be struggling and awkward with social contact now. It's possible that some of us have developed social anxiety after being isolated from others for so long. As such, we may have a natural inclination to stay indoors. In this podcast, I'll talk about how you can understand this, and start to recover.Want to go further?Join my mailing list hereHow To Stop Comfort Eating 6 Week Workshop (limited places)For more support:Contact: shelley_treacher@hotmail.comInfo: www.bristolcounselling.co.ukBlog: Free quick tips and quiz: Are you a comfort eater?Click here for 'Comfort Eating Recovery' Facebook groupClick here for 'Love and Relationship Recovery' Facebook groupCitationsThis week, my citations are from my own media mentions. As we find ourselves recovering from COVID-19, we may still be coming to terms with the impact the virus has had, on both our bodies and minds. None of us has escaped its effects. When we first went into lockdown, many of us were anxious and felt lonely. Those first few weeks were all about calming our nervous systems down from fight or flight. We responded to a very real threat by going into survival mode. But where are we now?In this podcast, I talk about how the pandemic may have affected our nervous systems, the effect of vicarious trauma, and the triggering you may have experienced.Any of these experiences may lead to comfort eating, or using substances to regulate how we feel.
