Recorded September 1, 2024 This week, Nate went to yet another amusement park- one not so dilapidated this time. Then, Ryan talks about a game that seems to have been designed for the venn diagram that is his entire personality. Afterwards, they have a KitKat cereal and a (better than usual) Calpis, only to discuss data backups. Then, they focus their discussion on the social implications of cloning, what makes up a soul, and one woman’s solution for dealing with people she just doesn’t like in their discussion of the book, Six Wakes by Mur Lafferty. If you're looking for a book that's wholesome, hilarious, real, authentic and based on finding love, this week's episode is definitely for you. On the show today, I'm joined by Tasneem Abdur-Rashid, author of the newly published Thirty Before Thirty List, and her debut, Finding Mr. Perfectly Fine. Tasneem is dedicated to tell authentic stories of British Bengali, Muslim characters as they navigate life and love, presenting the complexities, beauties and challenges that life throws at 20-something year old women trying to build the life they want. I loved the Thirty Before Thirty List, and I laughed my way through, finding such affinity with Maya and all the other characters. Tasneem Abdur-Rashid is a British Bengali writer born and raised in London. A mother of two, Tasneem has worked across media, PR and communications both in the UK and in the UAE. Tasneem's rom-com Finding Mr Perfectly Fine was published by Zaffre/Bonnier in July 2022 and The Thirty Before Thirty List was released in July 2024. She co-hosts the award-winning podcast Not Another Mum Pod and is also a phenomenal home cook.Support the show

The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1 3:05pm- During a chaotic White House press briefing on Monday, reporters grilled Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre over a report that a Parkinson's disease specialist has visited the White House multiple times in recent months. Tuesday's presser didn't go much better. Jean Pierre blamed Biden's poor debate performance on a cold and emphasized it was not the result of a neurological disorder. She went on to explain that the president immediately visited North Carolina, Georgia, New York, and New Jersey—illustrating his strength. So, was he just spreading his germs to potential voters? Despite spending a considerable amount of time attempting to claim President Biden is in perfect health, Jean Pierre was unable to provide a reasonable explanation as to why a Parkinson's doctor has visited the White House so frequently. Is the White House participating in a massive cover-up? 3:25pm- In a new piece documenting White House aides hiding President Joe Biden's diminishing health from the public, the Wall Street Journal writes of one previously undocumented incident: “German officials, aware of Biden's fatigue at night, sought to accommodate the president by planning a June 2022 event with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the early evening. The informal event, a soiree at the Alpine resort Schloss Elmau during the Group of Seven summit, was arranged as a confidential meeting on Ukraine in a relaxed setting. Biden didn't show, surprising the chancellor and his aides, officials said. Instead, Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived and announced that Biden had to go to bed, according to two people who were there.” You can read the full article here: https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/joe-biden-age-public-election-campaign-343a47bf?mod=hp_lead_pos7 3:30pm- During Tuesday's press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre claimed that “if I have said, or misled in something that I have said—or I haven't had the full information, I actually own up to it.” But as Rich notes, she has participated in weeks and weeks of gaslighting—amounting to a cover-up. 3:45pm- At one point during Tuesday's White House press conference, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked: “Say the Pentagon, at some point, picks up an incoming nuke—it's 11pm. Who do you call? The First Lady?”

Hello Mr. Perfectly Fine listeners of this podcast! Settle in as we start this episode off with a promised discussion of the rap battle between Kendrick and Drake. It's Taylor-related, after all! Both of us unplannedly deviate away from "Pop Girl Spring" and choose two male singers for our New Shit segment. We dive into the Swift of the week, a Fearless (Taylor's Version) vault track that is most certainly not *not* a bop. The song is fun, witty, and a wee bit angry. A classic formula that makes for the perfect Taylor Swift song! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/swift-and-swigs-with-sibs/message

In a revolving door of coaches coming to the Baylor staff this off-season, offensive line coach Mason Miller provided a sense of optimism with his background in Air Raid offenses. Miller recently said he hasn't wacthed any film from last year, but with his different offense, a clean slate might be just what they need. Zach Edey has finally led Purdue to the Final Four, but he was oh so close to doing the same with Baylor. Did Waco's climate actually lose out to...Indiana's? That an actor and a musician would be divorcing isn't really news, but in the case of Jonas Brothers frontman Joe Jonas and his recently filed divorce from wife of four years, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, a dumb PR move turned it into a huge story. It's been a big summer for many players around Steve Clarke's Scotland scene. Some players are just fine where they are - John McGinn, Callum McGregor, Aaron Hickey etc - but some of the lads are face to face with uncertainty; Scott McTominay, Che Adams and Kieran Tierney to name a few. Some players have moved on... Jack Hendry is off to Saudi Arabia and Jacob Brown is in the Premier League with Luton, but the uncertainty is - certainly - the club level talking point with the country looking to top the qualifying group over the next four games. What I love most about Extreme Kids is the emotional space we are given to be ourselves. This is a story I recently shared on my Atypical Kids, Mindful Parents Blog, in 3 parts: 1. How My Neurodiverse Family Found a Space Where We Could Be Ourselves 2. Why a "Perfectly Fine" Coat Can Be Torture if You Have Sensory Aversions 3. A Safe Space for Every Kid to Play Freely Without Judgment or Stares We hear the glee and upset in dozens of voices, the trampoline squeaking and the ball pit rustling. We see primary colors, swinging swings, and bouncing children. A random soft ball glances off us as we play. We spin on a tire hanging from the ceiling. We land on giant beanbags. Crawl through tunnels. Spin in, pop out of, or hide inside multi-colored foam barrels. Somehow we aren't overwhelmed, overstimulated, or overtired. For us it's an indoor paradise. But the physical space is not what I love most. It's the emotional space we are given to be ourselves. It is also what is absent: dirty looks, unwanted advice, and misunderstanding... Now, I know it's a trusting relationship that matters. The kind of acceptance we learned at Extreme Kids. I can't know who we would be as a family without this community, because we were lucky enough to grow up within it. I do know how lonely I felt before I found it. Who cares if Ocean wears elastic waist pants to his own wedding? I just want him to love and be loved. Now, I believe that it will happen. How can you be perfectly fine with cancer? If you have ever had the big “C” diagnosis, the words perfectly fine don't readily come to mind! Deb Krier had to work emotionally through her initial diagnosis of Stage 0 cancer that moved to Stage 4 triple positive breast cancer. She is now a coalition builder and warrior who is rewriting the playbook on how to live with cancer. Even after catastrophic complications from her first chemotherapy treatment, she maintained her sense of humor and continued to work. In fact, her work expanded and intensified with a renewed purpose. Like many who move through difficult experiences, Krier expanded her coaching business with a mission to ensure we are no longer just perfectly fine with cancer. Providing educational materials and support to those on similar journeys has now become her passion. What Krier did with her Cancer diagnosis is a beautiful example of how one can use a situation in life, whether good or bad, to propel one to action in an area that would normally not be pursued. The perfect time for this is at mid-career or the halftime of life. Deb was able to get beyond her fear and physical setbacks to move forward. She had both the skills and the passion that uniquely equipped her to help others. She does this through her website, TryingNotToDie.live (https://tryingnottodie.live/) which came out of her passion to help others live, not die. In this episode, I talk to the lovely Tasneem Abdur-Rashid about her debut novel, Finding Mr. Perfectly Fine. We talk about the struggles of modern dating for young Muslims, finding love, writing and the stories we wish we had while growing up. Tasneem Abdur-Rashid is a British Bengali writer born and raised in London. A mother of two, Tasneem has worked across media, PR and communications both in the UK and in the UAE. Today, Tasneem spends her days writing novels and her nights co-hosting the award-winning podcast Not Another Mum Pod – and in between, she's busy trying (and often failing) to be super mum, super wife and super chef. Having recently completed a Master's in Creative Writing with distinction, Tasneem's debut rom-com Finding Mr Perfectly Fine was published by Zaffre/Bonnier in July 2022.Support the show
When we were new agents, we were hungry, motivated and willing to take massive action to succeed. Over time, this excitement and drive turned into complacency, and now that the market has shifted, it's easy to feel like we don't have what it takes to thrive. Here's the good news: you've already come this far in real estate so you're well equipped for a market shift. If we would just treat this market like we did our very first market, we would meet and even exceed our goals while other agents are experiencing breakdown. What does a day 1 mentality look like, and how do we make it our default state of being? In this episode, we talk about how to approach a changing market. If you just treat this market like you did your first market, you'll be fine. You already know what to do - you don't lack knowing how. You have to stand up, take massive action on what you already know how to do. -Greg Harrelson Three Things You'll Learn In This Episode The danger of denial Before we even think of our approach to a new market how do we come to terms with the shift? Why new agents do well How do we readjust our attitude, approach and expectations back to a day 1 mentality? The difference between lead generation strategies Why is it so important to shift our understanding of lead generation and how to approach it in this market?

The Sorrowvirus: A Faceless Short Story isn't a bad game, but it isn't particularly good either; it rests solely in the middle, falling into a purgatory of its own making as you explore the purgatory of the designer's making. Get it... 'cause it's a game all about purgatory. I played through the game once and dabbled with a second playthrough before hanging my sweater up, taking my shoes off, and calling it a day. It's not that I wasn't enjoying the game--the story is more interesting than expected--but there wasn't enough drawing me in and demanding I keep playing past playthrough number one. The Sorrowvirus is a fine game, but it's never anything more than that and, while that's fine, that doesn't lead to anything other than a forgettable time.
