Wake me up, when the Deadline ends!  The 2016 NHL Trade Deadline was a boring snooze fest and nothing happened, and this didn't upset anybody more than Vancouver Canucks fans. Geeta, Dave, P Mac and Ryan join you this week to calm everyone down after an uneventful trade deadline in Vancouver. Radim Vrbata and and Dan Hamhuis remain Canucks and no deal at all was made by GM Jim Benning. But why not? Paul looks at a conspiracy theory and they look at what is in store for the Canucks in the final month of the regular season. League wide, they look at the Maple Leafs' gutting of the team, the Chicago Blackhawks bulking up to terrifying levels and whether or not that could affect their vibe and their chemistry. It's happened before and could the pieces they added really have that much of an impact? The gang runs down some of their 'winners and losers' from the deadline, who's heading in the right direction and who's struggling to stay afloat. Finally, they present to you, Dougie Hamilton's After Hours interview which may go down as one of the most awkward segments in television history. Enjoy!

A 3rd period comeback with a huge goal from Jake Virtanen, a Daniel Sedin OT winner, a controversy about comments made by Florida Panthers, a bench clearing brawl and one hell of a team building exercise... oh, and not to mention some weird comments by Denis Potvin on everything going on. The gang also talks about an usual Tinder date of Geeta's, talk about what they would do if they won the Powerball and where they would relocate their recently purchased franchises. Finally, they touch on the Emerson Etem trade, if Radim Vrbata will get moved and the unfortunate task of waiving Chris Higgins. They look at the Ryan Johansen/Seth Jones trade and the embarrassing video of the Edmonton Oilers prospects getting shut down by a group of girls on TMZ! Enjoy!

Want to know what's on Brian's shelf? Well, you're in luck: the 126th episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast tells you that, and more! With the "more" being cutting edge and deeply informative fantasy analysis on the most important hockey news of the past week.   Big things are expected from this week's outjuries, as it's October in December for poolies who have Jack Eichel or any of his linemates. How much can he do for them? Same question for high-end forwards returning to boost top sixes in St Louis, Winnipeg, New Jersey, Pitsburgh and Calgary.   In a brand new segment this week, entitled Appendectomies and other Injuries, Elan and Brian discuss whether Scott Darling is the de facto number one on the league's top team while Corey Crawford is out, or whether that title can't possibly be bestowed on Chicago if Crawford's not in their lineup (not to mention Toews). We also mention a couple fallen Stars, and an unheralded Avalanche blueliner who will be dearly missed by his owners for the duration of his injury.   Hot streaks on this edition include a feast-or-famine Oiler who's currently feasting, a Bolt who quietly stepped up in Stamkos's absence, a Senator whose buy low window may now be closed, a shooting and hitting Blue Jacket with a couple recent points to his name, a Bruins D left for dead, a Coyote leading his team in scoring, and a Red Wings rookie riding shotgun with a streaking vet.   Cold streaks include a Dallas d-man, so disempowered players in Montreal, a demoted Coyote, a heretofore PP1 contributor in Columbus, and so many of the Florida Panthers.    Players featured on this episode include Jack Eichel, Alex Steen, Taylor Hall, Conor Sheary, Marc-Andre Fleury, Matt Murray, Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Chad Johnson, Alex Barkov, Corey Crawford, Scott Darling, Roberto Luongo, Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Julius Honka, John Klingberg, Jason Spezza, Erik Johnson, Tyson Barrie, Francois Beauchemin, Leon Draisaitl, Oscar Klefbom, Andrej Sekera, Valtteri Filppula, Jonathan Drouin, Mike Hoffman, Mark Stone, Kyle Turris, Erik Karlsson, Anthony Mantha, Henrik Zetterberg, Max Pacioretty, Brendan Gallagher, Anthony DeAngelo, Brandon Saad, Boone Jenner, Cam Fowler, Sami Vatanen, Sam Gagner, Radim Vrbata, Sam Reinhart, Evander Kane, Rasmus Ristolainen, Nik Ehlers, Blake Wheeler, Vladimir Tarasenko, Kevin Shattenkirk, Colton Parayko, Travis Zajac, Adam Henrique, and more.   This episode was sponsored in part by SeatGeek. Injuries may have decimated Ottawa, and the guys begin by seeing how it may impact the able bodied players who can still take the ice. They also tip their cap to a couple d-men who've swapped an IR spot in Pittsburgh, and consider whether Claude Julien can bring a staggering Habs roster back to life. Then, a hotly anticipated rookie who couldn't impress at this season's outset is back for another kick at the can in Columbus, while teammates around him alternately slump and awaken. Outjuries double as snoozers, as the merits of activating or jettisoning a returning centreman in Dallas and a blueliner in Anaheim are debated, with a healthy but quiet-til-now Panthers defenseman thrown in for good measure. Meanwhile, the debate over whether a certain Ducks forward can maintain a 55+ point pace appears all but settled, and new lines in Anaheim lead to a depth chart search for fantasy value outside of the usual suspects.  In hot streaks, Brian thinks Elan's feeling confident about one Canuck too many. The segment also features a couple Coyotes forwards and defensemen are helpful for as long as they remain in the desert, an entire line reigniting a pretty great even-strength run in Detroit, an assist-happy Blue who Brian prefers as a goal-scorer, a 60+ point scorer starting to maybe look like one again, a doghouse escapee in Boston, Brent freaking Burns, and Elan pining over vintage Zetterberg. Goalies get some time in the spotlight, including thoughts on why the Blues goalies are suddenly keeping the red lamp from being lit, a Philadelphia goalie whose only hot in the category of 'games started', an apparently reliable Western Conference goalie who could be spelling his starter more often, an emerging title change in Florida, and a struggling Isles tender with rough waters ahead. Also, what the heck should you do with a couple struggling Jets as they enter their bye weeks? And which Jet forward should you pick up when they hit the ice again? Players discussed on this episode include Mark Stone, Kris Letang, Bo Horvat, Henrik Zetterberg, Alex Galchenyuk, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Jaden Schwartz, Martin Hanzal, Zach Werenski, Michal Neuvirth, Oscar Klefbom, Jordan Eberle, Thomas Greiss, Aaron Dell, Nikolaj Ehlers, Ryan Spooner, Petr Mrazek, Mike Hoffman, Bobby Ryan, Brad Marchand, Max Pacioretty, Ryan Dzingel, Zack Smith, Curtis Lazar, Erik Karlsson, Craig Anderson, Mike Condon, Justin Schultz, Chris Kunitz, Jake Guentzel, Carl Hagelin, Shea Weber, Jeff Petry, Brendan Gallagher, Carey Price, Brandon Saad, Brandon Dubinsky, Jason Spezza, Patrick Sharp, Sami Vatanen, Radek Faksa, Ryan Getzlaf, Ryan Kesler, Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Brent Burns, Rikard Rakell, Aaron Ekblad, Nick Ritchie, Ondrej Kase, Alex Edler, Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Troy Stecher, Radim Vrbata, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Michael Stone, Alex Goligoski, Tomas Tatar, Anthony Mantha, Jake Allen, Carter Hutton, Steve Mason, Leon Draisaitl, Andrej Sekera, Mark Letestu, Mark Scheifele, Patrick Laine, Mathieu Perreault and more. * * *   Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes!   If you enjoy the show, please support future episodes by becoming a patron of Keeping Karlsson.    Keeping Karlsson patrons can join our patron-only Facebook group and take part in (and receive audio from) a monthly live, face-to-face and interactive Keeping Karlsson recording!   You can also support us by telling a friend, subscribing to and reviewing Keeping Karlsson on iTunes, and following us on Twitter (@keepingkarlsson). Welcome to the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast's sesquicentennial episode! The free agent frenzy has slowed to a trickle, but we are bursting with takes on how player production around the league will be affected. Of course, our analysis goes beyond just the player that has moved-- we go up and down depth charts to scope out roster-wide effects, including the blue lines, top sixes, creases and power-play units in New York, Washington, New Jersey, Dallas, Buffalo, Florida, Detroit, Los Angeles and Toronto, to name a few. The last couple weeks have also seen plenty of address changes for goaltenders, which means a handful of new tandems and new opportunities for goalies to push and be pushed for playing teams. After a two week 'break' that saw us release two bonus episodes, Elan and Brian are back for the first 'regular' episode Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast of the year.   This edition opens with an injury and a rant, as Brian lets the world know what he thinks of 'clean hits' in the wake of Patrik Laine's concussion. The guys go on to pinpoint a few rosters that have been hit particularly hard by the injury bug-- Nashville, Montreal, and Florida-- and assess the absences of a scoring winger that poolies, Kings fans, and maybe even Anze Kopitar would love to have back, as well as a first line forward in the desert who is obviously Martin Hanzal. Outjuries come next, with the guys rueing the return of not just a goalie but a goalie controversy in Philadelphia, lauding a rejuvenated lot of top six forwards (and perhaps another goalie controversy to be imminently reignited) in Tampa Bay, wondering whether there's room for more than one productive blueliner in Pittsburgh, and realizing there's not much new to say about the returns of an injury-prone Blackhawk and Hurricane. A short goalie-centric interlude follows, where the league's newest number one goalie's tier placement is assessed, hope is shared regarding a long-standing tandem situation morphing into a clearer #1/#2 scenario, and hope is dashed by two guys who refuse to run away with the starters' job when given the opportunity. Hot streaks feature an entire line of flaming Flames, a near-entire top six of Wild running wild, and an entire touchdown of Leafs who are making it harder to use the word 'Leafy' as a negative connotation. A surprising scoring leader in Vancouver, not either of the first three blueliners you'd guess in Washington, a couple young Red Wings and a pair of Pups (that's what you call a baby shark) round out the segment. And finally, the show closes with cold streaks, with unsurprising visits to the infamous 3rd line in St Louis, and the higher lines in Colorado.  Players mentioned on this episode include Patrik Laine, Mikael Backlund, Bo Horvat, Michael Frolik, Kevin Fiala, Aaron Ekblad, Tyler Johnson, Victor Hedman, PK Subban, Matthew Tkachuk, Kris Letang, Justin Schultz, Connor Brown, Zach Hyman, Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter, Ryan Strome, Kevin Labanc, Timo Meier, Jacob Trouba, Drew Stafford, Nik Ehlers, Joel Armia, Mark Scheifele, Dustin Byfuglien, Roman Josi, Mattias Ekholm, Ryan Ellis, James Neal, Viktor Arvidsson, Juuse Saros, Pekka Rinne, Tyler Toffoli, Milan Lucic, Jake Muzzin, Alec Martinez, Alex Barkov, Nick Bjugstad, Seth Griffith, Alex Galchenyuk,  Brendan Gallagher, Paul Byron, Philip Danault, Nathan Beaulieu, Martin Hanzal, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Radim Vrbata, Michal Neuvirth, Steve Mason, Nikita Kucherov, Ondrej Palat, Jonathan Drouin, Vladislav Namestnikov, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Ben Bishop, Marian Hossa, Artemi Panarin, Jonathan Toews, Vinny Hinostroza, Justin Faulk, Ty Rattie, Derek Ryan, Victor Rask, Jeff Skinner, Jaroslav Halak, Thomas Greiss, Andrew Ladd, John Gibson, Jonathan Bernier, Brian Elliott, Chad Johnson, Alex Chiasson, Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau, TJ Brodie, Charlie Coyle, Mikael Granlund, Mikko Koivu, Zach Parise, Eric Staal, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, James van Riemsdyk, William Nylander, Jake Gardiner, Morgan Rielly, Dmitry Orlov, Loui Eriksson, Anthony Mantha, Andreas Athanasiou, Alex Steen, Jaden Schwartz, Tyson Barrie, Matt Duchene, Torey Krug, John Klingberg, Jon Carlson and more. Erik Karlsson's engaged, and we hope you are, too, throughout this entire brand new episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast! This episode kicks off with a list of injuries to star players that might just be the kick in the pants their healthy teammates need to finally get going. We pore over the depth charts in Tampa Bay, New Jersey, Calgary and Washington to figure out who might be ready to pick up the slack, with a particular nod to a Devil you know from last season. Elan and Brian then go the other way to outjuries, considering whether the heretofore top line right winger in Dallas might finally get bumped, marveling at an entire top line that is criminally underowned, wondering whether a returning Red Wing offers any hope on a points-poor roster, and more. Finally, the guys run down current hot streaks around the NHL, including the other point man in Montreal, the other winger in Vancouver, the other rookie in Toronto, the other McDavid linemate in Edmonton, the other Anisimov linemate in Chicago, and the other other guys in Winnipeg. And somewhere along the way, they fight about Cam Ward and Jimmy Howard, while remaining reasonably calm on Mike Smith and Connor Hellebuyck. Players featured on this episode include Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Drouin, Taylor Hall, Damon Severson, Michael Cammalleri, Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Sam Bennett, Chad Johnson, Brian Elliott, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Ben Bishop, Mark Giordano, Dougie Hamilton, TJ Oshie, Justin Williams, John Carlson, Andre Burakovsky, Bobby Ryan, Pavel Buchnevitch, Tomas Hertl, JT Miller, Mika Zibanejad, Jimmy Vesey, Chris Kunitz, Patric Hornqvist, Kevin Labanc, Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, Logan Couture, Patrick Sharp, Patrick Eaves, Jason Spezza, Antoine Roussel, Martin Hanzal, Radim Vrbata, Max Domi, Matt Niskanen, Mike Smith, Louis Domingue, Thomas Vanek, Henrik Zetterberg, Dylan Larkin, Jimmy Howard, Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson, Petr Mrazek, Cam Ward, Andrei Markov, Victor Rask, Teuvo Teravainen, Brandon Sutter, Troy Stecher, James van Riemsdyk, Mitch Marner, Tyler Bozak, Morgan Rielly, Marian Hossa, Artem Anisimov, Jesse Puljujarvi, Milan Lucic, Patrick Maroon, Jordan Eberle, Marko Dano, Nic Petan, Connor Hellebuyck, and more. This episode was sponsored in part by DRAFT! It's a super fun and simple daily fantasy app where you build your team through a snake draft with your opponent, and then compete through the night's or week's games. Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast

Too early for a holiday-related episode title? This brand new episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast makes no apologies!  This week's edition kicks off with injuries, where we pause to consider how the Montreal Canadiens put up a ten-spot without two of their top three centremen, as well as how anything good can happen in Arizona with a key component of their first line gone for a while. And yes, Martin Hanzal is healthy.. There's much more happening in outjuries, where we've got a Predator and Senator goal-scorers whose gamelogs aren't all that dissimilar to when they were injured, a reliable top-sixer getting his spot back in Washington, and a masked Red Wing who'll be looking to regain the pre-injury form that had eluded him for a long, long, long, long while. Speaking of goalies, weirdness continues to pervade keeper numbers and performances and tandems around the league, with a sudden extended rest for a legendary Ranger tendy, an apparent attempt at a tandem in Colorado, a turn away from a heretofore #1 in Winnipeg, and Cory Schneider doing his best Cam Ward impression. Cold streaks this week sweep through an entire Metropolitan squad, key components of an Atlantic team, a couple guys named Zach, and a usually reliable King. Hot streaks include a guy Brian called a snoozer last week, a guy Elan called a snoozer last week, a still kind of hopeless buy maybe not Cap, a Cap tease, as well as a less hopeless Cap, a Blue and an Oiler who find themselves this week's beneficiaries of their teams' usual line shuffling, a bunch of Islanders(!?), a former Isle, and two Penguins d-men who Brian will again tell you not to rush to pick up. Players featured on this episode include Alex Galchenyuk, Tomas Plekanec, Antti Raanta, Henrik Lundqvist, Max Domi, James Neal, Filip Forsberg, Viktor Arvidsson, TJ Oshie, Evgeni Kuznetsov, John Carlson, Bobby Ryan, Petr Mrazek, Jimmy Howard, Marcus Johansson, Radim Vrbata, Tobias Rieder, Anthony DeAngelo, Michael Stone, Mike Smith, Chet Pickard, Semyon Varlamov, Pekka Rinne, Michael Hutchinson, Connor Hellebuyck, Cory Schneider, Keith Kinkaid, Victor Rask, Derek Ryan, Jaccob Slavin, Max Pacioretty, Brendan Gallagher, Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu, Eric Staal, Zach Werenski Andrew Shaw, David Desharnais, Alex Radulov, Paul Byron, Philip Danault, Tyler Toffoli, Sam Gagner, Marian Gaborik, Jonathan Drouin, Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat, Steve Mason, Michal Neuvirth, Robby Fabbri, John Tavares, Josh Bailey, Anders Lee, Frans Nielsen, Justin Schultz, Ian Cole, Drake Caggiula and more. This episode was sponsored in part by SeatGeek. They're all finally here after a long season of waiting, and the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast is here to catch you up on all that you need to know about the first five days of NHL regular season play. Next, they dig into the first week's most tantalizing performances, rolling through a list of the vets, rookies and tweeners who are scoring above a point-per-game pace at this early stage, and making the call on whether they're 'add now!!'s or wait-and-sees.  Elan and Brian then go over a handful of injuries, specifically speculating on what the heck might happen in LA's crease. Is patience a virtue? This week's episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast is all about the players who are are most likely to be testing your tolerance with early-season slumps. Elan and Brian are here to help you decide whether to grant a stay of execution to these heretofore snoozers, or to cut your losses and move on. You've been asking all week for permission to let go of several skaters after watching them struggle to score for ten-plus games. Can a new Islander make more of a dent towards gaining back the 134 points sent out the door in the offseason? Is a young Panther centreman able to produce without his left-hand man? Were we fooled by an early-season surge by a perennial tease in St. Louis? Do two of three triplets deserve to survive on your roster? Will a Calgary forward's stat line continue to be as boring as he is?  The guys also examine the other side of the coin, which features a surprising selection of point-per-game players from around the league. Will several Blue Jackets continue lighting the lamp? Can a trio of Rangers possibly crack fifty points with only third line minutes and no power-play time? Did our earlier haste make waste of an opportunity to ride a Chicago centreman's ten game point streak? Can a Devils' d-man contend for forty points while barely putting any shots on net? All that, and more, on this week's episode! Players featured on this episode include Sergei Bobrovsky, Steve Mason, Aleksander Barkov, Jaromir Jagr, Colton Sceviour, Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson, Paul Stastny, Jaden Schwartz, Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau, Michael Frolik, Derek Stepan, Poor Torey Krug, Andrew Ladd, Leon Draisaitl, Loui Eriksson, Radim Vrbata, Semyon Varlamov, Calvin Pickard, Jake Allen, Alexander Wennberg, Nick Foligno, Zach Werenski, Damon Severson, Yohann Auvitu, Artem Anisimov, Marian Hossa, JT Miller, Kevin Hayes, Michael Grabner, Marcus Johansson, Rickard Rakell, Dennis Seidenberg,, Alec Martinez, Jake Muzzin, Cal Clutterbuck, Evander Kane, David Backes, David Krejci, Conor Sheary, Niklas Kronwall, Mike Green, Carl Hagelin and more. Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast

As we draw ever nearer to September, the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast knows it's absolutely time for the seeds of draft prep to start being sown.  On this brand new episode, Elan and Brian begin by sifting through the latest hockey headlines for fantasy relevance, including an opening behind the bench in Colorado, a new Duck whose career may be ready to quack, an opportunity in Arizona for a redeemed Vrbata, and the guys that may beat the Wis on the Tampa depth chart. Your co-hosts then spend the rest of the show debating whether or not to bestow the vaunted 'elite'/'1337' tag upon players by virtue of their outstanding performances in 2015-16. Players discussed on this episode include Tyson Barrie, Calvin Pickard, Matt Duchene, Antoine Vermette, Radim Vrbata, James Wisniewski, Connor McDavid, Johnny Gaudreau, Artemi Panarin, Aleksander Barkov, Brian Campbell, Patrick Kane, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Nicklas Backstrom, Brent Burns, Dan Boyle, John Klingberg, Nikita Kucherov and more.
