It is important for veterans' experiential wisdom to, well, not die with them. Passing on the lessons learned - the best practices, the frank admissions, the abject failures - is crucial for both a civilian population that may not otherwise relate AND for the veteran population that does. So it would be a shame not to pick the brain of a man who has operated at the highest levels of the DoD, the most exotic assignments in the USG, and the most adventurous sectors of the private security industry. Dale Comstock is a lot more than the bullet points on his resume. That said, he has a lot of bullet points.Dale served in 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force), 3rd Special Forces Group, and in the 82nd Airborne Division 325th Infantry. He also worked 9.5 years as a paramilitary operative for USG and concurrently worked as a contract security specialist, COO, Vice President, and President for various security companies applying his skills and knowledge on a myriad of security challenges around the world. In September 2011 Dale was featured on Discovery Channel's “One Man Army,” and in September 2012 he was featured on NBC's “Stars Earn Stripes” alongside Terry Crews.Dale is very forthright about his own operating system - what has helped propel his career, his health, his accomplishments and, ultimately, his freedom in life. For all of Dale's successes in the military, contracting, business, and coaching, there are the struggles - the marriages, the single parenting, the supervision of civilian contract security employees. From turning down a life of guaranteed comfort to abandoning Hollywood, I think Dale's life is full of lessons that are more than interesting, they are relevant.Follow Dale here.Buy Dale's autobiography, American Badass here.

Check out this Archive Special featuring Chuck and Mark's interview with Dean Cain. Dean has more in common with Chuck than he was aware of. Dean is very intelligent individual and his viewpoints on issues have only be solidified with time. The show details continue below. Dean Cain is an actor, writer, producer, father and one of the rare Conservatives in Hollywood. On the podcast, he talks about many of his conservative viewpoints, including the need for term limits in Congress; there was never supposed to be a political class in this country. They consider the media's constant attacking of Trump and how it's also indicative of how much he's shaking up the Washington establishment. Chuck and Dean talk about living in California, where it can seem like a conservative vote gets lost, and how politics can affect a Hollywood career. Dean's recent project, Architects of Denial, is a documentary about the Armenian genocide, and they touch on the history. For more information about the film, visit http://www.architectsofdenial.com/. Also on the episode, Mark and Chuck talk about the media's dissemination of the phony dossier on Trump and the cease and desist letter Tony Podesta sent Tucker Carlson to keep him from talking about his scandal. Mark also predicts what he thinks Jeff Sessions will do after recusing himself from the Russia investigation. More about Dean: Dean Cain grew up in Malibu, CA and made his feature film debut in 1984 in the critically acclaimed film, The Stone Boy, which also starred Robert Duvall and Glenn Close. An athlete at heart, he next attended Princeton University where he earned his degree in History, and became an All-American defensive back, setting two NCAA records for interceptions. He signed with the Buffalo Bills, but a knee injury quickly ended his NFL career before it began. Dean returned to acting, and is perhaps best known for his role as Superman on ABC's LOIS & CLARK, the popular ABC series that averaged 15 million viewers during its run. Dean recently wrapped the 3rd season of VH1's hit series, HIT THE FLOOR, recurs on the hit CW series, SUPERGIRL, and is hosting the fourth season of the CW smash hit, MASTERS OF ILLUSION. Dean next stars in the feature film, GOSNELL, and the short film, STATE OF WARD, and is often seen co-hosting the TODAY SHOW, ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, and is a frequent guest on FOX NEWS' OUTNUMBERED on FOX AND FRIENDS. Dean has starred in over 100 films, including the cop dramedy, Best Men, with Drew Barrymore and Luke Wilson, Flight of Fancy, Dog Boys, Rag and Bone, Christmas Rush, Futuresport co-starring Wesley Snipes and Vanessa Williams, as well as the Hallmark Hall of Fame film, The Runaway with Maya Angelou. Cain also spent a season playing Rick on the popular series "Beverly Hills 90210." Dean was seen recurring on the Fox comedy DON'T TRUST THE "B" IN APARTMENT 23 starring Krysten Ritter, the Netfix hit, LADY DYNAMITE, and NBC's competition series, STARS EARN STRIPES, which benefitted the Wounded Warrior Project (partnered with American Sniper, Chris Kyle). His feature credits include THE BROKEN HEARTS CLUB, OUT OF TIME (opposite Denzel Washington), GOD'S NOT DEAD, and VENDETTA. Dean is also well-known for starring in numerous other films, television series and TV movies, including USA Network's THE PERFECT HUSBAND as well as memorable roles on LAS VEGAS, HOPE & FAITH, and CLUBHOUSE. Dean also served as Host of the long-running TBS series RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT! which he also produced.   Follow Dean on Social Media: Twitter: @RealDeanCain Instagram: @deuces1966.

Navy SEAL Brent Gleeson joins us in studio for the podcast, which we livestreamed.  He has a new book out next week, it's called "TakingPoint: A Navy SEAL's 10 Fail-Safe Principles for Leading Through Change."  Be sure to pre-order it.  The book gets into some of the takeaways Brent was able to deliver to the business world, and we hear all about it.  You might remember seeing Gleeson on NBC's "Stars Earn Stripes" as a veteran cast member alongside Dale Comstock and the legend Chris Kyle.  Brent also writes a regular column for both Forbes and Inc. that we hope you check out.  We of course also get into Brent's combat deployment history, getting into the SEALs pre-9/11, and the chaos the ensued.   I also feel it's important to mention that recent guest of the podcast, Lt. Jim Downing, has passed away.  At the time when we interviewed him, Downing was the second oldest living Pearl Harbor survivor.  Feel free to re-live Jim's story from Episode 246.  What a true hero and a patriot.  I know that he will be revered by both myself and this audience.
