In this episode, hosts Jeff Bauder and Scott MacLeod catch up on early-season golf plans, including Jeff's recent visit to the grand opening of Archies Golf TopTracer Range. They also follow up on the heavy listener response to their previous golf etiquette segment, debating whether the responsibility for player education falls on local associations, courses, or peers. The Front Nine shifts focus to local competition with a full recap of the 14th Flagstick Open Amateur Championship presented by TaylorMade Canada & Levelwear. The hosts break down the tournament conditions, player responses, and the course's most critical stretches—including the daunting "Rideau Triangle." Ultimately, Brendan Kuffner of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club captured the title with a stellar 66-70 (-8) performance, holding off runner-up Hudson Turcotte by two strokes. On the Back Nine, the conversation heads to Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania for a breakdown of the 2026 PGA Championship. The hosts recap a historic major finish where England's Aaron Rai shot a brilliant, bogey-free 65 on Sunday—highlighted by a massive 68-foot birdie putt on the 17th—to secure a three-shot victory and his first Wanamaker Trophy. They review the leaderboard push from chasers like Jon Rahm, Alex Smalley, and Justin Thomas, while noting the brutal course conditions that caused pre-tournament favorites like Bryson DeChambeau and Viktor Hovland to miss the cut. Finally, the guys wrap up the show with an inside look at Flagstick's highly anticipated return to physical print, discussing the logistics behind the process and when readers can expect to grab a copy. The nicest man in golf, de 290-1 outsider, mister two gloves, nam op Aron-imink de loodzware Wanamaker Trophy in ontvangst. Gewoon. Zonder drama. Weinig emotie.
Aaron Rai just shocked the golf world — but was it really a shock? At the 2026 PGA Championship, a 290-1 long shot stepped onto one of the most crowded leaderboards in major championship history and did something most players never figure out: he turned down the volume. While Rory McIlroy chased history, Jon Rahm lurked, and a packed field jostled for position at Aronimink, Aaron Rai went quietly to work — and thundered to a three-shot victory, becoming the first Englishman to win the Wanamaker Trophy in over a century. This week, we break down the one skill separating the player who cracks under pressure from the one who cashes in on it: quieting the noise. From Rai's "quiet eye" putting technique to his iron covers rooted in a father's love, to his total indifference to what tour players are "supposed" to do — Rai's win is a masterclass in what happens when you Own Your SSWING so completely that the external chaos simply can't compete.Whether you're facing a packed leaderboard, a crowded market, or a moment that feels too big — this episode is your blueprint for finding stillness in the storm and turning it into something thunderous.Shop the new G'day Golfers hat

Well we've got a couple of names we fancy to end that drought - but there's a couple of solid Americans they will need to stave off first. Elsewhere, there was an emotional victory on the PGA Tour, while LIV Golf provided a rather entertaining Sunday. Let's go!

The PGA Tour rolls onto the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial, where Alex expects one of the many Texas locals to claim the top prize (18:06). In Tuned In, Michael finally watched Spider Man: No Way Home and shares his review of the latest Spidey flick, while Alex is watching Foul Ball Guy Zach Hample on YouTube (19:37). This week's guests are the founders of Mullie Golf, an innovative app that allows golfers to find, buy, and sell vintage golf gear. Alex is praying the Celtics claim the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals after a poor start to the Heat (50:02). As the guys #AlwaysEndWithFood, Alex questions his sanity with frozen pizza, while Michael is a hero (50:48).

We talk about the course, some key players we’ll be watching as well as make our picks for who will bring home the historic Wanamaker Trophy. Before doing so, we also preview the LPGA Tour season, which was just resuming as we recorded this episode. We get into some of the tournaments and changes to the schedule you can expect to see this year, as well as catch up on where some of the Canadian stars sit. Even more exciting than any of that, we are pleased to introduce a brand new segment to the show: The 19th Hole. This segment aims to dive into some of the culture that is often associated with golf, specifically beer. In this debut episode, we sit down with Curtis, the resident golf expert from Town Brewery to talk all about the burgeoning young craft brewery right in our backyard here in Whitby, Ontario. We talk a bit about Town’s story, its involvement in the local the community and also get into some beer and course “pairings,” from their staples like Square Wheels, to the limited run one-offs, like Absolute Unit or the appropriately named Worm Burner. You can check out Town on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to stay on top of their current offerings and to ensure you don’t miss out on any of their limited releases. You can also place an order directly from their website at townbrewery.ca, or better yet, drop in to their bottle shop next time you’re in Durham and say hi! Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in from Baltusrol to talk to listeners about the 4th major that this year ends in July. Bob said it has been since 1968 that the majors have ended this early. Hasn't been a long time between Stenson's win at the Open Championship until now. Bob talks about the tough course and the hot weather that is ahead for the players on a short notice. Holly said she thinks it favors Phil Mickelson and his game. Bob said that Phil hasn't had a lot of time to mull over the second place in Scotland after playing so well. Holly and Bob talk about Rory McIlroy and other top golfer's chances to hoist the Wanamaker Trophy. Bob picks McIlroy to win. Mike Kern, Philadelphia Daily News, is the next guest who calls in from Baltusrol to talk about the PGA Championship. Dustin Johnson, Rory, Jason Day, and Phil are all playing well and could win. But it's an old time course and has seen a lot of action over the years. Had some big names win there. Holly asks Mike about the Par 4s. Mike said he doesn't believe that any of the Par 4s are "driveable". Mike feels that DJ will be in the mix, Rory, but would love to see Sergio Garcia win a major sometime. Jeff Babineau, Golfweek, calls in to talk about the 4th major of the season already. Jeff talks about Jason Day's press conference and other press conferences. Day is not feeling well. He won in June on the European Tour and follows that win up with the Open Championship win. Todd says that experience and having control of your emotions is key for players to be successful on the Tours. Holly asks Todd about Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia being two of the best players without a major championship. You get double Ryder Cup points at this event and Lee can get a big boost there. You have to look at guys who are playing well right now. Todd feels the top 3 at this time are DJ, Henrik and Sergio. Long time sports writer and bestselling author Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, calls in to wrap up the show talking about USA's win at the UL International and the Women's British Open Championship. Steve feels that Gerina Piller has a good chance to win this week's major even though she hasn't won. He said that Gerina has figured out her putting stroke and that was what was holding her back. Holly asks Steve about the PGA Championship. He feels that oddly enough that Phil Mickelson might be the favorite to win.
