He is a graphic designer, cinematographer and film editor. Jay founded The Wisconsin Paranormal Investigators in 2007 to investigate and research UFOs and Ghosts. Since 2014 he has been on a solo quest searching for The Wisconsin Sasquatch in southeast Wisconsin. In 2019, Jay had produced, filmed, edited and directed his documentary 'Finding Jay' streaming on Amazon Prime and available on Blu ray. GROWING UP: Jay has been interested in the paranormal since he was old enough to hold an interest. Jay was raised on Creature Features back in the early 70's. He just loved "anything" that was supernatural. It wasn't until 1979 when he witnessed something paranormal first hand and saw the most amazing display of a well lit flying object above their house in Lindenhurst, IL. What did his brother, sister and my mom see that night? They could all say it was a UFO, but until this day they still can't explain what we saw. However, it was fascinating to watch these lights move in the night sky over a total of :20 minutes. Throughout Jay’s life he has experienced many encounters that didn’t make sense. Jay experienced a 5 second black-out when he was 10 years old. The black-out didn't only happen to Jay at that time, but also his younger friend he was with at the time. This 5 second black-out was the most bizzare thing he can recall from childhood. How can 2 people share the same black-out? He has witnessed many different unidentified flying objects near his hometown and his current residence over the years. Since 2013, Jay has been investigating The Wisconsin Sasquatch and Dogman. He has had several sightings and has collected over 5 years worth of data. Jay believes that we are not alone in our universe but not alone in the woods. Another race of alien beings? A greater force beyond comprehension? Worm-holes? Time scapes? Parallel universes? About WPI Hunts the Truth 2007-2014 WPI Hunts the Truth was established in March 2007 by Jay Bachochin and his wife Katie due to their love and passion of the paranormal. They were both so intrigued by the paranormal evidence they’ve seen in their lives that they actually took an interest in paranormal investigating as a husband/wife quest in 2006. In later March 2007, they founded The Wisconsin Paranormal Investigators along with the help of some very close friends that shared the similar passion. They all believed there is more to our everyday normal lives. Do ghosts really exist? Is it simply suggestive thought or mass hysteria? They needed to find the answers for themselves. That is how their mission Hunt the Truth was born. In 2014 they combined their organizations abbreviations and mission statement to simplify who they are and what they do. WPI Hunts the Truth researches fringe science, cryptozoology creatures, urban legends, unidentified aerial phenomena, conspiracy theories and the ghost phenomena. Beginning in 2007 they’ve had numerous investigations requested by home and business owners claiming to be experiencing paranormal activity. While they have conducted many private investigations, they have also been to notable locations such as Kenosha’s Rhode Opera House, the Illinois State Beach Resort in Winthrop Harbor, and the famous Mansfield, Ohio State Reformatory, which was featured in the film ‘Shawshank Redemption.’ They’ve been featured speakers at local events such as Zombie Con in Milwaukee, Chicago Ghost Con and out-of-state speakers at the PA Bigfoot Camping Adventure. They have been featured on TMJ4 Milwaukee as well as Wisconsin’s Channel 12 News, Darkness Radio with Dave Schrader, Beyond the Edge with Eric Altman, ‘The Hidden Truth?’ documentary, ‘Finding Jay’ documentary 5/19 and featured in the book "Picture Yourself Capturing Ghosts on Film: Step-by-Step Instruction for Documenting the Paranormal with Photography and Video" Most notable is the investigation of a decade long 'unsolved mystery' in 2010. The mystery of several young college men drowning in the Mississippi River accompanied by a documentary called THE HIDDEN TRUTH? Team members come and go in the paranormal field. There has been a forever revolving door of friends that came in and out of WPI. The full team branched off in later 2014 to create their own paranormal team. All that remained was WPI Hunts the Truth original founders Jay and Katie Bachochin. While Katie has taken a back seat from investigations, she still holds her interest. Jay Bachochin is now the solo investigative researcher under the organization he founded: The Wisconsin Paranormal Investigators. He had halted his pursuit in investigating ghosts with a full team and refocused solely on investigating The Beast of Bray Road and The Wisconsin Bigfoot. Katie Cherry was born in Utah and still resides there, though with a nomadically-inclined husband, that’s likely to change before too long. Wherever they live, he’s happy to stick by her side and even supports her in her writing by deepening worldbuilding, helping Katie chase down any elusive words, checking story continuity, and more. While fairly new to the career of being an author, having first published in October 2018, Katie has been writing novels since she was thirteen. In the years leading up to her first foray into writing seriously, fantasy books were devoured at a rate nearly alarming to her teachers, librarians, and others. Soon, she found her supply diminishing far too quickly. Now, she creates more fantasy stories that her younger self would have ached to read! While Katie’s books are family friendly, she doesn’t shy away from having realistic characters with realistic struggles. Themes of depression and anxiety can be found in her main characters, though they certainly don’t let that struggle keep them from accomplishing what they set their minds to! You’ll find a lot of yourself in the characters in Katie’s books, giving you the distinct feeling that YOU are the hero in each adventure. This week we're joined by personal trainer and running coach Amy Rivers. Amy shares her story of growing up in a family with ties to a religious cult, and the ways this shaped her childhood and adolescence. While Katie and Laura could not totally relate to Amy's upbringing, they were able to reference various shows and documentaries they've watched about cults. Great helpers, as always. A fascinating episode, with an amazing guest! Follow Amy: IG: @Chasingg_amyy https://linktr.ee/chasingg_amyy Music: Donaher
Architect, affordable housing expert, and leadership cultivator Katie Swenson joined MASS Design Group early this year, after years at Enterprise Community Partners, where she expanded the Rose Fellowship, bringing design expertise into collaboration with communities. While Katie was a Loeb Fellow at Harvard GSD, she asked: “What role do love and kindness play in urban design?” Love is also at the core of Katie’s two new books (Schiffer Publishing, 2020). In Bohemia: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and Kindness, which Katie wrote following the death of her partner, is also about architecture, history, and home. Design with Love: At Home in America, chronicles the work of the Rose Fellowship, uplifting these collaborations.
While Katie is caring for her brand new baby girl, Evie calls in a familiar Trader Bro, her boyfriend Brian, to help her sample some grilled proteins. But don’t skip this episode just yet, vegans! We’ve got a pleasantly surprising item in store for you too. While Evie and Brian fight off the meat sweats, they also dream of what it must be like on a cruise, suggest some turkey alternatives for Thanksgiving and get Brian one step closer to fulfilling his dream of living Eddie’s Million Dollar Cook-Off.
It’s one of Amazon’s most watched shows, and now The Boys is back for a second season. While Katie and Stevie couldn’t be any more excited, Bethany is reserving her judgement. With more graphic violence and gore than you can shake a stick at, it’s certainly not for the faint hearted.Netflix blasts into space with its ambitious space drama Away, starring Hilary Swank as a conflicted captain on a mission to Mars. The team have mixed reactions to some of the no-gravity scenes, achieved with the help of wires and some super slo-mo acting. One thing they do agree on is that space seems to get better phone reception than all of the WFH locations they’ve so far explored in their own flats. We go back to the roots of a popular Swedish detective in Young Wallander, also on Netflix. While the show doesn’t hold back on the torso shots (proving that lead actor Adam Palsson hasn’t been slacking in the gym), it’s Scandi-crime credentials are slightly less forthcoming. For those that don’t like subtitles though, this English-language interpretation does mean you can skip all the pesky reading and concentrate on the gratuitous upper-body nudity.Meanwhile, Disney’s big blockbuster of the year premieres on their streaming service Disney +. The latest in their long line of action re-makes, Chinese actress Liu Yifei stars in the hard-to-fill lead role. With more attention paid to the original 6th century folk tale than the 1998 cartoon version, Stevie educates everyone when he explains what the name Mushu actually means (Spoiler alert: Mushu the dragon, voiced by Eddie Murphy in the Disney original, isn’t in the remake. There is a phoenix.). While it’s a decent re-telling, everyone wonders if kids will have the stamina to actually sit through the $200m (£150m) epic. And in possibly the craziest film the Backstage gang have ever reviewed, Charlie Kaufman latest movie I’m Thinking Of Ending Things comes to Netflix. Starring a pair of Jessies – Irish actress Jessie Buckley and American actor Jesse Plemons – this genre-confounding movie will keep you on your toes and most likely make you question the meaning of life, the universe and everything…Please do subscribe if you like what you hear and do get in touch using backstage@sky.uk – we love emails!
The reason Jill Devine was able to secure an interview with Dr. Kira Hudson Banks was because of this week’s guest, Katie Mohr. Katie’s sons went to school with Dr. Banks’s sons, which is how Katie and Dr. Banks know one another. Jill and Katie use to work together, which is how they know one another. So, Katie was able to put Jill and Dr. Banks in touch with one another to record an episode on having a conversation with your children about race and racism. Now that all the connections have been explained, let’s move on to Katie’s story. Katie and her husband adopted both of their sons. Their oldest is Latino and their youngest is black. Katie and her husband both grew up with diversity in their lives, so they didn’t think any differently about welcoming children of different races into their home. They knew they would have tough conversations ahead of them, but Katie said they didn’t take into consideration how tough the conversations would be. She has noticed a weird dynamic where many of her white friends are starting to listen to her more about the issues our country is facing with police brutality and racism because they love her boys and her friends don’t feel so far removed from the situation. While Katie welcomes the conversations, she also feels disappointed because this is what black women have been saying all along. The good news, more people are engaging in these tough conversations and want to do more. Katie continues to educate herself by turning to women of color, like Dr. Kira Hudson Banks, and she encourages everyone to do the same. The book she referenced in the podcast is “Roadmap to Reconciliation: Moving Communities Into Unity, Wholeness and Justice” by Brenda Salter McNeil. Katie Lin is a multimedia journalist, campaigner and storyteller, who’s contributed to social justice and environmental contribution projects around the globe for organizations that include Greenpeace and SeaLegacy. In the last decade, she’s worked across digital and traditional media channels, producing stories that engage audiences and drive change at local, national, and international levels.Though Katie has led incredibly high-level campaigns to tackle issues like petroleum development, mining and endangered species, she tells us that some of her favourite stories have a much smaller footprint, and come from the heart. This leads into a discussion about the importance of using our voice to tell the truth, through telling everyday stories. As those privileged to have the access, training, equipment and platform to be heard, it’s critical for journalists to use story to give people a voice, help them be seen and remind them that they belong – they matter. While Katie shares stories of her work in Tibet, the Amazon and SeaLegacy, we explore the concept of citizen journalism as the next big movement – the most powerful way to make change. Through her work, Katie shows us that only by enabling people everywhere to use their inner storyteller to make the world into a place they love, can we create a future that works for all.

Bossed 2 Boss Podcast | Entrepreneur Interviews & Stories from the Business World
In this episode, Miro talks with Katie Wafer owner of Hydrate IV Bar — a collection of Colorado IV therapy spas promoting wellness from within. Her lifelong passion for health and wellness led her to a post-grad career in medical sales, with a particular focus in therapeutic drug monitoring within pain management. When she wasn’t working, she served as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader for two seasons, 11-12 and 12-13. During that time, she traveled to Las Vegas for work conferences often. And, that’s when she was first introduced to IV therapy. At the time, IV therapy in Vegas was mostly used to supplement hangover recovery and the work-hard, play-hard Vegas lifestyle. While Katie admired these places’ ability to maintain Vegas’ signature level of customer service, she knew the concept would do really well in cities like Denver with a deeper focus on health, wellness, alternative medicine, and preventative care. But, it wasn’t until she stumbled upon the perfect set of leather recliners at a Habitat Restore in Denver that she finally made the plunge to open Hydrate IV Bar. Those leather chairs sat in storage while she kept working in medical sales, but during her work travel, she tried IV therapy clinics anywhere she could find them — sampling services in San Diego, Chicago, Scottsdale, New Orleans, the British Virgin Islands, and Australia. Finally in 2016, the leather chairs were pulled out of storage and into Hydrate IV Bar’s first location in Denver’s Bonnie Brae neighborhood, with a menu of services for illness, wellness, recovery, and beauty. Hydrate IV Bar caught on quickly in the Denver market, largely set apart for its ability to provide services in a restorative, spa-like atmosphere while still maintaining the professionalism of a more traditional clinic. Since then, Hydrate IV Bar has opened three more locations in Colorado — in the Highlands, (Denver), in Cherry Creek (Denver) and in Boulder. They’ve been recognized by almost every local news network and publication in the area, from the Denver Post to Denver 7 News. Because of Team Hydrate’s commitment to the communities that they serve, they’ve also garnered several awards including Cherry Creek Chamber’s Business of the Year in 2017 and MindBody visionary award in 2018 and 2019.

In this episode, Teri welcomes Katie Ernst, co-founder of Select a Story, to talk about voice first interactive stories and the release of her Amazon Alexa skill in Canada.Welcome Katie Ernst!Katie Ernst is a lawyer, author, and co-founder of Select a Story, one of the leading companies that produces interactive stories for the voice-first platforms. I was really excited to have her as a guest recently to hear about her perspectives of this growing sector of Alexa skills. We also had a special surprise cameo appearance by a 9 year old girl, who is a fan of Select a Story…. and may or may not be my daughter (just saying’)!Katie’s StoryKatie is an author, who has written 10 “traditional” novels for children. Katie’s introduction to interactive stories began when she first got an Amazon echo, and after trying “The Magic Door” skill, she was inspired and she decided that she had the perfect skill set to start writing interactive stories of her own. While Katie began writing her first interactive story, Cinder/Charming, her husband began the software development. They make a great team and co-founded Select a Story! Some of Katie’s perspectives on Interactive StoriesKatie believes that there is something magical about being able to talk to a device, similar to “Computer” from Star Trek.In her experience, Katie finds it challenging to self-publish traditional books for middle school grades as this age-group tends to have less e-reader devices then older kids. The voice-first revolution makes is easier for authors to self-publish books for middle grades because these stories are more easily accessible by children via their household smart speakers.Katie’s first interactive story is called Cinder/Charming, a 30,000 word, voice-first publication, equivalent to approximately 120-130 pages. This story has 130 different scenes, all completely narrated with sounds effects. The listener makes decisions about the plot as the story progresses, similar to the old “Choose Your Own Adventure” books that I remember reading as a child. Katie has plans to expand the catalogue of stories that can be accessed through the Select a Story skill.Select a Story SkillSelect a Story is a great skill and you can check-out my review here. I suggest you check out the skill too!List of resources mentioned in this episode:Select a StoryKatie Ernst on TwitterReviews of top Alexa Skills in CanadaAlexa in Canada on TwitterPlease leave a review on iTunesShopping on Amazon.ca See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

While Katie and Shea wait for Heather to arrive they discuss potential topics and titles for their podcast.
In this episode, we talk about mental health, suicidality and abortion. If you are triggered, please seek the support of caring people. In Australia, you could call Lifeline on 13 11 14. While Katie was at university, she became pregnant. Having children is something that Katie takes very seriously. It is not something to undertake lightly. Katie carefully considered all her options, thought them through, discussed them with appropriate people, and came to the conclusion that an abortion was the best choice for both her and for the potential life of the foetus. She was simply not the right person, at that time, to raise a child. Katie, a community lawyer and co-host of the Progressive Podcast Australia (https://progressivepodcastaustralia.com), is deeply committed to the values of justice and compassion. In this episode, we talk about how a person who is supportive of early abortion and a person who is opposed to early abortion may, in fact, hold very similar values. In issues that are potentially very polarising, we talk about the importance of seeking a balance of emotions and reasoning, of listening to people who do not share the same beliefs as us, and of acknowledging the truth, or validating, of experiences of people from all perspectives.
