Join us for a bonus episode this month, as we share Keri and Kelly's appearance on Hotter Than Ever, with Erin Keating!SummaryIs entrepreneurship truly a solo journey, or would you rather start a business with a friend? For Dr. Keri Ohlrich and Kelly Guenther, co-founders of the leadership and HR consultancy the Abbracci Group and co-hosts of “The Breakout” podcast, the answer is clear: collaboration is key. Together, they're on a mission to help women and entrepreneurs navigate both professional and personal changes, big and small. Their book, “Whatever the Hell You Want”, is a guide to identifying the “boxes” that confine us, creating a roadmap to break free, and living a life of choice and freedom. Keri and Kelly's story is a powerful testament to the transformative potential of partnership and support. In this episode, Erin, Keri & Kelly dive into themes of change, growth, and the pursuit of personal fulfillment. Hear how taking bold, sometimes daunting steps can help break free from traditional paths and bring about lasting happiness. About Hotter Than EverWomen over forty have started to realize that our fantasy of "having it all" is both a myth and a trap (how many New York Times articles until it's just accepted fact?). We've jammed ourselves into someone else's ideas of success and happiness, and while our lives might look pretty and buttoned up from the outside, there's a rebel inside of us yearning to break free. Hotter Than Ever unearths the unconscious rules that keep us feeling trapped and taking care of everyone other than ourselves. We all have dreams, and fantasies, and grand visions for our lives, and you deserve the chance to make them all come true. Hear from amazing people about how they broke the rules and reshaped their lives for the better. We'll talk about career, ambition, reinvention, relationships, divorce, dating, sex (and more sex), aging, body image and more in a frank, irreverent way that also manages to be deep as f*ck.https://www.hotterthaneverpod.com/About The BreakoutThe Breakout is the hit podcast hosted by human resources and change experts Dr. Keri Ohlrich and Kelly Guenther. “I often say that creativity is rooted in refusal. That you refuse to accept that the world as it is, is just fine as it is, because you recognize that the world as it is can be altered”. Dr. Tasha Golden wants everyone to see the extraordinary power in creativity. Tasha is a behavioral scientist, and a leading expert in how creativity drives transformative change. And she should know. Because before Tasha became a scientist, she was a successful singer and songwriter touring the world, until a shattering case of burnout forced her to change everything. Music had been the only thing she ever wanted to do, and now she needed to reimagine her entire life.In this episode, we learn about how big change is all about creativity, and how Tasha uses the arts to help organizations innovate, grow, and find new ways to solve old problems. She explains how integrating the arts into things like healthcare, and even the judicial system can make a profound impact on everyone's lives. Sometimes big change means reimagining everything, and Tasha is here for it. And so are we. About Dr. GoldenI'm an international speaker and consultant, career singer/songwriter, and PhD scientist. Send us a textIn this illuminating discussion, Michael Bernstein from the Atlanta Journal Constitution reveals practical applications of AI in strategic partnership development. Drawing from his experience at AJC, Bernstein explores how artificial intelligence enhances market analysis, streamlines partnership communications, and drives innovative engagement strategies. The conversation provides actionable insights into leveraging AI for partnership growth while maintaining a human-centric approach to relationship building.Detailed AnalysisThe discussion delves deep into the practical implementation of AI across various partnership development stages. Bernstein outlines several key applications, starting with market analysis and data analytics for identifying potential partnerships and understanding market shifts. He emphasizes AI's role in strategic planning, particularly in modeling expansion strategies and evaluating program feasibility.A compelling example shared involves AJC's partnership with Mercer University, where AI helped craft targeted marketing strategies to boost student engagement. The initiative resulted in innovative approaches, including an iPad giveaway campaign and strategic placement of ads in student newspapers, demonstrating AI's ability to enhance traditional partnership programs. The conversation also explores AI's utility in streamlining day-to-day operations, from automating communication processes to analyzing partnership performance metrics. Bernstein's practical approach focuses on using AI to "make life easier" rather than replacing human judgment, particularly in areas like presentation development and partnership model creation. One notable insight reveals how AI assisted in identifying new partnership channels, such as the HR channel for corporate-wide subscription programs. This led to a successful engagement with the Society of HR Management's Atlanta chapter, accessing over 8,000 HR executives. The discussion concludes with practical examples of AI-driven research for identifying potential partners, including real estate firms for subscription bundling programs, showcasing how AI can open new avenues for partnership growth and customer engagement. Now you can interact with us directly by leaving a voice message at https://www.speakpipe.com/CustomerSuccessPlaybookPlease Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe. “It's very easy to say Gen Z's and millennials are demanding, they're needy, but if you really look at the core of what they want, they're basic human needs that we all want.”There's a generational divide in the work place that Madeline Miller wants to change. Madeline is a career coach who focuses specifically on Gen Z and millennial clients, who she says are entering the workforce with an entirely novel set of challenges.Madeline's clients are in their twenties, and grew up in the age of climate change, sweeping tech innovations, and being educated online during a global pandemic. That all amounts to a brand new kind of instability, so it's no wonder they need a unique type of guidance at work.In this episode, Madeline takes us through those shaky work stories - including her own, in her former life as a very successful but very unsatisfied entertainment lawyer (continuing with our over-representation of guests who were once dissatisfied lawyers…there's something to explore there!). She shares how she helps her clients find their footing, and explains why it's high time that employers respond to the needs of new generations of workers. “We can look at fertility, we can look at cognition, memory, the nervous system, sleep, really there's not a single system of the body that yoga and meditation don't have have evidence to support for helping you function.” Ann Swanson has written the book on the science of yoga. Literally. After dealing with chronic pain and anxiety throughout her life, Ann tried yoga and meditation. Reluctant at first, once she started seeing real improvements, she went all in - and today, Ann's published two books that map out the hard evidence on the profound impacts these practices can have on our health and well-being. In her books Meditation for the Real World and Science of Yoga, Ann breaks down how these practices can improve nearly every aspect of our health, and how anyone can build them into their day - without a complete lifestyle overhaul. It's January, the time of year when everyone hits the ground running. We're setting goals, building new habits, and pushing to start the year off strong. But all that momentum can come with a price. Stress, burnout, and routines that just don't stick. If you're feeling the pressure, you're not alone. So, in this episode, Ann explains how yoga and meditation helped her overcome her significant health challenges, and how they can help you too. She has dedicated her career to helping people harness the power of mindfulness, movement and the mind-body connection in tiny, manageable steps. No need for incense, chanting, or intense, lengthy, cross-legged sessions. It's the New Year's episode you need. We've got 30-second yoga moves, one-minute meditations, and the small, sustainable habits that can make all the difference.About Ann SwansonAnn Swanson teaches meditation to busy people with busy minds. She is the author of the bestselling book SCIENCE OF YOGA, which has been translated into over 15 languages. Her new book, Meditation for the Real World, illuminates the fascinating science behind meditation with step-by-step practices to help you find peace in everyday life. However, Ann wasn't a naturally “chill person,” and meditation didn't come easy to her. Overcoming chronic pain and anxiety led her to India to study yoga, to China to explore tai chi, into the cadaver lab to teach anatomy, to night school to become a licensed massage therapist, and, ultimately, to earn a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy. Ryan Murphy is a nine-time Olympic medal-winning swimmer, but it hasn't all been podium glory. At this summer's Paris Games, Ryan missed qualifying for the men's 100 meter backstroke by one tenth of a second. And that was after he had just won silver in the 200 meter. It's these extraordinary swings between triumph and disappointment that Ryan is so brilliant at managing. Through it all, he's learned to roll with the lows just as easily as he celebrates the highs. There are few endeavours that can match the intense 24-7, 365 day per year commitment and pressure of being an Olympian, and in this episode, we get lessons in stress management and keeping things in perspective that anyone can use. From his early years in competitive swimming when he actually vomited from nerves before every race, to his philosophical views on winning and losing, Ryan takes us through a career that's been built on family and team support, and incredible focus and drive. He also discusses his passion project, opening his St. Johns. Florida location of Goldfish Swim School, and helping to share the joyful and lifesaving skill of swimming. You don't want to miss this great conversation as we get an Olympic icon's valuable wisdom on performing under pressure, the power of a team, dealing with the unknowns, and yes, managing the expectations. About Ryan MurphyRyan Murphy began breaking records as soon as he started swimming at age 5. Through dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment, Ryan has fulfilled his academic and athletic dreams. While at the University of California, Berkeley, he won both the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events at the NCAA Championships for four straight years. He holds the American Record in multiple backstroke events. In his Olympic debut in Rio, Ryan won three golds medals, sweeping the backstroke events and helping the U.S. win gold in the 4x100m medley relay, where his backstroke lead-off set a world record. As one of the most dominant swimmers in the world, the 23-year-old swept the backstroke events at the 2018 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, won six medals (three gold and three silver) at the 2018 Swimming World Championships in Hangzhou, China, and was named the 2018 Male Athlete of the Year by USA Swimming. In 2021, he shined in Tokyo winning gold in the 4×100 meter medley relay, silver in the 200-meter backstroke and bronze in the 100-meter backstroke. A native of Ponte Vedra Beach (Jacksonville), Fla., Murphy is passionate about giving every young child the opportunity to learn how to swim and being a role model for young swimmers. At 33 years old, Tatiana Miller suddenly lost feeling and movement in her legs, and was lying in a hospital bed. “I had four orthopedic surgeons tell me, ‘this is going to be your new normal', and at that moment, I remember thinking, no, absolutely not. You're wrong”. When it comes to her health, accepting the status quo has never been in the cards for Tatiana. As a teen, she saw multiple doctors to find help for her autoimmune disease and chronic pain. For years, she struggled to find answers, studying holistic medicine and practicing yoga, but her body kept degenerating, until one day, a bad fall left her paralyzed. In this episode, Tatiana shares how her refusal to accept her doctor's prognosis and her journey to recovery inspired her to found RX for Life, a health consulting business that helps bridge the gap between Western healthcare and holistic medicine. At RX 4 Life, Tatiana helps her clients connect with what's happening in their bodies, the ways that things like mental health and lifestyle could effect that, and how holistic medicine might help. It's a fascinating discussion where we dive into how we approach healthcare and why it's critical that we rethink it.About Tatiana MillerTatiana Miller started RX 4 Life over a decade ago. Drawing from her experiences with Western healthcare, and her experience in psychology and holistic practices, her services aim to support individuals, especially those with high-stress jobs, those dealing with burnout and anxiety, and those living with chronic illnesses. The day has finally come! Friends…our book is officially launched! Join us on today's episode as we celebrate the book, vacillate from excitement to nausea, and look back on the incredible guests on The Breakout who inspired it all.One of our amazing guests once said, “all these rules that have been taught to us? They were not bargained for collectively. We did not actually agree to them”. She was actually talking about monogamy, but for us, that sentiment applies universally to every expectation we live by. It's also a sentiment that serves as the starting point for our book, Whatever the Hell You Want. It's a book about the unspoken expectations, the “I shoulds” that we live by, and the secret dreams we've tried to ignore. But it's also a guide for seeing those stifling boxes for what they are, pushing back on expectations, making changes and embracing the life you (yes, you) really want. We know a thing or two about transformations and we know they're not easy. So we wanted to write a practical guide to help people make the changes they are aching to make. And in this episode we're looking back on some of the truly remarkable guests that have broken out of boxes, blown our minds, and inspired us to write the book everyone needs so they can break out themselves.About The BreakoutThe Breakout is the hit podcast hosted by human resources and change experts Dr. Keri Ohlrich and Kelly Guenther. Episode Summary: Swimming has always been something that the black culture can do. Trust me, I've been to the Olympics. Team Nigeria, Team South Africa. It's a problem in the U.S. And it starts with the culture. We have to stop saying we don't swim. Yes. We. Do. Olympic gold-medal winning swimmer Cullen Jones' journey into the sport started with a near drowning when he was five-years old. The experience left him terrified of deep water – as soon as he couldn't touch the floor he would panic. But his mother was adamant that her son learn how to swim and with incredible determination and against a lot of odds, Cullen became one of the fastest in the world. In this episode, Cullen takes us through his journey from being a kid scared to jump into the pool to facing racism at swim meets and going on to break a world record in swimming. He tells us about Brad the instructor who taught him to love swimming and about the time Serena Williams gave him a shout of encouragement before a big race. Cullen also gets candid about the barriers he faced as an African American swimmer, what he is doing now to change the swimming narrative in the Black community, and his mission to ensure underserved communities learn the life-saving skill of swimming. About Cullen Jones:Cullen Jones is a four time Olympic medalist and the first African American to break a world record in swimming. As a member of Team USA, he made history by helping break world records and winning gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in what many say was the most exciting race in Olympic History. Off the pool deck, he is a passionate advocate for water safety. Cullen serves as an ambassador and board member of the USA Swimming Foundation and works with GoldFish Swim School to help make swimming lessons more accessible to underserved communities.Connect with Cullen: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/cullenjones41/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cullenjones/?hl=en Team USA: https://www.teamusa.com/profiles/cullen-jonesAbout The BreakoutThe Breakout is the hit podcast hosted by human resources and change experts Dr. Keri Ohlrich and Kelly Guenther.
