While this softens the blow of the 360 marketplace's closure there are still a massive amount of games being left behind. Physical copies of these games will and in some cases already have seen an increase in value. Digital only games like Rush ‘N Attack Expatriot, Rez HD, Vigilante 8 Arcade, and all of the Arcade Kinect games will be largely left to time, piracy notwithstanding. Here's hoping that the recently rumored renewed focus on backwards compatibility from Microsoft comes to fruition. - PS3 -While Sony had previously announced in 2021 that it was shutting down its PS3 digital storefront, the company reversed its decision after a backlash from fans. Getting two episodes in this month! First of all covering a project related to the Wii which is a Wii Shop revival service. Going back to the PSP, this covers the Kirk ROM being dumped, which is the console's encryption/decryption engine. The original PlayStation gets some love, in the form of the NetYaroze's Access Card being reverse engineered! Xenium modchip owners can celebrate a new development with the release of PrometheOS, a free and open-source replacement operating system for the chip itself. There's many ways to dump GBA games, but have you ever thought a GBA game could dump itself through a crash? Finally, we get some awesome looking screenshots we haven't seen before of an early prototype of the Switch System Menu!
Good job, Rockstar.

Full disclosure - while not perfect we actually are enjoying our time in Fallout 76 thank you very much. But with so much social media hate coming Anthem's way, could it be enough to sink it before it even hits open Beta phase? I know, i know, yet another rant about emulation with video games! Sorry guys but felt led to make this podcast based on the closing of the Wii Shop. Nintendo's Wii Shop once promised a forever growing stable of games from the medium's storied past, plus new titles at a budget price. Offered through its Virtual Console and WiiWare initiatives, preservationists were ecstatic. And yet, years later, the store is now shuttered, its games lost like so many sands of time. Mr. Pacario ponders the shop's iffy legacy...and wonders what could have been. By the end of March 2018, Wii owners will no longer be able to add Wii Points to the Wii Shop. By the end of January 2019, no new purchases, or downloads of existing purchases, will no longer be possible. Everyone's Wii will be no different than a Wii Mini. Vinnk and Sean try to figure out their final Wii purchases, as the very thing we worried about when this podcast first started will finally overtake Nintendo's first online-aware console: the death of gaming services. In Future Retro, we gush over how much we absolutely adore Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch.
