Andy is out this week on the pod, meaning Dak and Doom are here to take the wheel! Last week, we discussed the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Nintendo Treehouse demo in great detail to fully analyze its contents. This week, we gathered ALL of the official info on the game we could find; from gameplay to developer quotes, and attempted to use that information to predict where the game's story is heading. What are Sylux's motivations? Do the new "Fusion" Metroids have a relationship to the psychic abilities Samus acquires? Should the Lamorn be trusted? Is there a greater connection to the Metroid Prime Trilogy storyline than we realize? All of this and so much more in this nearly 2 hour discussion! Plus... A major update on Nintendo Switch 2 North American pre-orders, now confirmed to begin on April 24th! Good luck everyone!   Visit OmegaMetroid.com!   Subscribe! Episode 187 – Definitively Ranking Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Definitive Ranking returns! This time around, we're analyzing what's often called the "weak link" of the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. We spend a lot of time debunking that weak link theory, talking about Corruption's story as the best in the series, debate how Hypermode could have been better, complain about the lack of challenging expansions, gush about using Samus's Gunship, ask if Prime 3 has that one killer song, and so much more! As an added bonus, here are Doom's notes! Come play along, and as always, here's the criteria for the Definitive Rankings: World / Atmosphere (the vibe, the setting, the mood) Art Style (design of Samus, the enemies, the graphics in general) Story (what works, what doesn't) Pacing / Progression (are there any parts that really bog the player down, or is it still fun getting lost?) Gameplay / “Gimmick” (what new or different gameplay aspects we like) Items / Abilities (how are the powerups and are they cool and practical) Areas (how does each individual area look, feel, play, etc.) Enemies / Bosses (are they fun, creative, etc.) Expansions / Powerups (are the expansions hidden throughout the world fun, creative, and enjoyable to collect?) Music (are we humming along?) Of course, all of these are subjective, and we're putting our critics hats on, but we want to hear what you have to say on Twitter!   Visit OmegaMetroid.com!   Subscribe! My guest today is a is a Canadian American actor for video games, television and film. Born in Labrador in Canada, she soon moved to Alabama in the United States, where, as a teenager, she began working as a commercial voice over artist for radio. After graduating from Alabama School of Fine Arts, she took on voice roles to fund her dream of becoming a musician. Soon, however, the acting took over. After securing some roles in regional TV series, she moved to Los Angeles. There, a part in the cartoon ‘Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?' brought her into the world of video games, where she quickly became one of the world's most sought-after performers. In 2011 the New Yorker described her as “a kind of Meryl Streep of the form.” Her roles, which number more than a hundred, include that of Samus Aran in the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Naomi Hunter in Metal Gear Solid, Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect games, and the character Ashe in Overwatch. Welcome back to a new episode of The Game Informer Show! We know what you're thinking, and yes, we are aware that Nintendo just put on a Xenoblade 3 digital showcase, but that won't stop us from hoping for more. Just like with Sony and Microsoft, we're brushing off our crystal balls and predicting what Nintendo will have at its big summer Direct...whenever that may be. Will The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel make an appearance with a more concrete gameplay section and a name reveal? Will Nintendo continue to roll out its iconic characters on Switch with a new Donkey Kong game? Can we expect to see Samus in the form of the rumored Metroid Prime Trilogy port or the much-anticipated Metroid Prime 4? Only time will tell, but we hope today's podcast will be a fun distraction while we wait for the next big Nintendo Direct! Ubisoft announces their new game XDefiant, a 6 vs 6 multiplayer shooter with factions from various Tom Clancy games. Nintendo actually acknowledges rumors only to shoot them down. Could they be serious about no other Switch models? Yeah... about that. Also, the Steam Deck is seriously a thing and it has gotten everyone riled up about everything from emulation to portable PCs to even being a "Switch Killer." Don't really think that the last one is going to happen, but preorders did drop for it and a few of the SKU's have already been delayed. Speaking of delays, there have been a few of those. But there's also been the announcement of Company of Heroes 3, the purchase of Sumo by Tencent, possible proof that the Metroid Prime Trilogy is ready for Switch, Netflix getting into gaming, the NPD numbers for June 2021, and much more. Also, Marc Morrison finally beat Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and It Takes Two. He got to play some Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart as well and he talks about why it didn't quite jive with him. Sean Garmer had a week off from games pretty much, as he's been trying to knock out some written reviews. Todd and Will are both enjoy New Pokemon Snap still, but what have they seen within the game recently that made them smile? Also, Fire Emblem Heroes has got them talking, but why? Then, in the news, the guys talk about the potential non-starter that is Metroid Prime Trilogy coming to Switch. Also there have been a TON of rumors from a certain Nintendo insider, but what does it all mean? Is there some big titles coming out way this year and next? What franchise got detailed in the rumor mill? Finally, in a bit of a prelude to "The Road To E3", Todd and Will discuss what their overall hopes for E3 2021 from Nintendo are. Are they hoping they do a long Nintendo Direct? Do they want them to focus on games for this year, or reveal what's coming next year and after? Or what about the potential Nintendo Switch Pro? The guys break it all down. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast!

Several of these collections overlap.  But then sometimes different versions of a game are significant enough they should count separately.  I also only pulled virtual console numbers for the other systems.  I know there were at least some compilations and collections on them as well. It might be interesting to give a breakdown by system. (how many SNES games are available on switch vs. Wii?)  Part of the reason the offerings on switch feel so sparse is I sort of mentally block out all the arcade stuff and the atari collection, and those make up a good chunk of Switch's final number.   (Game Releases)   (Break)   (Community Content)   (Retro Rewind) Sonic the Hedgehog   (Question of the week) ChrisHL94 -  With the recent release of the Monster Hunter film, what is the best and worst film based on a video game?
