Paolo Vanoli"Geo Poletti Collezionista e Pittore"Pinacoteca Civica di ComoMostra aperta fino al 3 marzo 2024 La Pinacoteca Civica di Como, dopo il comodato della grande tela di Paolo Pagani con la Caduta degli angeli ribelli concesso dagli eredi di Huberto Poletti (1954–2019), prosegue la collaborazione con la famiglia Poletti organizzando una mostra incentrata sulla figura di Ruggero Poletti, per tutti Geo (Milano, 1926 – Lenno, Como, 2012).Ricercato conoscitore di pittura antica, collezionista e pittore in prima persona, Geo Poletti è una figura di primo piano nel panorama artistico italiano della seconda metà del Novecento. La sua raccolta, costruita con occhio attento alla qualità e senza preclusioni verso gli “anonimi” e gli artisti considerati “minori”, ha svolto un ruolo importante nella riscoperta di alcuni pittori poco noti, poi universalmente riconosciuti da critica e mercato, a partire dall'amato Paolo Pagani (Castello Valsolda, Como 1655 - Milano, 1716), di cui sono esposti ben 7 dipinti, e di un genere emblematico della pittura di età moderna come la natura morta, esplorata con passione e competenza in molte delle sue diramazioni del Seicento e del Settecento.È anche grazie a lui e a Giovanni Testori, compagno di molte avventure nel campo della storia dell'arte, che grandi artisti lombardi a lungo trascurati,da Fra Galgario a Giacomo Ceruti, da Tanzio da Varallo a Cerano, Morazzone e Giulio Cesare Procaccini – sono entrati nel canone della storia dell'arte italiana e della storia del collezionismo.Questi orientamenti si riflettono nella collezione di nature morte montata da Geo Poletti, da tempo riconosciuta come una delle maggiori in Italia e come una fondamentale "officina" per lo studio e la comprensione di questo genere, di cui nella mostra di Como verrà presentata una selezione di capolavori. Sitting down with Babatunde Akinboboye, Operatic Baritone & creator of the musical genre #hiphopera was like a masterclass in technical imagination. The analogies and sensations Babatunde expresses to explain vocal events is worth the watch. A singer of diverse talents, Nigerian American Baritone, Babatunde Akinboboye is known for his enthralling stage presence. He has performed with the Los Angeles Opera, Opera San Jose, Opera Santa Barbara, Long Beach Opera, and Utah Opera. Babatunde has also debuted the roles of Drew in the Opera Works'Arts for Social Awareness Project's world premiere production of The Discord Opera, and Zanni in the world premiere of Gloria Coates' Stolen Identity. His most recent performances include Daggoo in LA Opera's Moby Dick, Escamillo in Pacific Opera Project's production of Carmen, and Lucha's Father in The Industry's production of Hopscotch. As an advocate for the performance of art song and operatic works written by African, and African American composers, Mr. Akinboboye has headlined the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry awards in Lagos, Nigeria performing a fusion of opera and traditional African music and has been a featured performer at both the National Association of Negro Musicians Annual Conference, as well as the African American Art Song Alliance Conference. Babatunde's honors include Regional Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition, and finalist in the International Eisteddfod Vocal Solo Competition in Llangollen, Wales. In December of 2018, Babatunde combined his love of classical opera and hip hop and created the new genre Hip Hopera in a viral video that gained over 10 million views and was featured on Time.com, Classic FM, MSN.com and more. Today I'm talking to Suzanne Brosnan, the founder of LA based sustainable clothing brand, Zanni. In our interview, Suzanne explains how the idea for her brand came to her when she found herself running all over Boston in the Summer heat wishing she had clothes that could take her from comfortable commuting to business meetings. Suzanne's background is in graphic design and UI and although Zanni is her main focus, she uses her expertise as a founder to consult for other businesses on the side.
